Praise the lord!
I got my 6 months visa today after being refused last month.
Thanks to everyone in this forum who have contributed one way or the other. I took my time and read from the first page of this thread to avoid asking unnecessary questions and it really paid off. I can actually pass for a visa agent with the wealth of knowledge I gained here. *wink*

Special Thanks to Justwise for taking your time to answer questions here patiently. May God bless you immeasurably. I really learnt a lot.
Thanks to Iblaw for responding to my enquiry.
Would also like to acknowledge 3sha4lyf for the wonderful format for cover letter to the ECO.
#Godwin

What was the reasons given by the ECO that lead to last month refusal and what did you do to get ur visa from them? Let us learn from ur experience.

I'm a single lady, mid 20's, salary a little below 200k, no investments, no landed property, salary account closing balance a little above 800k as at time of application. Applied for visit/tourist visa on August 11 at Ikeja center and received package on August 25.
I was refused based on large deposits on my account that I didn't account for and not providing enough evidence for the ones I accounted for.
I have 4 large deposits on my account. 2 from me and 2 from other persons. I explained the 2 from other persons and ignored the 2 I paid in myself because I felt since my name reflected it wouldn't matter, but I was wrong. The annoying thing about the refusal was that my int passport was stamped at d back.
I reapplied on August 31 at Ikeja center explaining all large deposits and added evidence. I received a phonecall from them on Sept 9, phone interview lasted for 5 minutes. On Sept 10, I was going through photocopy of my cover letter and application form and noticed I made some mistakes, this made me consider withdrawing my visa application, as a matter of fact I was already filling d withdrawal form online and I suddenly changed my mind. I started attending winners chapel at my area every evening and never missed communion. I borrowed OGreene's prayer point about not being refused a 2nd time and I keyed that into my prayer every morning. I received my package sept 15. I was granted 6 months visit visa.

I stumbled on this forum while searching for some answers during my first visa application and was a silent reader all through because most of my enquiries have been treated over and over again but I had to register in order to ask a question when I was refused.

I would really like to commend all the gurus here who take out time out of their busy schedule to answer question here. I have learnt a lot and like frontpagelawyer, I would like give back to the public in my own little way.

@Justwise, Abeg chop kiss. The way you attend to people here with so much patience, wisdom and humility is enviable. May God continue to bless you.

Good afternoon All,

Please I need advice on how to go about this.

A new tenant (close family friend) moved into my mums house mid this year and the rent was paid into my account. There was no tenancy agreement between us. The house is still in my mums name (Im her only child, havent done much about changing her name to mine on her properties)

How can I explain this in my statement of account.

I have a fairly good job.. earn a little over 300k monthly and that also reflects in my statement and can I use her house documents in my application (she didnt leave a will)

please advice

Just the way you explained it here but you don't need to add her house documents as your salary is good enough depending on how many days you will be spending in the UK

Hello Everyone,

Thanks to the encouragements of this wonderful house I was able to visit the UK and return in April 2015 after 3 weeks holiday.

I need some advice again, my 6months visa has expired and I was thinking of applying for two years. It's targeted at saving cost and reducing stress due to frequent visits to the embassies i.e every 6 months.

I don't know if they will consider it because I heard they prefer to issue 6months visa for visits. Also I hear they've included medical fees for visas above 6months.

Thanks for the help!

Hi all

I need some advice on the bank statements I will need to supply to Sheffield for hubbys spouse visa application

My bank statements are online PDFs ive printed, and I seem to be just going over everything like a million times.

I have seen conflicting information

in the immigration appendix it states this:

(1) on official bank stationery; or
(2) electronic bank statements which are either accompanied by a letter
from the bank on its headed stationery confirming that the documents are
authentic or which bear th
e official stamp of the issuing bank on every
page.

All my pdf have headed paper etc.

has anyone had to get these stamped, my bank NatWest have said they do not stamp statements.

Please advise

thanky you smiley

100k and 200k was paid in by other persons while 100k and 60k was paid in by me

Honestly don't know from what range they refer to as 'Large deposits'.

'large deposit' is simply amount that is out of sync with the inflows in your account over time or salary. Amount abnormal when compared with the money that has been entering your account.

Compare the printout with the standard bank statement we get from post if they both contain the same info then you got nothing to worry about.

There is no truth in that. You will be issued 2 years visa if you met the requirements and medical surcharge is for those going to live in the UK for more than 6 months

@Lexusgs430 and @Justwise

The ones they post are quite shite lol, the ones i printed online are much better and more detailed, think i will phone the immigration number online to ask and ill record the phone call

Theres a group on facebook called "I love my 'foreign' spouse: defend the rights of cross-border couples" which I follow and noticed someone put on there about it

A solicitor also messaged me on here that happens to be in Portsmouth where i reside, so I may message them too

Would it raise red flags that I recently had a Natwest bank loan, which i decided to take out to consolidate my small creditors and tidy up my accounts which as a result I have much less outgoings?

I have a letter from Natwest, the loan was just £4000.

thanks
