Hey vicjustice, thanks for the headsup.. It really indeed will save millions. Am new on this platform and am really struggling to understand how to use it..

Firstly, do I need to download any Nairaland app b4 I can post anything? Have been trying for over an hour to ask people questions but I didn't find the means to type them until now.

Secondly, how do I follow conversations about applying for visa and the most likely questions I need to prepare for. I just applied to a school in the US. Although am yet to receive my i20, I just feel I need to get myself familiarised with stuffs as resumption for summer is just around the corner. I need to be able to follow up, ask questions and contribute my own quota to topics pertaining to obtaining US visa successfully.

Thirdly, you mention in your post that we should give enough time for the embassy to process ones application to avoid denial based on that ground. Please how much time would you suggest?, and what if resumption is a few weeks away, what do you?

So sorry to bother you with all these questions, its just that am confused and I need someone's who is quite familiar with such issues or has gotten his or her visa to help a sister in need. Thanks.
Firstly: Although you can download the app, but i do not use it because, i prefer the website whether using PC or Android.

Secondly: The questions are on the application form.
Know that it is not every visa applicant that is called for interview, and whether an applicant is interviewed or not does not guarantee that a visa application will be approved or refused: and if you worry about the questions that may be asked in the event that you are interviewed, then focus on these:
Why have you chosen the particular course?
Why have you chosen this particular school?
Why do you want to travel abroad for your study?
Why the United States?
Who is sponsoring you?
Why is s/he sponsoring your?
What does your sponsor stand to gain from your education?
What would you do after studying?

Thirdly: I wrote that post when timing and duration was an issue, there wasn't standardised durations for the various categories of visa application then.

This is a no-news that just narrowly escaped the label of Fake News, yet it made it to front page: by the way, the title in the front page makes it more or less a fake news.

You still haven't refuted what i said that is wrong about Turkish women to make you think that i never stayed in Turkey.
And apart from having lived in Turkey in the past, if you are willing to know when was the last time that i stayed in Turkey, here is a video of it.

What is wrong in what i wrote about Turkish women?
Oh, you think Turkish women date black people?
First of all, you need to realise that it is a taboo (to the vast majority people) in Turkey for a girl to have a non-muslim boyfriend, and that it could be death mission for a girl to be in a relationship that involves sexυal intercourse.
As much as i hate to play the race card, but i should bring to your attention that Turkish people are only a little better than Arab people in their views about black people: Arab people are the worst toward blacks, many of them still believe that owning black slaves is ok.

@Vicjustice
Sir, God bless you for making out time to contribute on several topics, questions and suggestions. And please ignore all the nay sayers. Please sir i have been offered a scholarship to study in Hungary, i have three questions and i would appreciate your advice and your suggestions.
1. While studying in Hungary during holidays can i go to another Schengen state and work during the holidays?

2.After my studies assuming am working in Hungary can i relocate to another Schengen state? If yes please give me example or suggestions considering avaliability of work as a major factor.

3.While working and residing in Hungary after studies please what are the possible ways of migrating to Canada or USA to find work( i mean menial jobs or proper job).
With am of working and returning home to start a business.

Please @Vicjustice and all nairalanders in this forum who have travelled your advise, positive suggestions and contribution are welcomed. Thanks and remain blessed. Happy Christmas in advance.
1. Although you can travel to any Schengen state and remain for up to three months, but (as a holder of a Hungarian visa/residence permit) you are not entitled to work in any other Schengen state: working in another Schengen state is a breach of the terms and conditions of the visa/permit, and that could incur cancellation of the visa/permit.

2. After your study, (assuming you now work with an Hungarian long term resident permit) you still can not work in another Schengen state except you apply for a professional job and your employer applies for work permit for you.
Another way that you may be entitled to work in another Schengen state is if you are a spouse of an EU citizen, in this case, you can relocate (together with your spouse) to any EU country under the EU Treaty Rights.

3. Hungarian citizens do not need visa to Canada for tourism, yet, they need visa to reside for more than three months or to work therein. As a Nigerian with Hungarian visa or work permit, the only way you can migrate to Canada from Hungary is through their visa programmes (the same way that a home-based Nigerian would apply for a visa).

