Unfortunately the Igbos have built a very negative stereotype and opinion about themselves before the generality of Nigerians.

In the last election , I rightly predicted that Tinubu's etouts and his campaign proper was to use Peter Obi's nationality against Atiku and pitch the last presidential polls as a battle between Osinbanjo and Obi ignoring the fact that both substantive candidates (Buhari and Atiku) are Northern Muslims of the same Fulani stock.


Surprisingly this strategy worked on the Buhari weary SW populace who ditched all their sufferings under Chanji to see to it that their ceremonial VP, Osinbanjo was returned instead of the Omo Igbo , Peter Obi.

Already , Tinubu's bots are now goading the Igbos here on NL to see to it that they mount pressure on both the PDP and Atiku to have the VP slot zoned to them after losing woefully at the APC convention were they hoped on an Igbo VP to a Lawan ticket.

Already this ploy is working to some extent here on NL.

So when Atiku announces a SS running mate, the Igbos will now waste their votes on Peter Obi while Tinubu is sure to see a massive vote from the SW.

This ploy is another highly sophisticated move to goad the Igbos to disenfranchise themselves as an Obi vote to me is pure waste as he is going nowhere with just the SE votes.

The goal , if I must remind you, is to kick the APC out for good. Allowing Tinubu in will see to an end to any form of political opposition and will cement the Northern Muslim and SW alliance at the expense of every other peoples.

Don't be foolish .

Don't waste your vote on Obi. His time or that of any Igbo is not now until the Igbos rehabilitate their battered reputation and image before the electorate.

Why not continue wallowing in your solo delusion of grandeur than worrying about what people do with their votes.

I hope that if and when Nigerians have the misfortune of electing any of the crime-dyed septuagenarian, they will live long enough to tell the tales of their primordial stupidity.

One advantage Northern Nigeria has always had over Southern Nigeria is that they are far more politically united. May be its their feudal system of doing things, may be its because they used to be one Region, while the South was three Regions

As things stand now, the North have no intention of ceding power to the South, and are likely to go for their "brother"

With the official death of zoning, the 2023 election will be one of the most significant in Southern Nigerian political history.

Boro's atrocities raised eye brows even among fellow pro-Nigerian forces. That was why he was setup and eventually eliminated.
Truth is if today's Rivers people rule Rivers State with Adaka Boro and Diette Spiff's template, they would never allow an ijaw man near Brick house in Portharcourt. But let is hide some parts of history and pretend all is well.

This is interesting to read! I have always believed people that claimed names were changed or altered in most parts of Rivers State didn't know what they were saying. I guess this settles it.

Igbos could refer to anyone with the Ndi prefix, meaning people of...but you see anyone/community with the Umu prefix is as igbo as igbos can be.
You also mentioned ijaw appellations with ORU prefix after saying Oru in ijaw means fallen demon. Well, aside from Oru being a term for riverine igbos, Oru also has several other connotations in igbo language and several people have the Oru prefix e.g Orumba, Afor Oru etc

I also noticed your mischief in saying they are referred to as Oru-igbo rather than just igbo . For Oru people, as far as I am consigned language is one of the most formidable mark of a person's identity, because it takes years for a language to change/become lost. Historical accounts from way back 1750 has continued to show that ijaws are domiciled in parts of today's Bayelsa. Several accounts of the eastern coast of the delta by European authors had no mention of ijaws.

So it is a mischief of laughable proportion for someone who doesn't know Okrika history to be claiming Ibaka is Ijaw when Okrika itself is of mixed heritage.
