Family › Re: Woman's Face Gets 26 Stitches After Husband Batters Her Over Piece Of Fish by 5minsmadness: 6:13pm On Jul 27, 2014
She wasn't beaten because of the fish.
She has been irritating her husband since.
Ever since the third wife came into the home she has not allowed anybody rest.
Its one thing today, another tomorrow.
Okay, on the said day, the third wife made soup specially for her husband. Normally third wife would prepare the food and keep the biggest piece of fish reserved for husband for the next day. Only for this woman to pick that fish, knowing fully well it would anger husband. In fact she dared him that he wasn't man enough to have that piece of fish. Before long they had devolved into fisticuffs with the third wife(a fellow woman) throwing in a punch or two.

And that's how it really happened angry

CAVEAT.
There is no justifiable reason whatsoever to strike at a woman. They are the weaker sex and should be treated with respect. If you cannot handle your anger walk away.
Family › Re: Polygamous Marriage: Beneficial To Who ? by 5minsmadness: 5:38pm On Jul 27, 2014

arvinsloane: Arvin Sloane (born 31 October 1950) was the head of SD-6 , a branch
of the Alliance of Twelve, working against the United States
government under the pretence that SD-6 was a black ops division of
the CIA. After the collapse of SD-6 he moved on to pursuing
knowledge of the 15th century prophet Milo Rambaldi before turning
himself over to the U.S. government and becoming the head of the
charitable organization Omnifam. As time went on the government
entrusted Sloane with more comprehensive tasks and allowed him to
set up a real black ops division, Authorized Personnel Only . After his
true desire to pursue Rambaldi was revealed, he left APO and began
work with Prophet Five .
For over thirty years Sloane was encapsulated by a desire to discover
the secrets of the prophet Milo Rambaldi. Whilst working with SD-6
he sent agents out on many missions to retrieve or learn more about
Rambaldi, with the sole aim of personal fulfilment. After leaving SD-6
he pursued Rambaldi himself, and continued on a quest to discover
Rambaldi's true endgame; immortality. When Sloane finally
discovered it with the assistance of Irina Derevko and The Horizon, he
became trapped in an underground cavern, pinned down by debris
from a bomb blast created by former work colleague Jack Bristow with
no hope of ever escaping, stuck for eternity.

deols: The doctors make demands. The government should reason and provide them for the benefit of all.

Doctors work 24/7 taking care of their patients but these patients seem to care less about what happens to those doctors.

In Liberia, the chief doctor in charge of treating people with the Ebola is said to be under treatment for the same ebola virus.

How can a Nigerian doctor, who was never appreciated all the while, go ahead and be involved when all of their demands for better healthcare infrastructure, for remuneration and for the protection of the dignity of their practice have been denied them. The same Nigerian populace, who suffer more from all these should be drumming the need to see to the needs of the doctors into the government's ears but they are too driven by sentiments and their judgemental attitude to see what is really going on.

People are dying in case none is close to you due to these strikes and the doctors have nothing to lose since the private hospitals are owned by them. Nigerians should be asking the government to do what is right!

Nurses, pharmacists etc are not consultants. They are doing almost nothing at the hospitals right now.

The dignity of the great profession must be protected.and Doctors have every right/conscience to do that.

The government has to see reason and the populace need to be reasonable as well.

God bless Nigeria.

Onegai: Fear.

Nigerians don't like risking their lives for anything. Have you seen LUTH, GH Island or any GH? Do we even have protective suits for hazardous illnesses? Health workers are more likely to catch it than regular people. So the strike will linger and doctors will refuse to go back.

My brother has already given out tips: I've got hand sanitizer and I may end up getting plastic gloves and a face-mask. No-one is sure if it can turn airborne at close contact (100m), which is what to expect if you use the Lagos public transport. And danfo conductors, wetin concern am with hand sanitizer, even the girl who sold me mine at the phramacy was telling me "only Jesus saves" and not using hand sanitizer till I eyed her, she laughed and used a bit. And Nigerians are forever coughing/sneezing into their hands or turning away to their side to do so/spit, then wiping on their clothes and handing you money.
Our hospitals aren't equipped to deal with this and should they find 5 more victims, most will shut down in panic (those head matrons at GH will be the first to abscond).

They thought they had found the cure for the Ebola virus. Or a vaccine at least. Ebola had ravaged most of the populace and they needed some sort of interventionfast.
Dr SSelvig and his team had worked in the labs day and night for 3weeks and had finally come up with what was thought to be the miracle vaccine against the pandemic. Bypassing all standard protocol and wanting to shame his detractors, Dr selvig had injected himself with the experimental vaccine and then bravely exposed himself to the Ebola virus.

And it had worked.

He was awarded the Pulitzer prize. His team was well rewarded with funds and grants. Dr selvig's name was mentioned in every household across the globe. He became an overnight sensation and the vaccine was made into an aerosol and sprayed ball over Europe in a bid to quell the plague of Ebola as quickly as possible.

Three weeks later Dr selvig developed the first symptoms. They were vague enough; fever, nausea, headaches, symptoms that any other viral infection would produce. Then he started behaving irrationally and developed an insatiable craving for raw meat.

