For complete beginners, you may start lessons at the closest Alliance Francaise to you. More info on the TEF thread here, pls read through:

Even if it takes a year or more to conquer (CLB7), the extra points more than make up for any points you lose due to age.
I don’t know about french but to attain CLB 7 in IELTS requires some good level of proficiency. In U.K. I see a lot of students (16-25) from China and Middle East struggle to get CLB 6 IELTS after studying English at their home country for a year or 2. They still attend a language school in U.K. to up their scores to be eligible for the tier 4 study visa . It’s not an easy feat. People above 35 should consider their options as this french route requires a lot of effort, patience and dedication

Hmm... This process just keeps getting difficult by the day. Who would believe that people got ITA with 413 CRS once upon a time in this race.

Las las, it will end in praise for us all
Yea . What’s you guess for the next draw ? I feel it will be 473

bilingual people in the pool are not up 10% you can read the year end reports of 2018 amd 2019 to see. No way scores will start from 500.
I look at it differently . With the new policy lots of people will begin to take the TEF/TCF exams over the next few months and when they get into the pool armed with both french and English they’ll have scored above 500. When immigration Canada decided to select top 3900 with a good number above 500 the minimum CRS will be about 500. This will not happen this year but it’s a possibility next year

Can you recommend how I can learn French, I'm a novice
To be able to learn french to the level of meeting the CLB 7 band will require a lot of time and effort . With the new policy applicants will need to prepare for french exams just as they’d prepare for IELTS because the CRS cut offs in the next few months will be from 500 upwards.

After my score got updated to 479 no draw huh huh huh.

Chai which kind luck be this cry
At 479 you shouldn’t have anything to worry about . Even if there is no draw till December I don’t see CRS cutoff going above 475 . It’s those waiting for a leap to 470 that may see a delay in the anticipated cutoff drop

It’s so hard to predict today’s draw due to yesterday’s announcement regarding French additional points . All the best guys.
Nothing much will change. French speakers only made up 4-5% of candidates in the pool in 2019. If there's a dramatic increase it wont be more than 10% this year. However there will be a gradual increase in CRS cutoff in the next one year.

too risky to travel outside where? If you get opportunity to travel to Canada now won't you? Forget aii those excuses and travel if you have the money. Me I travel with my family twice during the peak of covid go write ielts
I dont know the origin of your message but remember that decisions people make are based on individual situations. Not everybody will jump at an opportunity of going to canada for many reasons. Going to Canada itself is not an opportunity but what you are going there to do is what determines whether it's an opportunity or not.

Good morning ppl, trust you are all doing well. Please I want to seek advise. Me and my fiance are getting married next year or early 2022. Can we start applying for the express entry pool before we get married or after we get married as she would be the primary. We have already started processing WES and we are practicing for IELTS while she would also do TEF.
While doing entry score simulation I was getting 500-540 points depending on the choices.

For our background. I am 36yrs old with B.sc Computer science, I have about 8-10 yrs working experience in IT while she is 26yrs old studied French but she is a Make-up artist and into music.

Any advice and suggestions is highly welcome
Recalculate your CRS 500-540 seems on the high side for a 36 year old with no advanced degree. 2022 is two years away and policies may change by then. We can only base our assumptions on currently existing policies

I want to specifically thank @ifeoma77 and @topsmamen... They helped me through out my ITA period and ADRS. I am sure they thought I was in Canada already that I just didn't come here to announce. I really appreciate you guys for all you did for me. May God reward you in ways you did not imagine
Why did yours take so long ? aren't express entry applications meant to be processed within 6 months ?

Okay, thank you.

But did you also get low scores during your practice?
Yes initially I was getting 7/7.5 in listening and 6.5/7 in reading but as time when on I improved my average score to 8.0 in listening and 7.5 in reading . However in the real exam I got 8.5 in both modules because the practice materials were harder

I strongly advice against using any material not by Cambridge for practice. They are either too easy or too hard compared to the original IELTS test. Stick to Cambridge official materials :-)
The one I used was too hard but it made the exam easy for me

please how did you study for writing and speaking?
I didn’t study for them. I relied on my years of writing . Back in my pre-uni (foundation) in England I use to top the class in my essays and decided to use same tactics I was using then.
Though I’ll advise you prepare for it as it may not be same with you.

This constitutes misrepresentation and you will receive a 5 year ban. Our reputation is bad enough, why do you want to add to it? Oyinbo people are thorough oh, so my advise is that you drop this application and apply through the normal route or pray for a PNP that doesn't need a family member in that province.
This your application will end in tears, I assure you.
I wouldn't even answer him. I have gone through this post and read stories of many hardworking Nigerians who thrived to get the points via test preparation, test repetition (someone wrote up to 6 times), french tutorials, acquisition of advanced degrees .... They all worked hard for it. Tomorrow because of a fraudulent case like this some Canadians will tag Nigerian applicants as fraudulent.

