frank317:
This is my problem with you guys. You admit that there is no record of supernatural occurrence when the missionaries evangelized Africa, yet you want her to accept your assumption that supernatural means was used to spread the gospel.
Isn't it obvious that supernatural occurrence would awe the people and lead them to record such happening? Would they just over look it and record less mind blowing occurrence?
And if she doubt your assumption you accuse her of being unnecessarily stubborn.
Calm down frank! You are doing the same thing you accused me of earlier, and that is not reading a post well before answering. Look at the post again below:

5minsmadness:
There is no record saying supernatural happenings did not occur when the missionaries evangelised Africa...
Note the negation there in bold, you are a literary genius, you should know I was trying to say that supernatural events most likely would have taken place!

Well like you rightly pointed out, I am human and it does not make sense to me. Perhaps you are God. However you came to conclusion that it makes sense to God, I don't know. If it makes sense to him, does he not know it does not make sense to me? If he cares less about how it does not make sense to me, then I also care less about how it makes sense to him
Honestly, that's your choice. If God wanted to use angels to spread the gospel he would have done so from Jerusalem, not Africa. And like i said, most people on seeing angels tend to bow down and want to worship them thus removing the glory of worship from God. That would be too much of a distraction. Your own fellow human being coming to preach to you is much better than an angel from the skies. Angel or human you have heard the gospel. What you are going to do with it is solely up to you!

Primitive times indeed and your God had to wait for humans to make internet before deciding that talking to us directly was no longer the best option. Why didn't he come up with internet since he knew that trying to talk to people directly would kill them. Primitive times seems to limit your all knowing God too.
What point are you trying to make here? God knew talking to humans directly wasn't the best option since the time of exodus, probably before then! What has the invention of the internet got to do with this discussion??

Lol... Now humans (who dont know anything about divination) are talking to us about God, your God expect this will make more impact? Seriously? You think your God does not understand hunger because he does not get hungry? Now I understand why children in somalia are dying of hunger despite praying to him.
@bolded, oh I strongly disagree sir. Humans know a lot about divination. Just because you have never seen air doesn't mean it does not exist. Just because you have never experienced anything supernatural doesn't mean it doesn't exist!
The hunger example is given for the benefit of humans, not God. If a rich man comes to you and says "I know what it means to be poor, I've been there." and a poor man comes to you and says "I know what it means to be poor" who are you more likely to believe? The poor man of course. God would rather a human like you preach the gospel to you than a deity like an angel!

Tell your God its not working. He should trying another means of reaching the people (since he is good at trial and error). Actually I would suggest to your all knowing deity that talking to us directly would yield a better understanding of him.
I strongly believe God is more interested in quality than quantity. He would rather have refined material that has gone through the fire than any tom, dick and harry. The truth is no matter what is done the gospel will not be accepted by everyone.

Now I am confused: actually you are confused; let me get you straight: are you now complaining that using humans will not work again because people would worship them as God? So why is he still using humans? What does your God expect when he choses to remain invisible.
Again am confused: actually u are confused; you claimed he would have used supernatural means to spread the gospel in Africa, why are you suggesting it would throw of point God's message?
When he used supernatural means in the bible, did it throw of point his message?
Your God seem to have created humans, only to be confused on how best to reach them band communicate smoothly with them. What's hard in reaching his people and making them to understand him and worship him the way he likes? Why is such an easy thing difficult for him?
No, instead of getting it right for once in his everlasting life, the best option for him is to spend so much effort in creating hell so the he will punish those who can't reach him.
So much for an all knowing God.
Of course you are confused because you didn't understand the post from the beginning! You are looking for who to attack instead of trying to understand the message!

There are numerous instances in the bible where a miracle worker or prophet was seen as a god or to be worshiped etc. Each time such prophets are people would be quick to point to God as the source of the glory and not them. Even Jesus Christ that worked so many miracles in the three years he spent on earth was ALONE on the cross! No army rose up from the people he healed to save him! Even his apostles ran away from him! Miracles DO NOT WORK in bringing about salvation! God wants loyal subjects not ass-kissers! He doesn't want a repitition of the heavenly rebellion! He is looking for quality not quantity.

At the last bolded on your post...it this the crux of your quarrel with God? Are you rebelling because you think if you disobey God you will go to hell? That's not the way brother. God made hell for the devil.and his angels, not for any man. It is a pity man had been tainted with sin and cannot enter heaven with it for no unclean thing shall enter that place.

