Romance / Re: Haitian-Naija Relationship: What do you think? Share your experiences! by blandyne(f): 2:41am On Mar 01, 2010 |
sillyboy: I can't stand people that can only look at one side of the fence. I won't stood to your level. You actually went way too far, are we talking about women in general or haitian women ? Women get beat up in every part of the world every single day. So why should it be different when it comes to haitian women. I'm boiling right now and my blood is rushing, but again i've seen some of you people on Nl going crazy and using derogatory words towards each other. I won't entertain you, don't have time for that. Let me tell you something, my ex boyfriend when i first met him told me so much negatives things about nigerian, especially nigerian women. I didn't listen to half of the things he was saying which by the way were unbelievable, because i knew besides him being nigerian, he's also a man. I remember asking him to stop and told him it would be better if we have this conversation with a nigerian woman present. Guess what he dropped the subject and never came back to it again. I can continue and tell you what people are saying in NY and other places about nigerian men, but again i won't 'cause i know how people love to talk and don't know sh*t about what they are saying. They words could have stop me from dating my ex, but guess what even though we're not together anymore, i won't joined them and start bashing nigerian men; and that's the difference between you and I. |

sillyboy: Are you for real ? I'm speechless, This is the first time ever i'm hearing such crap. I'm not saying that haitian women are perfect, but danm you went too far. Just because you had a bad experience, doesn't mean that you have to be biased. p.s: Funny u're in NJ. |

mito: People always seems amazed once they found out about my ex-boyfriend and I (we broke up a month ago ) I'm HAITIAN , and of course he's Nigerian. Some of them we're speechless when meeting us, others thought we were "interesting". There's not a lot of couples like us, don't know why. I'll never forget my mother's face when i told her i was dating a Nigerian man It was so funny, she freaked out telling me that African men are chauvinistic polygamous and arrogant; that he will marry as many woman as he wants and i'll live in a house with my husband's concubines. . . .Please note that she said "African men" not Nigerian because most Haitians don't care which country in Africa you are from, they just refer to you as "African". I had to explain to her that not all "African men" are polygamous. To cut a long story short, she ended up liking him. FL Gators: Your friend is kinda right, there's not that much difference. Haitian men are big time liars, well some of them. They know how to soothe or seduce you with their words, so are Nigerian men in reference of what I've seen on NL. I know some of you will kill me for saying this, but Haitian men are far more romantics. This is based on my personal observation, not talking only about my ex, but also one of my good friend whose Ghanaian. @ Plat and MzDarkSkin It's true that Haitians are Igbos descents, however we come from Congo and Benin as well. FL Gators: Yes the food is similar. I don't remember the native name for this dish, but he used to cook me some beans, they are so tasty. In Haiti we have this same dish but we don't put that much meat in it. Nigerians like to combine all kind of meat and fish, we do not. Jollof rice is what haitians call "du riz rouge", it means red rice, Oh I luuuuuuuuv Nigerian stews, no wonder i gained weight ( he always cooked for me, which was a plus 'cause Haitian men don't cook ). . . .Eba we call it "tomtom" but it's only eaten in one part of Haiti which is the southwestern part of the country; and they eat it there just like you guys, just dip it in okra stew and swallow it. lol |

Romance / Re: Can A Nigerian Girl And Her Father Be Romantically Involved? by blandyne(f): 3:08am On Feb 24, 2010 |
BreiAna: Girl, u better start investigate him ASAP !!!!!!!!! This is just too weird. U said "she just arrived in the U.S" IMHO i think he just moved his wife or second wife into your house. . . . Befriend one of his family members or his friends, i mean someone that will give u the dirt on him. It won't be easy, but trust me every family has one, so look carefully. p.s: The fact that she walks around him wearing a towel is nothing. I do walk naked sometimes in the house even with my father there. However the whole situation with the door closed for hours is suspicious. |
Fashion / Re: Do You Love Your Body? by blandyne(f): 12:36am On Feb 23, 2010 |
Yes overall i love my body, but i will love to have a flatter stomach and less love handles. The good thing is that i'm working on it even though i just had a slice of strawberry cheesecake. Do not worry people, i haven't fall off the wagon yet. Last time i had a slice was for my birthday. |
Fashion / Re: A Size 14 by blandyne(f): 12:29am On Feb 23, 2010 |
FL Gators: Of course i am, isn't it obvious!!!! U even put "size 4" in bold. |
Fashion / Re: A Size 14 by blandyne(f): 12:22am On Feb 23, 2010 |
FL Gators: Kim Kardashian is a size 4. It's just the way she carries her weight and her big showcase butt that make people think otherwise. We have to remember that she's short also, her height is 5'2 1/2". Last i heard she weighs about 120-125 lbs. |
Fashion / Re: A Size 14 by blandyne(f): 12:02am On Feb 23, 2010 |
I can't believe what some of you are saying, you are making me sick. What's wrong with a size 14 ? @ Poster You know yourself better than anyone here so i have to ask you: do u think u should lose weight? If your answer is yes then do so. However before you do, u have to know why. The reason i'm saying that it's because as women we always compare ourselves to other women and trust me i know what i'm talking about. I have 2 sisters and both of them are wayyyyy smaller than I. One is a size 8 and the other 2-4,right now I'm a size 16. Guess what? I'm not the only one looking at the mirror and pointing at my flaws, they are too. They even do it more than me, i'm just giving you proof that u'll always find something that u're not happy with. Losing weight just to please others won't make you happy, but losing weight and also learn to love yourself will. Just take it one step at a time. I almost forgot to tell u. Do u know that my size 8 older sister is dying to have my curves especially my thighs because of the way they look in jeans. On the other hand my size 2-4 younger sister just love my b.o.o.b.s, she literally stare at them all the time, Don't get me wrong i'm not saying i'm 100% happy with my size right now, actually i'm trying to lose weight and go back to being a 14. But i really love my body even though i want my butt to be a little smaller. Being healthy and confident it's all that matter not the numbers on the scale mine start with a 2. Regarding of what u should wear, just like someone mentioned earlier those 3/4 pants won't do u justice. Always wear either long pants and jeans, or shorts ( not daisy duke shorts) but the one that stops above your knees only if u're comfortable with them. Try to wear heels more often, they will elongate your legs. . . . Tops and trousers are not a problem, just stay away from the ones that are too long ( that stop way below ur butt) unless they are long tunics or dresses that u can wear with leggins. . . . A line dresses and skirts are a plus, never wear 3/4 length skirts. . . . Always wear good undergarments and bras. . . . Last but not least, u know your best assets so work with them, I hope i answer ur questions. |
Romance / Re: Would You Go Celibate For Lent? by blandyne(f): 4:36am On Feb 20, 2010 |
@Poster Yes, yes and yes. It's not easy but you can do it. I've done it before and i will, well more like i'm doing it again this year. |
Romance / Re: Messages On Girl's Phone by blandyne(f): 8:10pm On Feb 19, 2010 |
Poster listen, i don't know any woman that will allow her male friend to send her romantic texts messages while she has a boyfriend that she loves and wants to be with, I smell a huge rat!!!!!!! She might not be dating him right now, however she's considering the idea of being with him and i really think that's why she doesn't mind if you break up with her, Just think about it, i don't see any other reason why she'll want u to let her go, in my opinion your accusations are not enough for her to say so,even if she's innocent. Something's just not right. |

