frankwyte: I think he deserves it, let me speak as a non partisan person. secondly, i reside in Port Harcourt precisely D-line. a whole lot has happened in terms of project under his leadership. I never gave him a chance when it comes to governance but he has proved me wrong. Moreso, watching the scenario on channels TV, it portend grave risk for the APC becos it seem alot of them seem not too happy with the center in terms of governance; this was well played out by the encomiums received by Wike on acceptance of the award. He was well greeted by the APC especailly by the south-west and a few of the Northern guys. What this means that a lot of realignment and gambit political struggle is out there. Take it or leave. You observed well. There was so much goodwill towards Wike across the political divide. Most politicians due to the state of uncertainty occasioned by current events have started realigning themselves and expanding their political reach. Irrespective of party affiliation, Wike is a man to have on your side. He is a poltitcal enforcer. Amaechi knows this, Nigerians know this. |

@ olaposiwaju, Akwa Ibom, maybe, but i sincerely doubt Delta state producing more oil than Rivers. Delta state has witnessed massive divestment by Oil majors due to dwindling returns. Additionally, they arent at maximum output now because they havent efffected all repairs due to NDA havoc. So you shud reconsider that ur stats.
Moreso, Rivers oil wells are hanging. Amaechi has ensured that Oil wells wrongly ceded from Rivers to Bayelsa and Abia because of his political rift with GEJ (a means to reduce his allocation) wouldnt be returned back to Rivers state until his preferred candidate is governor. |

Amaechi is a mere lizard of Ubima who couldn't deliver his constituency to Buhari the dullard on three different occasions.
[/bl This is a gathering/meeting which the primary aim is to know the pressing problems/challenges of Rivers state and Rivers people and the ways to tackle them. This is solely for the interest of Rivers state and Riverians. This is not a popularity contest or showoff of whatever sort. Though, small minds as you will always be petty, but the Riverians who see the bigger picture will always seeks ways to reconcile both for the general good of all, and the uplifting of the state to greater heights. |

Igbos and other Nigerians should only take a look at the Nigerian map to accept the fact that Lagos is a Yoruba property. It is buried deep inside Yorubaland, the city is even not loosely bordering any other tribe apart from Yoruba.
I like it when governors are bold to the truth and fact. Ambode need not be patronising at all, Lagos na Yoruba people own. If you want urs, make yours. |

Politics › Re: Tinubu Withdraws Financial Support For APC - Naij.com by 24SEVEN: 6:01am On Nov 03, 2016 |
Timoleon: Tinubu might have been the biggest facilitator in funding the APC, it will however be myopic to submit that he funded the APC from his personal coffers, his hard earned money. Truth remains that incubents often have more access to state funds which is used to fund their second term agenda... Tinubus withdrawal of support will certainly deal a huge blow on the APC aspiration but i doubt it will really be felt financially. Our political elites remain corrupt, amoral and insensitive. Mortgaging the future of this country for the opportunity to get four more years to loot this country. Our focus definitely shouldnt be on who is financing any one's ambitions, our concern should be whose money is being used. Personal incomes or our collective/nationa wealth.
Note, the contradiction is not really a party vs party thing rather it is an elite vs people struggle. We shouldnt be celebrating the rise and fall of political parties every four years, rather we should be celebrating accountability aand transparency in public office. We should strive to consolidate on our democracy rather than be addressing petty foot notes that only serve as distractions to the true challenges currently bedevilling our dear nation Your comment is top rate. The Nigerian populace have been bamboozled sh*tless by these politicians to the point where they can hardly differentiate substance from rubbish. Nice one from you. |

You can prove me wrong by mentioning one person and let's check it out. He should test his popularity by contesting for the presidency. Since he believes he made Buhari the president, it's time for him to become president. Or are you saying he isnt good enough to be president or what? |

First one. modath: Dem nor advise small pikin make e nor chop leprous fruit, as long as e fit stay forest alone.. Second one. Only you dey collect two positions for front-page. Na wah oh. No one knows why the president has decided to keep Tinubu at a distance, since we are not Buhari, we should give him the benefit of the doubt and allow him to concentrate on governance. But from observation, i can conclude that political godfathers/patrons are a pain in the a*s and ultimately a clog in the wheels of progress. Their presence/contribution in government should be very minimal, else they derail the plans and programs of government.
Buhari was elected, and not Tinubu. The victory of Buhari has given Tinubu a kind of national spotlight but hes not that popular outside Yorubaland. He shouldn't go about making it seem like he relinquished his presidency for Buhari and has now been forsaken. He shouldn't be distracting the Presidency unnecessarily. This topic has now assumed a whole new level of nuisance.
People voted for the perceived credibility of Buhari, allow him serve. |
