winnteam:are you suggesting these pastors are better than us mortals, beyond scrutiny and second only to Jesus Christ? winnteam:they filled this "vacuum" by building schools that only the rich and corrupt of the society can attend? Excellent! |
Therationa, i thot u were going to bring up rational examples not hyperboles! I'll be back to answer this silliness of heart . . . a few minutes to enjoy this ice-cream and mashmallows first. |
You want us to read a "hypothesis" to justify the reliability of the bible? shld i use a dictionary to tell u what the term "hypothesis" means? |
therationa:show us one example of cannibalism in the bible or thou author of falsehood and confusion. |
why dont you tell us. I thot u said he never existed. |
same old reaction when they get stumped on their own foolishness. Now run along and open yet another thread pretending to be seeking answers. |
that's true, what a waste of time trying to make a blind bat see the difference between the colors red and blue. |
Gamine:that is true but you have not considered other things: 1. Did God give us the power to curse others? Why then didnt he curse those who crucified Him? Why didnt Stephen curse his killers? 2. We were cursed under the law . . . but we found mercy at the cross. Should these thieves be denied access to that mercy simply because they robbed our church? |
therationa:Exodus 20: 2 I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. This was the preamble to the 10 commandments . . . now answer your own dishonest question . . . did he bring them out of Egypt as individuals or as a nation? Once you answer that question u'll have the answer to urs. have a good day. |
therationa:for someone who has made about 30 threads in less than 1 month you are not one to talk about evasion tactics. Now get the truth rammed down your throat you hypocrite . . . you cant claim to be asking for the answer to 5*5=25 when you dont believe that 1+1=2. It is either you believe God exists or not, to jump from there to asking whether His word is valid or not is not reasonable. We started out by trying to take u through our persuasions thinking we were interacting with an individual with a capacity for rational reasoning. . . now we know better we will continue to serve you your own unpalatable dish of inconsistency and dishonest approach to issues until you show that u are ready for a reall discourse. How many times did Stimulus call you out to thrash out issues? How many times did you cleverly dodge them by running like a scared rat to open another thread? I am more than ready to stick out not only my neck but my arms, legs and entire trunk for what i believe in but i also stand for the truth that you cannot afford to cast ur pearls before swine (and that is no insult at all). have a good day. |
therationa:you are desperately confused. When the God was talking about visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children he was talking to them AS A NATION not as individuals. He wasnt saying Mr. Lekan if you steal $5 i will cane your two daughters NO! There are instances in the bible (i gave the example of Achan, also Korah in the wilderness) where whole familes have perished because of the actions of the head of the family but these are few and far between. Moses struck the rock instead of speak to it, his two sons did not pay for that sin neither did their grandchildren. David took Beersheba and killed her husband YET solomon became king of Isreal. There are tons of other examples like that. However when the leaders of Isreal caused them to sin, they and all the land of isreal paid for it either by being defeated in war (read the prayer of Gideon) or by going in to captivity (babylon). Daniel was full of the spirit, a wonderful man of God and YET he was in captivity for the sins of his ancestors. That was why i gave the examples i did where whole nations can bear the brunt of the actions of their leaders. Of course it is bizare to u because it makes a mockery of your attempt to see that as a "contradiction" in the bible. I can't say i blame you confused souls. Therationa, it is not compulsory to be a christian. I am surprised that you are married to one with the level of hate that you keep inside. |
olabowale:some people also claimed they would never forgive God for allowing the tsunami so what is ur point here? olabowale:neither was it what Paul, Stephen, Peter, James, John and I worship. olabowale:Moses was a jew. What are you talking about? How could he be the jewish leader and not be a jew in religion? Jesus was not a christian . . . well the term "christian" comes from "Christ-like", a term used to describe the early disciples. Open ur eyes of understanding. |
Gamine:99% of us claim to be "aware of the devices of the enemy" but the truth is we are not. We cannot be aware of these devices if we cannot open our bibles and ask - what would Jesus do in this situation? Rather we simply hang on every word that proceeds out of the mouth of "papa". One of the devices of the enemy is that at the end time so many will worship Christ with their lips but their hearts are far from Him. By their fruits we shall know them. One of the fruits of the Holy Spirit is LOVE - are we showing these fruits when we so easily heap curses on our enemies and those who attempt to open our eyes to the truth? What fruits are we showing when our "papa" prefers to rain down curses on those who rob him forgetting that he was only a pitiful sinner when Christ went to the cross on his behalf. Lord have mercy. |
