but for u to say Honda suspension are by far smoother, that's not true at all.

we all know the truth, I'm sure u do, u ain't no newbie to automobiles.

so I'm not gonna push my opinion further cos of the reason in my former post!

If you dont know, ask and i will tell you. Hondas have better ride quality and greater stability at high speed than Toyota. The ride quality is because honda has more bushings and dampers than their Toyota mates have.

First pic 2003 honda accord, basically all accords from 2003. Only sway bar missing in older hondas. Bushing count 7

2nd pic toyota camry bushing count 4

3rd pic toyota Fj cruiser bushing count 6

4th pic toyota Lexus GS bushing count 6

Can you see the similarity of the Honda and high end toyotas. The differences you see here is why the ride quality on camrys and corollas so poor.

Apart from the bushings the double wishbone suspension movement defers especially from the single one on camrys and corollas. This increases stability especially during cornering by maintaining camber. Meanwhile the single wishbone set up has fixed camber but camber changes during driving (imagin how bad that is).

after reading a lot of comments. sitting on d existing protocol permit me to add mine. first of all I will lyk to say am a graduate of Chemical Engineering.d truth is comparing Chemical Eng with Civil is lyk comparing Maths and Eng.it depend on d perspective u re looking at it from.if u re gud in drawing Civil will be easier for u but if u re better in analyzing complex calculstive problems chem eng will b better for u.both no easy sha....sharrout to my eng boys and baby guys back then at MAUTECH Yola
Also very funny. Civil engineers dont draw.

First is analysis, then design and lastly drafting. Drafting is the easiest part where laymen can. Most top engrs employ draftsmen for that part.

Infact design has been made easy with softwares. However, experience is needed for the input on the software else the output will lead to a failure. Experience is also needed to know that the output will lead to a failure.

Am sure you know math well, have you ever seen moment distribution in math? Am sure you will see figures flying here and there but you will never in your life know what it means. Yet you call it math. Besides, the math is just analysis and the design is yet to start.

Chemical engineering is very abstract..lots of mathematics, computations and calculations..forget chemistry..it has nothing to do with chemistry except at the base or elementary level as science is its foundations. You are hardly able to conceive in your mind what is being said, where as in civil, immediately they talk trusses, you see them in your mind, immediately they call a unistrut, you see it, you see materials, you see projects, you see structures.
In chemical engineering, yku have to think in 4 dimensions- x, y,z and the last cordinate, which is an abstraction.
So in transport, thermodynamics, chemical kinetics, etc etc, you are just solving mathematicsl models, maths maths maths.. while engineering is derived science, chem engr is derived engineering.
Very funny.

What makes you think civil engineering is about trusses? If both chemical and civil engineering is about conceiving in the mind, what makes you think civil is easy to concieve in the mind.

first of all, I laff at most the comments, cos they show gross ignorance of what civil engineering is all about, back then in Uniben,as a civil engineering student,we write a single exam for 9hrs and no two answers can ever b thesame, while other departments exams go for about 2-3hrs,the truth is that chemical engineering is more of a child's play when compared to civil engineering in all ramifications.
U cannot to design a single storey building in less than 12hrs, not to talk of a bridge or multi storey building.
WITHOUT BEING SENTIMENTAL,CIVIL ENGINEERING IS BY FAR HARDER THAN ANY ENGINEERING COURSE
If not for the computer and its processing powers, a building like burg el arab would still be under design processes.

sorry refrigeration is just a 3 credit unit course and not a department. Yes it is an area under 2nd law of thermodynamics. Chemical thermodynamics covers refrigeration too but not as deep as in mechanical. The difference between the two is that while chemical centers on the mechanism, mechanical covers the accessories for constructing the refrigerating system
You've said it all.

Under the Nigerian undergraduate curriculum, the chemical engr cannot deal with refrigeration in the same level a mechanical engineer would.

I remember refrigeration labouratory in mechanical engineering department of ABU zaria but never seen that lab in chemical.

A chemical student takes chemical thermodynamics as a depth course 3 times and plant design and process design as a related course. the only similarity between mechanical and chemicals thermo are the laws, power cycles and power plants, the rest are absolutely different.

U think civil is hard, please go and ask of process optimization or reaction engineering am yet to see any engineering courses more difficult than those two
Am not a mechanical engineer.

If you are an engr you should know that refrigeration is a department in the mechanical engineering.

What is refrigeration based on if not thermodynamics? Does Chemical engineering have refrigeration dept?

Civil engineering maybe tougher than mechanical but certainly not close to Chemical. Chemical is a course u won't want to come close to if u don't have a strong mind. Only transport phenomena covers fluid mechanics, heat transfer and thermodynamics. Chemical thermodynamics is not like normal engineering thermo. Mass transfer is now the crazy then reaction engineering the craziest.
Control engineering is done by both Mechanical and chemical I don't think civil offers it. Wen bode and Nyquist plot fall on u den u will unde
Bros, i read civil engineering but didnt say civil is harder to mechanical or chemical.

I dont do that neither should you.

