pickabeau1: Nice one bro....I feel you

I am just being practical

Have u seen the thread on mourning a husband who died but was a cheat
I ignored the thread. I saw the post that inspired it.

One thing women don't realise is that men ARE beasts. Yes we are. We have little feeling, little emotion. We are logical creatures. And we learn very fast.
By the time they poison the first man and throw a party to celebrate the death of the second man, we men will take over. We will poison more women to get the sexy vixen outside. We will celebrate the death of our nagging wives by marrying a new one a week later and fucking her in front of her children.
Men are beasts like that. We are hardly outdone.

Two wrongs never makes a right.

I have learnt to ignore certain threads so as not to get unnecessarily aggravated.

pickabeau1: With the rate some women are making silent threats to kill or poison their hubby if he steps out of line or as they see fit

They will not even mourn

I think divorce should be further destigmatized

It is better to divorce than DIEvorce
Marriage is unconditional. If either partner sets a line for the other to cross then it becomes inevitable that such a partner will cross that line. You cannot poison someone you love even if he hurts you. That's just the truth. It means you didn't marry him or her for the right reasons either.
A man should be able to forgive his wife if she commits adultery. A woman should be able to forgive her husband if he beats her. Moses only put the clause of 'except on grounds of adultery' because the people were hard of heart.

Yes I said it! Forgive the person or there will be no need for marriage! 'Till death do us part' is not a physical statement it is spiritual! There is wisdom in it! If you can't do it then don't come to church. Go do traditional wedding where all it take to divorce your wife is to return her bride price or divorcing your husband you show him your ass. Do not come to church!
Family › Re: Divorce Or Till Death Do Us Part? by 5minsmadness:
Next thing people will start divorcing because the partner sleeps with their tummy instead of their back and the other person 'just can't stand it'. Boo hoo. This generation is an irresponsible generation. A microwave generation that wants everything ready in five minutes and with a 'ping' instead of working for it. A mushroom generation with no deep set roots to withstand the harsh winds of life-how will it stand the test of time?

If you marry for selfish reasons, with a 'me first' attitude; you CANNOT have a fulfilled marriage. It is just not possible. You cannot physically meet and stay with anybody on this planet for the rest of your life without him/her rubbing you the wrong way. Even Romeo and Juliet had a disagreement at some point. If they had not committed suicide and lived 30yrs together the story would have been different.

Husbands marry and love your wives. If you love her your aggressive nature will be controlled and you won't want to harm her, rather you will want to use your strength and nurture her and she will bloom.

Wives marry and submit to your husbands. If you submit to him your rebellious and talkative tendencies will be controlled and your tongues will be used to bless your husband and your homes instead of tearing it down.

End.

Add your opinion, let's help save our failing marriages
This topic doesn't help 'save' failing marriages. If anything it will further erode the foundation for which the institution of marriage is placed.

The moment you guys stopped allowing spirituality in your lives, the moment you decided that marriage was a business agreement instead of a spiritual bond, that is the moment marriage failed for you.

'Till death do us part' is not a statement that stands alone. It starts with promising to love and cherish the person. For the rest of your life. You enter a marriage because you feel you have found that someone you will give your all for. That someone you love UNCONDITIONALLY, not because he is rich or poor, not because she might give you children or not; UNCONDITIONALLY. If you want to marry just so as to fulfil societal will the by all means do traditional wedding. If you marry because you want to have kids with this person and make sure the person does not stray outside by all means write a prenuptail agreement and go to court.

But if you want to marry IN A CHURCH under a spiritual head then know it is a spiritual bond you are about to undertake and be ready to live it.

'Till death do us part' didn't do anything to you. Leave it alone. If you don't like it there are other options as stated above.
QED.
Family › Re: How Can I Get My Attention Back. by 5minsmadness: 4:02pm On Oct 01, 2014
Nyway! Op this is what happened:
1. You got overexcited. If you had succeeded in digging her the first time you would probably have suffered premature ejaculation.

2. What you are experiencing now is called 'blue balls' syndrome i.e congestion of blood in the vessels surrounding your testes. It can be quite painful but it won't kill. Take buscopan.

3. Your erection will return by tomorrow, or when the blue ball effects stop, whichever comes first.

Isn't this supposed to be in romance section? undecided

Op don't be in a hurry to get married. Chill out with your babes until you become independent. If you marry like this it is the woman that will start giving you stress about being a man of your own.

Too many children on Nairaland.
Too many females(f) here pretending to be males(m)
.
Women, something has to be your responsibility in the house. A sane woman won't enter a marriage expecting her husband to be the one to know how to cook. Its not even normal in foreign countries.

Too many children on this forum.

He said that even with that, no one could go in for fear of attack by the dogs, until his wife rushed back after she received a distress call.
“Nobody could go in, including the police, but my wife had to summon courage and defy the dogs’ barking and threat to go in and saw her son in the pool of his own blood, carried him and rushed out of the house.
Now that is a mother's love!

Nairaland is not a place to come and rate your child. By the time some crazy folk come and start insulting the child and you together you will start complaining. If you don't know that you don't need anybody to rate your child before you appreciate him/her then am sorry for you.

i agree with your postulation but how long do u think it will take to get there.. sounds dystopic cry cry
Sooner than you think. There are already virtual porn worlds where you register online under an anonymous name and you are assigned an avatar in the form of a 3Dmale or female model. Then you can have online sex with another user and the avatars act out the scenarios. Its all very posh and costs a pretty dollar. Soon guys won't need to get physical and girls can satisfy themselves with their dildoes and e-romance novels. Physical relationships as we know it will come to an end and with it the institution of marriage, family and social structure will crumble to dust.

