NLC's planned strike is dead on arrival. Allow hunger or hardship do the planning. |
The Naira is appreciating against the dollar, but it's not showing the same trend against other currencies. Make una sha be careful. I won't say more ![]() |
reiddecuti:I hope the devil responds to those curses, though. A society where criminality is swept under the carpet is only postponing its day of total damnation. |
dominique:You still don't get it, do you? Why did Mahmood announce a winner without first understanding and clarifying the criminality in Rivers and other states? You are aiding and abetting electoral fraud by asking people to move on while those who committed the crime are yet to be reprimanded, sacked, or jailed. On whose side are you, really? You can't pretend to be on the fence and be all defensive or protective of the criminals and everyone involved in electoral malpractice. The internet buzz translated into more votes than I anticipated, as a matter of fact. The era of gaslighting people and making everyone believe that Northerners are unexposed are over. Another fact is that the middle belt contributed to a large bloc of the so called Northern votes. Despite the fraud, the results showed that PO was more popular than the red cap man in 13 Northern states. |
dominique:The irregularities in Rivers state are more than enough to suspend the entire collation and announcement. Mahmood proceeded to add Rivers state results to the entire thing. Mind you, we saw complaints in several other states. Again, that's a clear case of collaboration. The EU report of last year is the worst we've seen since 2003, but that's the election you want people to move on from... |
poshestmina:It's quite "cheap" compared to the price of keke. I've always wondered how people save up over #2m to buy keke. |
dominique:He has the right to decline the hurried announcement. Why announce a result that is filled with irregularities. As of the time Mahmud announced a winner, iREV portal had less than 40%. We saw online, how people uploaded forged results. Some uploaded results were completely cancelled and re-written. Accepting forged results is a clear case of collaboration. Refusing to prosecute people in Rivers and many other states is a clear case of collaboration. What don't you understand again? Who else should I hold responsible? |
dominique:The truth of the matter is that some of us who voted PO in the last election no longer cares about Nigeria. I'm not responsible for the ignorance of the majority so come next election, my family and I will be voting the worst of the very worst candidate. The ma dness we saw in Rivers is more than enough to send the INEC commissioner to prison. But no, intellectuals would rather expect Obidients to move on. Move on to do what? Pray for Nigeria? LMAO! People like you never expect PO to win or do well in Abuja, Lagos, Nassarawa, Niger, Plateau, and Adamawa anyway. It's so easy to lump regions together. It's never been about anybody's ambition for me. As per the excuses you gave concerning Mr Mahmood, please let it remain on NL. All over the world, leaders take all the blames. How many of these so called workers have been punished? They're all sitting pretty in their offices including the criminals behind IT, all waiting for the next election to rig and mess up again. You all think this is about PO? A man wasted Nigeria's money on iREV, and all that doesn't seem to bother anyone. The brain behind the criminality is right there in Abuja, still collecting his salaries. |
poshestmina:Oh okay. Thank you |
poshestmina:Brand new? |
INTEGRITYA1:That's the reason for the emphasis "bank account" or "savings account." If you have to put all your life savings in an investment plan, then you're not 'all that' financially. The other side of it is that only a few Nigerians care about investment anyways. Piggyvest is one of the most used investment apps in Nigeria and as of today, the app has just 1 million downloads in a country of 200m people. Out of the 1m, how many are actual investors? As a matter of fact, the average loan app in Nigeria has more downloads than Piggyvest. To clear your doubts, go check play store o. Fairmoney has 10m downloads on Playstore! Iffahear say more than 5% of Nigerians have more than 500k in their account. Mind you, at least 30% of Nigeria's 200m population are students. More than 20% are unemployed. Over 10% are retired and broke. You only need to move close to Nigerians to understand the dire situation. People don't have cash to spend.. They may have cooperative savings (for the purpose of obtaining loans), ajo, or esusu (contributions for business), but none of that can be regarded as actual savings. |
I'm not surprised |
You know, I have been an ardent opponent of cryptocurrency, but just look around you today. Look at the rich and wealthy individuals between the ages of 25 and 45. How do you think they made their fortunes? This isn't solely about Yahoo boys or not. The world has evolved, and if you continue to focus solely on the morality and moral benefits of crypto for everyone, you may grow old with nothing to show for it. There is no policy in the world that benefits everyone, not even the Covid-19 vaccine. So, if you keep waiting for one, you'll wait forever. To my main point, I was about to graduate from school when Bitcoin gained a little prominence in Nigeria. Many people didn't understand it, and many weren't interested (I never showed interest too). Today, one Bitcoin (which used to be less than N10,000 in 2011) is now worth N98,000,000. Once again, look around you. This is how many of the youths around you became wealthy. You may continue to criticize them, while hoping the government will make you rich, but the reality may be different. The government only "cares" about the poor, and even then, no government in the world has been able to eradicate poverty. As a graduating student in 2011, I was making clean N10,000 in 1-2 weeks. Imagine "investing" a little sum of that money in Bitcoin. Well..... If you are not going to steal, just follow the "new" money or new ideas that do not seem to make sense to all. At the end of the day, you may lose, but at least you tried. Just make sure you are following a new invention. People who bought huge shares at Nvidia and Netflix when these new generation companies were barely known have suddenly become multi millionaires in dollars. That's how the world works. Whether you like it or not, your Naira will make people rich in USDT just as the time you spent on Netflix will make the shareholders extremely rich. Nothing favours everyone equally. Ire o...! |
