sowetto: You will remain on the queue. That's the situation as of now. I don't know if they will change it. You can choose april 2024 as your start date for visa. I'm just saying you could also get an admission for winter 2023. The reason is that summer admission period is usually short. And you could get visa interview invite before you are issued admission letter. The idea is to always have a valid admission at hand. 1 Like |

sowetto: Now sounds like the perfect time to apply. However, nothing is guaranteed. I'd say have a backup plan. In addition, ensure that you have a valid admission at all times. If you get an interview invite but have no valid admission, you will have waited in vain. It may be wise to target schools that defer admission and schools that allow you to start both in winter and summer semesters. And even if April 2024 is your desired start date, if you meet the admission requirements, then you should apply for winter 2023. All the best. |

elayomohammed: Your uni in Nigeria should have that. It's usually in the Faculty handbook that you receive upon matriculation. Many schools also have it as pdf on their website. So check your uni's website. It contains details of the grading system and description of the courses. |

somto234567: Is it an advice or a directive? I mean can you choose not to exmatriculate or they say you have to? By deferring your studies, does the school mean that you can continue where you left off? If the first answer is yes and the second answer is no, then you should not exmatriculate. |

chisomonyeke: Exactly as I said. Even for sterling, people get different results from different branches. But in the last one year there seemed to be more positive outcomes from sterling than from other banks. My advice would be to find someone who's done it in PH and ask them for the specific branch. |

chisomonyeke: There is no rule on how to fund your block account. Just fund your account. Of course you know Form A is much cheaper than sourcing your fcy from the black market. Funding block account with Form A is not so straightforward. Most bank will tell you block account does not qualify for Form A (because the beneficiary account is in your name. They will tell you they can only transfer directly to your school/institution). But some banks will process it for you. The interesting thing is you will even get different responses from different branches of the same bank, even sterling bank. It's rather confusing. Now, people talk about Sterling bank a lot because in recent times, it has been the 'surest plug'nin terms of success and speed. At a point sterling bank would fund your block account within 3 days, especially the head office branch at Marina (for those who live in Lagos). In the past GTBank was the surest. At some point Zenith, then Keystone. I do not think GTBank or Keystone even do block account via Form A anymore. So, the situation is always changing because block account is a grey area in terms of eligibility for form A. Sadly, I don't think Sterling is as fast as they used to be. A friend has been waiting for them to debit him for almost 2 months now. And it is not even block account. I guess the whole september rush also affects speed. When people heard that Sterling was fast, they all ran there. (especially the UK people). So I imagine they now have a huge backlog. Meanwhile I heard Union Bank does it in about a week (not block account though). To answer your question, it doesn't have to be Sterling bank. But be aware that it hard to get a Nigerian bank that will do the transaction, talk less of doing it quickly. And currently, Sterling bank is not fast. |

Divwake: Why? Clearly, the embassy does not consider your programme start date. Shugarlipz, ultimately, the decision is yours. I'll advise you not to cancel. Get another admission letter for summer. With the way things are going, you may have to wait till next Winter. (isn't the waiting period 12 months?). Just ensure you have a valid admisssion letter at all times. More importantly, explore other options. No one knows when this semi-embargo will end. |

charliesyndrom: Someone told me she was born before 1992 and used npc birth certificate without issues. I cannot confirm if this is true. Anyway, to your question: Yes. It requires your family head's passport photo as well as yours. Essentially this person swears an affidavit attesting to the date you were born. This affidavit is the used by npc to issue you a certificate of age declaration. My advice is just go to NPC and tell them you want to do age declaration "deposed by your mum or dad (or whichever family head you choose). They have people within the premises that will handle the affidavit. There's a standard format. You give them your details and the passport photos. They will take it to the High Court to get it stamped. But you'll pay some money for their services, separate from the cost of Age declaration that npc will charge you. Alternatively, you may decide to go to the high court to do the affidavit by yourself and bring it to npc. In any case, don't worry about the content. Once you tell them what you want, they'll handle it. There's a standard format that is usually followed. 1 Like |

Montenate: No. Because you could be a citizen or permanent resident. They'll only check that at the airport. Just be careful not to book a flight for a date prior to the validity of your visa. For instance you can't fly on the 5th if your visa is valid from 6th. |

MrCadu: Why not contact the statutory or private health insurance companies in Germany (if you're 30 and above) and confirm. As far as I know, you wont be charged for insurance until you arrive in Germany. You can sign an insurance contract from Nigeria but they will usually ask you to inform them when you arrive in Germany. That has been my experience. |