I'm not sure whether there is any special kind of mail that you should send to the US embassy informing them of the change.
But, instead of jeopardising your application and risking refusal record against your name, why not withdraw the application?
In my opinion, i think this last moment change of circumstance may have negative impact on the application as it suggest poor organisation and inconsistency, i hope i'm wrong.

Vicjustice is No objection certificate NOC (which i think is the same as letter from school) compulsory for a student traveling on holiday? And if yes when you present the letter to them as proof of ties to home country during the interview will they run check on it by taking it along with the primary documents? Am not a student but i want to use NOC as a ties to home country although as a tourist NOC is not among the required documents....
If you are travelling abroad as a student, especially during school activity period, you would be expected to provide such letter as a prove that your travel is ok with the school and your study schedule: but whether the embassy "run check" on the document or not depends on the discretion of the visa officer. But i can inform you that it takes no time for them to telephone the school for verification, and if you are caught, you would be banned for life. Is it worth it?

Hello gurus here
@vicjustice and @justwise
I had a little arguement wothmy boss about SOA today and i need your input
The company's acc has over 300m transaction withim the last 6month but less than 2m as of when the SOA was printed today and boss says the statement is credible enough even with less than 2m as closing bal but i find it difficult to agree with him since the closing bal didnt show enough cash to sponsor me for my trip.
I will like to know if i can go to the embassy with this SOA

NOTE not that the company is broke but all cash has been used to restock.. Help a brother out please, my interview is just few days away. Thanks
Even if the statement of account shows its transaction history, or even if the N300m is still available, how is the company's account and the money in it suitable to be used for sponsoring your trip?

Except the compensation is too little for them to bother, you should be expecting an appeal.
The amount is actually in 7 figures, we actually sued for N20m but offered a significantly reduced compensation.
Understand that I lost about €3000 (three thousand Euros) on air tickets as a result of Ups' negligence and other legal costs through the process of pursuing justice: ups had the chance to settle out of court, but they chose to lie in defence of their negligence.
I doubt they want to appeal because, their barristers are obviously glad to see it come to an end.
To be honest, I am the one considering appealing the quantum because, I expected to get more compensation than what is being offered: either way, I'm glad to have the victory. Alway sue and sue until corruption is down.

Thanks guys for your interest and support in this matter.
After 8 years of prolonged battle with UPS, today, the case has finally come to an end.
The judge in a Benin high court ruled in my favour and the courier giant has been ordered to pay a compensation: however, the amount is not what i was expecting.
The good thing is that i was able to cause their knee to buckle: had it been that people have the habit of bringing law-suits against giant entities including Police, there would have been less corruption in Nigeria.
Please, ladies and gentlemen, follow suit and form a habit of legally challenging those giants who violate you: stop that lazy mindset of leaving "everything to God" and learn to fight for your right if you can, just fight as hard as you can and leave the rest.

Hello Everyone,

I have completed an only university program in USA and I am about to apply for a USA visa to attend my graduation. I would like to go with my dad. I have traveled many times to the UK and currently have a valid 2years schengen visa which wouldn't have expired when I apply for the visa. I earn 500k plus. My dad has also traveled to UK and Itali before but was denied USA visa in 2002. I would sponsor myself and he will also sponsor himself. Kindly let us know if we stand a high chance of being granted the visa. We have no business to remain in the USA because we have very good jobs and also have many properties like land, cars, house.
Thank you
Well, based on your travel history and your financial condition, I would say that you have a good chance if things are done well.
But I hope that tthe reasons for your dad's American visa refusal back then didn't include misrepresentation in the perspective of the visa officer: it it does, that may mean he's excluded from the USA for life.

