Business › Re: ATM Fraud Victims Sue CBN, 24 Banks In Class Action by abhosts(m): 11:45am On Dec 14, 2009
To be sincere, these banks are liable to some extent. They just continue to dole out ATM cards with reckless abandon to customers who are mostly ignorant of the insidious nature of the internet. The ideal thing would have been to hand out terms of agreement to the customers highlighting all the risks associated with the technology and the modus operandi of ATM fraudsters thereafter stating that the bank will not be held liable if the customer chooses to be reckless with his or her PIN.

Adenuga Obviously does not know what he is doing. No Telecoms Operator in Nigeria has the Network capacity for Free unlimited calls. The whole thing has now backfired as it appears to have impaired normal call activities.
no offense but wetin concern bird with toothbrush grin

I just now noticed the lack of ads.  Out of curiosity, unless the forum would be shut down permanently (and I don't see that happening) why would it be a cause for concern?

I guess time will tell
Typical Nigerian response. I guess you think that Nairaland is hosted on a $5 per month unlimited hosting plan. angry Well the reality is that keeping a site like this online costs hundreds of dollars monthly; so how could you feel all is well when the only source of funding for the site appears to be embroiled with some issues?
Christianity Etc › Re: I Denounce Atheism, I Am Now A Born Again Christian. by abhosts(m): 10:30pm On Dec 03, 2009
If this is true in the case of Banom, it is not particularly a new phenomenon. It happens all the time. I know someone that just woke up from sleep and started weeping uncontrollably and asked Jesus into his life.
Webmasters › Nairaland Has Dumped Google Adsense? by abhosts(op): 9:27pm On Dec 03, 2009
The only revenue stream of this Forum appears to have been removed. Where did all the google adds go? Is the owner having a running battle with google or is he planning to diversify? This should be a cause of concern to anyone that uses this forum. huh

Any Answers?

Webmasters › Punch Newspaper Website Free Again? by abhosts(op): 10:31am On Nov 30, 2009
It appears as if the guys at punch have gotten back to their senses. I was surprised to find that they have repented of their childish ways. Who on earth in their right senses will pay to access a Newspaper's Website when the others offer theirs for free?

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: HiTV Wins Another Bid For EPL Right Till 2013 by abhosts(m): 8:39pm On Nov 24, 2009
To be sincere to DSTV, leaving the EPL Nigerian Rights to HITV was the right move. Why spend so much when they know that Nigerians will still subscribe to their service anyway? Many Homes in Nigeria now have both DSTV(For Premium Entertainment) and HITV(For Football). The EPL football right is a do-or-die affair for HITV as many people will see no use for them without Football.

HITV's Entry has actually made Pay TV more expensive for Nigerians. With DSTV Nigerians got everything for 9k but HITV has made that rise to 9k + 6k = 15k.

The DSTV decoder has a nifty feature called "Parental Control". Activate this feature and the channel will not even display on your TV. There is no need sugesting a Sharia-Like aproach over this issue.

Sports › Re: WCQ: Kenya vs Nigeria - (2-3) by abhosts(m): 5:24pm On Nov 14, 2009
People calling for a new coach have not learned anything from the Onigbinde debacle in 2002. I dont think amodu is the best Nigeria can offer, in terms of football coaching but it will be very unfair to sack him now. No foreign coach can succeed under the current administration of the NFF. The coach will probably abandon the team a few days before the world cup begins due to "delayed payment of allowances". He should at least enjoy the fruit of his labour.
Sports › Re: Should The U-17 Boys Replace The Super Eagles? by abhosts(m): 4:37pm On Nov 13, 2009
Many People simply do not get it. Those guys appear to be performing well because they are playing against kids. So because players are performing well on the lowest stage of football, they should be moved up to the highest stage? (What logic). Most of them are in their late 20s and early 30s. In reality they do not have much time left in their careers. At least 80% of them will vanish into oblivion in about 3 years time.

I find it absolutely pathetic that Nigerians continue to cheer these shameless age cheats. I really feel very sorry for the real under 17s that laboured so hard for this tournament, only to be beaten by folk old enough to be their uncles.
Computers › Migration Codes For Etisalat's Easynet Data Plans? by abhosts(op): 10:23am On Nov 13, 2009
Hi Guys,

I have a USB Modem that can work with all the GSM networks. There is no MTN 3g coverage in my present location and Zain's browsing is very epileptic. I am thinking of giving etisalat a try.

How does one subscribe to their 100mb data plan?

Thanks
Family › Re: Involving Extended Family In Decisions - Is It Right by abhosts(m): 4:00pm On Nov 03, 2009
@Poster,

If only you could look at this issue from a spiritual perspective, it would have been a solved issue a long time ago. This scenario is called a soul-tie. It is more rampant between Mother and Son in this part of the world. With the right kind of prayers (In Christ), such bond can be broken.

I wish your marriage well.
Business › Re: Help Required With Funds Witheld By GTB by abhosts(m): 10:35pm On Nov 02, 2009
You are not alone in this; and that is where the real complication lies. GTBank's GTPay system acts as an intermediary between it's customers (Merchants) and Interswitch, which means that full cooperation between both entitiesis is very crucial to resolve every single hitch. Unfortunately, this is simply not the case and this creates a scenario whereby GTBank is not able to ascertain the exact owners (Among It's Numerous Merchants) of funds credited to them in many cases.

Many people go for GTPay because they feel they are getting a good bargain when compared to using Interswitch directly, but this is a lesson that anything short of Interswitch's main API/Gateway is tantamount to trouble. It is better to deal directly with Interswitch.

Politics › Re: Nuhu Ribadu Reacts To Bode George's Sentencing by abhosts(m): 5:22pm On Oct 29, 2009
Those speaking against Ribadu obviously just started paying attention to the news. It was the then Nuhu Ribadu led EFCC that first indicted Bode George in its report that was submitted to the Federal Executive Council (FEC). However, Baba Iyabo decided to play hide-and-seek with the panel's submission and asked them to go and investigate again. How was that Ribadu's Fault?
