How do u expect her to demand for it...where we live in a society in which every "decent" lady is expected to "hate" sex
But how come anytime the man asks for it you see the woman complaining 'sex is not food, are u an animal, am tired , I have headache, etc '. But when the action starts they want it to go on and on as if they have been starving for it since? Why the initial shove-offs?
Family › Re: Does Being A " Good African Wife"= Suffering? by 5minsmadness:
When one thinks of a good African wife, one portrays a hardworking diligent woman. A woman who takes care of her household while the man is out at work. This woman wakes up early in the morning to make sure the kids go to school in time and the meals are prepared for the family as at when due. A woman that does all these is loved and respected by her husband and he will go the extra mile for her to make her happy.

Not so the 'modern' woman. All she wants to do is chat on the internet all day long , shopping for irrelevancies like shoes and handbags when she has a whole closet of them already. She goes to sleep late because she was watching 'telemundo' late into the night and then complains when her husband wakes her up in the morning to tend to the kids while he prepare for work. She can't cook, she can't clean, she can't even wash her own clothes. Such a woman will always demand d for respect because none will be willingly given to her.

There is nothing wrong in using gadgets to help reduce the stress of everyday life. However some of them are just going to make the lazy woman lazier. Personally I hate the yam pounder but then again its the men in my household that pound the yam so that doesn't count. The washing machine is necessary especially when kids come into the picture. The dishwasher is pure rubbish, haba, how many plates are in the sink that you need a machine to wash it for you? You don't need it unless you are running a restaurant. Epidural is dangerous. I have seen three women that have come off with complications to either themselves or the baby afterwards. And it is mega-expensive, avoid it if you can or kukuma do c/s. And as for the gas-cooker, nothing wrong with it if you can afford it.

The funny thing is that lazy wives will still ask for assistance even after the husband provides all these things for her. You hear her saying 'honey, how was work? Pls fill the washing machine for me, its time for gulder ultimate search and you know I don't miss it.'

A good African wife= Respect.
A lazy African wife = suffering.

Marriage is not Walt Disney. There's no fairytale 'and they lived happily ever after' in any marriage. All the love stories you have ever watched on the movies are just that...stories.

Reality is much different.

In real life the woman farts and shits smelly shit and gains weight and stretch marks and becomes irritable because she has to tend to the screaming noisy kids that came after the wedding. The man becomes bored, tired , pushed to the sidelines because of the kids, harassed consciously or unconsciously almost daily for financial needs, loses sleep if he stays with the baby, is made to feel guilty if he doesn't, develops a pot belly and grey hair etc.

In essence a lot of changes take place in the years you will be together and there is no way you as a person won't get fed up once in a while. At such times is when the grace of God(or whatever higher power you subscribe to) is supposed to pull you through. That's is why marriage is a spiritual/sacred contract and not a purely physical one. It is the people that base their marriage on physical attraction only that end up getting a divorce later on cos they have nothing to hold on to when the going gets tough.

Family › Re: Why Do They Ask This Question On wedding Day by 5minsmadness: 8:36am On Nov 03, 2014
The church wants to make sure there is no coercion or manipulation or blackmailing or unfinished business between the couples. Marriage is supposed to be entered into with a free mind, nothing hidden. If anyone raises an objection it will be heard and the marriage might be postponed.

However those were olden days methods. The priest says it nowadays just for formality as all the objections should have been taken care of before the wedding day.

With all the op posted, the wife is right to be using some form of birth control. If marriage is not working she shouldn't be having anymore babies.

Mygeez, take your wife for a proper family planning, stop having babies and sort your marriage out or divorce her if you don't want her anymore.

newslife:
I always wonder how two people who loved themselves so much and so dearly before marriage but after marriage, or maybe after thier honeymoon or first child you will find out that they show no sign of love anymore as they used to before marriage, am just wanting to know what might be the course, does marriage affect love?
Before marriage people are not usually in love. Just euphoric or really passionate about each other. Some are even mutually obsessed with each other. They cannot easily see each other’s faults. Having sex beforemarriage also blinds the couples to each others faults. Also what is informal is usually sweeter than what is formal; as long as the relationship is informal and each party feels the other can leave anytime they want, they will work hard to keep the other person.

All this changes after marriage. Now it is their right to have sex so its no longer as exciting. Now they are formally/legally tied to each other. No need to fight for the other persons affections. Now they are expected to live with each other. No need to pretend and hide faults anymore. Reality gives both of them a hard slap on the face.

This is where it is important to marry someone who is compatible with you. Someone who you can get along with and be a friend to. Someone whose goals are similar to yours. So that when reality sets in and the euphoria fades away the person you will see will be someone you can live with.
It is after this stage that true love grows.

Like I said we all know each other. Like a group/clique thing. It was him using a new number and I guess trusting my babe not to say anything..smh.

Anyway I called him with the mysterious number and sent him on an errand. When he asked how I got the number I told him my gf gave it to me since his other numbers weren't going thru(obvious lie tongue) Guy was so silent I thought he had cut the line. Finally responded. At least the work will keep his idle mind busy for a while. Hopefully he's not an idi0t and will get the message.

