If I have a daughter certainly I wouldn't encourage her to settle with a guy who's below our socio-economic strata. However, I'd encourage and tutor her on the need to be self-reliant and not depend on any man for any of her needs.

I'll imbibe in her the culture of always striving hard to afford whatever she wants and never allow a man who she isn't married to provide her with anything as that could only result to him having the mentality that it's his entitlement to play her around like pack of cards.
