. COVID-19 does not know who is a poor or rich Nigerian... Poor Nigerians will get just as sick (and perhaps die) if they ignore the lockdown.
Oga George, instead of babbling on while safely isolating yourself and family in your comfortable home... Do something for poor Nigerians in your constituency - after all, you have leached off the Nigerian state all your adult life! > |

evansjeff: Thank God for Pastor Adeboye and others, it would have been worse. The media and Nairaland will never show you this, These donations were made more than two weeks ago so it wasn’t even as a result of the criticisms. Even when I created a topic on it. The mods deleted it but any avenue to rain insults on them, straight to front page. Not everyone likes to make noise over what they do like our politicians.
I used to be part of people criticizing them, but from what I’ve realized, it seems there is a deliberate attempt here on Nairaland to demonize these pastors so I quit. I’m not saying they’re perfect, but when they do good, it should also be made known. Yes, it’s good to see these pastors put other people’s money (tithes) to good community use, instead of buying private jets. Well done Pastor... > |

PerfectlyPerfect: Ventilators are standard equipment in any hospital. The government has been claiming to spend billions of naira and we have only 169 ventilators in a country of 200 million people. You need your head examined Commonsense99: Even the 169 ventilators, do we really have electricity to power them?
We need to Sit up if this Nigeria will ever work out. segzysexy: Just 169 Ventilators! That's so bad. Instead of our government to equip all the medical institutions in this country they were busy looting the funds for their personal use. Now they are currently the most affected by the epidemic. I just pray they will know the right thing to do after the disappearance of this outbreak. omoadeleye: Uhm, 169 ventilators - 159 infected people we have 10 ventilators left ba? Abegi, some of you need to read beyond just headlines... It’s 169 in 16 states, but about 500 throughout... Sorely inadequate, but apparently NONE of the 159 cases thus far has required a ventilator. We are now bidding against virtually EVERY nation for ventilators... Accordingly, our best bet is to lockdown, isolate, distance, observe basic hygiene and try to quickly break the chain of infection. The overwhelming majority of positive cases (80% worldwide) will have mild or no symptoms.... So if we manage to successfully flatten the infection curve quickly, it will not overwhelm our fragile healthcare system. > |

okpalaAnambra: Our cursed Anambra state doesn't even know what a ventilator is let alone of having one, Anambra is mismanaged by that Igala man Don’t know much about the state... But I see ventilators in the ICU ward there. The Isolation ward does not require ventilators.... The cases there will only have mild or no symptoms but still need to be isolate so as not spread the infection. > |

Nbote: But instead of d govt to focusing on getting more and improving generap hospitals atleast to b prepared, dey are busy giving audio money to their almajiris. UK already had over 8500 and ordered more 5000, Trump orderd 5000 more b sent to only New York alone. Countries have asked companies to convert into productions facemasks sanitizers and all dat.. What is our govt doing? Oh dey are giving tradermoni, poorestmoni and fuel reduction moni.... D only hope d masses have ryt now is dat dis shit doesn't hit d roof and spread, otherwise we are doomed EVERY nation on earth wants ventilators... It’s like eBay out there, except you are bidding against richer nations. Meanwhile, none of our 139 cases so far has required a ventilator. Not necessarily surprising as the overwhelming majority of cases will have no or only mild symptoms, so our best bet is to keep the rate of infection down by aggressive contact tracing, social isolation and distancing. > |

Ijeleigbo: Not just suspension, there should also be free electricity supply. Nigerians this period should not be required to pay for power.... Who will pay for your "free" electricity? Electricity is a capital good that is presently being generated and distributed by PRIVATE companies, costing them a lot of money... The companies should be prevailed upon not to disconnect anyone during the lockdown (and a few months thereafter), but they need to be paid! > |

Who told you there's no provision for sentencing women for rape.? Rape has NO gender specification. If proven, the perpetrator gets sentenced... Some Nigerians here have their own properties maybe small but it's theirs.
So the false pretence of living better than Nigerians is flawed .
Anyway think why would I lie, I'm doing this for you to know the truth because I'm not the boastful type and I love my peeps It’s actually the bank’s property... Coming to Nigeria was the best thing that ever happened to me (even if I did not realize it then). It’s not cut-and-dried, but one thing I know for certain is that among our extended family born in the US, everyone who lived or schooled in Nigeria has been MORE successful academically and professionally after returning to the US (and even those of us who choose to remain here). > |

Adakintroy2: The way we work out the sex/ adultry argument is pretty high tech even among primitive biblical or traditional men. With sex men seem to possess higher drive compared to women that's not to say women dont have drive but comparatively men have higher. So left for men sex would always be on the cards. In other discensitize that,. Women were giving the right power over sex. More like having the key to the city.
So now if a woman allows a man in she is fully responsible from there on. Sounds conveniently-sexist... There’s NO reason a dude who promised God that he will be faithful should be looking for a “key”. It’s not by force to get married. > |