Don't listen to those religious christians threatening you with hell if you don't accept the message o eternal life. Those are scare tactics and those christians are working in error! Believe rather in the love of God and His willingness to take your soul under his wings at the end of your sojourn on earth, believe that this world around you and whatever happens in it is temporary and will all come to an end. Even Death will come to an end. What we as christians should be hustling for is what comes afterwards! Don't focus on eternal damnation if not you will continue being angry. Focus on eternal life and peace instead!

He could have still used both methods, using supernatural means once in the while doesn't hinder Evangelists from moving
There is no record saying supernatural happenings did not occur when the missionaries evangelised Africa. They came in contact with a lot of danger including fetishes and witchcraft, how did they overcome it? Wasn't supernatural power needed to conquer these? Isn't it possible that ar least one miracle was wrought during evangelisations in those primitive times? Unless of course you don't believe in such things to begin with.

the book of Revelation was communicated through supernatural means, doesn't make sense to me relying on one method man
Doesn't make sense to you who cant see tomorrow but makes sense to God who sees all things from the beginning to the end. These were primitive times, there was no internet, and talking to human beings from the sky was out since the last time He tried it the people died(hence no man can look upon the face of God and live). Also there is something of a connection/ comfort between human beings when the person like you talks about an experience he is having. You will be more willing to accept than if a divine entity who doesn't know what it means to go hungry talks to you about hunger, you understand?

a corruptible, weak, slow, inefficient method to spread a message supposedly so important it could save lives, if you had the cure for cancer it would be wicked of you to use door to door method to spread the word, when one internet post can save MILLIONS...see what I mean?
Ordinary Paul and Silas came to a gentile nation to preach the gospel and after working miracles the people wanted to worship them as gods. This would have diverted them away from the message of salvation. Using supernatural methods have always thrown off the point of God's message. Even till today people flock to churches not for the salvation of their souls but for flamboyant miracles. The soul is more important to God than the flesh because the soul is immortal. The flesh isn't and will decay here.

Christianity Etc › Re: Question For Believers by 5minsmadness: 8:30am On Jan 30, 2015
If African traditional religion was so powerful why couldn't they withstand Christianity when it came? Why did Jesus come through a lowly maiden and not through a king's household? Why did God not just speak from the sky? These are questions the human mind will continue to ask because it is carnal/worldly and does not think as God thinks. You look around you and see that despite all the scientific advancement around us the world is crumbling instead of getting better. There are wars everywhere, immorality has increased, gays are now kissing in public, rape is the order of the day, almost every food you can eat can cause cancer. Cant you see that nature is rebelling? Cant you see the end all around you? Do you really need a college degree to figure out that the supernatural exists?

so today confronted this lady in question and she told me that it is my husband that is after her and that she will always welcome him anytime he comes to her
I hope you realise this is a lie. The first thing a girl does when confronted especially if she is the one being chased by the man is to deny it outright but this woman is quick to tell you that even though your husband is the one after her that she will welcome him anytime he comes. What rubbish. I hope you at least gave her a dirty slap. And she is a church member /christian? Rubbish.

meanwhile he doesn't even behave as if something is wrong
I can only speak from personal experience. I have been falsely accused of cheating with another lady before(yes she sent me unsolicited nude pics which I never asked for) and the more I denied it the more my partner insisted, so in the end I simply ignored everything. If I tell you I'm not cheating then I'm not cheating, period. Waiting for me to come and start talking about an imaginary girlfriend outside as if its an issue irritates the hell outta me.

My take, give your husband the benefit of the doubt. After all, you are the one that knows him more than us. If he wasn't a womaniser before then why should he start now? Also in all your exploits the honest truth is you haven't yet caught him red-handed , it is still mostly circumstantial evidence. I.could be wrong but I know what it is like being falsely accused because you are male and everyone expects somehow that cos of that you should cheat. It's annoying.

It seems like you are the one experiencing the dilemma, not your friend. A responsible man has come to marry this girl, he shows his seriousness by approaching the girl's parents immediately. If the girl didn't like him she wouldn't be accepting his small small gifts.