Nicepoker:Oh now you recognise the difference between a pastor and an ordinary member but you don't seem to understand the difference between an ordinary member and a prominent member and financier?? My brother, no too carry your church denomination for head o. There are thousands out there, so na you go explain and defend tire without evidence. Like Wigwe, as soon as you leave this world, your church denomination dies with you. As a matter of fact, all those RCCG buildings and banners, drum sets, keyboard, your church offering box will be acquired by bandits and other anti Christ agents by the time the genuine Christians are gone. The Wigwe's family and relatives have reacted appropriately. God will not be agree if they decide to leave RCCG to another denomination to serve the same living God. Don't be too hard on yourself and don't try too hard to defend worldliness. Defend your faith - the Christian faith instead. |
Nicepoker:Here is a better example: If the pastor of the church had died, will the birthday be suspended or not? |
naptu2:Is Gowon an Hausa man? Why should a Lau man from Plateau state in the middle belt speak Hausa? |
Impressive |
Nicepoker:You're not worried that while your mini mama GO is flexing and dancing ayagaya igirigi and agba baller by Flavour,"Redeemites" were observing the annual 40-day prayer and fasting as instructed by papa GO?? |
... |
Nicepoker:Yes. Pure and Simple. You can postpone birthdays. You can do another one next year unless you have a pending death sentence with God or government. |
We are waiting. In the meantime, go and fix the roads in your state. 90% of the roads in Ifo local government are beyond redemption. |
See wetin Redeem don turn to. Flavour?? Pathetic. |
Biodun556:He's already a successful man. He wanted power and now he has power. The question is have you succeeded? Will you succeed before 2026? |
Two things played out here: 1. The General is not Hausa so why force him to speak another man's language? Now I hope people understand what the middle belt folks go through in the hands of these barbarians? Gowon is from Plateau and Hausa is not the language of Plateau people. 2. Secondly, the general clearly refused to do a propaganda job here for BAT's Hausa audience. |
See this ma. d man. You think dollar or crypto is the only problem? You are currently using Naira to buy Naira from POS vendors, but na Obidients be ya problem. To withdraw N20k today, you need N400. ![]() You people don't know what the government has done to your finances and senses. How can a people submit both their finances and senses to the government? ![]() |
How does the Naira contribute to the economy? |
malali:I have never been a fan of "sending people to the farm." Nobody will listen to you. Agriculture right now is very unattractive to many graduates. Folks who studied agric courses spent 5 years in school; they're not going to go through that stress only to end up with miserable and insecure jobs with peasant pay. To make agric attractive, we need to move away from peasant farming to modern day practices. Lets get local and international investors to invest in that sector. If Tony Elumelu or the Adelekes, Otedolas and Dangotes decide to invest in that sector, graduates will apply in their numbers. We can't abandon that sector to the "Kamorus" looking for 35k earners and hope that people who spent 5 years studying Agricultural economics and extension in FUTA will send their CVS. They won't. I'll rather burn my certificates than pick up a h.oe and cutlass too. We must evolve and make that sector attractive. We don't have to send 100,000 graduates to the farm. This sort of schemes have consistently failed over the years. Till tomorrow, it will continue to fail. We only need two or three serious investors to look into the sector. We didn't have to send graduates to the Niger Delta to explore oil. All we needed to do was attract the likes of Shell. So why are we trying to send broke people to the farm with some miserable loans and empowerment? To do what? |
malali:Lol We have over 150 institutions already, offering agricultural courses. The question is what do you have for them upon graduation? Most of these people will end up selling Ankara and bags on WhatsApp. Some end up in the bank. |
StOla:You should have given this advice to Seyi when he took $11m to the US to buy a mansion na. What kind of work is he into? Kenyamo was a Nigerian Minister when he also took over 100m USD to buy an apartment in the U.S. Why did you not advise the government to convert his USD 200m to Naira? Una go learn the hard way! Continue to pamper wicked politicians who started this madness. We were in this country together when these cra.zy individuals were buying loyalty and votes with USD notes before the primary elections. And you think the youths are senseles s?? Lol. The more they ban, the lower they go. An average 25 year old Upwork worker in Nigeria earns more USD than a lazy Senator who only relies on constituency monies in Naira. But somehow, even Abuja allocation-dependent governors with no brain have more USD stashed up somewhere in their households. How dem get am? No go secure your finance and household, dey m.umu yourself. You think these political vaga. bonds and lun atics care about you?? I hope you don't learn the hard way. |
An addition to my previous post. Some of B.A.T most influential advisors are from that country - Lebanon. Many must have heard or read about the Chagoury's. These are some of the international "best" brains surrounding B.A.T. People who couldn't save their own country. Today, $1 is worth 15,031 Lebanese pounds and this is the official rate. Unofficial as I saw sometime ago was close to 100,000. |
Hogwarthtrades:A similar idea came up in Lebanon. It can happen here or anywhere. Of $104 billion of hard currency deposits, the plan foresees returning just $25 billion to savers in U.S. dollars, with most of what's left converted to (Lebanese) pounds at several exchange rates, including one that would wipe 75% off some deposits.https://www.reuters.com/markets/rates-bonds/lebanon-plan-sees-93-currency-slide-turns-bulk-fx-deposits-pounds-2022-01-31/ People became paupers overnight. Dem no dey tell pesin oo. The government divided the losses: This time, the losses are divided out as follows: $38 billion by depositors; $13 billion through a reduction in the capital of banks' shareholders; $10 billion in a government perpetual bond; and $8 billion by the central bank. |
