specialguest: Its ok but personally i dont find mr biggs appealing as a wedding Reception/ lunch venue. Reason been that the food tastes funny ever since i became an adult angry (i think a few will agree with me) ... Since a wedding is suppozed to be a memorable event id suggest u sought the assistance of friends/ relatives to cook at home and you can have the lunch in your living room or if its small then you could put up a meduim sized canopy in the compound, plastic chairs and tables dont cost much to rent.
In addition get a dj in the same manner you get the cooks.. Scout for one among your cousins, brothers, brother in laws, friends etc someone should be good at spinning.

All the best.
Tanks sis! Money aint d problem,I just want a lowkey/different arrangement.

EventsIs This Okay For A Moderate Wedding? by 1ndidi2(op): 4:42pm On Oct 10, 2012
I picked some ideas from a discussion on wedding expenses and came up with this:

First we would stock up the house with enough foodstuffs, appliances and all the necessary material things to start a home(good food/entertainment is part of honey moon)

Then with the immediate family members alone we do a little get-to-gether in the sitting room for the traditional rites.

On a sunday morning we go to church as normal with very few guests- d IV card would read(wedding/thanksgiving/lunch...) So after the mass proper we give thanksgiving, then we proceed to a mr.biggs or something and order up food/drink for the 'very few 'guests.
All the guests have to be in church and we all proceed together to the venue! Maybe I won't disclose the venue for the lunch so that quarter of the guests won't be @church and one half would be @the 'mr biggs' already(probably ordering up)!

I guess who didn't come to church may miss out!

What do you think?X_X

D 'now popular' style aint so bad- where u do the white wedding in the morning @church and then the trad/reception in the evening @d choice venue!

Whether u are buoyant enough or not, that style aint so bad.

Also , a few choice guests should do! One musn't invite d whole clan, friends, street or village

As for d registry, just d couple and two witnesses will suffice, later u all could go to chicken republic, grab a bite/drink and get one of those photographers in the joint to take some shots.

MI Abaga speaks on #Aluu4: “The hope is the worst part of it”

The hope is the worst part of it.

The way they lay there, beaten and broken, battered and bruised. Knowing their end had come for certain. Knowing that the crowd meant to see this through to the end. And yet, in the midst of all this certainty, in some small corner of their hearts, hoping. That something would happen, some miracle perhaps.

I am speaking of course, of the #Aluu4, students of University of Port Harcourt who were beaten and set ablaze last week.

I’d heard the news sometime last week and devoted all of 10 seconds of thought to it. I wondered briefly who the students were, and what could possibly have driven them to steal. I briefly wondered if they were really guilty but my mind quickly shied away from where that road could lead. I remembered all the stories I grew up hearing about thieves and the instant justice meted out to them, and mentally shook my head.

That would have been all, I suppose, but for the video. It is probably the most gruesome thing I have ever seen, and the worst I ever hope to see.

Hope.

There, I’ve said it again. Somehow it seems there is no escaping it.

Because when things like this happen, it seems our default reaction is to hope it will never happen to us or any one we know or love. Then we hope that our religion and hard work and luck will exempt us from senseless suffering. Sometimes we hope that right thing will be done, the wrong doers brought to book, and the victims receive some sort of justice.

Every day we hope the country we live in will be a better place for us and for our children.

And that is the problem with hope.

That we have allowed it to cripple us and render us inactive.

You , me, all of us who sit by hoping and doing nothing to change.

The question is not whether or not the 4 boys stole anything. That is quite besides the point.

Let us ask instead: What do I need to ensure my children do not grow up hearing stories like these?

What would it cost to make this country and are we willing to pay the price?

Because if I were there that day, would I have spoken up and done my best to put a stop to it? Or silently stood by, condemning the actions in my heart, but doing nothing? Would I have been seized by the bloodlust and fear and anger myself, and spurred them on with my shouts, and cries for blood, maybe tossed in a rock or two for good measure.

