Thanks. In New Jersey, if you have your Nigeria international driving license you will just do knowledge test(computer base test) which u have to score 40 out of 50 questions. Immediately you will be issued your license.

The process is going to the motor vehicle commission with your green card or international passport,two proof of address(which can be your ssn letter/debit card),naija driver's license,ssn with all this you will be book for your knowledge test.

Touch down on USA soil on the 8th of June at Newark International Airport aboard a virgin-atlantic flight from London. Went through the immigration and people were looking at me because I join the line of permanent residents with a green passport on my hand,but I don't care cos I know am a permanent resident too lol. After 30mins am done with the immigration officer, all glory be unto God for everything. This is my second day in North Brunswick, New Jersey.

The identity card of the states you reside as it is required to qualify for some state benefits ( jobs, community college sponsorship, grant and benefits. ( Fashola is planing a similar program in Lagos ).

seal777: After 30 days,i went to the DPS office for my state ID and my drivers license....got my state Id done instantly and also took the computer test for the drivers license and passed.

Scheduled for road test come 28th May, got all my documents while waiting for the road test.z

Holla via the forum when you are in the State. In the mean time, you can also look at SAP GRC (there are other lucrative areas of specialization too that are not SAP too - dont restrict yourself). Similar to Software testing too. Educate yourself in your area of specialization as as much as you can. One will definitely find a way/break through over here. But, we need to be ready when the opportunities knock

I did my interview in London too. Thinking about it now, i did my medical and interview in November (21st)but i was asked to mail my passport to the embassy whenever i have a Nigeria police report ( the visa was approved but no physical evidence on my passport ). I mailed the passport to them 3 months after (January of the following year) and my passport with the visa was send back to me 3 days after (23/01). I did not travel to US till 10days before my visa expire (13/07)

So, i dont think your visa clock start counting on the same day that you did your medical. Because my medical was 3 month older than my visa ( i need to re-check my paper work again regarding my medical). Also, my POE was Philly and it was smooth sailing

Which year was that? Because, for this year that was how the embassy have been granting the visa with medical expiring on the same day. My friend goldfish4u, who did his medical in Jan this year n interview in Feb,also have his visa expiring the same day with his medical. Bro, you know they always change some of the way they do things.

Also Owobaba, you wrote above that your medical and visa expire same time: It is capital " IMPOSSIBLE". You did your medical a week or 2 before interview and so both visa and medical cannot expire at the same time.

@ ogbonlowob, my visa and medical expire the same day. In UK, ur visa started counting from the day u did ur medical, so that is how both expire the same day.

Sorry baba, I just came back from work.Yes there is no problem with that, my friend in Houston did same thing, he came down as Principal applicant get a job a house within three months and his wife and kids joined him later, but the issue of medical should be taking into consideration too, his wife was disturbed for the medical issue and was mandated to do some physical b4 her green card was finally released.

Mot at all, for as long as they come into the country within their 6 months visa expiration period, taking into consideration their medical expiry date anyway.

thnx seal77, of cos they will come in before their visa expire. The visa and medical expire the same day, my worry is that on their visa there is where it is written "valid only if Acc/FTJ spouse" that was why i asked if it wont be any problem @ the poe when am the first to come over.

Once again we give all the glory unto God. We got to the embassy by 6:30am, we met one lady there for crew visa for Britain airways and so many policemen n women cos of the Boston bomb blast. We enter d embassy by 7:15am n do the normal security checks. Then after went into d main building where d woman check our interview letter send to US by d embassy n give us I901 as our nos. So we went to d interview hall. By 8:15am our nos was called for submitting our documents, devil want to use d woman but our God have settled it since so we were not worry about what she said that she won't collect our AOS, because it was scan copy not a posted copy. She later said our bank statement is ok for us. She was friendly with my daughter and I went to pay £600 for d 3 of us. By 10am, our nos was called @window 15 were we met one nice guy. Our interview lasted just 5mins which I always prayed for.
