ChangeIsCostant: An unsuspecting driver of a red Passat Wagon car yesterday night plunged into a manhole while racing down towards the roundabout from the bank road in Owerri, the Imo State capital. According to a report from an Owerri resident, the contractor handling the Bank Road expansion refused to put up a Caution sign by the manhole to alert drivers despite incessant calls for that.
Source; http://www.nationalhelm.net/2017/05/lack-of-caution-sign-lands-driver-and.html not long I saw beautiful pics of owerri, if the OP had indicated this "man-hole" pics earlier, it would serve as a deterrent to the driver and the car. |

fishbone11: She is already a citizen & uses Spanish passport. Yes, speak the language fluently and have stayed over 10yrs now. What I'm trying to say is with the money Nigeria has, minimum salary both private & public sector shouldn't be less than #150k as a graduate. No, our stupid leaders wouldn't allow it so cos of their selfish interest. Nigeria is a better country compare to a lot of countries in Europe & around the world but corruption has sank us deeply. You have spoken well. I concur with you. |

fishbone11: Seriously Nigeria is bleeped, I have someone in Spain that works as a cleaner in a hotel and her salary is €1,500/month €1,500×400 =#600,000/month. Her bills for the month is about €600, balance =€900. She pockets about #360,000 after expenses. She's not even a graduate and here we are in Nigeria receiving #50k/month so pathetic, I weep for Nigeria. she must be a legal residence. she must have an understanding for Spanish. she might have been in the ground for quite a while. Spain no easy at all, it is even one of the lowest paid countries in terms of salary in west Europe. To top it all, there are many illegal migrants who would do that job for less the price she earns. |

GEJPosterity: BTW they have constant electricity and running water in their big cities in Zimbabwe. I visited a friend in Kewkwe recently (Kwekwe is to Zimbabwe what a city like Ado-Ekiti is to Nigeria), and for my 3 days there, the light did not blink. I also did not see a single generator.
Might want to chew on that before you laugh at Mugabe.
Nigeria is a lot worse than many of you realise. this is what I have been telling nairalanders, the basic things of man other African countries provide for its citizens not in Nigeria. please tell us more about Zim |

Pidgin2: There are places with 24/7 electricity in Nigeria, take note. If you've ever stayed in Phcn quarters or bonny Island you will know, besides if you want 24/7 contact any Alaba authentic solar panel merchant and they will install solar panels with 24/7 light supply or visit MTN office and opt for Lumos solar 24/7 light. Always complaining but never looking for solutions, we are so damn lazy, get yourself a solar panel!
. This is what I am saying, it is only the rich that can get to enjoy Nigeria or some selected state or region enjoying due to oil companies location or firms supporting that state or region. Nigeria is a failed state when it comes to provision of electricity to domestic homes and streets.. it is a dark world at night. There are some African countries where I have been to, even their villages have lights in their homes and streets-all from the national grid. |

Pidgin2: Well done, how do they grow their groundnut, tomatoes and other crops? Has there been drought in that region since you were born. As they depend on rainfall has it stopped their crops from growing nope. You have spoken well but just quoting you on the aspects getting water from the ground as an option if no govt aid. To add, to live in Nigeria comfortably requires money. if you are poor and you are living in Nigeria, then you will see hell but this is not the same in other African countries. Even a country like Burkina Faso which the UN describes as a poor country, one can live life comfortably with some basic amenities govt has put in place. |

Chai, you guys are toxic You seem not to know much but there are places in the North you can't just dig the ground for water.. if there are no irrigation system available , some places are dependent on rainfall. |

do google research, find out who is an entrepreneur and what it takes to be an entrepreneur. Also, find out why the rich invest in asset and why the middle class seeks liability. Also, please try and read about a small business developer. after reading , you should be able to get your answer. |
