Hello,i am wondering also for myself about getting nigerian pssport...I owned one as a youngster before i was 16 years old....last time i saw my passport was when i was 16 years old -decades ago...I went abroad and never concerned myself with it again...i know the application process and i must pay extra for the lost passport after officially reporting it missing...the problem is i do not know the passport number and that is a requirement on the replacement application for lost passport...I am also dual citizen...What will be the solution for me to proceed without the old passport and no knowledge of the old passport number THANKS ANYONE....I am willing to travel to Nigeria on visa to nigeria in my foriegn passport and then apply for nigerian passport there if it is simpler that way with my nigerian cousin in lagos to testify to our same nigerian grandfather(deceased-1988)....I have over 1 year before i plan to arrange trip to nigeria again....thanks |
somewhere safe from the BOKO HARAM and any other raving members of nairaland who want revenge for no satisfaction from this graciously free social service ("FREE"- unless you advertise or other commercial affair).... |
if the car is burning so much fuel, you will smell it in the exhaust...if it is leaking it from the fuel tank or fuel lines, you will smell it...If it is as bad as you say, then there may be enough fuel to stop the engine by fooding but fuel injections dont really allow that.IF YOU CHECK THE ENGINE OIL FOR SMELL OF GASOLINE......you are in nigeria,so if you have not noticed the high smell of fuel from your exhaust or around your car when parked,,PLEASE CONSIDER THAT IF YOU DID NOT KEEP YOUR FUEL TANK CAP LOCKED OR EVEN IF LOCKED,DID SOME ONE NEAR THE PLACES YOU PARK,COME AND STEAL GAS FROM YOUR CAR EVERY DAY,WHO HAS KEY TO YOUR FUEL TANK ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
the nigerian prison system is hell and most foriegners know this and they also know there is poor record of justice in nigerian courts...The mans suicide is most likeley a statement of the horror of nigerian justice and prison system for how even death is a better fate to him than the nightmare of nigerian due process...The Italian people and other nations are looking at this and seeing the messy hell of nigerias government and corruption culture, and they are probably thinking that the suicide death of the Italian is not as bad as the fate of Nigeria.......I personally reserve the notion that many foriegners who come to make money in Nigeria try to join in the coruption culture thinking its so easy to go unseen in nigeria...Some nigerians frown more on foriegners stealing from nigeria than nigerians stealing from nigeria...... |
I drove a SUBARU legacy AWD 1999 model from 2002 until 2007...I had only front end problems and 0xegen sensor problems..any way my point is to say that i went to the dealer mechanic and i said i think maybe transmission has problem,he said "guarantee its not gear box, because i have never seen a SUBARU gear box damaged in my life....Camry in USA has recently undergone recall for manufacture errors and also other toyota products..honda had maybe 1 recal for manufacture error and that started when they moved the factory for toyota and honda to USA...USA does not make cars as good as europe and japan....Honda is #1 in risk to be stolen...Camry sells less cars than honda accord now....The world record car for mile/kilometres on the road is a toyota land cruiser from around 1979 year and it is still on the road today after many rebuilds and maintainance..It has driven throughout africa in the bush/rough roads by a white family researching africas wildlife...Toyota is best fro off road 4W drive and honda is a close race with toyota for road sedan cars....I cannot make the choice myslf either...if buying used, you may find that you must choose which is in the best conditoin and not really the best car...if you know how to maintain your cars basic requirements,no problem on either make of car...most bad reputation to cars come from people who want thier car to drive 2 years without ever service the car and then say its a bad car when it breaks down after no service for 2 or 3 years.....Any car that last 2 years without any oil change or other service is a good car and a bad owner.... |
The first year of any business is not to be expected to be profitable because time it takes to get customers knowing you and the time it takes to learn the patterns of the location you choose....start up cost is the main big factor and the start up cost should be rationed off into several years of profits as you would in paying off a loan...dont assume start up cost is an every year expense...first year should expect to not make profit or very little......The next year could not include buying the young fish if you keep small breeding pond which will have few fish making hundreds of babies...there are people who farm insects and worms for fishermen, and the cricket and worm operations take little space and feed...fish castings do well in the soil that can then be compoted back to the worm farm and the worm farm can feed fish and also fertilize garden crop which can feed insect farm and garden can compost