kunle4toyeyaho:Convinced most Nigerians suffer from a collective firm of the Stockholm Syndrome... ![]() A taxpaying (hopefully) citizen is actually defending a ruler (can’t call these jokers leaders) for taking a N25b (or N52b) LOAN to build a house and office where he will live, work and entertain (as many Govs treat Govt House as a free all-you-can-eat restaurant). If you have to take a LOAN, it means that you don’t have the money and therefore should cut your coat according to size! And when you do take a LOAN, use it for something that will generate a return to service/repay the loan. Jeez!! Meanwhile, doubtful all the primary schools in Ekiti cost up to N25b. > |
Nigerians love their VANITY projects... Abegi, govt should concentrate on building schools and hospitals, and social housing, not freaking “civic centers”. ![]() Anyway, Nigerians DESERVE the leaders they get... Because fanciful events venues should be left to the private sector. Instead, it will be mostly unused and poorly-maintained. SMH > |
gypsey:This is past getting sacked... People should be criminally prosecuted. > |
jimharry21:Why wait for “celebrities”? Nigeria is the product of all of our actions and inactions. > |
Evangkatsoulis:Cheap/free labor! > |
ALCOHOLKILLS:’ I get the sentiment but don’t share it... Why punish innocent kids when you can punish her?! > |
biacan:Nonsense! DG of CIIN is NOT that big of a deal... She might have simply suffered a cardiac arrest or aneurysm... Seeing as many Nigerians never visit a doctor until at death's door. May her soul RIP! > |
nymphomaniac:Abegi do not insult my BEAUTIFUL Naija sisters... ![]() > |
This is what our grandparents use to call "Midi"... ![]() > |
I'm AGAINST Police beating anyone PERIOD! But... Why is she interfering with police work? Going by the pictures, this was not some dude randomly picked up on the streets but someone the cops have obviously been looking for. > |
![]() I don't know what going on in those OP pictures (maybe police HQ is ahead)... But 'discipline' and 'India traffic' do NOT belong in the same sentence, and below are more representative pictures. https://www.motorbeam.com/wp-content/uploads/Traffic-In-China.jpg https://i.ytimg.com/vi/mDLCd70iTeE/hqdefault.jpg |
SocialFinance:Look at somebody actually praising this WASTE of public funds... Yet another prime example of the COMPLICITY of Nigerians in their own misrule. SMDH ![]() > |
![]() El-Rufai is obviously angling for the Presidency in 2023... > |
ZOO! ![]() |

DISGUSTING SUBSERVIENT GROVELING... ![]() The OP can dig up a thousand pictures showing white people courtesying to their royals (not sure why he/she felt the need to go all the way to Britain, when we Nigerians/Africans regularly courtesy to our own royals/ traditional rulers - other than colo-mentality). But I bet that he cannot post just ONE single picture of an elected Senator/Legislator in an advanced democracy kneeling for an elected President. NOT ONE!! > |
Officialgarri: Obere4u:Actually, the “mental slavery” is digging up a picture of a white woman to justify Omo-Agege’s groveling behavior... ![]() > |
TarOrfeek:Like victims of armed robbery or kidnapping should have “stayed at home”? SMH ![]() . |
elgramz:Most likely money has changed hands... However, she CANNOT “withdraw” a criminal case, although she may decide not to cooperate with the prosecution. ![]() > |
babzo:Dude, EVERY (all virtually every, bit definitely all Nigerian/African) culture respect the dead... Thus, if you see something disrespectful of the dead ANYWHERE (including the US or Nigeria), it is not the norm. The only difference is that some societies have more resources (not necessarily more respect) and capacity to more quickly redress problems and/deviations. Nonetheless, if you watched John Oliver’s “Last Week Tonight” show on HBO about 2 weeks again, which focused on coroners, you would have discovered the rather unacceptable frequent recurrence of corpse desecration, mishandling and even abuse in the US. And these are not just the cases of people desecrating head stones, or young people shitting, peeing, smoking weed, having sex, etc. in cemeteries. > |
flowmama:Mass shootings in the US averages MORE THAN ONCE DAILY! Again, not seeking to compare tragedies or criminality (because they are ALL bad) nor apples with oranges, but in 2017 there were 577 mass shootings in the US (mass shootings defined as involving 4 or more victims), and nearly 40,000 deaths from gun violence in 2018 (which by definition does not include non-fatal victims of gun violence). In contrast, do not hear of people being pushed off a bus everyday in Nigeria. It personally pains me to relieve the horrific statistics, but who exactly told you casualties of US mass shootings in schools are “less than 4 casualties”? Sandy Hook Elementary School were 27 deaths, mostly infants. Parkland, Florida (Stoneman Douglas High) were 17, while Columbine High School were 13, and Virginia Tech were 32, among so many others so numerous to count. The foregoing are just school shootings, where parents sent their innocent kids to school and they returned in body bags. At least Boko Haram is terrorism and a low grade war (an insurgency), which is not any more “normal” as the attack on the World Trade Centers was. Again, the unfortunate reality is that crime and criminality is a universal phenomena. Acting like it’s peculiar to Nigeria is just obtuse. May the souls of all the dearly departed innocents rest in eternal peace! > |
NOC1:It used to be a part of Morocco called Western Sahara... It was the then OAU’s recognition of their independence that led Morocco to quit the AU for many years. > |
babzo:You mean like the almost 350 rotting and decomposed unburied bodies discovered at the Tri-State Crematory in Georgia a few years back? The reality is that most poor folk in a place like the US and cremated and/or crammed into mass graves (in my original hometown of NYC, it’s out on the isolated island known as Potters’ Field). And of course a fair number of people donate their remains for medical research. I think Africans often make too much of an emotional investment in so-called “ancestral land” (often forgetting that most humans only settled where they ended up after migrating from somewhere else), but that is frankly no different than the original owners of North America (the Native Americans) and several others do. Nonetheless, the emotional pull to return is family, extended family and community - not a piece of earth. Accordingly, as more people emigrate and congregate elsewhere, that pull will weaken but unlikely to ever completely go away. > |
flowmama:Without seeking to compare apples with oranges... Would her death be any worse than sending kids to school only for them to shot up in the US? Sadly, crime is universal. ![]() > |
> May her soul RIP... I doubt that she got the vital pre-natal care she probably needed... If the family is soliciting aid on SM, doubtful they could’ve afforded it or fully support the kids. So, why more kids? > |
femi4:If Peter is a smuggler, he deserved to be robbed... ![]() > |
Psoul:That’s where our “level of understanding” differs... Going out clubbing does NOT warrant battery - and then bragging about it on social media! What a BUM! ![]() > |
celeiyke:His wife doesn’t sit with “strange” men in public... > |
Psoul:Dude, the “level of understanding” that EVERYONE should have is... No so-called “responsible parent” (or responsible human being) BATTERS his wife! SMH > |
