Career › Re: Career Advice For Women by 5minsmadness: 12:47pm On Feb 05, 2015
mutter:
I advice my daughters to grow up emancipated and proud of what they are- women.

If you have your periods- to hell if everyone knows ! that`s what makes you a woman. Don`t go swallowing unnecessary pills to avoid pain or to stop the period coming altogether.

Take off time from work to attend to your family matters! The project can wait or be submitted a day later or taken home .
This is what is expected of man and woman. Jobs today are paying more attention to the needs of the family and flexible working hours. In the western world families are dying out because of the stress of combining work and children.

My daughter everything "work "you learn at the Uni, everything "marriage" you learn from me and your faith.

Your first career and fulfillment as a woman is to be a wife and mother. That is the natural role of a woman.

Don`t let any silly women who claim they are feminist tell you any different. These women are struggling to be regarded as men and end up not meeting up to the expectations of a man and not meeting up to the expectations of a woman.

In is your fundamental right to live as a woman, feminine, soft and gentle, married and nursing and no one has a right to rob you of it.

When my daughter got her first contact with working class women without a husband and kids she came home and told me she was really scared. She did not want to end up like that. smiley

Right now I am here fantasizing about my daughters marriage when the time comes and not her first job. tongue
Sweet!

Still have a thing -you mean still keeping the anger of the things that happened in the past?

I don't know how to answer this question. From what I have observed he is a very good, sensitive, caring man.

It's hard to believe he did bad things. Maybe because of cannabis that he was using then. I don't know.

If you saw him you wouldn't believe he could have done bad things; cause he's a really nice and thoughtful guy, my family and friends love him.
These ladies talking to you don't know your man better than you do. They all are talking from their own experiences, not yours. Inasmuch as some of their advice ain't bad, don't project their own doubtful thoughts over a man they have never met to you who has seen him and interacted with him in person.

1. I have this view... Maybe I should get it out of my head but I can't help it: I think; since he loves me so much and wants to spend rest of his life with me, since I'm the woman he's in love with; then if he makes a child with me, he should love that child more. More than the one he made with a slutty ex by accident, who is still behaving in an evil way. (additional info: she tricked him and got pregnant on purpose, and after 1.5-2 years cheated)

What do you think about this? Do you think men love their children more if those children are made with a woman they're in love with? Do you think I'm right in wishing for such a thing?
You cannot predict who a man will love more by this postulation. Its not about loving more. Its his child and they have a natural bond and he will love this child regardless of how 'slutty' her mother is. Do not project the mother's 'hateful' characteristics on the child.

Because I have always thought having a child with the one you love is one of the most beautiful and special things in life. And those children are fruits of love, and they are lovelier and more loving people themselves....
This is true.
I like that little child, but sometimes I find myself resentful that he loves the child of such a slut so much. And then I think; if he's gonna love my child at the same level; then what's special about it...What's special about having a child with the one you love and all?

*****

2. I also think, his child with his ex ( 4 now) might influence the children I will have with him in a bad way, if she came living with us. Sometimes I think it might be nice... but sometimes I think she will be an outsider, kind of like a secret agent; not exactly from the family; representing a slutty mother, and maybe sometimes reminding her, or defending her. Kind of like a dark cloud above the happiness of the family. Keeping us from behaving comfortably, or keeping us from just being the family; like for example preventing me from telling my children how I met the love of my life, their father, my future husband, because she might get jealous or something. Lots of things like that.... What do you think about this? huh
The fire condition of living happily ever after with a single parent is for you to accept their child. If you know in your heart of hearts that you cant do it, move on. If you go ahead and marry him and your little doubts and disdain for this child grows then you are going to be the one to lose because the more you try to push the child away the more you are going to push him away from you. Marriage is for life. Don't enter with doubts.

My man said she might put her mother's picture in her own room when she comes living with us, or even a picture of the mother and my man and the child together (as a family!!?!!!) and he said as much as he wouldn't like this, he should be and also I should be ok with this... undecided
He isn't doing this for himself. He is doing it for the child. She is four and already knows who her mother is. The picture might be of comfort to her. Don't see it as invasion of your home/space.

3. Sometimes it's also bothering me that she has a part of him... That way she made herself "forever" remaining in his life, that way or the other. In a way, she still has power over him. As if, he, in a way, partially belongs to her. Despite him saying he hates her badly and everything and they don't even have a proper friendly conversation. He is the father of her child. And he's crazy about her (his) child! There's no stronger bond than that! cry cry cry
This is also true. Nothing you can do about it.

