That's entitlement mentality, a more dangerous trend amongst Nigerians. |

It can't be for me since I am not the one advising women to STOP SUFFERING WITH THEIR MEN but instead go out there and make themselves comfortable (In my interpretation: even if it means leaving their relationships and marriages to become oloshos) because one motivational speaker called Yul Edochie cheated on his "suffering" and smiling wife. |

I'm not a Yul apologist and don't care wat he says and will most likely care even less in 2 decades. I'm way more busier charting my own path. My point remains Yul's actions stink not only because his wife stuck with him before his dad made it but because he has disrespected her and his marital vows and it stinks even much more because his wife started life with him and is committed to him. Well Madonna once sang, you will only see wat your eyes want to see. Odabo Good. We can condemn Yul's actions without trying to make ladies who are "really suffering" with their decent husbands look like f00ls for upholding their vows. Odabo. |

Gloriagee: I feel like bookmarking the section where you postulated that female actresses APPEAR richer cos they have multiple sources of income but I don't wanna be sidetracked. Yul's marriage is about 17 years, nearing two decades so if you say Pete Edochie is highest earning over a decade, doubt Yul and his siblings benefitted significantly from the largesse.
Everything about how he's handled this matter reeks of contempt for women and no one said some women are too special to be cheated on. We just think spouses should not be deliberately and repeatedly cheated on. Now the large public outcry is cos Yul himself has repeatedly and publicly hyped his wife for sticking with him when he had nothing and we (male, female and his male siblings) are particularly bothered about his appaling model of rewarding her. I'll really like you to bookmark this thread 'cos the same Yul will come back again in two decades to hype the second wife about how she stuck with him in 2022 when he had "nothing". I hope my aim is clear now? Please bookmark the page and save us the stress of having to type the same thing repeatedly. |

Before the gist was it's bad women who leave the broke guys and go for the yahoo boys and aristos, now the good women who suffered are burnt and all we can say is they chose to suffer?
I warned people about this when the news broke out. Failure to condemn the actions of Yul will breed monsters. Bold of you to think your wife did you a favour and married you out of pity. Gloriagee: Thought you and your ilk are always saying only actresses are financially buoyant in Nollywood but that's besides the point. YUL has said his wife was loyal to him, his brothers stand by her but Internet warriors like yourself are too busy exulting the serial adulterer. Please imagine your dad pulling this weird stunt on you at 16 and imagine how his actions will hurt the family. I feel for Mrs Yul the most but it's just a wake up call for her : Do you and be responsible for your own mental health. I am not in the category of people who said all actresses earn more than their male counterparts. For God sake Pete Edochie used to be (and maybe still is) the highest paid Nollywood actor for over a decade. What's the idea behind the cancel culture and gross generalisation? Female actresses appear richer because we all know that many of them have multiple streams of income and the industry somewhat favour them. For how long do I have to come to this thread to explain my point? People must not say what you want to hear, where you want to. And this thread is not about the correctness of Yul's actions. Nobody deserves to be cheated on. That's my view about life. Trying to demystify cheating behaviours based on who is less or more deserving of cheating husbands do not make sense to me. This is the narration I'm trying to correct but some are hell bent on pushing the narrative of "don't suffer with him". Even if you want to classify the type of ladies that do not deserve to be cheated on (since this is what the thread appears to be), I don't think Yul's wife has done anything beyond what other victims have done and still doing. |

Hedonini: I agree with the general idea, but my more practicable suggestion is to tie electoral suffrage to a minimum qualification of WAEC certificate.
Only individuals who have at least completed secondary school education and have a verifiable WAEC result should be qualified for voter's registration. That alone would knock out all the innumerable Mushin miscreants, Oshodi under bridge animals, Alimosho mosquitoes etc. who constitute the 'constituency' of these useless politicians... And most importantly, it would neutralise the voting power of those almajiri fools up north and liberate Nigeria from the political stranglehold of the North.
Easier said than done, and we all know it's never going to be implemented, but it's just a practical solution to the unfortunate situation we find ourselves. Exactly. We can't continue to do the same thing and expect a different result. |

