Hello House,

Please while filling my children's visa application form, in the field that says 'Please give details of your parents/guardian(s) in your home country?', do I still put my name and my hubby's names even though we are travelling together with them?

Many thanks!

Yes

Hello

Please I wanna pay my big sis in the Uk a visit during summer.. Most likely in July. we're not blood related but we grew up together and our families are very close.

However I've never been out of the country, I work in a bank and my monthly income is above 200k, I've worked for 2years now and I have savings of about a million.
I don't have landed property yet and I'm unmarried.

What do you think my chances are seeing that I've never been out of the country... Do you think I should go to Ghana just to have international travel history?

Going to Ghana is waste of time and money, it will not do you any favour, you will be given a visa if you met the requirements, there is always a first timer.

PLs i need some info, am applying fro uk visa soon, so am filling the online form. i came across this question - Have you ever voluntarily elected to depart the UK?---

i dont really understand the question, since in the previous questions i was asked if i have visited the uk b4, and my arrival and departure dates..........so do i conclude that this same question is the same?....and answer yes and enter the dates i departed uk on my previous visit/visa?

waiting for answer pls.

Have you ever traveled to the UK and overstayed your visa and then left voluntarily without been deported by the govt?

@JUSTWISE, NO..LAST time i was in the uk, i stayed 10days and came back...with 6 months visa, applied sometime later and was given 2yrs visa wch expired late 2013..............i was unable to use it, cos i got married and changed jobs. so this yr i intend to apply 6months for my wife and 2yrs for myself, writing a letter stating why i didnt use the last 2yrs visa, i hope am not wasting my money by applying for 2yrs again?.

also from ur question, so i can take it that the question is meant for those that overstayed thier visa, and later voluntarily left?

Yea you shouldn't have gone for 2 years again since the last one was 2 years too, should have gone for 5 or 10 years defending on how frequent you travel.

If you haven't overstayed or been deported for whatever reason then select no to the answer.

THANKS @ JUSTWISE..

sry if my questions are too many, but am not just used to this new uk visa application.

IN THE ONLINE FORM THERE IS A PLACE AM ASKED, if i have ever been denied visa by any country, and state the date if yes.

my problem is..i was denied usa visa in 2010 btw aug and oct, cant remember the exact dates [though i have a valid usa visa now], so my question is what do i write since i cant remeber the exact date i was denied?

That is exactly what you need to write since you can't remember the date, mention the year and month and state why you were refused.

Thats the wahala, the new form just has a drop down for dates.....no space for any other explanation!, and it has a red asterisk, meaning its not something you can avoid answering.....i still have a bunch of other questions,

qst A. What is the cost to you personally of your trip in GBP(£)? can i assume this shud be the total of QST 1+2+3+4?
*
QST 1. The total amount of money you have for this trip. can i assume this should be say half my savings, or 1/3rd etc like btw 1 to 2 million naira?, or roughly the same as answer to question A above?
*
QST 2. The cost of the aeroplane, boat or train tickets
*
QST 3. The cost of your accommodation
*
QST 4. The cost of your living expenses

PLS note: am using hotel booking abt 200k for 14days {my wife and i], flight about 320k [2 persons] then about 100k for feeding/sight seeing and trans in uk = about 620k/2100GBP, so i intend to write this value for qst A, and then maybe 1m for qst 1, my salary is a lil above 300k and i have 3m+ in my savings acct

Yes you have to use the same GWF.you don't need new GWF.
You only need to create account on teleperformer so as to track your application after you must have submitted at their centre.that is the purpose of your registration NOT to register your appointment.

Your job and salary can definitely get you through, but do not make the mistake of referring to her as your "sister" it will be seen as a lie and you could be refused on the basis of that.

I know what you nean, I had been there and had done it for several people before.
Now, in order for the silly online system to allow you to contunue, just write down any date (preferably in 2010) and proceed with the application: and at the end, add a note to explain any error or fault on this line:

"The date given regarding my previous US visa refusal may be inaccurate as the system would not proceed without filling in the required information, therefore, I declare that the date entered is not to the best of my knowledge."

hey @justwise, nice job?.. u d best.. please i need an advice, i'm a medical doctor about to apply for a uk visa to write plab2. i have a salary account but i just got a new job middle of last month, but before then. money has always been going in and out of the account. by the time i would be making the application (less dan a month time), d money in my account would be 420k.. but i also have a fixed deposit account (35 days rollover). my question is do i need to boost my salary account by like 150k, or should i just leave it like that and probably add my fixed deposit account.?

You would have stood a reasonable chance for reason of your profession, but in consideration of your financial circumstances, I doubt your application would be successful

Hello everyone,

This thread is very informative, and really appreciated.

I'm at a juncture where I really need advice on what to do.

I want to apply for a UK Family Visit Visa to visit my blood sister and her husband who are both British citizens.

I had previously applied and got rejected based on the following reasons:

1) The Examiner of my application felt my wanting to travel when my school at the time (in 2012) had accreditation issues, didn't make it believable that I intended to come back even though I still had final exams to take a few months after my planned return.

2) I did not submit my sister's birth certificate and they thought what I submitted wasn't substantial enough to prove that she was my sister.

After that application, my parents and brother applied for a UK Visa to witness the christening of their first grandchild the next year and got granted the visa, though this time a sworn affidavit of my sister's birth certificate was submitted amongst other things.

Now I want to apply so as to witness the christening of my sister's second child, The dilemma I face is I'm 23 and just switched jobs last month, my previous job (which i started 6 months back) had me paid 80k but the new job pays 130k, I have worked there for a month and I have told them i would be taking a 2 week leave late April so as to travel which has been granted in advance.

Although I am not the one sponsoring my trip, My sister is, I thought it is necessary to include my statement which has inflows and outflows for over a year, and i currently have a little under 200k saved in my acc.

I would like to know the following:

1) Is it appropriate to apply this month for the visa so as to give them enough time as i had been previously rejected although I wish to travel April?

2) What documents do I need to provide to improve my chances of been granted the visa?

3) What documents should my sister Provide to back up her sponsorship

4) How do I apply, as I found out it is now online based, and the visa office moved out of the oregun area recently.

I know these are a lot of questions but i would be glad if they are answered.

Thanks in advance