back to the worms.....Think ECO system as no one feeds the fish in the natural eco system...if you can invest in maintaining an eco system, then you can have self sustaining fish farm...Fish pond will grow algea, there are fish that you can get that remain smalll and eat algea..rotate the cat fish and tilapia away from algea infested pond and put in the algea eaters and then make a regular cycle,if the algea eaters get to breed so many to manage, put them in to be eaten by the catfish and tilapia....In termite season, one can catch 1 months worth of fish food in one night...the list of options go on..people raise chickens in open land no feed bout for them.the chicken becomes food for people but also food for fish...there are people who collect blood from slaughter houses to cook it into blood meal pellets to make animal/fish feed......The start up cost must be endured and if you like to work, there are so many ways to make it work out....i love fish farm and i grew up with small fish farm in ondo state, but the pond was in ground about 3000gallon and water came from natural spring in the ground with native small fish finding thier way into the fish pond and also open to insects and lizards, snakes e.t.c ,the fish would eat anything of small size that falls into thier home.....i prefer to have land in a water soaked area (where many will not buy the land for a house) And take advantage of the natural ecosystem.......it depends on how much work and money can be put into it.....oCEAN FISHING AND OTHER WILD CAUGHT FISH ARE A DWINDLING MARKET AS THE ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES IN THE WORLD AND POPULATION INCREASE,TAX NATURAL RESOURCES..THE DEMAND FOR FARM FISH WILL ONLY BE RISEING AND ALREADY IN USA,THERE ARE WARNINGS OF MERCURY POISION RISK IN WILD OCEAN FISH...SO PEOPLE WILL CONTINUE TO DEMAND INCREASED PRODUCTION FOR SAFETY FROM MERCURY TOXIN AND ALSO THE DECREASE IN WORLD SUPPLY OF OCEAN FISH.....gO FISH FARMERS... |
Its standard procedure in Nigeria to rent a house and pay 1 to 3 years rent before moving in and paying for a car before it is on site for a test drive and so on...In USA this is not the normal way of business...normal way of business is for customer to have his money ready and the seller to have his or her product ready, while the seller makes effort to show the appeal of the offering....Internet site unseen transactions in USA are filled with security measures as in a fully traceable credit system in the country that requires all participants to register with well established identification markers such as SS numbers and other IDs which are linked to each other and birth certification and last official address and character references e.c.t. nigeria has so little of these measures and weak measures where they do exist..above all,in USA when fraud is notified,it is immediately forwarded to security measures and when it is comfirmed, there are so many well equipped agencies to tackle the matter...Nigeria is a very different story where even an effective tax collection system for business being done there -is lacking...people are able to get away with organizeing elaborate shcemes of fraud by paying off the very security measure officers placed to help....In USA its not so easy...People get away with crime in USA,but not the level of crime that would shut down the market or damage its reputation so severely....I expect that if i ship a car to Nigeria,i do so with money i already have and then i arrive there to meet whoever will buy it to see the car and drive it with me,i expect to meet face to face with the car/documentation after test drive ,before making any agreement for deposit or full payment..buyer must have money at hand and seller must have viable product on hand to call it a good deal...Even in USA ;land of hieghtened security,we rent month to month,we buy face to face..Why is Nigeria so loose in its transaction security? Also there is more risk in face to face deal in Nigeria where any high value item brought out to show and sell,is at risk of being lured into a hijacking scheme e.t.c Insurance is good in USA,law enforcement for bad auto purchase(lemon law) is good in USA.....Nigeria struggles to well handle its national government administration and that trickles down to evrybody who tries to manage/administer any business in nigeria........there is so much needed, that no one can expect to do much about it anytime soon...Slow process of development... |
Naira land is good, but open forums in the old style like naira land is,they allow threads to be invloved with anyone who agees or not...facebook is like having your own web site where you can add and delete who ever you like and you can allow people to be on your site and not allowed to post or vice versa...i tried to upload my photo on naira land an it would not let me because too much digital info for the site to handle for one picture...face book takes all my pictures and even up to six at one click..Face book appeals to individuals whobring their own web sites or pages together under facebook, whereas nairaland is just one website where everyone just piles in together for better or worse with editing and regulation enforcement left to the moderators or admins.....This is just my comparison....I like Naira land for the fact that more expansive feedback from Nigerians than i can attract on my facebook page -and my face book page would reveal too much to strangers,so naira land is for including strangers and facebook is for keeping contacts with old friends... |
