Hi guys, interview comes up shortly.

Just realised I made a terrible mistake.

I used a red background passport on my DS160 form.

Should I just forget about the visa for now?

Pls what can I do next?
You are required to come to your interview with a passport photograph that has particular specifications. Just do that and u will be informed there if there's anything wrong with your ds160. You cant because of that waste ur visa fee now.

Please house, I have a request concerning my withheld gre scores from anyone in the US with a PayPal account. I would like to transfer $235 to the person's PayPal account directly from my freelancing earnings so the fellow could help effect the gre payments with gre. My earnings are legit from a legit site; I could shed more light on it to anyone who's willing to help if they need that assurance of safety. If I convert that money to naira and try to use PayPal linked to Nigerian bank or Gieva, the almost 350naira exchange rate will finish me, cos the money will be converted to naira at the official rate. Please note, Nigerian PayPal does not receive payments, I would have done it myself.
PM me... lemme see how I can help.

It is mostly obtainable here in Rhode Island...dunno what it is called in your area. Their exchange rate is N312 per dollar if you want to send to Nigeria. Try some African market, they can direct you.

Aadeyi! Thanks for your response. Do you know what it's called in Texas or if the have an office in Texas or its environs? I'm currently in West Texas Midland-Odessa. Permian Basin. African market exchange is low (305). Please, can I send you a PM? I'll like to ask a few more questions. I'm earnestly waiting for your response. Thank you.
Your PM will be highly welcomed.

Hi guys. How is everyone doing? we are in trouble with this dollar thing. Who has dollars and willing to trade for naira at a fair rate? My bank seems to be hoarding the dollar and I really cant count on them. Help a brother. feels like we are about to suffer the great depression.
Do u think there is anyone who will want to trade at fair rate when they know whats in the black market.

Hey guys, please could you kindly analyze this mail. I just got it from one of the schools I applied to. Will be grateful. Does it mean I could be reconsidered if I retake the required test(s)? The test(s) was/were not indicated. Please I need your critical analysis.

Dear xxxxxxx,

Thank you for your interest in Michigan Technological University. After careful review of your application by the graduate committee for the Biological Sciences program, we regret to inform you that we are unable to accept you as a student for the following reason:

You received a low score on one or more required admission tests. Your application for admission can be reconsidered if you retake your admission test(s) and receive a higher score.
The mail is self explanatory..... retake the tests and ace Good Score (s)

Hello house, I am currently a Masters students [English] in Nigeria, soon to graduate. I intend to apply for PhD studies in the US but I have some questions:

1. Are there schools with affordable tuition or any that is tuition free?
2. What are the likely schools I can apply for?
3. What is the typical cost of accomodation like [in naira]?
4. Can I work as a teaching assistant or lecturer while undertaking my PhD research?
5. Is it easy to get a visa for PhD studies?
6. How much is flight fee [cheapest range]?
7. Are there academic opportunities for PhD holders ?
8. What are the salient factors I must take into consideration?
9. How much do I need to survive on a monthly basis as a PhD student?
10. Do I need ielts or toefl or gre and those other exams since I read English?

Please do well to tell me anything I haven't asked already. I know the questions are many. You don't have to answer all, just tell me the one you have an authoritative idea on. I really appreciate!

Thanks!
Best Advise I can offer you is to take your time and study this whole part from page 1 to d end. U will find answers to all your questions. They have been treated so many times.

Also remember Google is your best friend.

Thankyou for d advice aadeyi I so much appreciate but won't I complicate tins now if I shud call my uncle over there and ask him to look for a university there for me, won't it affect my application and will I need to pay a new SEVIS fee?
What you need your uncle for now is to help you get your money back from the school. Mail the school and tell then your visa application was denied the u will want them to refund you. Get your uncle account details as required by the school and send it to them for refund.

Getting a university is your responsibility and not your uncle's. Google is your best friend, search for schools, apply to 3 or more schools. Prepare very well for your admission and visa. Take all necessary qualify tests to better your chances.

Most importantly, pray to God and ask for guidance and always come down here to seek more advise should in case you need more. Good luck in your new journey.

But can they still ask me the questions on my previous interview, cos I don't knw if they do record down the questions and my replies... And can I say av been working or I joined my mother in her business since 2008 till date wud it complicate any issue.?
Please save yourself the stress and money..... collect your money back from the sch by asking them to pay to someone in the US who can send back to you at parallel market rate.

Look for a better degree as cc is a bad choice for you right now considering the fact that u finished high school 8 years ago.

Get a better degree and if u get to the US u can then switch back to a community college as there are folks here who did the same.

LagosNIV:
So the easiest way to keep your story straight and have the same answers as your last interview is... tell the truth.

If you start making up stories and confuse yourself, you are guaranteed to get the blue paper.

The VOs have gone through the process of selecting a college or university; telling us that you "have a passion for this school" doesn't make any sense. How do you have such a passion for some place you have never been?

This is a recurring theme. Students come in thinking that there is a "right answer" that they need to give so they recite a script. I can tell you that if a student continues to give nonsensical answers as to how they selected a particular school (student-to-teacher ratio, climate amenable to Nigerians, love the environment, etc.) then there is a good chance that they will get refused. The transcripts here serve as a testament to this fact.
Thanks for this reminder ........ this has been mentioned couple of times in other parts.

i retrieved, edited mind. They gave me new number but i have not booked appointment yet. U can edit as many times as possible.
I think there is something u are not getting right. The dude said after submitting and not after saving which is only when u can retrieve and edit.

But if you insist it's possible, then it must be a new rule cos the last time I filled one was 2014

Hi everyone, i was goping i could get answers to this: i just got a 2yrs US tourist visa and i would like to know what the maximum duration am allowed to stay at a stretch is, been hearing different views and am confused. please
No one can tell you exactly until when you get to the Point of Entry (POE), the immigration officer will ask you what you are here to do and will use his/her discretion to give and stamp you how long u can stay. But to the best of my knowledge, they usually give people 6months.
