It was Buhari that involved the military during the WASC certificate scandal when he claimed his certificate was with the military. Though I am not in support of the military being dragged into politics but the fact remains that virtually all institutions in Nigeria have suddenly become partisan directly or indirectly, which is so sad. You can't discuss Nigeria politics without involving the military as they are part of it. I could understand IBB, he is a General and a great army officer, so he won't be happy seeing a fellow general and the army be politicized.

Buhari politicised d military by a sworn affidavit by him that d military was in possession of his certificate which d military now says it doesn't have. The mistake buhari made was using his wasc as his qualification instead of using d diploma he obtained from oversea schools. If he had used his diploma just like gej used his phd nobody would b interested in his wasc. But suspicion arose when he used wasc as qualification but provided an affidavit. Buhari only has himself to blame,I mean, why didn't he just provide his wasc instead of affidavit?

Buhari brought the military into this mess.
Blame no one but Buhari for directing INEC to collect his certificate from the military instead of presenting it like others did.
There is absolutely no way anyone other than Buhari himself can be blamed for this...

He could have also referred INEC to WAEC, Cambridge or his school instead of mentioning the military. He should have applied for the certificate himself instead of swearing an affidavit too.
There are just many things he could have done rather than involve the military.
Buhari gets the blame 100%

IBB is a liar.

The Nigerian army is not an institution of unity but a tool of oppression and intimidation.

If the Nigeria army was a an institution of unity how come that different criteria of entry point is required for different ethnic groups in the same army.
IBB and his cohorts actually thought that we are stupid not to have seen how they have hijacked the institution to serve the interest of the North for more than 40yrs.

Let IBB explain to us how a military plane crash in Jaji that killed over 256 military officers were all of Southern extraction, what really happened? what were his motives and agenda?

Jonathan's visit was only a formality, an average Southerner is already aware that no living former head of state from the North would support his presidency even if he should make Kano another London overnight unless for those that their heads are still stuck in their asss.

The Nigerian military is not an institution of unity but a tool of oppression and I pray that Jonathan should decimate them in the North East let's see which region would be using it to threaten any region that wants to move forward. If I were Jonathan the Nigerian army would be begging for knives by now.

Everybody is sai..ng "Go to court".

..And I ask, which one is better, safer and simpler between going to court and Buhari requesting his certificate from Cambridge?

The PDP should never go to court. They should exploit the media taunts and leave Buhari grappling for straws.

Let it be recorded in history that a presidential candidate went into elections with a huge scam of certificate scandal hanging on his neck.

..and IBB, he claimed sometime, that you took his certificate when you struck.

• Nnamdi Azikiwe was 79 when he contested for presidency in 1983.
In conclusion, I am not an apostle for recycling old politicians but I
am averse to people like Ayo Fayose pushing twisted and one-sided
history in our faces. I just want to show that all over the world
senior citizens get elected and most of them see their tenure through.
In fact a few of them die in office. Only Tôn Đức Thắng of Vietnam
died in office. You can research this fact. Ironically none of dead
presidents on Fayose’s statics in the Punch was up to 70 as at the
time of their death. This shows how confused this Ekiti governor is.
Please let us contribute to knowledge, the fact that some elements are
privileged to be in seat of power doesn’t mean we cannot engage
intelligently. People like Ayo Fayose should be told that the white
didn’t hide things in books for black people like us. Let the game
continue, we will serve them while it is hot.

I have learnt a lot from the Buhari certificate monomania.
Since it happened, I started looking for all my certificate and
school report cards. In fact I have safely kept the receipt for
my jamb form, post jamb, lecture notes, textbooks, photos
even my secondary school P.T.A receipts and photocopy of
my transfer form too, who knows if anybody may request for
it. If someone who schooled before independence can be ask
to present his certificate, then who am I?If you are lucky
enough to still have your secondary school uniform and
sandal please, keep it because I still have mine right from my
kindergarten days. Who knows any clueless person can ask for
it?So currently, I'm searching for the sharpener and

IBB is just covering his own backside because he along with Abacha and hundreds of other unqualified Hausa/Fulani muslims used the same back door route into the army and up its ranks. Abacha didn't even meet the army's height requirements and he became a general. Google Harold Wilson, a British colonial officer who confessed how this scheme was planned by the British colonial government. This stuff is very, very deep.

This is the real story of how Nigeria decayed and until we find the courage to face our own history and learn from it, the same group of people will keep playing us up and down like footballs.