Wow !~ i think if the bank is poor, maybe the robberes are connected to someone who knows the bank officials or the transactions of depostitors?? maybe they hear say big deposit or cash out was going to to be made and they moved in to intercept? I dont know but i hope things rest well for the town soon.... |
Africans are great from the lowest social class to the highest..it was africans that rocketed the growth of Young United States Of America into world prominence (in an unfortunate way)......It was an african first to go into space,(an african chimpanzee actualy). And so maybe even the chimp was exploited where white colonialist did not have what it took to be the first pioneers in truth -taking full resposibility where back breaking work would apply, or uncertain extent of risk in space would apply...only after africans broke the ground, did america go on to flaunt itself as the great pioneers and achievers of the world.......What a funny world we live in.... YES PUT A SMILE ON ALL HUMANS FACES AND LETS MAKE LIFE GREAT IN EVERYBODYS WORLD |
Nigeria and USA are both dual citizenship allowing countries...i held dual citizenship by birth in USA to nigerian and USA parents;and my father holds dual citizenship by birth in Nigeria with marraige to US citizen....Dual citizenship is no problem unless you are employed in certain government forces like military,or other sensitive national security departments..And even so it all depends on which country it is.... |
In the long run,if the pay rises to 100,000.oo naira, then it will attract different kind of people to the proffesion and even attract higher educated people..When you create comfort for police, stress will not so easily grow into angry attitude towards citizens...it will reduce corruption in the long run if you consider the internal affairs renovation for training to make better system of operation from inside the police force out to the public..... |
So with many new cars imported to nigeria,i can see that many would be built to foriegn standards...Some countries sell new cars with out catalytic converters for the exhaust fumes and sell cars without other safety features that are mandatory in USA and yet these less enhanced cars will sell for the same price or more than the enhanced one will in USA where a catalytic converter is thousands of dollars for part alone.....America seems the cheapest place to buy a car in the wolrd because of the extras that come required in those cars and that they manufacture so many makes there....So in some asian countries,if one brought a car from america, when it needed repair, there would be parts problem even with the new car dealer proffessional repair department..if they could do it,it would be expensive............The most common thing with car repair in USA is the computer diagnostic where even the simplest of cars since before 2000 ,have computer interface to read all the cars internal vital function...the computer even tells me if the problem is in my tire....My 2007 car will isolate problem for me on the speedometer screen to say if the problem is the engine or tire or such, after that i must have mechanic plug computer into my car for the precise locatin in the engine that needs work,or if its a sensor needing replace...the sensor in a good car is usually the problem..the car will not start or the check engine light will show warning and when they check the car,all is well with the vital functions but the sensor to read the vital function is broken so it sends signal to say broken and stops car from operating until replace..(some sensors are not needed for car to run,but they design the sensor to guide the cars master computer and if the master computer did not get the signal,it will not route any command to the functions controling the engine, like fuel injection control is precise by computer and airflow is precise computer control..if sensor did not tell master computer hhow much is flowing, the master computer will not do anything and the whole engine will not operate)Most of this computer precision is not nessecary for the car to run,but it is designed in to the car to make the engine use less gas and give the best power and produce less pollution.............-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------HOW COMMON IS THE DIAGNOSTIC COMPUTER AMONG ROAD SIDE MECHANICS IN NIGERIA? OR ARE THEY ONLY IN THE MODERN EXPENSIVE MECHANIC CENTERS?----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------If they dont have the computer to diagnose on road side mechanic, how can they know for sure about modern import car i know some things about car repair and even i get confused some times when electronic computer problem makes car behave like fuel problem or even transmission problem in old cars..and then the computer tells me correct it is simpler problem to replace 1 cheap sensor and sparkplug wires and distribution cap,all was much cheaper than doing fuel and transmission explorarion....