I think people are wired differently. Say within physics as an encompassing, i have strong areas where i have a greater grasp of the principles. Different engineering courses focus on different areas while others interlap.

Thermodynamics interlaps between chemical and mechanical, fluid mechanics between water resources, civil. Surveying and Geoinformatics between land surveying and civil.

However, civil engineers would have done less credit units on surveying and geoinformatics than land surveyors would.

No matter how much pipeline transportation is done by the chemical engineer, the civil or water resources engr would have done more credit units. No matter how much fluid mechanics i do as a civil engineer, a water resources engr would do more. No matter how much thermodynamics a chemical engr does, a mechamical engr does more. Engineering overlaps, but it does not mean one is more difficult to the other.

Above all, the core of structural engineering cannot be harder than the core of chemical engineering if i understand both principles very well.

Mechanical is not even as hard as chemical talk less of civil. The truth is that in civil the calculations are somehow straight forward, u can know wen u arrive at the answer. but chemical, my brother it's too complex. Before anybody quotes me, I have a degree in chemical and mechanical. I will prefer writing mechanical exams compared to chemical. civil na their junior brother.
Funny you have experience with chemical and mechanical but non on civil.

Dont think that the introduction to civil engineering been taught in 200l in the Nigerian curriculum exposes you to what civil engineering is.

The bolded is absolutely wrong.

No two civil engineers would design a building, bridge or road and come out with one definite answer. There is even no answer in civil engineering. However, from calculations we only recommend. Recommedations are also guided by rules and bounded with ranges and limits. This is what makes civil engineering difficult.

Instead of the nonexistent reason you gave, i think the reason civil engineering appears more difficult especially with low graduation results is because most intelligent engineering students usually go for more lucrative courses such as Chemical, mechanical and electrical engineering. We all know civil is not as lucrative and competitive like its counterparts especially as demanded by oil companies which are the major employers of engineers in Nigeria.

The best brains in Chemical and mechanical engineering during my school days are all oil company staff today. The best guy in civil engineering is still a hustler in Abj making very little money compared to his chemical and mechanical counterparts.

How many children do you hear say i want to be a civil engineer. They either say i want to become a chemical engineer or mechanical engineer. So during admissions the best compete for chemical and mechanical. This who are good but do not get mechanical are through to Agric, metallurgical or civil engineering.

Last time i had very high hopes of getting federal government employment, the senate took over the list and nothing came out of it. They have been doing it and since Buhari refused to interfere with the senate, they will keep doing what they have been doing.

ITF recruitment 3 years ago ended the same way after senate hijacked the process. A top ranking official in ITF told me he cannot help me even when we were very close. He told me to get a note from my Senator else he cant help. The final list of succesful candidates never ever came to light. An ITF staff told me people who never sat for the interview reported for the jobs in various tranches with letters from the senate. This was after a whole year has passed.

Fortunately or unfortunately, Honda suspensions are by far smoother than Toyota.

Do you know that Honda suspensions are basically the same year in year out in all models while the Toyota uses the same kind of suspension only in SUVs nd trucks leaving the low end models with the very simple type of suspension set up. Toyota has sacrificed comfort for economy.

You need to to ask your self why all Honda have upper arms but only SUVs and trucks have them in Toyota.

I agree too that weight is a factor. The point I was trying to make is that company A and B can manufacture a 2.0L engine but one can consume less fuel for the same power output. True, possibly because Company B has focused on Horse power.

Also as regards weight, one car maker can be better at making lighter cars that meets minimum safety requirements for a particular class of vehicles.

Remember that these car makers spend a lot on R&grin with the aim of outperforming their competitors and that's what I mean when I say Toyota probably makes better engines that Hyundai/Kia due to the fact that they've been developing and improving their technology for far longer that their Korean counterparts.
i dont feel its a fair comparison between Kia and Toyota. They are not mates but Honda is Toyota's mate.

In my own opinion, Honda is very good at squeezing more HP/torque in engines while Toyota is good at squeezing mileage from engines both using same technology. As far as am concerned, Kia is a new comer so they have not been know yet with a statement other than selling cars.

Every car brand name has a target. Daimler is known for luxury. If you compare engines in terms of fuel efficiency, i am pretty sure no German car will compete with Japanese cars matching HP/torque per litre of fuel.

I can continue bring actual comparison bases but the truth is that its not easy to compare one car to another using a single criteria.

The bolded is not entirely correct. The brand does matter! Compare a Toyota and Kia/Hyundai of the same year and engine capacity and you'll find out that the Toyota always has higher mpg!

Why? Simply because Toyota's automobile technologies (engine, transmission et al) are superior!
While i agree with the first line, i may not agree entirely to your post.

Manufacturers balance between a lot of factors especially fuel efficiency and power. Weight is a factor that can cause major differences on the same class of cars.

A 2010 Kia Cerato could be more fuel efficient than a 2010 Toyota Corolla even if both have same engine size say 1.8cc and same horse power. Even if the same engine is used on both cars, and same ECU and elctronics, weight of both cars will not be the same. This will create a major fuel efficiency difference.