I keep getting a band 6 in listening and reading cry cry
Questions are harder but after practicing all including the master series I made 8.5 in both listening and reading CBT. I didn't prepare for speaking and writing though because I speak english daily and I wrote too many essays and research papers as a student about 10 years ago. I also noticed many people avoid the BC computer based test but I found it very convenient as compared to the paper-based test because its easier to type than write

ulterior motive? I strongly doubt, Air peace is not a threat to American owned Airlines, infact Air peace isn't the biggest in Nigeria (I stand to be corrected).
he was caught in a money laundering fraud, and it's obvious America was trying to Protect her financial system, hence the Case.
we have to respect America's decision to prosecute him, we need a society free of fraud and other forms of corruption.

and saying maybe we/Yorubas had a hand in this case is laughable, as a Yoruba man, we don't beat chest, we are humble people, I would be straight forward here ; do you think the Yoruba nation can influence a country like USA, the greatest country on Earth? that's ridiculous.

let USA do their work, don't involve Yorubas here, it's not plausible to say we can influence a country a USA.
Allen Onyema was careless and played into the hands of the Americans. One thing I am sure of is that there is a political motive behind this. If you are a business man or politician dealing in at least a million dollars of revenue there will always be something the US or Nigerian government can use against you when they want to. It’s either tax evasion , or fraud or money laundering or something. That’s why there are financial advisers because funds from NGO’s are not taxed and aren’t meant to be used for business . He got funds from donors ( NDDC and the IOCs) into his NGO account and made transfers from that account to USA . Obviously in the process laundering must have been involved . Arik served a similar purpose when it was setup but they probably did a better job.

Hi, how long did you practice for the first test?
About 6 weeks but that’s because I was working full time and not paying much attention to it . But if you can do 4 listening and 4 reading daily . And do it one listening one reading to simulate the real exam. In addition if you can try it all on a computer as I found it a lot more convenient than the paper one (particularly the listening and writing section )

What worked for me was https://ieltsonlinetests.com/ I practiced all tests (listening and reading) including master. When I was done I signed up with british council for the computer based test . I wasn't satisfied after the test and I immediately re-registered to write it again without waiting for the results to be released because I figured out that I missed two questions (listening) with my birthday approaching. First result was LRWS 8.5, 8.5, 8, 8 . When the second test result was released I got LRWS 8.5,8.5,7, 7.5 . I expected to do better in the second one but did worse because section 2 of speaking was on a topic that didn't make sense to me. I didnt enjoy it.

Because I am thinking of applying for mine tomorrow when I get to work and I plan using a UK address so it can be scanned to me rather than wait for international delivery.

You can't pay from Nigeria even if you have the card details of a foreign account. They use the IP address of your internet to know what country you are applying from. To get mine I got someone in the US to apply for me under Third Party Application. You'll give the person all the details and colour scanned documents. You also have to write, sign and scan a letter of authorization certifying that you have given permission for the person to apply on your behalf. They also need a document where you have your signature. I guess they need it to compare it with the signature in the letter of authorization. Your intl passport will suffice for this. They process your application really fast as long as you give them all the required info and documents. At the point of paying I suggest you select the standard time for processing £55 (12 working days) and international courier £48 depending on how much time you have to submit your Application. This way you are sure about the post and you'll get it in time. I got mine within 2 weeks. I hope this helps.
I applied for mine from my home and Lagos and paid with my GTBank card. Kindly verify this info . I did mine on https://www.acro.police.uk/
Selected regular posting don’t know how long that takes though. Part of why I’m still reluctant to create my profile because I’ll have crs 481 and if I get an invitation this week I may not have enough time to gather these documents .

Who knows of MSc programs in Nigeria that can be completed under a year
You guys should earn this MSc the right way. Very soon WES will downgrade all these rushed/packaged MSc programs because it’s becoming obvious that they are sold for immigration points and thus not comparable to what is obtained in elsewhere. Before you know it people will be asking for a 3 month MSc program

My question for these anti-concession/anti-sirika elements is simple. Before now (1999 till date) how well have our airport terminal buildings been managed ? How good are our terminal buildings in comparison to that of other african countries (Niger, Chad, Ghana,
togo, Kenya, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Egypt , etc ). Our terminal buildings under the management of FAAN have been ranked one of the worst by several bodies. During the days of Arik I know many that rejected flights from London to Cotonou and London to Accra on arik simply because it transited through Lagos MMIA and they say the reviews are all negative. Clearly FAAN has failed in all ramifications in managing the airport terminals. The employees of FAAN know that hard work and efficiency will be the new order in a privately run airport. They are doing everything to blackmail minister. The heads of NCAA and FAAN have both had successful carriers (one of them in ICAO) before getting to government so I don't get the whole stooge thing

Hello all,
I am an IT professional with 7 years experience working for a top company UAE. Due to the recent visa issue for Nigerians in UAE, I have decided to migrate to Canada. I am married with kids. I checked the CRS score and could only amass 418. I have savings of about 12 million naira. So my options
1) Travel to Canada for MSC. I will have to pay fully for this cos I don't have good grade in BSC.
Also travelling will mean I will have to resign on my job of salary about N2m although most likely I will get another one.
2) Do masters distance learning online from UK or from other cheap universities so I can add to PR point but it will still be 456. The advantage of this is I still have my job in UAE and don't take much risks by jumping to unknown. But with this my CRS will still be too low.
I will appreciate any response/comment on this...
I’ll suggest you go the route of Ontario tech Nominee. Express entry currently suites candidates below the age of 32 with an advanced degree (master or PhD ) and language scores at CLB 9 or 10.

Going by recent trends you should get ITA in the next draw. So no need to wait for the masters, dive into the pool like Michael Phelps if you haven't already
Just thinking 60 days feels too short to complete an application as I’ve lived in three countries and need to get police report in all three. Is it okay if I don’t respond to an ITA ? My Crs score is 481 At the moment . Thinking of accepting the ITA after the draw in mid November