---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------I now get the full auto repair guide for my own make of car which is available in USA after only a few years of the cars 1st time sold as new...from there -they show how to take entire car apart and reassemble and also advise when special rare tools is the only option and to get proffesional help...the book does not offer computer diagnostic but it does provide the solution repair method in full detail after a computer has diagnose the problem.....My own advice is to aquire the repair manual for any car being brought from USA,they are not very expensive and can do much help for any one interested in knowing thier car well....After more than 10 years with one car and dealing with its problems ,you will find that there are only so many problems that repeat every few years as the car gets old..A repair manual for full car rebuild can help some one master 1 car and maintain it to last a lifetime ,if it was originally a quality manufacture car...Even if you dont do the mechanic work yourself, you can use it to help your road side mechanic understand his service to your complex modern car... |
Eku is the exclamation of greeting, it intends and infers good tiding for well being....So it does not mean good or well...It infers good or well..but in actuality it is Greetings or tidings..."EKU ARO" would be greetings of the morning,"eku odun" would be greetings of the season or year...EKU IJOKO would be greetings of your sitt in...Eku abo..greetings of your coming..and so on..thats why it precceds anything one would be "greeted for"......Yoruba is one of the closest to original languages...Did you know the word for man OKURIN in yoruba has counter part in old Japan wgere they call a man "OKARI" and a man king "OKA" ...in hawaii they say OKA for man also and OKANE,while the hawaiians have history going back to japanese islands thousands of years ago...egypt old language has word "jo" or pronounced almost like "je" which is the same meaning as the yoruba word for snake "EJO"....the word "Duro" for wait or stop or have patience in yoruba is related to prayer "adura" in yoruba and these words have counterparts in INDIA and spanish, english or any where old latin language influence the speaking....Endurance or endure is as saying enduro as in the ability or act of holding inplace over time...In India where their form of prayer is a stillness in meditation, their word for prayer is "dua" as related to "dura" which relates to "duro"..a prayer style that require one to stop and wait aside from all thoughts and actions and emotions and seek inner endurance through life condition..So no surprise that ancient root for the words marking prayer are synonymous with waiting, staying and enduring...Staying power is having endurance,ma duro(yoruba for wait or stop or stay)......Many yoruba words track far and wide relating across the world in chinese language in native american language, like the use of "MA" as in illocutionary prefix..to be in an act of or to command an act or idea into being...To be in english has the letters BE and in youruba,to be is said BE but pronouce with the ami designation that sound like saying "beh"..its not coincidence that so many similarities to so many languages in yoruba...it is the fact of an original relationship from long ago also marked in genetic language....The list of examples would require volumes for me to complete...nigerians would make good in the field of liguistics if they spoke thier native tounge..tounge is related to taste and toung begins with TO and in yoruba,TO is the word for taste and tounge..So by such logic, tounge is an expanded form of the simplre word TO in yoruba and therby induct/deduct that the simpler word to was the original and the parties that migrated away from africa to far off areas also expande the words and chnged them in other ways...I can think of some words that dont compare in english but i found comparison in french and spaish and some compare in only chinese and some in germanic language...Explore many world languages from the base of nigerian language and see if you too can build a scattered puzzle back to a unified whole, which is what all people of earth are by origin.... |
My father got an MBA in USA in the 1970s and married my mother from the USA and then had us kids and moved us back to his home Nigeria after finding work as lecturer federal polytechnic college in his home state in nigeria,he even rose to Head of department where lectured at...it seemed even as he sat in the head office of his section,we lived an ever deepening poverty even with an america earned MBA...I bordered on malnutrition because always sick malaria and no rich diet to effectively recover my body when malaria brought me down over and over again...in fact we had to flee nigeria with help from my mothers family in USA,and the only thing we had going for us was our american citizenship....we never returned to nigeria since decades ago....My fathers problem was that his salary was more often going unpaid while still required to work to keep his position...You can get there with good job and good qualifications, but