Then, I love him so much and he's exactly what I'm looking for.... And we have a beautiful, lovely, romantic relationship and we get on well, have similar views in life and similar mindset, talk about anything and everything for hours, value each other deeply....

And then I find myself upset and. And I need advice on these bothering issues!

Can I silence these thoughts?

SHOULD I RISK?

SHOULD I LEAVE?
Not everyone is built to be accommodating. If you know you cannot emotionally handle his extended family/baby mama and baby, then I suggest...no matter how painful it might sound...I suggest that you leave him. Love easily turns sour in this world and marriage is a tough enough institution without bringing these outside factors into play. If you know you cannot accommodate the man and child now then nothing will change in 1yr, 5yrs or 10yrs from now.

You will definitely find the right match for you as you continue your soul searching. But don't bring ruin to three lives(yours included) because you couldn't see past the immediate future. At the end of the day the choice still lies with you.

Yes a metaphorical and allegorical reason. NOT a LITERAL reason (obviously).
And what metaphorical/allegorical reason would that be?

Meanwhile the red devil with horns didn't come up until medieval times...but that's by the way.

KoloOyinbo:
Do you understand allegory and metaphor? The people of biblical times did. Its merely painting a picture of evil/satan. Please don't take it literally when it mentions 666 etc.

I mean why ever would superstitious nonsense like that be relevant to our God or even to Satan? Leave that rubbish to the juju believing babalawos.

(Probably spelt babalawos wrong but you get the idea).

Christianity is about out relationship with God and our Salvation NOT a set of primitive taboo's and magic numbers fit only for the uneducated.

I say AGAIN and AGAIN what sort of foolish Christian is so uneducated (both temporally and spiritually) to actually believe that a mere number is significant in any manner to God, Satan or salvation?
Well if it was so insignificant then why use the number in the first place?

3.1415? Looool, now I know you're just trying to catch some fun!

The number 666 was specifically mentioned in the bible. Not 665 or 667 or 3.14156272....

It was mentioned for a reason.
Christianity Etc › Re: Small signs to show The End Is Coming by 5minsmadness(op): 4:15pm On Feb 04, 2015
KoloOyinbo:
By no do you mean numbers?

I am not sure of your stance but merely commenting that those who take small excerpts literally where allegory and metaphor have been use to make a point actually miss the point and introduce a stupid superstition instead of the message. Hence this ridiculous idea of '666' actually having some evil or satanic connotation or the even more moronic idea that barcodes/social security numbers/bank account numbers are all some juju of the antichrist. How a true Christian would even listen to such patent superstitious nonsense is beyond me.
So sir what is your interpretation of the significance of the number 666? Even in the book of revelations the author says it has a hidden meaning and required wisdom to decipher its true connotation. I initially subscribed to the thought that is was the literal number 666 that ws going to be used and even now certain secret societies use it in their symbols. But now I have come to think of it more as a sign for a common commodity we will not be able to do without. Something that indeed will be specific for each individual and would require a certain level of freedom to be sacrificed for its use.

What's your take on it?

Pickabeau1, I'm tagging you here, as I recall you were starting a programme (skipping) some time back.
Good evening one and all.

After days of meditating on this topic and the ensuing responses that came after it, I decided to get with the program and pick up my skipping ropes from where I had put them. I am proud to say that two days after picking up the skipping ropes I actually skipped 100counts this morning after which I promptly lapsed into a coma. Upon recovery I felt good about it and went on to complete another 400reps. I felt good. Really good. I hope to do another 500 before I go to sleep and then make it a daily affair, God willing. Thanks for the inspiration.

Family › Re: Why Is There Much Concern About "Getting A Spouse" In Present Day Nigeria by 5minsmadness: 10:19am On Feb 04, 2015
Marriage in Nigeria especially to the ladies is regarded more as a high social achievement than anything else. I have heard this phrase being used many times:
"how is she better than me? She's a graduate, am a graduate. She's married, am married. She has kids, I have kids." This phrase summarises the major milestones of an average Nigerian woman's life.

This is not saying those milestones are not important, no, they are. However our ladies seem to want to achieve those milestones for the wrong reasons. There are many uneducated graduates, marriages devoid of love and immature people having children.

It doesn't help that there is an increased ratio of women compared to men. This is bad enough for the women folk but then they have to vie for the few good and responsible men among the very many bad ones. The competition is intense and not for the light hearted.
Finally taking into consideration the fact that the woman's fertility is on a timer as against the man's, and so she should hurry up and get legally impregnated...in fact the obstacles seem overwhelming some times. So we see mothers, aunties, concerned family friends and now pastors urging thier flock to get married.

I cant blame anybody. Its actually not easy. It would be better though if people entered relationships for the right reasons.