Superiority is a bland statement. A 2010 Toyota cant be superior to a 2017 Range Rover. You will still be wrong to say a 2010 Toyota is superior to 2010 Kia.

Nerdg:
She told me of being pregnant and later had a stillbirth at the 7months.

The background.
I met her when we were teens and have always loved her. She refused me sex and along the line, her neighbor gave me (who is her relation). She learnt about this and we had our first break up.
We both got admission into different universities and couldn't see again.
We later met again and settled with a condition that there would be no sex. This didn't go down well with me and I called it off. This repeated and there was even a time I walked her out of my house because of this issue and didn't give her tfare. My house is like 1hr drive from where she lives.
The issue:
I love this girl to the extent that anytime I thought of getting married, she will come to mind.
Now I have a good job and she's done with school. I proposed to her and she accepted it.
Is about 3 months now, she came on my birthday 3 months ago. That was all. She doesn't come always because she stays with her elder brother and can't leave house just like that.

Note, we haven't had sex till now.

About 2 weeks ago, I told her about how I got a girl pregnant and we had to abort it and that since then I haven't been myself. That it pains me to this day. We talked about it and she was sorry over it.

Yesterday, we had a very deep discussion and she revealed to me that she had a relationship at school. They were together for 4yrs. I then asked her if she had ever missed her period. She said yes. But not to this school boyfriend but another man. She wanted to keep the pregnancy but her parents refused because the guy is not a good person. The guy wanted the pregnancy but her family didn't want the guy to marry her. She finally had a stillbirth at the 7th month.

I was stunned. I know she's not a virgin, she told me but I was confused. Sex had always been our problem and I never expected that she had experienced something like this. Now she asked me that she hope she won't regret telling me this. I told her no that she won't regret but I'm stunned.

Please should I still go on with this marriage?
Coming late to this thread, i have one concern. Its the sex you never had. I wish you will rule out every after marriage issues that may be linked to sex.

Forgive me "no sex before marriage advocates" but i am a "sex before marriage advocate". I really dont want you to later have regrets.

Guys have greater urge for sex, this makes guys confused on whether they are in love or they have an infatuation. Your desire for her as a wife may turn out to be an infatuation because you have never had sex with her. It will be good to drop that out of the things that should keep you from marrying her.

So if you feel like still marrying her after having sex multiple times, then you are good to go.

She has no valid reason to stop u from having sex. Religion is the best reason and she has not claimed that. She should give you valid reasons.

The fact that she was once pregnant and didnt do abortion is a very good qualification for some guys.

The man who claimed he passed out for some minutes after the collision - revealed that he came out unscathed from the accident. Read his story below;

'My Experience'.... EXCLUSIVE

About this time yesterday (1. 30pm.. Saturday, 15th of July, 2017), I was coming from Elder Dapo Adeyemi son's wedding ceremony in Alakuko, Lagos, to attend Chief Olusegun Osoba's 78th birthday in Abeokuta.

As we were trying to cross the rail track between Obada Oko and Adigbe in our vehicle, out of nowhere, all of a sudden, without any notice, we found a train 50metres away from our vehicle. HEAD ON, we were hit by this train that is probably running at 500kpm/hour.

I passed out, but to the glory of God, I woke up less than 5min after the collision and walked out of the CONDEMNED car unscathed except for a minor pain in my neck.

What else can I say than to thank Him!

Emi ki y'io ku iku kiku kan bi ki se yiye... The struggle continues.

Does this man know how fast 500km/h is?

Most planes dont get to that speed before take off. Even Bugatti Veyron cannot get to that speed talk less of a Nigerian train.

I guess the man meant 50km/h. The Abj-Kad train would go above 100 but they dont talk less of the other locomotives we have.

Yea, there are no warnings for approaching trains in Nigeria but they do horn and slow down before they reach any intersection. Unless the driver is new amd doesnot know the crossing.

I guess the man thought he was on a round about where the first to chuck head gets right of way like its done every where in Naija.

2 - 14 hrs a day on the steering.. day 1 might just be panadol, day 2 could be something else.. it would have been worth it if you earned more. Moreover if the 200 does not go to panadol, it might go to okada's showing you the path to take and uber maps fail most times

3 - servicing 3,000 miles has been my auto ritual.. it had made my engine last really long without ever working on it.. previously without uber 3000 miles could take me 3 - 4mths, i really dont think i should skip that while driving with uberas 300% more pressure is being put on the engine..

Forcast major repairs - a/c compressor and its components..
- shocks, linkages, tyroid, steering racks, ball joints, arms and bushings, rollers and maybe engine eventually..

Minor forcast repairs - ac filters, plugs and noozles, battery, interior wash(dirty riders), minor dents, wipers.
Changing synthetic engine oil every 3000miles is agressive and wasteful. U should atleast double that to 6000miles minimum.

7500miles is recommended for synthetic oils and 10,000-15,000miles for high mileage engine oils. Those using mineral oils are expected to cover. 3000miles at least.

30k for service is over the bar. 25k at best.