mostly the foriegn companies and nigerias wealthy private /corporate entities are more secure for reasonably timely payment of salary.....maybe its improved since my days with my father, but I've seen recent articles of salary payment issues in Nigeria...The big paying jobs are every bodys dream -and even with people gooing in droves for qualifications to be managers/directors and CEO e.t.c,those positions have a less than 1% availability and are usually favored out to those who already are full of employment and success with other companies..Even in USA,the top position go to those coming from other positions because that is where they prove thier ability to be a leader....the utmost leadership is due to the people who when they believe and know right from the start, that they have what it takes, and as such start thier own venture from nothing but time and will power, enduring a postion the same as failure(having nothing to show for much efforts)and persisting inch by inch into being president and CEOP of thier own creation..This is done by the wealthiest drop outs from university(no MBA,no PhD,e.t.c) And now so many MBA and PhD of the various fields want to work for university drop outs like bill gates, mark zucherberg, the late steve jobs and the list even includes large aerospace engineering company founders that service americas airforce and space program.......The security of our own dreams lies in our own hands....or in a more stable and secure country like USA...even the common Nigerian knows this.. |
i forgot to add..When making the oath to be american military;you must pledge to obey all commands to you under the president of USA under penalty of prison and more...Also included is you must pledge all your rights of nationality to the USA..Even if you join as Nigerian, you must renounce your commitment to your country even in the event that USA goes to war against nigeria....I joined army as US and Nigerian dual citizen and i had to Pledge to abandon my nationaliy to nigeria in all its meaning for the duration of my contract with the US army.....if nigeria does end up in conflict with USA,they do also make special conditions to have you choose to stay in the army or to be dismissed for the best interest of the US army,,There is a clause about the army having the right to dismiss some one for no reason other than the armys own needs and it entails that the army will pay you around ten thousand dollars to get lost,,it could be more,i was there over 15 years ago... |
I grew up in nigeria and i also in USA,i am dual citizen since birth my mother USA oyinbo and my father nigerian by birth and his origins...i did 3 years in the US ARMY there and i did not do it for the citizenship needs,i joined as a citizen for the money for university and many other things....i did not have to go to war,and neither did one of my mates in training who still lost one arm and both legs in aircraft accident..we enlisted as basic infantry the front fighting force and trained from hand weapons to bombs to jumping from aircraft..it was from aircraft jump in ordinary trainig -not in war, that accident happened.. jet fighter missed the landing and wiped out his jump crew boarding the C140...It is the lowest score to get to infantry and i got high score,my friend got low score but i still chose infantry because my highscore was put aside by my poor vision by color blindness...but with my high score in infantry,i recieved special selction to be part of the guard for the president of the united states(during clintons office).i was so happy to not go to war..there are so many non war field jobs in the army, but for those with high scores...HIGH scores can make it easy for you even among ranks where low score is required....But military is military...I was working on the personal detail crew for the president and the prestige was lavish but strict hard work with the ease of no war...we covered all dignitary visits to the whitehouse and the pentagon..even so as safe and luxury as it sounds,i am glad i am not burned down inside the pentagon when Al quieda blew it up...In this day and age, dont underestimate the risk you can be in in the US military despite if you dont go to war front and do recieve the best benefits...they will cover all your food with very good restuarant style dinner hall 3 times a day for free and you can eat as much as you like, they will pay all your medical needs no matter how small, your toilet will even have the toilet paper and soap provided and if you can live simply, you may never need to spend any of your modest pay check...many of the enlisted soldiers come from the poor streets of america and bring that recklessnes with them being gangster like in off duty time and drunken and just all the wildness of mind- but with added danger of military pride and power......i dont care to go again, even to be on presidents detail, but i am glad what they gave me,any damages i incurred even on 3 year duty tour with no time at the war front, they still give me a medical condition based pension for life...i can only be happy my problems are not like my training mate who lost 1 arm and 2 legs and he also never went to war,we were in the same army training and 3 years