Well, It is exactly 10 years this year and I must say the journey has not been that easy. I never sought for employment though. I had been running business: Recharge Card in Bulk before it went South after some robbery incident.

I got some few connections with Baba Obasanjo, so I worked at OOPL for 2 years from 2015-2017. But that life was not what I was designed for. I resigned and went back to the drawing board.

Presently I freelance and I think I have made in 3 years what I was only able to gather in 7 years.

My ADVISE:
Enterpreneurship is not for everyone and office is not for everyone. Understand your calling and follow it. But I think it is okay to gather experience working with a corporate firm for 5-10 years before launching your own business full time.

Note:
It is foolish working at a Job without having a side business for passive income

Baba Winkmart. I locate you. We both work at OOPL. Left same period. Today now 8years down the lain. Still counting my blessings. Working with OBJ did opens bigger job opportunities for me sha.

My carrer pursuit today is now what I study in school. therefore everyone should discover himself. Start humble. You should only be in compitetion with urself. This country will not do anything for you ooo. Just focus on what you can do for yourself. Even with you small hustle. Government will take from you through stamp duty, tax, increased tariffs, fuel price, TV subscription, data and mobile calls qnd various levies.
So, my people just think for what you can do for urself. There are thousands of opportunities out there. Get informed, research and keep learning. Dont be lazy, dont seek short cuts and heaven will help.

Let be honest with the way things is going in this country ehnn. It is not getting better ooo. Previous years always better than the present. Things dey hard by days.

Whoever forsee year 2020.. Who knows what year 2023 will bring. Naja youth brass up.

Have been caught up in a difficult situation. I have been dating this my lovely girlfriend for more than a year now. She is beautiful, humble, kind and a good girl. She is from a good family too. The parents are not too rich just average and doing very well. They are 2 girls and 3 boys and the elder sis is more of a slay queen i.e so beautiful and refuses to marry so the mother is hoping on this my girl to settle down, always encouraging her to settle down.

Now I am 29 years and I really love this girl and she loves me more than i actually love her, always ready to do my biding. She is just 22 and I wish to marry her someday but my finances are low. I have met the father and he said he doesn't need anything from me only things for the kinsmen or whatever but my parents are the opposite. Infact my dad won't even entertain my thought of getting married now because despite am staying alone, i still get small stipends from him monthly so he knows am not financially independent.

To cut the long story short.. My girl is pregnant again after several abortions in the past and she is refusing to take pills. She wants to keep this one and is urging me to come pay her bride price so we can move in together. This was not my dream way of getting married. I don't have a problem with her keeping the child but I just cannot marry now with my monthly salary of 40k which am struggling to feed and pay bills.

I actually purchased a new DStv decoder last month. It came with one month free Compact bouquet subscription. Towards the end of the subscription earlier this week, I received a call from a DStv marketer (01 280 6877). I was asked to upgrade to a Compact Plus bouquet for N10,650 in order to get double upgrade to the Premium bouquet. Since I wanted to resubscribe anyway (I actually wanted to maintain the Compact bouquet), I decided to do the upgrade and pay the extra in order to get the premium channels.

I paid the money and went ahead with the upgrade, believing that I was going to get the premium channels. After 48 hours, I was yet to get the upgrade and I sent an email. My email was not replied. I decided to call the customercare to make my complaint. The agent that spoke with me then told me that the promo is not for me as my account was only created in September. I queried her on why the company's marketer called me for a promo that I was ineligible for without mentioning it. When I got the message about the offer, it wasn't explicitly mentioned that it was for old customers ONLY.

My anger now is that I was essentially deceived by the company and their marketers to upgrade even when I did not want to. I do not actually need a Compact Plus (it's virtually the same with the Compact, apart from new sports content which I don't need). I only upgraded because I wanted to access the premium bouquet. I expressed my dismay to the customercare agent and told her that the company had tricked me. The extra money I spent is not the issue but the thwarted expectations that I had. I promised the agent to call out DStv for this blatant misuse of advertisement.

I have also tweeted @DStv, @DStvNg, and @DStvCare on this issue and have not gotten any response. I am bringing the issue here on Nairaland so that all Dstv customers or potential customers can know of the deceptive tactics DStv uses in its advertisement. Before you deal with DStv, make sure you ask them to tell you ALL the clauses because they won't tell you. All they need is your money so they don't care about consumer rights.


I will also forward my complaint to relevant regulatory agencies as well.

This people did the same to me. I have vow never succumb to their tactical scams. They will call you that you qualify for a promo that all you need is to re-sub before the end of ur present sub. When you now sub, you will beginning to hear plenty stories. They all scam. Like them broda empty hen.

I hope Nigerians see this. The opposition still wish him well. While some unfortunate individuals were busy yesterday wishing him death, forgetting that you are human and vulnerable too. It is people like you that will be involved in one small okada accident and nobody will come to you aid, and you be wondering why.
