I think its time we look deeper at our other resources.
And yes these marketers should come to their senses, they are Nigerians too aren't they? The fuel we use in Nigeria is not from Niger Delta, it is imported fuel. |

After the preyaer session, most Nigerians are talking about this picture of Pastor Adeboye praying for David Cameron and he was standing on his feet, while president Jonathan was on both knees when he prayed for him before the election. Iconic singer ,Seun Kuti shared his opinion.
So guys, do you agree with him or not? Was he the one that told the president to knee down? |

ronald4lif: I find nauseating the comments people make on behalf of others. But what is much worrisome is the comments of common citizens like myself on social media. If a person must make a statement, let him/her make such statements personally and not on behalf of Ndigbo or Yorubas or Hausa people. I think in Nigeria, people often speak on behalf of a greater number of people who did not in any way, authorize or scrutinize their utterances. The effect of this is that, they bring problems on the others, mostly the majority poor.
We must learn to speak for ourselves, not others. I repeat the Oba of Lagos didn't speak on behalf of the Yoruba people. Even if the Igwe of my village or the Igwe of Anambra, Enugu or Imo had made such silly speech, it doesn't mean he spoke on behalf of my family, kindred, village or the Igbo tribe. After making such inciting statement and unrest occur they'll flee and leave the poor masses to suffer. Idiots in authority. But bigger idiots those who they keep misleading. God bless you |

OneNaira6: Thank you for breaking this down for them. To be honest, yoruba thinks they outsmarted the rest of the South yet not realizing it was the north that outsmarted them and won the ultimate prize. GEJ is the last president from the south..even many of the northerners on this forum threaten us with that years ago. Do SW honestly think they'll get any SE or SS groups to vote them into presidency after this 2015 election where both region saw their act as another treachery behaviors from them. The north would most likely keep wanting their own on top out of fear of losing it again and best believe when time comes, they'll use the SW treachery in their advantage.
I was among the first to congratulate North for their lifetime win. I congratulate them yet again. And to think that Jonathan got 1.8m votes from the sw while Buhari got 2.4m votes yet you go about insulting the whole sw. This was not a tribal issue, gej was not a good leader. Ask anyone working in a ministry and you will be amazed at what was happening. |

chillykelly86: From this write-up, is it impossible that the house maid was kidnapped alongside the kids?
But apparently, only 2 are missing. The 3rd, who is not as valuable as the two, has to be the kidnapper(albeit without any evidence).
This is classic display of the value most Nigerian mistresses attach to their house helps. It was at night so if it was an outsider there would have been a break in and why was it that the nanny and grandma didn't hear any noise. |

omar22: Yes most infrastructures like road and bridges been built in the western world has a toll on it but I dont agree with N500 which is too high, yes this levy goes towards the maintenance of the bridge its not like they collect road tax in Nigeria . We don't pay road tax but the amount of money spent on car repairs because of bad roads makes up for it |

Do these people even know that in Singapore ,you have to play yearly lottery to even get a driving license.this is not only to reduce the number of cars on the road and fuel consumption but to also reduce pressures on the foreign reserve. Personally I will like to see a congestion charge once the monorail project has been completed . Do you live in nigeria |

nuclearboy: Dude:
Try to be sincere for once! The argument about fuel subsidy was that it was the poor man's ONLY panacea in a harsh economy. This bridge is the EXACT OPPOSITE as it gets money from only the rich + there are alternative routes which remain FREE! I wonder why you feel lekki is a billionaire's paradise. As far as I know, Apapa gra, magodo and ikeja gra are in the same class as lekki. And what do you mean by only the rich, most are working lass people who have to pay various taxes this govt levies on them. Is the orile badagry road going to be tolled, why didn't the govt toll the roads in surulere, how many govt schools or hospitals do you see in lekki axis, is there any water facility there? All they do is to toll the roads saying it is a high brow area. Take a trip around lekki and u will see that it is home to all classes of people, rich, middle class and poor. I can afford to pay the toll but it does not make it right cause not everybody living in that axis is buoyant. |

2AMLasgidi: Has anyone thought of the implication of this bridge to the resident of Lekki Phase 1 & Ikoyi? The peace they enjoy everyday and at certain time of the night will go if Premium is not charged. Most of this guys ordinarily pay the LCC toll and still go to Tarzan to pay N1500 just to get into Ikoyi on time. If anything less than N300 is charged as Toll-Fee on that bridge Any kind of commercial vehicle eg "Danfo" and all sort will ply the bridge; and that is an invitation to trouble which you & I know.
There is an alternative, it is not compulsory for everyone to use the bridge there are viable alternative even to the point of not paying toll as long as the person can go through the pain involved. QED Commercial buses are not allowed into the estate and even taxis are not allowed in after six |

naptu2: Now I know what you are talking about! That sand route! It's actually someone's land, not a public road. However, some people have pulled down the wall (when was the last time you went there?).
I also believe that the government should tar that place and connect the Goshen Road to the Oniru New Market Road. That will be the beginning of the Coastal Road. I can't understand why they haven't done that.
However, there's an alternative: Oniru New Market Road-Oba Yesufu Oniru Road-Ligali Ayorinde Road Victoria Island (I use that route all the time). You don't have to go through the toll gate (wish I had a map to show you, but just turn in to New Market Road, before Phase 1 Roundabout and you'll easily find your way to VI). I wish I had the money to tar the road and put the government to shame |