later we met at the same army hospital(Walter reed army medical center DC)...Good luck mate and its a brave man or brave and foolish man who goes and you can overcome if its the plan..part of my duty was funerals for the army in washington DC national cemetary arlington...i did over 1000 army funerals in 2 years and i was part of just 1 small team among many army teams doing funerals from 2 to 5 days a week..most were retired men who died old age, some young died in accidents on holiday or shot by their old gang mates when they went home to visit mother and told the gang ""i am in the army now so i cant run with you no more"..A few died from the conflict zone in somalia and yugoslavia area......good on you mate and my words here are a story to inform you and not advise to say you should or should not go...american citizenship is built upon people dying for american interest.so if you join to become citizen,it is only the american way to put your life at risk to keep america safe...Some american war fronts are not justified but that will not be your right to comment once you sign up...good on you mate... |
the proverbial pursuit of more,no matter how plenty he get already...americans are the highest paid in the world in many fields and the number one is the entertainment industry...kanye and more of them want to be in the position of P-DiDY and Usher who go out and produce new acts like usher brought up justin bieber and gets some of justins money..p diddy brought up so many other acts and it made hime very wealthy as his own albums were falling behind...thats the new survival technique of big stars short shelf life...When your own entertainment acts fall short after a while, then go and scrape up others and make money off of thier success.....Africa has long been a mystical sacred place for black americans who understand little about africa for africans who live there..... |
i have search everything needed to get renew naija passport -but it seems they want me to bring the old passport or officially report it lost and then bring in the passport number and place of issue...i have no clue where the passport is or what the passport number is and where it was issued...i was very young(under 16yrs old) last time i used it when my dad kept it for me...i use my dual citizen option now so my overseas passport is intact and up to date for all my travels lately...i have more than one year before going naija again and i have my overseas birth certificate if that can help them to find the records of my old passport i tried e-mail the help line on internet for niaja immigration, but the line does not connect as naija affairs usually go...i have plenty time so i just ask if anybody knows how they handle lost passport and lost passport number...i was so young when my last naija passport expired and my father is so old now i can only be happy he at least recognizes me as his son and is still alive and well..... |
i saw flight from houston texas to nigeria, houston and atlanta and new york have the heavy duty immigration facitilies to handle the tedious roues like naija...its seems there is a $2000.00 round trip rule, where anywhere in the world is possible for $2000.00roundtrip,and from there it can be cheaper or go very expensive depending on which airline and how many months early buy the ticket..... |
you must look at other sites where people were giving info from as long ago as 2009 and in the 2009 info they were all saying 20k naira...so if you are asking now in 2012 is it? then you are fortunate they are still asking 20k...maybe the web site is outdated as is common -old website with very old info...go look if you did not find what you like to know...i really think it is 20k but dont trust me,go search the info on other threads and sites on internet |
So what happens in case of some one like me who never seen my Naija passport in 20 years now and want to renew it with lost passport report,,But in my case I DONT KNOW MY PASSPORT NUMBER,I NEVER KNEW IT...i was young and my father kept all the passports...i guess i call naijah immigration and ask if they can help me find my old passport number? my dad is so old now he cannot remember his own needs and then for me expect him remember my 28 year old issue passport number do they help find lost info? i try e-mail internet help line at -nigeria immigration .org- but the line is not connecting as is the nigerian style of operating goes.... |
i was in philippines for 2 years and bought honey there from road hawkers who carried it in buckest with bees and honey comb in it...the honey never tasted like honey and they would prove it as honey by dipping the head of a match in it and the honey will never soak into the fire starting compound of the match,it would roll off and not even make a wet mark..but still it was not real honey...the local sugar cane industry there produces so much sugar syrup and then honey men eat thier honey and use sugar syrup and coloring and small honey to make good sweet stuff, but just not the real thing....i found the real stuff by the taste test, its always the best if you already know the taste of fake and real many times before..no 2 real honey sources taste the same and that makes honey so much nicer...the taste and smell is what you must learn or go for chemistry and years of study and expensive test equipment just to eat one small serving of honey?? |