And then the devourer will come.

MizMyColi:

Before I say anything, the underlying cause of the issue raised @Topic is pure, unadulterated SELFISHNESS undecided

Well Beau, Pansophist is right in his own rights.
The opinions I'm about to express are solely mine and isn't intended to disrupt anyone's thought process in this regard.

I'm prolly the president of the school of thought that there is a spirit in man, the inspiration of the almighty gives him understanding - of what is right, of what is wrong, of what should be, of what shouldn't be.

Without being bigoted nor patronizing, I have to state that it irks me and everyone whose conscience is still alive, the spate at which right is suddenly becoming wrong, at a geometrical rate and wrong's suddenly becoming right, at what I'd call speed of light.

Excuse me,
That people no longer have the time for sex/fulfilling their marital obligation, hence turning to _erotic literatures, intimacy gadgets, online __Pronography and their likes doesn't make it the right thing!

That's Selfish!

I mean, I hate to sound insensitive, but hey, the fact that things aren't the way I'd ideally expect them to be in my place of work for example, doesn't mean I should stop putting in my best or become so complacent, there'll be consequences, the same can be said of a marriage situation.

Marriage is an institution........
You never graduate from it.
Ideally, no one hates marriage.
People who do must have had battering experiences.

And whether we accept it or not, true love, in its truest and unadulterated form will continue to be in fashion as the innermost yearning all, even of the best men and women haters ever liveth/walked planet earth.
The reason is simple, Love is our nature, Love is our default setting.
Ask Indian Movies Producers cheesy

What am I saying in essence? That something has become a trend doesn't mean we should form a bandwagon and consciously/subconsciously go along with it.
Let the ideals of marriage as we know it be upheld.
Let there be mutual partnership/benefits ESPECIALLY mutually rewarding sex between human beings, not toy and human being or human being and electronics.
Where there are storms (like this topic), let's stay together in the marriage and weather it. Let's throw out other options.

Let love and compassion prevail, in all our dealings.
You can never go wrong following this path.
I love you.

pickabeau1: Yes i know its not in nigeria

I asked can it happen in the foreseeable future

We have guys who are getting disinterested in females

same with ladies who dont want to take on the mantle of marriage and be a wife

What do u think
Its very possible.
I can't remember when last I had that crazy urge to be with a member of the opposite sex. As in toasting levels. Why go thru all that drama when I can whip up a stash of my favourite ripherup videos tongue??

Soon marriage will be a thing of the past and test tube/ designer babies will be the norm. It will be like Sylvester Stallone's Demolition Man, when you want to have sex you just plug in.
No messy fluids
No fear of unwanted babies
No STDs except maybe computer viruses.

I know cococandy will be laughing at my weird imagination.

In the late 90s when Benin city was still waterlogged anytime it rained, a fat young girl was trying to cross the benin-sapele expressway to enter UBTH. She was a 200l accounting student. It was raining heavily and she didn't know that there was a big hole at the side of the road which had overflowed with water. She ran her fat ass across the road, holding her umbrella above her head. It was fun to see her flesh bobbing up and down like that and everyone stared.

The next thing that happened was she reached the other side of the road and suddenly disappeared, leaving behind her umbrella. It took a few seconds before people realised she had fallen into the hole.
Everybody ran across to help her and she was finally pulled out drenched from head to toe. She was OK.
But then everybody started to laugh. They laughed at the drenched fat girl that had been so clumsy as not to look where she was going. Its possible they laughed out of relief as well. Either way, she thought they were laughing at her. Fat girl falls in puddle and drenches herself head to toe. Classic!

She laughed along with them and they parted her on the back for being a good sport. Then she went home, shut the door and burst into tears. She cried and cried and cried some more. And then she became withdrawn. Anytime she left the house she felt all eyes were on her. Any two people talking she thought they were talking about her, that fat stupid girl that fell into a hole at the side of the road yesterday. Anytime people laughed she felt they were laughing at her, that fat stupid ugly girl that fell into a hole by the side of the road last week. When she was reading in engineering LT and she caught glimpses from other guys she would think they recognised her, that short fat stupid ugly girl that fell into a hole by the side of the road last year.

She finally graduated, alone and friendless. She met a guy and married him, not her first choice but she felt the guy she actually wanted to marry definitely knew about her embarrassing past and she was too embarrassed to start a relationship with him because she knew he saw her as that silly fat useless ugly girl who fell into a hole by the side of the road.

Someone else was there that day she fell. He was the one that helped her out of the hole. Yes he also laughed at her. When he got home that day his friend asked how his day was. "Fine". He said. "Anything happen?" His friend asked. "No o, just some girl who fell into a hole by the side of the road. Thank God she didn't injure." And that was the last they spoke of it. This guy was her class prefect and eventually was the one that married her. And he never associated her with that incident because frankly he didn't give it a second thought after that day and he had 500students in his class at the time, he couldn't possibly have remembered her face.

What's the moral of this story?

Don't give a Bleep what others say or do, because they don't remember anyway after a minute or two.
