the best time to plant a mango tree is 20years ago, the 2nd best time is now. All our past leaders have failed but doesnt mean that we should not pressurise the current leader to do the right thing.

Go to ogun state and see the kind of massive limestone mining and cement industries they have.
Go to kogi and see the massive coalmine/power plant construction that is ongoing
Go to Edo and see the ongoing mining activity they just started.

But here in Enugu nothing is been done about our coal. What happened to the "coal to energy scheme" the past governor planned.

Does the state governor, his deputy, commissioners and Local govt all drive an innoson car? NO. But we want FG to patronize it when our state does not. So how do we promote our own?

They acquire toyota cars for our police when innoson is there. Umunnem o odimma?

Lets look inwards and develop our region.

Nobody has replied or answered my question.

Why did the IGR of Enugu state drop from 19billion to 14billion?

If you are working with the governor or you are close to him, tell him its time to man up and make Enugu state great.
Let him look for business/energy patners that will construct a coal power plant for industrial layouts in the state. Dangote is currently building a gas fired plant in Lagos for his refinery, so i dont see why we cant build our own powerplant here in enugu that will serve and attract companies around the world.
Lets stop pretending as if all is well, the earlier we speak up the better for us.

I know you guys are viewing this thread and there are no comments coming from you guys because you are waiting for someone to upload some random pictures of the state or some on-going road work somewhere... What we need is an industrial revolution in this state, we need to industrialize now for our future.

We have the coal to produce electricity.
We have the man power to man this power plant
we have the land

What we need is for the governor to take the bull by the horn.
There are many investors who are willing to support him.
A 500MW of coal fired plant we change the lives of every Enugu resident.
It will attract both local and foriegn firms
It will improve our HDI
It will our health sector
SME will florish greatly as they wont bother about buying petrol again
Tourism in the state will increase
It will generate massive revenue for the state.
The list is endless.

We can do this, and we have to put hands together and achieve that.

Lets cease from posting those random pictures. Its a distraction from the main thing we need in the state- POWER.
What we need now is electric power for industrial revolution.
Let that be the only thing we ll discuss in this forum/thread until they construct one.

FG alone does not reserve the right to power plant construction, because Dangote is constructing one in Lagos and one in Kogi, and these are private power plants that will power his private company and booste the economy of these states.

Yet we claim we are the "Coal City State"

HEYWAYA:
The claim that agbaelu people have higher standard of living than Umu Enugwu can only be an ideation of a disturbed agbaelu mind inebriated on a large dose of 'bitters' they produce. Anambra is rotten, and so are her people and her way of life. The standard of living of those living in gullies and swamps can only compare to those of hippos, and never to those of humans living in clean environment under the cover of touristy palms.
The older generation of agbaelu people - who are now dead and gone, may have achieved one or two things, but the imbeciles they left behind are incapable of saving these achievements from rot.
This is why the only news heard about Onitsha is all about rot: pollution, ritual and destruction. The few remaining sane people from have all fled, and only Enugu people are left to give a fresh lease of life to this massive, decaying hell-hole
This is why the only coordinated loading pit in Onitsha is a Peace Park, the only decent space is an Ifesinachi Plaza, and the only 'rated' tertiary institution remains the enterprise of an Enugu son.
I personally have more stake in Onitsha than any mouth-breathing agbaelu cretin running wild on Nairaland.
Imbeciles don't run an economy. They lack coordination, and they will rather run it to the ground. The fact that Anambra has become the least-performing economy in the South-east within a very short time is a perfect case study.
What bearing does this your rant have on what is being discussed?

If you have relations in the north, better call them and ask them to come back now for their lives.

Our people always claim they don't watch news or some silly excuse. The northern people have asked them to leave and they better comply because there is a real plan to massacre them if they don't.

Watch
4:20, 5.30, 8:00. If you watch the entire video you will see the speech is more about the north's determination to secede then appropriate Igbo properties in the north.

Before Ugwuanyi took over from Sullivan Chime, the IGR of Enugu
state between 2013-2014 was 19billion but by 2016-2017 it has
dropped to 14billion, while at thesame period the IGR of Ogun
state rose from 18billion in 2013-2014 to 72billion by 2016-2017.
There is no other person to blame than Ugwuanyi who has failed to
attract or develop investment opportunities in Enugu state. Right
now Enugu cannot compete with kaduna and kano states in terms
of IGR. Funny enough when you highlight these problems online,
his media crew, kinsmen and 042 faithfuls will attack you, you can
confirm that in Enugu threads/forums.

the main reason why the IGR fell was due to change in govt, i believe we shld be expecting nothing less than 25billion by the end of 2017
