shukuokukobambi:I saw a pride of lions with my very own eyes in yakari back in 1999. Those animals are very much around but visitors would hardly ever see them. The wild life officers and researchers spend time in the bush and get to see some of these animals that never want to come in contact with humans. |
twinskenny:That was why i bought directly from their office. I couldn't buy 4mm and 16mm because i needed in meter quantities. They told me if you want to be sure its Coleman, there is a specific weight. I want to buy 16mm recline, i got the quote but am not sure its for the 4 core that i want. I will definitely not buy outside. |
Unfortunately, i am reading this thread in the toilet. I might not have seen this thread if not for poop, so dont discourage me. |
All these will not help properly. The one i thought could help me but never did was AVG anti theft. It sent by mail, the serial number and network of a new sim that was inserted into my lost phone. I sent the wipe code but i dont know if it worked. The tracking wasn't successful too. The serial number of the sim didnt help since MTN would ask for police report before giving you. Infact MTN said they cant help, that i should give it to police to investigate. |
Takeit2017:Wizkid for sure. Davidos photo editing is quite visible. All the patterns were added to a plain shirt and background. Davido needs to fire his photographer for this embarassing picture. |
sooperrescue:Is the Range Rover you took there not better than 99% of the molue buses on Lagos roads. How many of those buses will be denied road worthiness and taken off the road? Meanwhile, private cars of law abiding citizens like yourself will be declared non roadworthy. Secondly, if your car failed, please tell me your car is not roadworthy and you were denied the certificate. If you got the certificate after failing the test, then the scheme has already failed. Thirdly, if those test are to be taken seriously, 90% of cars on Nigerian roads will be declared non roadworthy. As far as am concern, the mistake has been made. I dont see any commitment to see this thing work. I expected them to make appropriate laws regarding roadworthiness, make sure all states have multiple testing centres, then launch the program at once with enlightenment. At this time, VIO should be ready to impound cars that are structurally damage (those with welded or rusted chasis etc). They should set up forfieture laws, and demolition yards. Thats the point am trying to make. Besides, corruption will not let it work. |
sooperrescue:I can assure you that the "Honda menace" you claim wont stop until fake parts stop coming from China. The testing facilities are to test majorly for emissions and safety. Its unlike in the US when you have a check engine light, its an automatic fail. We dont have such strong laws. They check tires, tire pressure, spare tire, jack, wiper blades, rear view mirrors, windscreen, lighting, illegal modification of the car etc. Road safety are already doing all that. This is just duplication of duties or at best transfer of duties. Those rickety vehicles that carry fire wood, charcoal, market women never have documentation and would never be bothered. It is the private car owner that FRSC concern themselves with. I know that VIO do trouble some taxis and buses but still dont do a perfect job. |
sanmisamuel:Only Lagos and FCT has the testing facility. Other state road worthiness is still legally accepted even without computerised testing. The difference is in amount charged. In Kaduna, we pay ₦500 for testing. In Abuja, its like ₦2,500 but the actual certificate is ₦1,500 every where in Nigeria. The Abuja has one more thing i cant remember but its like ₦1000plus. |
Abuja has same process. As for me, i cant spend close to 5k in Abj looking for road worthiness when i can get it from Kaduna at half the price. Doing entire docs in Abj is like 12.5k but kaduna 7.5k. Both are valid anywhere. |
lonelydora:If you think paracetamol is your worst, you have no clue to what a terrible drug is. Try Metronidazole (Flagyl) and you will not take any drug for the rest of your life time. Artemether/lumefantrine is another. Coartem, lonart etc This one eh! It leaves its mark on your breath. I lack word to.describe that awful smell. |
Arthurwinner:Love wei go drill hole in my pocket, i no want. |
greenhulk:Guy wetin? Cant you see? Op wants to sell 1 car. The car front grille says Honda the trunk says Acura, the steering says Acura. You are arguing another thing entirely. We all know this model is a Honda in Europe but Acura in America. |
GAZZUZZ:I started laughing anxious for your reply. |