Fathers are usually nonchalant in such cases unless the suitor is an obvious vagrant. The man has made the right move bt approaching and buying gifts for the mother. In fact as far as am concerned he has behaved responsibly. The issue now is, why should we root for you? Are you responsible? Do you love this girl? Are you ready to marry her? How do we know you are not just being selfish by keeping this girl with you aa long as possible?Tell us why we should support you and not the other suitor.

You still have not answered my earlier question so it shows you dnt have proof to deliberate on your stance. You are not in every home to know what kind of issues faced by all women in Nigeria. Marriage is damn too complex and multi faceted for you to narrow most issues to be caused by unsubmissivesness afterall men are not jesus. Just as our faces are different so also are our problems.

Literature › Re: How To Survive A Zombie Apocalypse-shorts By 5mmadness by 5minsmadness(op): 8:52pm On Jan 25, 2015
“So how do we go about this? Do we catch another zombie?” Dr Burke asked excitedly.

They were seated at the dinner table having lunch. Efe had been put up to speed on what had happened to him. He received the news of his girlfriend and the homosexual couple with great sadness. It was unfortunate that Jenny had a broken neck; according to Dr Stephan, any life threatening injury would kill the zombie if he gave them the antidote and they reverted back to their human selves.

“I’m thinking of how I can convert it into an aerosol, that way we should be able to administer it without too much risk.” Dr Stephan replied while chewing on some cabbages.

“I might be able to help you there,” Dr Burke said. “I have a depressurizer in compartment 32…” and the doctors began mumbling between themselves.

Silas had a faraway look in his eye and Caleb asked him what was wrong.

“I killed her. My wife, I killed her…”

“You better stop that kind of thinking right now!” Caleb retorted. “Do you know what we did before we got here? Man, we had no choice in the matter! We were trying to survive, Efe here used a shotgun and a chainsaw on some zombie folks, how do you think he feels?”

Silas was silent.

“It’s not your fault if you killed anyone.” Dr Burke cut in. “We all did what we had to do to survive. Even now we still aren’t sure if we’ll be able to get everybody with the vaccine…”

“I have limited resources here. I have to get the vaccine to a bigger lab where I can produce it in large amounts. What I have here is not enough to convert twenty zombies and there is a multitude of them out there.

“The only way we can make up for what we have done is to try and convert as many people back to human beings as possible.” Efe said quietly.
He was still feeling down. “we gat to help as much as we can, Caleb. For Jenny.”

They were all quiet. Silas looked around at all of them and suddenly realized what needed to be done.

“Dr Burke, do you guys know of any lab where Dr Stephan can manufacture more of the vaccine?”

“There’s the Eisenhower lab down town. About three hours drive from here.”

“Yeah, I’ve always wanted to tinker around that place, they have the latesdt equipment.” Dr stephan replied.

“Right. Dr Burke, you are going to help Dr Stephan turn this vaccine into an aerosol as soon as you can. It will be easy spraying the stuff in them zombie faces instead of pricking each one with a needle.”

“Ok, sounds good.” Dr Burke replied.

“Caleb and Efe, we are both going to be spending a lot of time getting fit. We are going to make it our mission to take these scientists to the lab as soon as they are ready to move. We have one shotgun between us but we’ll do our best.

“One shotgun?” Dr Stephan looked up,surprised, then turned to Dr Burke with a frown. Dr Burke sighed.

“You know the protocol. I had to make sure I trusted them first.” Dr Burke said resignedly.

“Trusted us how?” Caleb asked. “What are you guys talking about?”

Dr Burke sighed again and got up, motioning for the others to follow him. Dr Stephan stayed behind to finish his meal. Dr Burke went to the bathroom and entered the toilet.

“We didn’t need this before, but if we are going to go on an expedition out of this room, we might as well be fully prepared.”

He turned the flush lever upwards instead of down and the toilet slid forward a bit. Dr Burke pulled and the toilet and the wall it was attached to moved aside like a door to reveal another room.

An arsenal room.

A room filled to the brim with guns, crossbows, grenades and other forms of artillery.

Efe whistled.

“You have everything except an armoured tank.” Caleb gasped.

“Yeah, that one’s outside under the parking lot.” Dr Burke replied.

Dr Burke and Dr Stephan isolated the zombie Efe in the first room while Silas and Caleb watched from went to get cleaned up. As soon as they were through, they came out to see that Dr Stephan had injected Zombie Efe with the antiserum.

It had been 30minutes.

“Why isn’t it working?” Dr Burke asked agitatedly.

