spotit:See eh, that she has a problem doesn't mean she is crazy. Normal people have problems all the time. And yes. I happen to have a degree in psychology. |
Dcholeric:Bleep my 'better' post , this is NOT a competition. Nobody is trying to write a better post here. Your approach was horrendous at best. You don't come online and start suggesting to someone who has a problem to go kill herself, what's wrong with you dude? I see sha from your post and replies that you are an 'I don't care' kind of person. Well good for you but if you don't care others do. (Modified.) Just cos the hardest situation can't break you don't mean it can't break someone else I see your moniker. I'm glad you noticed mine. Peace. |
preshuzpearl:What you are experiencing is perfectly normal. It is a phase you are passing through and rest assured you will get through it. The fact that you think of it and start liking the idea shows that you yearn for it. It is just that outside influences are painting a bad image to you of what marriage is. I daresay you are looking in the wrong direction. Stop judging marriages by what you read on Nairaland or other sites. Bad news will always sell better than good news; people will only come online to complain about their marital problems, they won't come online to say how wonderful their marriages are. I daresay such people don't even have time for forums like Nairaland, Facebook, etc. Bad news sells. That's just the truth. Look at all the news that make front page, we have some jokes and fun , sure, but check out the number of views on things like 'man rapes wife for having her bath without his permission' or 'my husband divorced me because I am fat'. Such things do happen but not as often as the news makes you to believe. The bible says something about thinking/dwelling on things that are true, pure, just, etc. You cannot watch CNN for 24hrs without thinking the world will soon come to an end. I have someone who actually develops high bp from watching al Jazeera channel. You have to change the channel! Keep away from people or things that make you see marriages and relationships in a bad light. Read good and wholesome and mature books about the subject and don't depend on Nairaland to tell you how to live with the person you are going to fall in love with (I believe you already fact someone or you willin the near future.) Keep away from family section if you have to. Turn your gaze/ears/ direction towards more wholesome things. Things that will make you happy about the subject, not sad. Its all in your head. Its all about you, what you choose to listen to and what you chose to shut out. Chose happiness, its a conscious effort. Shut out the noise of sadness and emptiness and feelings of awkwardness or loneliness. Choose to enjoy and savour life and relationships. Don't let anyone take that choice from you. That is real living. |
@preshuzpearl I can categorically tell you that you are not depressed. I happen to have a certificate in this subject matter so I do know what I am saying. Do not take seriously what so.e people are trying to tell you here, like a poster said you must be able to divide the wheat from the chaff. All of us have our ups and downs, you are not alone. Everybody you see around you have an issue or the other that they are bottling up, it is just their ability to hide those flaws that make them seem 'normal'. There is a boy you know that thinks he is sick because he gets sexually aroused by older women. There is a girl in your neighborhood that can't help stealing anything she can lay her hands on. Even your closest pal now has a secret he keeps. It is our ability to control these urges that keep us human, that make us 'sane' or 'normal' members of society. You must have a root problem. If you have admitted that you find men and marriages disgusting you must be willing to let out exactly why you think those things are disgusting. If you like you can share it here and I will try my best to be of assistance. If not, then you should share with someone you know and trust. If you have no one then share it with yourself. Lock yourself in a room and take a blank piece of paper. Write down what the problem is, no matter how strange it looks. When you have written it down then pick the ones that are problems and write the solution. Once you have done that you can pray about it and then take the paper out and burn it. This is nutshell psychology but its all I can do in this limited space. You are NOT depressed OK? You just think different and the solution is usually simple. Keep your head up and cheer up. Brb. |
Dcholeric:How do I correct you without insulting you now? This was an extremely ignorant and insensitive post. You must NEVER post this kind of thing again, its not everything online that is a game. If you see a person in a dilemma like this you must NEVER suggest what you suggested above, EVER. You think the OP's temperament at this time is one that should be provoked by shock therapy? Do you k ow the implication of your statement? There are so many things I want to say to you now but I realise in your own warped way you were trying to help so I will hold my peace. Please do not for any reason in any situation in your life try this method again. The outcome can be very disastrous. |