The society is a mirror of each of us. It is sad and sickening that this was allowed to happen. It shows us all what we are capable of, what w will each do given the right set of circumstances.

These 4 murdered men, their deaths should not be in vain. If anything good could come out of a mess so sordid, let it be that every Nigerian begins to think about the problem and what to do to solve it. Let it be that we understand the problem is ourselves and our failure to take a stand against injustice and lawlessness over the years. Let it be that we promise ourselves never to let this happen again. Not on our land. Not as long as we’re alive.

I hope this time we get it right.

Don't know about that!!

I do know that d 1st shop is owned by a yoruba man nd his wife,d second one is owned by an igbo woman!!(They are educated peeps)

U say u wanna maintain ur color-then that's what u will tell them and they will prescribe

But if u want to tone/bleach,they also know what to do/mix.

Kk, there is a shop@ yaba,but I don't know the exact number,so I will just describe it.
When u get to ojuelegba
,
take a bus to yaba(#30),

try to sit near d window to your left,

when they are almost close to d railway line,

look out the window and u will see some one-storey buildings.

There are actually 3 cosmetic shops on that floor, just tell d conductor u will come down before d railway line and start looking at d building!

When u see d 1storey with 3shops in front(its d only building with 3shops in front)
then u can climb up,do not allow d youngmen downstairs to drag u to their own o!

Climb up and go to the 1st two shops(they are good).

I hope u can try to understand me! Pele.

See if u can change it,if they are ur good 'customers'
U should try going to a professional beautician's shop, they can recommend better than just going to a general supermarket because its what they are good at. Then when u get used to the recommended cream,u can buy @d supermarket.

Guys too ask a girl her age, relationship status and what they do for a living!
A responsible girl asks those questions too, from it she can deduce the kind of person she is with.

There is this particular rat-(we know ourselves). It knows I can't do anything and I know it can do plenty things. I'm tired of keeping quiet so I decided to take action and stand up for my rat-sorry-right!

For the past 2weeks,@my state of service I have been going to the -every second day market waiting for the "man on a bicycle" that sells that"gummy rat catcher". I have even told some strategic shop owners on the major street to look out for the "man on the bicycle". Am sure the whole village is looking out for the man and immediately they see him, they call me and I will run down to buy it. its very effective and efficient!

This particular rat is right now @ the window chewing on d only thing I can't hide from it(some "tobacco plant" I was given to ward off snakes) so,d rat is always 'high' from 1pm(resumes duty)and closes @ 6am)

So,'rat' if you are reading this-#ideywatch u#,everyday for the rat...
FamilyRe: Are We Living In A World Of Indecency Or Fashion by 1ndidi2(f): 7:02am On Sep 22, 2012
Hmmm! Its d 'YODO' life (u only dress once)! its more like indecency than fashion. Indecent in the sense that it íڪ not pleasant 2look at-more like gross and in bad taste. But we say fashion is about good taste and creativity, where does one begin and where does d other end?

One mans meat is another's poison. I believe in "moderate" things in all aspects of life! People are going way overboard with fashion today and both d person, parents, peers, media and d society are to blame.

This thing today of people having freedom to do whatever they like is affecting dressing(people tell u that u only live once so dress your life. anyhow.).

is it our parents that want to feel 'modern' who start dressing their children indecently from d cradle(of course they see nothing wrong with it).

or your friends who come from eccentric homes influencing your choice of clothes( babe this na d reigning cloth!u no wan follow, abeg no fall my hand if u know say u wann waka with me!)And since d individual has no will power she succumbs to her friends.

or is it d almighty MEDIA- globalization issue(when u see your favourite artist dressing indecently hiding under d umbrella of 'fashion') society accepts it because for them to be on air means its acceptable, who is d individual to see her dressing as indecent! D matter no be today o jare!!

I can only contribute my quota by promising to bring up my kids with a mixture of d old/new fashion code(walahi my children go hear am from me o! Not only dressing nd other indecent issues 2day)

D damage has already being done but we can try to save our future generation in d way we nurture them.