therationa:Again more reason for me to believe you really have not bothered to read that which u are quick to castigate. The above in highlights is NOT a part of the 10 commandments . . . maybe the one you manufactured urself. Lets use a simple analogy . . . when the US went in to remove Saddam Hussein, many Iraqis were killed NOT because they were Saddam or because they supported Saddam in power but for the simple unfortunate fact that they were Iraqis! Another analogy . . . Iran is suffering under the burden of international sanctions because of its leaders . . . isnt that monstrous? Is it the fault of the 5yr old Iranian boy who also has to partake in such sanctions? Thanks to Abacha, Nigeria was in 1995 labelled a pariah nation and its citizens barred from travelling to western nations . . . was Abacha our fault? Isnt that monstrous? In the old testament . . . such was the case too. A man was held accountable for his family. When Achan sinned in taking the spoil of Ai, his family perished with him. With the new testament God decided to change it . . . now it is "whosoever believeth on Him shld not perish but have everlasting life" . . . If that is inanity then leave me alone to bear the consequences of supporting such a "monster". |
therationa:on what evidence does the skeptic prove that the bible is not the word of God? therationa:no you shldnt but i'd expect you to at least READ the bible rather than saturating urself with atheist websites that dont help you form an independent oppinion. |
bawomolo:What is the contradiction here? That the author of Genesis mentioned the same thing 2ce? bawomolo:Pls dont just start reading from verse 20 because you are looking for "contradictions". God clearly indicates in the earlier portions of this chapter that indeed there used to be a law that children were punished for the sins of their fathers. Ez 18:1 The word of the LORD came unto me again, saying, 2 What mean ye, that ye use this proverb concerning the land of Israel, saying, The fathers have eaten sour grapes, and the children's teeth are set on edge? 3 [As] I live, saith the Lord GOD, ye shall not have [occasion] any more to use this proverb in Israel. 4 Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die. Very easy to understand . . . God was simply saying this in anticipation of the new covenant that was to come with the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ that there would come a time when no longer would children have to pay for the sins of their fathers but EVERY SOUL would have to account for his own deeds. the only thing "contradictory" here is what YOU want to see. |
bawomolo:do i sense a change of tactics from you and therationa. Having failed miserably to convince us that God does not exist the emphasis has now mischievously shifted to analyzing the "mindset of God" eh? bawomolo:I read this 3 times . . . where is the contradiction here? Perhaps you need to revise it. bawomolo:lol you shld have asked for the meaning of "death" in that verse 27. There are 2 types of death . . . physical and spiritual death. The spiritual death (separation from God) was what was being adduced there not that he would physically fall down and die. Notice that after eating the fruit, Adam and Eve were banished from the garden of Eden and thus lost the daily walk with God they had hitherto enjoyed. bawomolo:you're lost here sir. God gave each and everyone of us the power to make our own life choices. God could not force Saul not to sin, God could not force the children of Isreal to follow him. Following Christ is a personal decision that you have to take. bawomolo:There is a difference sir. When God makes a decree or commandment it will always come to pass. However, as I said earlier and i repeat . . . when it comes to man and his ability to make his own choices God cannot pass a decree that thou must serve Him on sunday or tuesday . . . or thou must believe in Him. |
ayinba1:hypocrisy at its best: 1. You have again gone ahead and made an indirect quote from the bible you claim is a contradiction. 2. Fear not? Wow . . . from the same person who a few weeks ago was threatening me with violence for quoting contradictions from the quran? 3. Fear not? From the same religion who scared Seun into banning m-uslim discussion on this forum with his life? The devil indeed has turned himself into an angel of light. |
skyone take it easy . . . Christ would have prayed for Bawomolo instead . . . it is not His will that ANY shld perish . . . |
bawomolo:no they dont you tool. Christianity is the new covenant, judaism is the old covenant . . . islam only piggy-backed on the christian concept of the abrahamic God to lend some legitimacy to its fraud. |
your only link to this "unimpeachable evidence" is a youtube video? Let me remind you that other examples of chromosomal translocations are associated with disease - t(2;5)(p23;q35) - anaplastic large cell lymphoma t(8;14) - Burkitt's lymphoma (c-myc) among others. |
detruth:that is the problem sir. Blind faith, blind trust . . . can the blind lead the blind except they both fall into the ditch? Do you people ever stop to ever study to see whether those things that ye have both seen and heard are true? yomi is not my pastor, i never heard of him until i read his blog . . . i take my time to read thru his write ups to see whether they line up with the bible or not. Sadly religious affiliation has prevented many of you from doing just what made the Berean christians such models to the apostles in the book of acts. detruth:Bill Gates has recieved wealth . . . was it given him from heaven? You cant just quote scriptures anyhow to justify ur twaddle. What was God talking about in John 3:27? Was he saying even if you recieve juju powers it was given to you from heaven? Do you people stop to even understand scripture before u post? We have witches . . . where those powers ordained of God? detruth:my dear, what of the pple of Soddom and Gommorah? Where they not rich too? Didnt they have fantastic buildings? Why wasnt any of that of significance to God when He decided to overthrow them with fire and brimstone? detruth:My dear . . . i'm sure at a stage nimrod must have looked at his tower and said . . . "glory be to God" afterall they wanted to build a tower to heaven. Why was that a bad idea? Shouldnt God have been pleased that these pple loved Him so much that they wanted to build a tower to reach Him quickly instead of waiting to die? My dear its not about being rigid its about whether the things we do glorify God or not. chikena. |
