Investnow2017: No guy, the issue here is not about Trump blaming it is about WHO. If WHO as an apolitical neutral body has to rely on information fed it by individual nations, of what use is WHO?
WHO can do more than rely on information fed it. It can navigate beyond that and carry out its own independent assessment of the situation to get a proper grasp of the situation. Did that happen? Your guess is as good as mine. Here lies the main crux of the matter. . Because WHO is made up of member states... You think when measles broke out in the US last year, that WHO could have barged in and taken over its documentation from the CDC? Meanwhile, the EXECUTIVE (not advisory) Board of WHO is headed by a Japanese professor... And it also has a US member on it, why are we not seeing a petition for their own removal or resignation? Investnow2017: I think I agree with you. Remember China was a major key member of the Security Council that voted for his victory as the WHO president. So his loyalty may have been swayed.
It is not so much that he did not declare the virus as a pandemic on time, WHO's initial involvement was skeletal and China got him to treat the whole issue more as an in-house affair. Not so good for a global body. That is the anger if Trump.
And now here we are counting human losses every day. If everyone has under estimated the lethality and extensiveness of this virus, WHO as a watchdog should have operated at a much higher tempo, not taking chances, but that did not quite happen. . With all due respect, nonsense... The WHO DG is elected by ALL member states (sitting as the World Health Assembly). > |

Tsunami is also a town Indonesia. Bros, there’s NO town in Indonesia called Tsunami... In fact, the word Tsunami is a JAPANESE term, with it’s earliest recorded use when a wave hit Sanriku on the Japanese coast... However, the first tsunami-type waves were recorded in Greece in 426 BC, and was likely the cause of Alexandria’s destruction in 365 AD. AMINDA: Lalasticlala, why are you using your power as a mod to push propaganda? On what basis is this news on the frontpage? There are 1000 petitions against virtually every individual or organization on that website, all by vested interests. Covid 19 was a new disease in January and scientists knew next to nothing about it as at then. Every single findings in science has to be proven first before it is certified. Every science student knows this, 2 + 2 may be 4, but in Mathematics it still has to be proven. There is ALWAYS a lag time between when a virus makes the jump from animals to humans and when it has spread to enough people for it to be obvious that there's a problem. We've all watched in real time as countries around the world have seen shit start to hit the fan around 4-6 weeks after their first case. Independent genetic analysis of this virus has put it's origin as sometime in November (maybe late October'2), which means that late December is exactly the time that you would expect China to first notice that they weren't just having an ordinary flu season (and remember...they didn't have the benefit of knowing that there was a new virus they had to be on the lookout for).
"But why didn't they tell us there was human to human transmission?" Dumbo, there's an incubation period! A kinda long one! And most of the people who catch the virus have mild symptoms that wouldn't have been distinguishable from any other cold or the flu (and they couldn't have even been tested in the early weeks because THE TEST DIDN'T EXIST UNTIL AFTER THE VIRUS WAS IDENTIFIED AND SEQUENCED!. Of course it took a few weeks to confirm that there was human to human transmission! Science just doesn't move as fast as you want it to!

Even when it's proven that the virus can be spread by people who don't have symptoms, the guy was still advising checking temperatures and symptoms. He encouraged free movement. He wasn't leading; he was following popular opinion — he's just a politicians! WHO is NOT one-person... It said that it had NO evidence when it had no evidence... And as soon as it had evidence of asymptomatic transmission, it published it. That’s how SCIENCE (not crude politics) works! > |

If you have a brain and can not understand those infrastructure will aid business which will in turn boast empowerment of the citizen bro I can't help u. I will ignore the personal insults.... It merely betray a lack of substance and a crude personal upbringing. SMH There are two principal kinds of infrastructure... Hard or physical infrastructure, and soft or social infrastructure. Sadly Nigerians are often like little kids distracted with toys... Accordingly, Nigerian politicians deceive a largely gullible (and frankly illiterate) population with “flyovers”! These flyovers are built by foreigners and are thereafter ill-maintained (if at all) by untrained, poorly-trained and poorly-skilled locals... EVERY developed and advanced nation has done so by FIRST investing in SOFT infrastructure (even S. Korea who were behind us in the 1960s). You CANNOT develop any country with an illiterate or poorly-educated, poorly-trained and unhealthy population... Thus, while there’s a place for physical infrastructure, PRIORITY should first go to social infrastructure (as Mr. Obi apparently recognized). > |

Sir, your head is not correct with this your foolish n long writeup. Sadly, this epitomizes much of Nigeria (and Nigerian mentality) these days.... Let’s NOT invest in the future but spend (or share or steal) all the money today. Human capital is any country’s most value resource....