raymondFirstborn:I really cannot draw the line between Cost engineer and QS, like i said before, the duties are similar. Thank God for this post. raymondFirstborn:From your comments, it is typical of Nigerian professionals, we don't accept our limits and find ourselves doing jobs of other professionals and still making claims to the duty. I know a structural designer in Abj who might have been a secondary school leaver but was trained by a civil engineer as his personal draftsman. Years later, he was making alot of money on his own, you won't imagine the mighty church auditoriums, multi level parking, hotels etc he has designed for an average of ₦100k. These are public buildings. Just recently, he went for an OND, to have a minimum certification in civil engineering. How would this guy ever know limits. He does M&E, EIA, GI, just name them. I dont find it strange if you call yourself a cost engineer, its the Nigerian way. |
Lascode:Drive manually and lets know the result. Hope you know how to drive manually. Start the drive with selector at 1, shift to 2, then D3, then D4. |
zinachidi:Sorry to generalise, cause very few people with your name deny that. |
zinachidi:I also cant believe you quoted me without a valid point. Civil servants recieve dress allowance. Bankers do. They are required to dress corporate, when you demand that you provide it. I am an engineer, the minimum requirement as dressi g to site includes PPE, personal protective equipment. Who buys it? My company of course. A president represents all Nigerians, so i expect him to dress like a VIP, his wife at the function represent the country too, so she wears the best, drives the best eat the best and fly the best. She gets the best protection and alot. I understand u claim you are not a Nigerian so imagine if Bianca or Mrs Kanu wears 10k clothes to Meet Aisha our President's wife. What a Biafran embarassment. |
oyb:Using project management as an example, there are schools that offer project management as bachelor degree. These graduates are not just tasked with project management duties, it becomes their profession. I have done project management duties in my former company writing monthly progress reports and chairing monthly progress meetings and even representing the project manager etc. However, i would never be appointed or employed as a project manager with my little experience. In Nigeria, to be nominated and approved a project manager for a government related project requires minimum of 10yrs project management experience and 15yrs overall experience along with COREN plus other conditions. What is now the duties of a graduate of project management (bachelors)? He will not be employed a project manager without experience. So project management as a field of engineering is experience and also a profession. I can say the same with Cost engineering, its not just a duty, but a profession studied in undergrad and pg level. In my experience, I have been a cost engineer, a project manager, a structural engineer, a foundation engineer, a civil engineer, a driver/mechanic, a draftsman etc. Those were my engineering duties but that doesnot qualify me to be taken by Dangote group as their cost engineer for their refinery project. I have to get a certification or accumulate experience with regards to cost engineering. I can get admitted for masters in Cost engineering, project management, foundation engineering etc as a civil engineer. A chemical engineer can be admitted for cost engrg and project management but not foundation engrg. I can only use my cost engineering training for civil engineering projects but cannot cost chemical engineering projects. I am saying lets not limit cost engineering to duties of all engineers but recognise it as a professional engineering discipline side by side with QS as a discipline. Duties are the same but profession is not the same. |
od4life:When its a renewal or replacement, not all info are available to edit. However, only the FRSC officers can change those for you. In my case, the only thing i needed to change is my address. That was available for change. Imagine this, why would they make your blood group change available. Has you blood group changed? |
My 5 year old was watching Disney Junior this evening. My wife wanted to switch to Zee world. Immediately she asked, where is the remote control. My son quickly picked it up and sat on it saying and pointing to the wall clock "i will give you when the big hand is at 12 and the small hand is at 7". Meaning 7pm. What?! Come see laughter. We are waiting to see if he will surrender it. He is about to go to nursery 3 (called reading readiness). |