therationa:Nonsense. I have never told a musl'im that his god does not exist . . . rather i have countered his silly argument that he is the same as the God of the bible. therationa:you're putting the cart before the horse. You cant be debating the words of a God u dont believe in. therationa:that's true, but until you can convincingly show us that our belief in God is irrational we will continue to hold steadfastly to that belief. |
Sweet T:or we could just make things easy and ask her to marry moneybags. Problem solved. |
therationa:yes if only you were seeking genuinely. |
therationa:you're tripping over ur own feet. Whether God exists is tied intimately to whether the bible is His word. You cant separate the two because God expressly declared in the book of St. John that He is His word! Now back to ur weak analogy, christians, muslims and mormons believe in the existence of "a god" . . . not just God. The christian believes that his God is clearly distinct from those of others and the rationale for this is in the bible. |
Frankly you have no points at all so i will safely ignore them to point out your glaring hypocrisy and the fact that even though you cry that you are a christian, you really are not. You do not understand God's principles, you are not saved, you are an idol worshipper who places the words of your man of Gawd above those of Jesus Christ. janami:I see this constantly especially from the fanatical members of the WOFM and it pains my soul to realise that we still have people like this who cant even open their bibles and ask . . . what would Christ have done? When Christ was being crucified on the cross what did He say to His tormentors? - Luke 23:34 Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots. When Stephen was being stoned to death what did he say to his killers? - Acts 7: 60 And he kneeled down, and cried with a loud voice, Lord, lay not this sin to their charge. And when he had said this, he fell asleep. What about Paul and Silas who prayed for their jailor and his family? If Stephen had cursed his killers Apostle Paul would never have existed and we would never be beneficiaries of the books of Romans, Corinthians, galatians . . . What happened to Godly principles of love, mercy and grace? What of the thief on the cross? Did Christ condemn him to hell? Luke 23: 43 And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with me in paradise. While we were yet sinners Christ died for the ungodly . . . without Christ's death on the cross the wages of sin (robbery, murder or unbelief) is death! why are "christians" so full of hate and unbelief? Why are the same people who were redeemed by His blood, unworthy or His grace now cursing others? janami:What self-righteousness, what hypocrisy, what a disgusting display of deciet. Remember who said something like this in the bible? Luke 18: 10 Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican. 11 The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican. 12 I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess.13 And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner. What was Christ's response? - 14 I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted. I live you to ur conscience. Very sad . . . a lot of people think they are saved because they attend church every sunday but each time u listen to the utterances of their lips you see evidence of unregenerated souls. I'm not surprised that you people just rush in to insult me and run away . . . they cant open their bibles, they worship their leaders . . . sad, sad, sad! |
abanna:no where in the bible do we see this nonsense. Jesus did not go about building schools for the little children neither did the early apostles. abanna:that is not in the bible also. It is the lie that ur men of Gawd have placed in ur heart to avoid being scrutinised. Paul rebuked Peter once for declaring the gentiles unclean. abanna:What happened to the biblical principles of grace, mercy and love? While we were yet worse sinners Christ died for the ungodly. Remember the thief on the cross? did Christ wish him well in hell too? |
therationa:here is the problem. If we havent learnt 1+1=2 why do you want to progress to 7*5=35? If we havent determined whether God exists or not then what is the rationale crying about whether His bible is true or not? You dont believe the christian God exists yet you go ahead lampooning His bible? isnt that hypocritical? |
skyone:That the church is the largest in the world has nothing to do with God's glory . . . He is there in the midst of 2 or 3 people who are sincerely gathered together in His name. skyone:that is one more "belief" that has no place in the bible. Inferior to others in terms of what? Wealth? Where was Apostle Peter's guiness book of records building? Christ said His disciples would be persecuted and hated for His sake . . . where did Oyedepo get his revelation from? skyone:that is false. Ever seen the pyramids? Who empowered them to build it? Ever see the statute of liberty in the US? Ever seen the largest building on earth? To whose glory are those? |
You are more than welcome, we've dealt with worse people before. ![]() Like JeSoul said . . . we are not crazy neither do we have 32 pairs of arms . . . your childish attitude of opening up 90 threads a minute any time is ridiculous. Everyone is tired of the fact that each time they try to engage you in a progressive discourse on one thread u promptly disappear to open another. we cant keep up! |
shhh morenike e don do |