preshuzpearl:What do you think the children are going to suffer when they come into this world? |
thorpido:I wouldnt say she is depressed. More of antisocial behavioural type C, or paranoia secondary to post traumatic stress disorder. Such people are shy, reserved, not interested in social mingling, might view others as discussing or thinking about them in a negative light, exceedingly apathetic i.e they don't care at all , or exceedingly empathetic i.e they care too much. Its not a mental illness pls. Just a social dysfunction. |
preshuzpearl:You are a bitter person. You need healing. The homosexual thing is a projection from your bitterness. You see no reason to engage in a meaningful relationship with members of the opposite sex and as the years go by you have begun to seek comfort in members of your own sex. The issue now is...what happened to you? Was it emotional or physical? Were you bullied, raped, emotionally abused, beaten, etc, or did you see any of these happen to someone you cared deeply about? Finding the root of the problem is the first step to solving it. Of course in a faceless forum like this you will find people that will tell you everything you are feeling is normal. That there is nothing wrong with you. That is to be expected. But you know there is something wrong hence your complaint and wanting to share your thoughts. Find the root of the problem. From there it can be tackled and uprooted and things will slowly but surely become normal for you again. |
Here are 12 commandment you must keep when I finally take you to the alter. Failure to keep these commandment will be accompanied with great consequencesAnd this right here is the beginning of a bad marriage. |

Still breathing (Brendan Fraser), the guy just woke up one morning and knew where his soulmate/true love was. Travelled across the oceans to find her in new York only to see a very wild girl. Still loved her though she thought he was a crazy lunatic. Had enough faith to let her go telling her she would be the one to find him when she was ready... And she did. Warrior: what people don't get in that last fight was that the violent younger brother beating up his elder brother was a cry for help. When the elder brother finally lets go of his emotions and beats up the junior brother, breaks his leg and keeps on beating him while shouting 'I'm sorry! I'm sorry!!" Was so touching... The Champ. Nobody at the time I watched this film was dry eyed at the end of this movie. I don't care who you are, if you don't have at least a tear at the end esp when the little boy starts crying for his dad to 'wake up', then there is something deeeeply psychologically wrong with you. Pain and Gain: I honestly don't know why I had tears at the end of this movie Maybe cos of the way a little thing that looks so good at the beginning can go so horrriblly wrong!3Idiots. I don't watch Indian films. Someone had to force me to watch this... And my opinion is it is still one of the best movies I have ever watched. Had to buy a copy for myself and bought a HD copy when that one got scratched. If you haven't watched it do so! Choji vs Jirobo: You are fighting a guy and you know the only way to beat him is to take a drug that will kill you You are scared sh1tless but you do it anyway so as to save your friends. After he won the fight he started feeling his heart give way and he staggered back to his side only to see notes his friends who had run off had left for him. "We know you can do it." "Kill the bastard and come" "We'll be waiting" And then that background heavenly music as he collapses to the ground and...and... |

Johnwills:Buy zinc tablets. Take it daily for one month. Also look for ORIGINAL Shea butter and rub the affected areas. Do not shave too close to the skin during this period. The bumps will disappear. Whatever remains is most likely going to be permanent. |
OnyeEgo1:I don't curse. I didn't curse you. I was angry you agreed with someone that was apparently insulting your father by calling him analog. Check my other posts to see if I am the insulting type. Anyways apologies if you were hurt. |
OnyeEgo1:You're welcome. |
OnyeEgo1 let me tell you a story. My sister joined a certain popular fellowship when she entered university. They were on fire, preaching the word and jumping and praising. We come from a quiet but deep Christian family and my sis hadn't experienced pentecostal worship like this before. She jumped head on into the fellowship. She rlwent for all the meetings and and prayer sessions and programmes, etc. She felt she had finally found the place to nurture her spiritual life. As is the way with most of these fellowships they started preaching about 'dead' churches. How the members could only be saved by coming to a 'living' church like thiers. How anybody who was against joining the church was fighting them spiritually. How Christ came to set father against son and mother against daughter etc etc. By the time sister came home she was on fire. Refused