Hello Mr Vicjustice,
Please I am in a dilemma :
I have questions based on my profile.
I have been denied US visa, twice in 2009 and once in 2012. First denial was on educational purposes while second was on visiting.
I have also be denied UK visa in 2008 based on the submission of falsified WAEC document which i wasn't aware of. I applied again in 2010 and was also denied based on the first denier. The second denier stated,a 10 years ban have been applied since my first denier.
I have then studied in Cyprus for my Bsc and graduated with a 1st class in 2013. I have also been to Germany for a conference in 2012.
MY QUESTION: I am planning to go for my Msc in Australia for Febuary 2018. Hope the UK and US denier wont affect my VISA application?
Please I need an urgent response
The Australian immigration does not share common database with with any of these countries that you mentioned, so it's highly unlikely that they would find out about your UK incident. However, you would be required to answer questions like "have you ever applied for a visa for any country, was the visa issued?"
"Have you ever been refused a visa for any country?
"
So, what would you answer to these questions?
Bear in mind that the fact that they do not share a common database does not mean that they do not share intelligence.

Good Morning VicJustice,

My big brother is married with a child and his wife is expecting a second child. He resides in the church compound and he is a priest in an Anglican church. The church secured a conference for him and the venerable to attend in the U.S. He went for his visa interview on September 27th, 2017 for that conference that the church is sponsoring him and the venerable to attend in the US, he was denied visa because the interviewer thinks that he wouldn't come back after the conference. He had all the necessary documentation that is required for the interview, including hotel reservation, travel date, and returned date. My question is how could the interviewer determine that he would not come back when it is the church that is sending him to the conference so that he will go there and participate, learn some stuff that he will come back to the church and train the other young priests.

He and the venerable has a different interview date. The conference was secured for both of them for the second week in November 2017.

The venerable has his interview coming up on the 5th of October what are the chances that he will be granted a visa? Also the venerable went for a visa interview last year that the church sponsored too and he was denied visa too, I don't know the reason why they didn't grant him visa then, now he is going again for conference visa for the second time.

What can my big brother do to obtain a visa for that conference being that the conference was already paid for?

Please, any help will be gladly appreciated.
Remember that your brother is not in a conventional employment, so, it is likely that the visa officer does not consider the Church as a bona-fide employment setting, therefore, the officer might not want to rely on the mercy of your brother's moral discretion to abide by the visa condition.
Perhaps you brother needs more of the church backings and even a guarantor.

Good evening everyone. A friend applied for the f1 students visa but he was denied on the 6th of this month, June. according to him, he was anxious and as a result couldn't answer the questions well even though he knew them.
He was asked that "why did you choose the school". how said the fee is affordable for his sponsor, they have good infrastructures, and the climate is like that of Nigeria, which will help him to adapt easily.
He said where he got it wrong is that he didn't know anything about the city, and they asked that. and that he was too nervous.
what advice do you have for him?
Oh, you're such a nice guy asking all these questions for your "friend"
But how about you tell your "friend" about this forum so he can ask these questions himself

I REALLY CANT REMEMBER IS BEEN OVER 4YEARS then my ckunsellor said they will ask for the refusal letter in the school am applying to as well as the embassy. My question is HOW CAN I GET THE REFUSAL LETTER.or is there anything that can be done about it.Your uttmost response will be appreciated.
Thank you
Simply answer by saying that the visa officer stated that h/he wasn't satisfied that you fulfilled all requirements, and that the explanation was rather vague to your understanding.

Good morning House,
I was sent a statement Letter from Austrian Embassy that they feel I have insufficient fund in my account and they believe I will not return if I travel. Am give 7 days to reply and tell them otherwise or risk visa denial.I want to know if sending another bank statement that has sufficient money and telling them I have a son here who is still tender and showing the a pic of us will do. Cause am a student and still single but have a child. What are your advice pls.
The solution is not "sending another bank statement that has sufficient amount of money", the issue is whether the bank statement meets the requirements which include your relationship with the sponsor and why he or she is sponsoring you.
Also, it would be hard for a visa officer to consider your child as a tie to return to Nigeria for.

Being informed that you are entitled to appeal is not the same thing as being told to appeal.

Well, the main issue that i see here is the sponsor that you presented, it is not an ideal thing to present an "uncle" or anybody who is not your parents, sibling or spouse as a sponsor: this is perhaps what they meant by insufficient documentation, which may mean that the document provided in regard to sponsor is not sufficient as the sponsor is not deemed appropriate.