Dr selvig was admitted at the memorial general hospital where he was placed in restraints due to his now violent behaviour. On the third day of his admission he violently bit the nurse that was attempting to him and three of the hospital security men that came to hold him down. He was heavily sedated and monitored until he passed away 21days later.

In a few days the nurse was found in her house, having fed on her two dogs and the remains of her fiancee. By the time the CDC was alerted the others who had been bitten had run amok in the city. The military was immediately summoned and they placed a strict curfew around the entire city. It took two weeks before someone in Washington realised that the original vaccine had been spread to the populace as an aerosol.
By then it was too late. The vaccine affected certain people and left others completely untouched. Those unaffected people were soon bitten by those who had been turned by the virus. Law and order broke down.

The zombie Apocalypse had begun.

Decided to eat a hearty meal this morning. Sliced brown bread to go with baked beans, sausages and omelette.
The omelette is a mixture of sliced sausages, green and red peppers, spring onions with half a cube of maggi and a pinch of salt held together by two well beaten eggs.

Drawback: Oil used wasn't new hence the brownish nature of the omelette.

Pointers: Though the arrangement appears complex it was all put together in minutes and served with hot chocolate. Tasted delicious!

Bon apetit!

Family › Re: Is It A Womans Duty To Greet A Man "Good Morning" by 5minsmadness:
fairheven: Seriously? What is the meaning of good morning first of?in simple term u r affirming or wishing som1 "a good morning"so wt is the big deal on whu greets first, even an adult can say goodmornin first to a child,an it does not cost a tin.,again first ask ursef the Meaning literally.I greet my younger brother first wen I cal him on fon,its just a wish(like merrychristmas)an it can come from anyone;its haggling over issues like this that gives many people high blood pressure!
You really want to know? Ok.
Its not about ego, its about respect.
Am sure your parents don't greet you first thing in the morning, they would have taught you that greeting your elder is the curteous thing to do. Apart from indicating that you wish the person well it shows politeness, that you were well brought up. We are not in the western setting when you see your father and greet him by his first name e.g "Hi Steve". Its an insult in our setting. Even the westerners are beginning to realise that there is a missing link in setting a foundation for their kids to show respect to the elders among them.

Forget all these single ladies and those married females who come online to type long epistles because they feel oppressed in their matrimonial homes due to no fault of ours and find Nairaland as a place to vent their frustrations. Many of the married ones will never admit it but they will even kneel down to greet their husbands in their homes then come here and start spreading like peacock. The single ones shouting are still single for a reason. They are either small girls or they are old babes who have no respect and no man worth his salt will go near any of them for a serious relationship-hence their singleness.

The boys supporting these women are mainly little kids looking for likes and an opportunity to PM these single ladies later so they can "hook-up".

A responsible and respectable man approaches a woman for a relationship and when he sees she is wife material he will go ahead and propose, approach the woman's family, do introduction, pay bride price, follow all the regular procedures and then give the woman the white wedding of her dreams. The woman does not marry him under duress i.e by force, she marries him of her own free will. She marries him because she has fallen in love with him and knows that he will be able to take care of her needs for the rest of his life.. This is a huge responsibility. That is enough to accord him that respect. He has earned it. It is a little thing to show that respect by greeting him first thing in the morning. It is just common courtesy and shows that the woman is a good woman, a woman who is proud of her husband.

Those single girls typing a thousand words and trying to encourage themselves in their false beliefs will continue to remain single if they practice this antagonistic behaviour outside the internet. Don't get carried away by their friendly exchanges and seemingly smart wit. They are lonely and looking for who to add to their club.

myads890: We are in an African setting.
So by inference you just agreed that its normal for the woman to greet first.

A marriage is not a place to start flaunting ego.
I never said it was. Its just normal for the woman to accord her husband that respect of greeting him first. It has nothing to do with ego.
Also it takes us back to the original question which you so skillfully avoided: how do you earn respect?

Don't worry, you'll understand better when you grow up and start dating
From the highly immature picture in your profile it is obvious you are just a boy who hasn't even started growing pubic hair. Don't worry when you grow older you'll leave all this childish fantasies of relationship and start to behave like a man worthy of respect instead of looking for cheap ways to gain female attention online. Infant.
Family › Re: Is It A Womans Duty To Greet A Man "Good Morning" by 5minsmadness: 5:10pm On Jul 24, 2014
myads890: Whoever is more mature. Usually in an African setting a woman should while in a western setting the man shows respect first. But we're talking about a marriage here and if think about it, irrespective of culture men tend to show respect to the women during the "wooing" period. So, I'd say men show respect first in most cases even if we choose to think otherwise.
Of course we are talking about marriage, what did you think we were talking about?

So now from what you just said, are we in an African setting or a western setting?

myads890: Its a marriage not a competition. Respect should be mutual. If you want respect, give it. Simple.
So who gives the respect first? Someone has to give it first right? Who starts?

A respectful wife will greet her husband first. It won't even be a matter for argument.
A man who actively greets his wife first thing in the morning is a pvssy.