Family › How Do I React To This? by 5minsmadness(op):
I and my girl have been going out for more than a year now and she is the sweetest soul I have ever met. Recently I mistakenly saw a text message from an unknown number declaring foolish exhortations of love and when I checked further I saw she had replied the guy, telling him in clear terms to keep off. I brought it to her attention and she laughed it off and told me it was some random guy and I should forget about it which I kind of did.

Three days ago we were talking when her phone rang and she cut the call. It rang again and I became suspicious when she put her phone off. So I probed and she said I shouldnt worry but I insisted she put it back on and eventually she did. Sure enough, like 15mins later this guy calls with same mysterious number and she put it on speaker. It was then I realised he's my friend at work! He was smooth talking her and she warned him once again that she wasn't interested, even went so far as to insult him and finally cut the phone. The guys last words with his fake american accent was 'P*** baby, don't be like this..."

She has assured me that there is nothing going on between them and I believe her but what is really pissing me of is this guy is my friend at work. If we are talking rank he is a junior colleague. I've tried to be matured about it and forget the matter but seriously anytime he walks by my desk I feel like giving him a serious beating. I'm wondering wether to confront him about it or let it slide. Seriously if it were somebody else I think I would have given good advised but now it's happened to me I'm severely confused. I want to beat him up.
Family › Re: Gender Stereotypes Part I by 5minsmadness: 4:01pm On Nov 01, 2014
Please note that just because something is stereotyped doesn't mean the stereotyping is false. I copy from carefreewannabe's definition:
stereotype

1 A widely held but fixed and oversimplified image or idea of a particular type of person or thing
In no part of this definition is the word false or wrong used. The functional verbs here are fixed and oversimplified.

So of course there will be exceptions to the norm. If I see an emotionless woman I am more likely to be surprised and point at her and say 'that woman thinks like a man'. In as much as I am being stereotypical I am also simply asserting that most (not all) women allow emotion affect their decisions while men do not. Its is not a false statement but it cannot apply to all women.

The fact is, women are more emotional than men. They show their emotions faster. That's what makes them women. And we love them for it.

Men are more logical. It doesn't mean men do not show emotion, but they have a firmer grasp on it. This makes it easier for them to take decisions that will be for the general common good instead of decisions that will affect a favourable few.

Funny enough, the only reason most times men show their emotion is usually because of a woman. But that's another story.

What exactly is well said?

Which argument is good?
In a nutshell:
Men had a higher ability to feel, but also had the ability to suppress their emotions a trait that gives them the ability to connect with the logic part of their brain and while women did otherwise

Tunde is Man U fan, he can do anything for Man U. On this unfaithful day Man U was beaten mercilessly by Chelsea. That day was not a good day for Tunde, he was boiling in anger due his teams failure ... in period a chelsea fan was teasing him, something led to something that made him end up punching the guy on the face ... the guy died on the spot. Tunde was arrested and he is spending the rest of his life in Jail.

Fact 1. Tunde has emotions, Fact 2. Tunde can act on his emotions ... Fact 3 Tunde can be emotional

Martha is a business executive, on some days she happy and fun but on a certain period every month she is overbearing. Infact on one of such days she blew off a deal that would have made the company earn so much, because she over heard a lady delegates from the visiting company side gossiping with her colleagues as to how fat she had become.

Fact 1. Martha has emotion Fact 2. Martha can act on her emotion ... Fact 3. Martha can be emotional.

What I am trying to achieve by the above examples is to establish the fact that both sexes experience emotions, they have feelings they can experience intense range of emotions from love to anger, but most importantly NO gender has the monopoly of acting solely at a given point in time based on emotions.

So the question is not do Men feel, or experience emotions ... the is question is Are Women are more emotional than men. They are two different questions
... It is important we note that.

It is also important we do not take this question out of context. What the research posted by the Op simply backed is the the fact that men feel, It does not back the fact whether they are emotional or not.

To answer the question Are Women are more emotional than men we need to understand what been emotional means in this context, especially from popular culture ... This term is used to depict the fact that Women base most of their decision on emotions rather than logic and men do the opposite.

The focus I believe of this thread should be either debunking this Statement by proving that women base most of their decision making process on logic instead of emotions and that men based theirs on emotions rather that logic.

Now I stand with the motion that Women act on emotions more than men for whatever reasons caused by culture or science.

What better way to back this premise than the OP's research findings that simply backs my assertions ... It simply showed that Men had a higher ability to feel, but also had the ability to suppress their emotions a trait that gives them the ability to connect with the logic part of their brain and while women did otherwise.

So what are we debating about again ? ... undecided

Thank you sir.
Well said.

Op please learn to deal with the issue as maturedly as possible. Thats why am so so scared of marriage. [s]You give others the power to hurt you once you love or get married[/s].
No you don't. Don't mind these girls giving free opinions here. You decide as the man what you want in your marriage and you decide early on during courtship. And if your wife goes out of line like disrespecting you the way this guy's wife is disrespecting him, you discipline her on the spot.

I'm not an advocate for divorce though. Its obvious they are having trust issues. Maybe oga wants a boy child like someone said and madam isn't ready yet. So she hid and took birth control. Unfortunately she got caught. Op should confront her, discipline her and forgive her, maybe come to a compromise and give her one more year of rest.

A relationship like marriage should not be easily discarded. Unless there was never any real love to begin with.