@Kokoye FYI i'm in my 20's. @Tatase, Woye77, Duniverse It's a well know fact, stated by many that i can have too much pride sometimes. But you have to understand his behaviors led me to end things. So i think if he's remorseful he should be more proactive and show me that he still cares, Why can he swallow his pride and say he messed up ? I'm just tired of compromising. . .Lately i've put my feelings aside to analyze the whole situation and i realize that we don't communicate at all. It's always been me talking so if he really cares why doesn't he come out of his comfort zone for once. . .Anyways i should stop whining and let it be, if God wants it to happen, it will. One more thing, he sent me a text saying he really meant what he wrote in the card. My reply was: " Meanwhile your actions show otherwise". Still now he hasn't say anything |
Romance / Re: What Do I Do Now ? by blandyne(f): 8:19pm On Feb 18, 2010 |
@kokoye You're right i'm not sure if i want him back. You want to know what i want ? Here we go: I want him to truly apologize for ignoring me I want him to tell me clearly what he thinks and stop assuming that i already know And most importantly I want him to realize that i'm different from his ex girlfriends. |

Romance / Re: I'm A Taking Things Too Far? by blandyne(f): 7:07pm On Feb 18, 2010 |
stereo2: I don't know where men get the idea that giving a woman attention is a sign of weakness. You better step up your game because women love attention, if you don't give it to her someone else will. This is one of the reason why i broke up with my boyfriend. To me being there once in a while proves that you're not reliable. |
Romance / What Do I Do Now ? by blandyne(f): 6:48pm On Feb 18, 2010 |
My ex boyfriend sent me a card on valentine's day. I wasn't expecting anything since we're not together anymore. I didn't want to be rude so i sent him a text saying "thanks". . .Now the whole situation bothers me. I broke up with him 3 weeks ago coz he was misbehaving. I have to be honest to myself, i still love him. I've dated a few guys before him but he's the first one i fell for. . . I feel like i should talk to him but i have no clue what to say, i'm not even sure if i want him back. |

REST IN PEACE THIERRY I know that you are with GOD our FATHER right now. |
Foreign Affairs / Re: Haiti Earthquake Feared To Have Killed Hundreds by blandyne(f): 4:40pm On Jan 14, 2010 |
@ Approved1 Ignorance is bliss, indeed !!!!!!!!!! May God help you. I can't believe that a grown woman like you, a 33 year old adult could be so ignorant. So you think this is happening in Haiti because of voodoo. Well let me tell you, as an HAITIAN myself i have never practiced voodoo. I'm christian, precisely a catholic so is the majority of haitians ( 80%), and the rest (20%) are protestants, atheists or voodoo followers. I'm not saying that there are no voodoo followers in haiti, but it's not what most of you guys think of it. You said we "cut and sell human body parts" to do evil. Well i have a question for you, is it what the juju priests in Nigeria do too? Because from what i understand there is not a big difference between haitian voodoo and nigerian juju, Are you aware that haitians are also descendants of the igbo tribe. Therefore wouldn't i be right if i say that nigerians are evil. Fortunately, i will never make such statement because i know that nigerians are really religious and have fear of God. And one more thing,do you know this morning i woke up and my mom told me that my little cousin died. My dad's cousin, his only son died and he was only 8 years old. So, just wondering do u still think that little boy died because of voodoo. |