olumide4christ:As far as i am knowledgeably informed, cost engineering and quantity surveying are not exactly the same. Their duties however are very similar but their field defers. Quantity surveying deals majorly with building construction while cost engineering with engineering projects such as a refinery, high voltage power lines/substation, power generation etc. QS uses the term BOQ - Bill of quantities while Cost engineer uses the term BEME - Bill of Engineering Measurements. |
WhiteSoup:Congratulations WhiteSoup! How about chickensoup for me? |
zinachidi:I am sure if Aisha steps out in a bad road side tailored gown looking like a mad woman, you will be the first to criticize her probably saying its a national embarassment. To avoid national dress embarrassment, public officers recieve wordrope allowance. Even local goverment councillors enjoy that not to talk of a President and his family. Do you know that even in America, they spend tax payers money for people who are not even thaf close to the President. |
SpecNg:So Samsung produces a major part for iphone and Nigerians start arguing which is better. |
connkg:Lets look at the possible failure types of the ball joint. 1. Stripping of bolt or nut thread 2. Shearing of bolt 3. Pulling out of ball from socket There is no way to weld or prevent number 2 if you buy a substandard ball joint. This has happened to my Dad. It is foolhardy to tag weld the nut because it wont stop stripping then pulling especially if substandard ball joint and nut is used. If its a complete weld of the nut to bolt, that means suspension works are permanently limited. No access to entire drive shaft, shocks or the ball joint itself. This calls for destruction of the steering knockle arm, bearing and CVT joint from exposure to heat that will be required to remove the welded nut/bolt. Filing is a safe option but that destroys the bolt even when its good but a different maintenance work needs to be done. Lastly, with the weld of the nut episode 3 can still happen. Would you weld the ball to socket. Doing that means no steer since the ball needs to move freely in its socket during steer. From my knowledge, the only weld that happens there does not prevent pulling but prevents one unpleasant steer noise which has happened to me. The sitiation is where the ball joint becomes dry of grease then instead of the ball to turn in the sucket the sucket turns with steer while the ball remains fixed. Because the socket is not supposed to turn, it makes a loud cracking noise from friction. So a tag weld will stop the sucket from turning. I filing machine will remove the tags for replacement this doesnt affect anything. |
Gamesmart:See sense. Alot of Nigerians no longer have common sense. I wonder how our National common sense is eroded. |

anyaekekehinde:Working in that sector for over 6 years though not an elect engineer, i learnt that one of the secondary reasons light becomes inconsistent during the dry season is because of heat. Conductors and transformers heat up that load has to be shed to control transformer/conductor temperatures and maintain efficiency. A 100mva trasnformer may take 90% of its capacity during cold weather but may carry 50% or less during heat periods. Even our cars experience overheating mostly in heat seasons when AC's are required. It means the capacity of the distribution and transmission equipment increases especially in this season (August and September which are the wettest months in Nigeria). I wont be surprised if they were able to get that on a very wet and cold day all over thw country. Lastly, when such a claim is made, it does not mean that the threshold was maintained over a long time. Its probable that it was for a second. Even that would be a record. Lets not be negative. |
anyaekekehinde:On the quoted day, a 150MVA transformer or there about exploded in Jos workstation. The over 30 year old transformer couldnt take the heat. |
The house is 190m². POP was the 1st choice but beyond budget now. Even at ₦2,500/m² is not affordable. The client has the plan to remove any ceiling that will be done now in the entrance porch, main living area and dinning for POP. So PVC is an option here but the permanent areas is more of concern especially, considering durability, sound proofing and affordability. I have been looking at Nigerite Kalsiceil ceiling board but cant find it locally. A call to their contact has been unanswered. My email yesterday returned undelivered. I want to know if Nigerite has a dealer in Abj and how much is their price. Its 2 weeks now looking for a suitable ceiling. Budget is ₦250k. Suggestions are welcomed. |
zeekleo:Very funny ![]() Your steering will not work again!!! Na straight you go dey waka every time. So choose a direction before welding. |