so my friend is availability a common problem? You know i will take you at ANY CAR CAN BE FIXED IN NIGERIA....I just ptu my mind to solving my own availability problem by keeping contact with overseas parts suppliers.....Thanks man... |
Ah you people make me feel like yes there is hope with this way of thinking and the value cause it does no good if only i have this thought and feeling...i know somebody laughed at my youthful ignorance about monkeys there, but i must agree cause i laugh also at my past mistakes and cry very few times for other mistakes i made.....i hope to fufil my plans to get back into Naija by the end of 2013...plenty time ahead for me to properly prepare.... |

I lived in rural part of nigeria and i was always attracted to outdoors in the bush in my free time..My mates always called me crazy and feared the bush...i was deprived of african bush beauty being born abroad before coming to nigeria..i thought on arrival i will be in africa as 8 yr old boy with no more friends in people and i will befriend monkeys and no school for me because only bush dey for naija e.t.c.. this was my assumption at that age but also it was my hope and dream to enjoy simple wild life of strange new companionship....OH God i was into deppression as the aircraft approach airport with big highway and many yellow bus like the school buses in america...I recovered my disappointment quickly since my young mind grew well every day....So in my final settling in nigeria, i prefer to chase lizards and find the spiders and many other insects and even stopped to look close at snakes before running away...i would go in the bush and follow the stream of water for kilometers,i would go fishing with the poor village boys who fished the stream for food while i fished for fun but went home to eat market bought food.......Now i am back over seas 22 years since i left nigeria and the effect of that up bringing is with me...i have mannerisms that people do not understand in the akata cities, but then when i go out to wild out door environments, like the beach i go daily,it stands out as a strong survival quality of alertness and skill....many people come from cities to the beach for vacation in the quiet forest rural town i live, and many times they die or get injured there after just 1 day, whereas many locals who live there survive and enjoy it evryday for years....I was fortunate to be able to go out in the dangerous areas of oceanwaves and rocks and help save people and just endure with abilities to help others with risky environment..As such -people there all look to me as one of the prefered life guards there and wonder why i am like that, and i tell some i was an african bush boy who enjoyed the wild and jumping across the rocks and following the rivers looking at beauty while alert for danger....african wilds have the fastest predators waiting to teeth flesh and the biggest waiting to stampede bones and poisions waiting to overwhelm blood, and this is embedded in the restistance mechanisms africans have in their biological heritage...When i see always african origin people taking the prize for best runners,i always remeber the fastes predators that have chased africans for many generations forcing africans to be the best just to suvive..or when i see african origin people dominating so many phisical activities,i remeber the challenges that require acute hearing and eye sight and balance to perform at high level in basket ball ,football e.t.c it all comes from continuos exposure to the challenges africas wilds have.....When people go for escalator and elevator and drive moto every where and never go to know the wild environment everday unless bull dozer first clear the land then only will they enter;this makes people less in phyisical endurance and many modern countries having big health issue with being so fat because eating much food is so easy ,but work where you can sweat and breath big open air is rare, and efforts that task the body and open landscape to entertain the eyes and the wild risks to sharpen the senses, these things become rare in modern world and also when they become rare-it puts in danger the well being of the entire planet for all of humanity to survive...i remebr they say the first will be last and the last will be first in judgment time.....It goes in hand with africa being the last to make the so called "development leap" following the world race to make things so easy with little effort and challenge...And we see now almost too late ,that reversing the effects of the great european ideal of modern development is almost as big a task as developing an african nation.....Africa can still become a world leader in nature preservation rather than join the rat race of over devlopment and humans falling into biological frailty.......Development is the way to go,but how fast and in what manner -will determine if humans can survive in the world we change to make for ourselves when there are so many secrets to learn of in the world as it was made for us by the great provider from our origins... |
