The charge was read to the accused persons by the Court and they pleaded guilty. The Court found them guilty as charged and sentenced as follows: The defendants are to pay a fine of 100,000 each, sentenced to 14 days community service, three hours per day, excluding Saturday and Sunday; each Defender shall visit 10 important public places within Lagos State to educate the public on the consequences of non compliance with the restriction order; and they must submit the names and phone numbers of every person who attended the party.

They shall be placed on isolation by the State Government to determine their COVID-19 status. Failure to abide by the above directives shall attract more severe punishments.

Presumably, they will first complete their isolation and/or Covid test before being let loose to go “educate the public”...

I’m seeing all the speculation and questioning of these NCDC guidelines and Buhari's lockdown and the one thing I do know, is that I don’t know!!
The sacrifice or inconvenience I am asked to make for a few weeks is to stay in and take precautions should I have to go out, think I can manage that, as the alternative may not be all that great!!
True this might be blown out of proportion and these professionals don’t know their head from a hole in the ground, but I am going to err on the side of caution and take their advice.

This is an unknown and unpredictable illness so we are all learning as it continues.

First, the virus has NOT "disappeared" anywhere...
Even China is reporting as much as 39 new cases TODAY!

But of course you could (and will ultimately) achieve zero infection....
Those measures break the chain, flatten the curve and ultimately drive down the numbers.

Furthermore, there were NO deaths of "hundreds of thousands" of people...
There's thus far been a little under 70K, and not up to a 100K, talk less of hundreds of thousands.

Because there is NO cure (or vaccine) thus far....
Best strategy (as pursued by South Korea, etc.) is to get in front of the pandemic and keep the number of infections down.

Doing business with China is NOT charity.
