FamilyRe: Marriage And Zodiac Sign Compability by 1forall:
I deliberately ignore public discussion on the zodiac because it is an esoteric topic over which meaningful discussion can only be held where there is a genuine interest to know or understand it. What harm could knowledge of the zodiac possibly do to anyone? It's up to an individual to choose what to believe and it's factual knowledge that helps make an informed decision, whatever the topic is.
Many of us watch local Nigerian movies that contain so much juju practice, and still manage to learn 'lessons' from such films, what then could the difference be?

If you keep an open mind about the zodiac you probably would learn a thing or two about yourself and others, but only if you seek to know. However, expecting the zodiac to specifically predict the future is foolhardy as it doesn't do that. It gives a fair idea of the outlook for a period in terms of the potential effects of astrological aspects and events in the cosmos, and that can help guide the direction of your actions. What happens thereafter is still ultimately up to you.

Regarding zodiac sign compatibility, it probably its most basic application and follows common sense really.

Also, with so many folk out there writing horoscopes for commercial purposes, anyone interested in learning about it would need to be choosy about who/what they read/believe (just like with any other area of life e.g Pastors) because it is easier to get fooled around than to get real facts. There are so many of them out there but my favorite so far is Susan Miller because of her calm writing style.

k2039: All those things are not true,if not twins should be alike in all ramifications
...
I wish we could perform the experiment, two set of twins getting married to one another, then you will realise the differences
In astrology personality is determined from the natal chart which worked out using the exact time of birth so I wouldn't expect twins to be 'alike in all ramifications' cos it's not possible that they be born at the same time (h,m,s). They however would tend to share more similarities than normal.

OP I would be careful to suggest that marital success can be based sign on compatibility but it sure provides sensible guidelines.
PoliticsRe: Lagos To Get Bicycles Lanes by 1forall: 9:52pm On Oct 29, 2012
Mildly put, I found those statements by the commissioner patronizing.

At a glance the immediate transportation problem in Lagos is mass transportation. Did the commissioner not ask himself how many cars shall be kept off the road per bicycle?

And how does a bicycle become an alternative to an okada?? grin

These guys are jokers sha, Mr commissioner comparing Stockholm to Lagos where the basic transport infrastructure are barely in place is funny. Deliver a functioning transport system comprising rail and water transport, well planned roads, roads and more roads first before you start asking molue-enterers to begin dey ride bicycle.

PoliticsRe: National Good Governance Team In Plateau State. #nggtour2012 by 1forall: 4:51pm On Oct 22, 2012
Only in a sick country like Nigeria would you have a 'good governance' team, is governance supposed to be bad?

They have merely provided the bare basics and want to be praised for it. Rubbish. Maku as Min of Info is on an image laundering mission for his paymasters and gullible citizens are here praise singing. Wont be surprised if some of those doing so here are are part of the problem.

Look at the apology of a road reported in the 4th pic - from the image there's no obvious drainage channel. It's just a tarred surface which shall have been washed away by the rains in another 12 months. Yes. It is not a new occurrence, abi na today e begin dey happen?

In the same pic there are several mobile policemen/soldiers wielding weapons of war, and air-brained, garbage-mouthed Maku and his entourage of low-lifers and rent-seekers want me to believe they are interested in good governance?

Christianity EtcRe: Share Your Testimonies Here by 1forall: 7:12pm On Oct 21, 2012
I want to testify to God's goodness and magnanimity in my life.

I made 3 specific requests of Him early this month and I received a clear answer to one of my requests a week later, I believe answers to the other two are imminent.

Twice he has saved me from auto-accidents one of which led to manslaughter, and he went on to save me from the punishment of the law by declaring it a 'no prosecution' case. Only God could have done that and I give him the glory. The financial provision to overcome the massive challenges that came along with those mishaps also could only have been from God. Amazing!

Recently (last month) God saved me again from an accident waiting to happen as the animals that drive Lagos roads nearly did it again! (I must point out that the incidence of auto-accidents in Nigeria is alarming with lives needlessly wasted by our irresponsible leadership, directly or not).

I would also like to testify to His faithfulness in fulfilling His specific words about my life slowly but certainly, as I can see the manifestation of His prophecies and can only marvel at how God works.

Praise God!
FamilyRe: My Friend's Wife Is Loyal To Her Mother And Ignores Her Husband by 1forall: 7:10pm On Oct 20, 2012
Imagine your wife asking her Dad what style to "allow" in bed? huh The mindset where a wife thinks what happens in her matrimonial bedroom is because she "allows" it based on her Dad's instruction or advise is absolutely unhealthy for marriage. That to me is a sign of low self-esteem and complete ignorance of what she got herself into i.e marriage.

As we have only heard one side of the story here it is not possible to get the complete picture but people of low-self esteem tend to attract their kind. It is difficult to accept that signs of the recent happenings had not manifested somewhat in their pre-marriage days which may have been ignored by the man. So though according to the story the woman may appear at fault in many ways, I'd like to think the man himself cant be blameless.

However, the same Bible that they say is anti-oral sexx also declares the husband of the head of the house, not the wife nor in-laws. They should be told in clear terms and they ought to respect that if they're not hypocrites.
The way this turns out is entirely dependent on the man because he has the power to create the kind of home he desires. You NEED to put your feet down firm and teach your wife what her responsibilities are to the marriage.

There's no doubt that overcoming this wahala shall not be pretty, people are going to get offended as there's no way out that'll satisfy all. But it is a necessary sacrifice well worth it to save the marriage.

** The bolded is key especially if he is the kind of personality that does not like confrontation or offending others.
BusinessRe: Football Business Five-Aside by 1forall: 3:09pm On Oct 20, 2012
Me thinks its a good idea, its just the peculiar Nigerian business environment that needs to be well prepared for as I dont imagine you would be interested in doing this as a charity. For this to have any positive impact on national football the normal thing to do shall be to get involved with Nigerian football authorities and that for me is where the headaches begin.

The current NFF has been declared an illegal body, and even the NFA before that was full of; and run by rogues, rent seekers and pure businessmen with no passion for sport. How a noble idea such as yours would make sense to such people whose primary interest is embezzlement from the National sporting budget is a big question you would need to ask yourself.

If you can find a reasonably satisfactory answer then you're onto something here man.

Don't mean to sound pessimistic but its the reality of the situation on ground. If you saw the pictures of the Abuja national stadium floating about on the internet some weeks ago you would understand that there's no political will on the part of Nigerian sports administrators to lift the state of Nigerian sport.

CrimeRe: Robbers Disguise As Beggars To Rob In Lagos by 1forall:
etunoman76: The Lagos State Police Public Relation Officer, Ngozi Braide, claimed that the police had not received such complaints.“We are not aware of that. Find out if the victims actually reported to the police and the station. All the same, the information is noted,” she said.
For me, the quoted portion appears to be where the understanding of the problem/potential solution lies.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Career Opportunities In A Multinational Conglomerate by 1forall: 7:21pm On Oct 18, 2012
My first thoughts about this vacancy were of a potentially genuine advert, considering the language in which it is written and the physical address supplied.

However to make certain about it, the moderators bothered to do a few checks on the user's history and the company and it appeared to check out at the point we came across its background and contacts pages.

We expect anyone interested would do same before applying, even to any other agency or employer these days where there are so many dubious people taking job seekers for a ride- as the Internet is a lot more accessible now too.