“Patience, Burke.” Dr Stephan replied. “This guy has been a zombie for a long time…”

“A few hours, doctor.” Silas interjected.

“Ah, Yes.” Dr Stephan replied with a grim smile. “Dr Burke told me he was a previous colleague of yours. It will take a while before it takes effect, I haven’t worked out all the kinks in the vaccine yet but I’m sure I’ll be able to hasten the process after some more research…”

Zombie Efe suddenly began to groan. They all stood at alert. They watched as the colour returned to his cheeks and he started bleeding from scratches and wounds on his body. Soon he started to turn from side to side and then suddenly fell off the table and began to vomit. Caleb wanted to go to him but Silas held him back

“Wait a minute.” Silas cautioned. “Let’s make sure he is fully back first.”

After vomiting some more, Zombie Efe stood slowly to his feet. He looked slowly from one person to the other and his eyes finally rested on Dr Burke. He opened his mouth slowly and said

“Okay, I bang that girl abeg no vex…wait…wetin dey happen? Where am I?”

“Reactionary Memory Loss.” Dr Stephan said, nodding his head like he had just had a revelation. “the subject retains the last thoughts from when
he was human. I guess it’s for the best.”

Efe turned to Caleb. “Bros, wetin dey happen? Who vomit all this vomit? Who get all this blood for my shirt?”

“Go and shower first, ldiot!” Caleb shouted, although there was a wide grin on his face. “I go gist you later!”

Dr Burke watched as Efe lumbered towards the bathroom, Caleb behind him and making sure he didn’t stain the walls with his soiled clothing.

“It’s amazing. You’ve actually found a cure! Good man!” And for the first time he grinned and clasped Dr Stephan’s hand in admiration. Silas watched this show of affection, bemused. The doctor must have been really hard hit by the zombie apocalypse. He realized he had never bothered to ask the stern doctor what he lost.

Seems you already know the interpretation of your dream.

Dream 1. A warning. Your blessings will come but something you did will make it a fraction of what you are supposed to get.

Dream 2. A bus leaving you in a dream as far as I know is not a bad sign. It shows a near miss from a dangerous situation. You should be happy the bus zoomed off without you.

I think you should be prayerful and be careful how you handle issues that would have brought accolades to you. Situations in which a lot of folk would have seen you succeed/prosper/gain etc and then from something you did it all fizzles to little.
Sha be prayerful.
Family › Re: Please Advice by 5minsmadness: 1:33pm On Jan 25, 2015
@xtraordinaire

Now that the female folk have sympathized with you adequately, I wish to have my say.

It appears you married a chronic cheat and womanizer. You have lived under this situation for a while which shows you are an accomodating wife. Not all women will endure what you have endured. Kudos to you.

Your man promised you that he will stop womanizing this year . Apparently his efforts are yielding fruit that is why one of his ashawos outside has called you out of frustration to release his pen1s for them. They will do all they can to upset you so that you will leave your house and your man will go crawling back to them. Its like 'if we cant have him, his wife won't enjoy him too'. That's what they are doing. They are bringing up past mistakes like the STD to get you emotional and leave him so they can have chance. If you leave you are playing right into their hands.

My advice.

Get him screened for HIV and STDs. Any hospital can do this for you and its not expensive. Also tell him he will be doing his HIV screening every 6months. This will keep him aware of the dangers of flirting outside. There is no test men fear more than HIV test.

Secondly, be prepared for more calls. The longer he stays indoors with you, the more his oloshos are going to get angry. No more sex from him, no more favours or money from him. They will find a way to get your number and call. But eventually when they see you are not budging they will leave him and go after other fish.

Thirdly. This man has made a habit of womanising for years. He has resolved he wont do so this year. You stuck around all the other years, why leave now that he has resolved to change? Its like a bad habit, its not easy to break even if he means to change from his heart. I'm sorry to say he might fall one more time. Be prepared for this. It may not happen o, but prepare yourself emotionally for it if it does. If it does happen teach him a lesson he will never forget, let him see you very angry etc but deep down be prepared to forgive him after he has suffered small. This will strengthen his resolve to stay with you and have a deep respect for you.

Some women marry faithful men who later in marriage become unfaithful. Some marry womanizers who later in marriage realise that all is vanity and stop their outside exploits. I think yours is the latter and I pray it works out ok for both of you in the end.

All the best.