“It was the leaders in my district that got me the form and talked to him that they wanted me to go back. You can go to my district, the elites might not know me but the grassroots are the ones supporting and voting massively for me” The grassroots are our major problem. Give them a bag of rice and you can literally buy their destiny. This is Tinubu's secret luck in Lagos. Tinubu doesn't need the votes of people in Lekki Phase 1 or Banana Island. All he needs to do is take a few notes and go to Makoko where 50 people share a 10 ft. by 10 ft. apartment. If I ever find my way to Aso rock, I will do everything within my power to ensure that only elites are allowed to vote. Anyone without at least, a net worth of N10m shouldn't be allowed to own a voters card. The poor will never allow Nigeria to work and that's a fact. The democracy we copied from the West isn't for us. The poor over there are at least educated and well informed. Many of them also do not lack basic amenities like food and water so you can't easily buy their votes by distributing salt and Maggi. It's a different case over here. Allow only the elite to choose our leaders so when their preferred choice fails, we can easily go after them and interrogate their choice. It's also harder to buy the votes of the elites here. We will only continue to f00l one another with our yeye democracy and criticise countries like Russia where only the elites make the most informed decisions. With democracy and poverty stricken grassroot formula, Nigeria will NEVER work. How can it work when Tony Elumelu has the same voting power with a thug in Oshodi? |

1. Your campaign is achievable but make sure you have enough money to share around so pregnant women can carryout ultrasound and other investigations to know which child is disabled or not. You'll also need a lot of funds for education as this is a major problem.
2. States like Zamfara and Bayelsa have less than 30% antenatal visits. The national average is about 53%. Mind you, when we talk about antenatal visits, it is mostly about people who visit primary healthcare centers where you can't find a laboratory.
3. Not all disabilities are congenital. Some are a result of highway accident, workplace hazards, polio, etc. What are you going to do about people in this category? Shoot them on sight?
4. My opinion is that the most achievable goal is to build healthcare (antenatal) centres or start a campaign and distribute supplements like zinc to pregnant women to address the risk of congenital diseases. I believe you will make a difference with this. For all forms of disabilities in general, it is completely up to the government to provide an enabling and friendly environment for everyone to thrive. |

So saying Yul was rich when he impregnated his wife would just be stretching the truth especially when he himself has said he wasn't.
No one is twisting your words. You are just adamant about Yul being rich when all indications shows that you are wrong. Even if Pete comes himself to tell you he wasn't rich at all, you'd still argue with him. I think certain people deliberately wanted me to use the "wealthy" narrative but from all pointers, I never mentioned that Pete Edochie was rich or anything close to being wealthy. The strongest words I've used here: "May did not marry into a poor family". Those who have issues with that statement ultimately have an agenda, which is to make May's case more pitiable or make it seem like she pitied Yul Edochie when we all know that everyone marries for their selfish interests. I hope this is not how you will wriggle round and round to avoid owning up to your faults and apologize to your wife when you are wrong LOL. My wife trusts my judgement. Apologies are for more worthy reasons not facts that we both validate online and offline, e.g. the definition of poverty. |

DaniDani: You really surprised me with this comment; It's below my expectation of you. Let's go by your assertion; #200,000 during nollywood breakthrough period of 2001-2009 is a huge amount of money, and that was per movie if it was the case. Anyone earning that amount in that period is averagely rich and can afford the good things of life. If Pete Edochie is earning within that range, he is rich, and added with adverts of which he was a hot cake and with good investment decisions, he's surely rich. #200,000 then can get you a good plot of land in Lagos that goes above #80m currently. #200,000 then can finance many projects then that #10m can't finance currently. I have tried to avoid dabbling into argument about his choice of second wife, because we don't know what transpired behind closed doors. I'm surprised too. I never knew there was a time an A-list actor was poor. Even Faze and TuFace of Plantation Boiz era weren't poor at that time. |
