I think I agree with you. Remember China was a major key member of the Security Council that voted for his victory as the WHO president. So his loyalty may have been swayed.

It is not so much that he did not declare the virus as a pandemic on time, WHO's initial involvement was skeletal and China got him to treat the whole issue more as an in-house affair. Not so good for a global body. That is the anger if Trump.

And now here we are counting human losses every day. If everyone has under estimated the lethality and extensiveness of this virus, WHO as a watchdog should have operated at a much higher tempo, not taking chances, but that did not quite happen.

Covid 19 was a new disease in January and scientists knew next to nothing about it as at then. Every single findings in science has to be proven first before it is certified. Every science student knows this, 2 + 2 may be 4, but in Mathematics it still has to be proven.

His death has not been made public by his family and the man is yet to be buried. Hard or physical infrastructure, and soft or social infrastructure.

Sadly Nigerians are often like little kids distracted with toys...

These flyovers are built by foreigners and are thereafter ill-maintained (if at all) by untrained, poorly-trained and poorly-skilled locals...
EVERY developed and advanced nation has done so by FIRST investing in SOFT infrastructure (even S. Korea who were behind us in the 1960s).

You CANNOT develop any country with an illiterate or poorly-educated, poorly-trained and unhealthy population...
Thus, while there’s a place for physical infrastructure, PRIORITY should first go to social infrastructure (as Mr. Obi apparently recognized).