It's not unexpected. Many of Nigerian past military Generals including possibly IBB are drop-outs (insults unintended but that's the truth). So, if we all agree that birds of identical plumage flock together, IBB's subtle view on GMB's shameful certificate brouhaha should not come to us as a surprise. In a civilised and professionally regimented military climes, many of the socalled Generals are supposed to be baby-seaters or crude farmers. IBB should keep quite instead of reopening old wounds on crimes he committed against humanity. While his twin-brother in evil (GMB)truncated the then Nigerian nascent democracy in 1983, he(IBB) annuled the freest and fairest election in our polical history in 1993. They are still talking today simply because Nigeria is a nation that has acute memory loss syndrome.

Nothing is more offensive than the bold. You see my problem with people like you is that you can't separate politics from tribal interest. What is treachery? What makes me a traitor? Is PDP a SS party? Is the election between the Ijaws/SS and the North or between GEJ(PDP) and GMB(Buhari)? If anyone is to be called a traitor, that should be GEJ and PEJ plus all the Ijaws in PDP that supported Wike's candidacy against riverine aspirants. Maybe you don't know the meaning, cos if you do, you won't say it in the first place. You are taking this politics too personal and with pains, it is a big shame and a low for someone of your calibre.
The bold offended you but you were not offended by the first paragraph of my comment as you have already accepted your place as a second class citizen in this country.

what has Ijaw and ethnicity got to do with this ?
Am I an Ijaw man? undecided
What is at stake here is not about the Ijaws or any ethnic minority - It is about a system that must be corrected before we can play that politics of national interest as the people you have chosen to be your messiah never had any good interest for your own people and right now it is obvious and what is even more shameful is that people like you that has seen the oppression and deprivation are still too blind to see.I have seen them for who they are - Continue with your blind bathimeus life, the truth will consume you one day.

My eyes are wide open and I will speak my mind irrespective of how anyone wants to feel - If you're not ok with my stand please make yourself a noose for the sake of our generations unborn. You are too blind

Buhari politicised the military when he left the barracks because of the lure of power to stage a coup in 1983. It's funny that those criminal elements who politicised the military are now warning about the politicising the military. Buhari himself brought the military into the certificate thing. Journalists started bombarding the military with questions and they decided to answer the questions by telling us what they know about the Buhari's certificate. How is that politicising the military?

Fool, IBB, and Abacha staged that coup. IBB was supposed to be Head of state in 1983 but Buhari was his senior, so they settled for Buhari. Read and be informed. http://waado.org

Just stumbled upon this on facebook.Could this be true?"By 1960, shortly after Nigeria's independence, the Prime Minister, Alhaji Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa, had directed the Principal of King's College, Lagos, Mr. P.H. Davies, to provide places, annually, for at least 15 boys from the North, whether or not they passed the requisite regular entrance examination."
--- Col. Ben Gbulie (rtd) in "Nigeria's Fivei Majors" p. 36, published first in 1981.
"In an attempt to catch up militarily with the South, the Northern politicians had thrown out all discretion. They had lowered standards of admission drastically, settling for the minimum. For as I recalled, all the Northerners in my intake had been trained at the Mons Officer Cadet School in Aldershot. And they had become officers after barely six months of military training, whereas those of us who had been sent to Sandhurst had had to do two long years to earn the Queen's Commission. The implications were quite clear - and most disturbing. Not only had these Northerners become commissioned officers before we were half-way through our first year at Sandhurst, they had all risen to the enviable rank of Captain before we could even appear at the sovereign's parade which served essentially as a prerequisite for our passing out as Second Lieutenants."
--- Col. Ben Gbulie (rtd) in "Nigeria's Five Majors, pages 12 - 13, Published 1981.
"By 1964 a group of young Nigerian officer-cadets, mostly Northerners, had been declared academically unfit and hence repatriated by the Canadian military authorities. These cadets were however pronounced commissioned by the Nigerian Federal Government no sooner than they had arrived at the Ikeja Airport. Consequently they had had to be absorbed into the Nigerian Army as commissioned officers, even though they had received no requisite military training."
----- Col Ben Gbulie (rtd) in "Nigeria's Five Majors" page 13, published 1981.
"Zak (Maimalari) had held the rank of Captain in 1960. But before my return from the United Kingdom in 1963, he had soared to the top rank of Brigadier. In other words, he had risen from Captain to Temporary/Major, to Substatntive/Major, to Temporary/Lieutenant-Colonel, to Substantive/Colonel and then to Brigadier, all within that short span of time. It was just scandalous"
----- Col. Ben Gbulie (rtd) in "Nigeria's Five Majors" page 13, published 1981

Very scandalous if found to be truth.

Meanwhile what did southern army boys do then?
Folded their arms and watching impunity going on against their future?

Here we are today.....at a cross road. If truely southerners dominated Nigerian Army then, hw come northerners over took them (scandalous) without raising flag
