Private school owners/adminstrators are a very greedy set of people in this country so if in the next 1-2 years from now they don't see teachers to work for them their eyes will clear up.

Imagine in a class of of let's say 15/18 students who pay 20/25k per term yet you can't pay the class teacher 20k a month so who will like to continue such suffering

Gone are the days when the do rely on fresh secondary school graduates, now those boys and girls are into yahoo and hookups respectively so how is 12k or 15k a month going to appeal to them again

They're indeed greedy. All they know how to do best is to look for more avenues to exploit, it's so sad that some of them don't pay their staff well, not even as at when due. Some teachers just have to make it up by doing extra lessons and even at that it's never enough. Really sad.

Ever since the semester resumed, I've been having anxiety attacks especially whenever I heard that our project supervisor wishes to see us.

Next week is exams, and it seems I don't even understand what I've been studying.

How do I regain back my focus?

My final year, it was really crazy but I didn't let all that happened get to me.

Sure there's always that anxiety, you just have to take it one day at a time. Ensure you follow all instructions given to you by your project supervisor. Please prepare for your exam, give it your all and stay positive. May all your efforts not be in vain, wishing you the very best.

Find a way to address your issues quickly before things get out of hand.
Open up to your wife about exactly how you feel.

Well, there you have it OP. If you don't want to blend it esp for your scrambled eggs as well as jollof rice, you can chop your onions into very tiny bits(such that they are barely visible in your meals) like I do.

I used to know someone who had two friends, one didn't like onions and the another didn't like crayfish. It was a problem but they somewhat found a way around it. I love my onions a whole lot but then I try to be considerate at the same time. If you really can't help it, please let her pick them out while eating, do 'moya look away' so it doesn't bother you so much.

As for the fried rice, there's really nothing you can do about it, some people just don't like certain meals for reasons best known to them.

Lol I'm all for "doing whatever works best for you". Some would rather source for handouts, textbooks and other reading materials than going for lectures while some would find it very difficult to grasp anything if they are not sitted in the lecture hall listening and sometimes jotting all they heard the lecturer say. Funny, even some lecturers would say the students must answer his/her questions exactly the way s/he explained/taught it in class, comman see how people go dey rush jotter like chilled pure water as others dey do photocopy, some crooks go dey look for where dem go minimize carry enter exam hall, fraud everywhere OP you dey halla pe how people wey no get 5inch phone go tek dey read softcopy abi, you never see when pesin carry "minimize" dey use am write for exam hall. The day pesin show me wetin e be, I jus dey wonder how dem dey fit do "copy & paste" for their answer sheet with all the tension that comes with sitting for an examination and then the duration, something wey I no fit see the alphabets talk more of coining the words even after squinting and rubbing my eyes consistently for hours.

I, for one prefer softcopy materials cos it's easily accessible, everywhere I go, not having to carry large volume of reading materials that'll wear me out in a split second. The way I see it, it just adds to the options students have & can explore. If you don't have the hardcopy textbooks or handouts, you can get the softcopy and most times you don't even have to worry about how to download it cos someone could share/send it to you in a twinkle of an eye, easy peasy. If you still can't due to one reason or the other, well maybe you'll have to attend lectures regularly, could borrow handouts to copy legibly in a notebook/jotter, could also borrow textbooks to read and pen down in a notebook(in your own words) how much you understood each topic with their diagrammatic illustrations if any, bearing in mind that the owner of the textbook could come for it anytime.

Hello guys, I'm very disturbed now as I don't know what my fate will be if I fail to go for the screening exercise for newly admitted Pg students of unilag. My challenge is that my degree certificate which I'm meant to show for verification is still on the way to Lagos from far away northern nigeria. I've contacted the courier service and they confirmed to me that I can only expect delivery on Monday but the screening is ending today according to the schedule. I've sent messages to the school to know what I can do but haven't gotten any response from any of them. Please does anyone have any information concerning this? What can I do? Can I still be considered if go after the scheduled time? The worst is that I can't book appointment any longer as the portal is saying "all sessions fully booked"

Screening, you mean. No, it doesn't end today because it has been extended. As soon as your department's admission list is out, you can login to the student portal, upload your documents and book an appointment for your screening.

Firstly, OP you need to calm down. Please we're not talking about you turning into a beast fogossake, atleast I'm sure your woman wouldn't want that.

Secondly, "assertive" here means being resolute. She already advised you to work on your financial life, you've also admitted to have made some choices & decisions that you're not so proud of now. I want to make this really brief but I need to touch on a few things.

You believing in the traditional way of marriage where a man provides and protects his family isn't the problem here but it is quite worrisome that your woman doesn't think you can. I'd say she's just scared of history repeating itself in future as regards money matters. Your assurance of a happy home doesn't hold water, to her. Good people make wrong choices, yes neither are you the first nor would you be the last, we've been there, done that but have you learnt from those mistakes never to tread such path again because when you think deeply, it was really of no good. I don't know how you threw money away in the past but a little advice from me to you, when taking calculated risks, try to see beyond just that in order to ascertain if it will be worth the while in the end.