to go to church with the family. Anybody that questioned her was against her spiritual growth. That our parents were archaic, old school, etc. Nothing we could say could dissuade her instead she took us as attacking her faith. Finally we let her have her way. When we go to church she will go to her own. When we pray she will pray her own. You can imagine how the tension in the house was. Then she went back to school and soon we heard she had donated her phone to the church. We couldn't communicate with her and had to buy her a new phone. She sowed that one to the ministry also. Then money issues came. She started looking very stressed. Cut a long story short she's wiser now. She has realised that following God is a PERSONAL DECISION and not dependent on any pastor. Finding salvation is work done by THE INDIVIDUAL and not any particular church. After all your vexing, no pastor can replace your father. No fellowship can replace your family. Over and out. |
OnyeEgo1:Just cos someone is mad doesn't mean he isn't brilliant. And I still stand by my words on the other thread ![]() |
There are different types of hair. The straight type- this is common among white folk. The curved type - common among blacks. The hooked type- straight with a little hook at the end, common among people with dada hair. These three hair types abound in the population and are passed on from one generation to the next. Whenever you use a shaving stick to shave, it is designed to clip off the hair strand to as close to the skin as possible. Esp if you use shaving powder to soften and straighten out the hair. Some people shave so smooth that the hair is cut below the skin. When the hair tries to grow out again in a few hours the hooked or curved part bumps against the edge of the pore of the skin it was supposed to grow out of, and then gets stuck. So the hair starts growing back inwards. This is worse among those with hooked or curved hair. As it grows inwards it is going to irritate the skin and also trap bacteria which infect the skin as well. So the area now swells and sometimes becomes painful and little pus oozes out. These are the bumps. If you are prone to this kind of thing, bros, stop shaving. You won't like your skin after a few years especially if you are light complexioned. Use a clipper that doesn't cut as close as a shaving stick. Also avoid using shaving powder, no be by force to use am. Also endeavour to buy your own clippers so someone else who's bumps are infected won't share his bacteria with you. Over&out. |
Women are naturally Snoopy. They usually put their noses where it doesn't belong. Its ok, its a cute albeit sometimes irritable habit and we love them for it. Women also tend to misread things. A lot. They see a 'hello dear' and all hell breaks loose. They read a loose comment or lewd joke in a conversation with the boys and they start asking you to explain what you meant when you typed...etc, etc. Finally, its my goddamned phone. I can do with it whatever I please. You don't find me snooping through your phone, why would you want to snoop through mine? But women can't help themselves and invariably their fingers start touching your phone despite themselves. All these and more are reasons why guys lock their phones. The only girls av seen that lock their phones are those who keep porn and those who are trying to get back at thier guys for locking thiers. Avoid high bp and unnecessary quarrels, boys. Lock your phones. |

berem:No mind am. Small pikin who dey find who go join am fight im papa ![]() @onyeEgo1 Am an undergrad, am an undergrad...and so? You now feel nobody can talk to you abi? Smh. Someone said your dad is analog and u r digital and you agreed. Mumu. Anyways. If you like this your new age church so much and you are an undergrad, which I guess means you are staying in hostel, what stops you from going to catholic on Sundays and your new age fellowship on Wednesdays and Fridays? That's what I did...until I realised all these fellowships are wash and quietly went back to my Catholic church but that's another story. Guy, nobody can make you the devil's errand boy except you. If you like join deeper life if you want to become bad deeper life won't stop you. Being Christlike is a voluntary choice and not an impulse. Try and sift my harsh words away if you can. Na the digital and anaolog thingie na hin piss me off. |

100Cents:So the others aren't reliable? I heard you can't get ford parts anywhere. |
drhappy: With your budget, the RX is definitely off your radar sir except if you are settling for a naija used. You can get the xterra of the very early 2000 though. Not conversant with the cost of the Ford. Thanks sir. I'm being offered the rx300 red light for 1.4m if which I can raise the money but I'm wondering if it is worth it. Ford SUV/jeep are cheaper, offering 850k and meeeen I love the bodywork but I heard it has no mechanic. Forgive me pls am a novice in this area and I just want to know which would be the best option. |
nurey: Lexus Rx300 is the most luxurious of the choiceThanks so much. I heard our mechanics don't know much about the ford explorer. |
