myproperty: some muslims on this site called the quran a perfect book and they say the Bible is full of errors, some even asked that errors should be pointed outin the Quran. i would point some out but before i do that i want to say something about the origin of the bible and Quran
1. The Bible said it was written by men through the inspiration of the Holy spirit . biblical accounts where written by different individuals. The Bible did not lie about the authors.
1b. The Quran said it came from God and the muslims says it does not contain errors.They claim it is a perfect book.
My conclusion is that anything that comes directly from God would be perfect and if there are contradiction and falsehood in such a book it did not come direct from God. the bible maybe excused from this because it had made in clear that man is the medium of whivh the Bible came to be and some portion talked about what some individuals actually did.
Over 90% Muslims canot talk about the Quran because they canot read it not to talk about what is in the Quran.

IS THE QURAN DIRECTLY FROM GOD OR IS IT A PERFECT BOOK?

1. The quran claims the jews kill their prophets. which prophets did the jews kill since the Quran claims that Jesus Christ was not killed.


Indignity is put over them wherever they may be, except when under a covenant (of protection) from Allah, and from men; they have drawn on themselves the Wrath of Allah, and destruction is put over them. This is because they disbelieved in the Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) of Allah and killed the Prophets without right. This is because they disobeyed (Allah) and used to transgress beyond bounds (in Allah's disobedience, crimes and sins). S. 3:112

Indeed, Allah has heard the statement of those (Jews) who say: "Truly, Allah is poor and we are rich!" We shall record what they have said and their killing of the Prophets unjustly, and We shall say: "Taste you the torment of the burning (Fire)." S. 3:181

In any case, it is amazing that with all these repeated accusations, the author of the Qur'an did not consider it necessary to mention even one of those prophets by name. Who are those prophets which the Jews allegedly killed? Is it a case of hatred for thr Jews or is that of a false accussation or that of a lie. I need an answer.

2.Who was the first Muslim according to the quran.
The Prophet of Islam said he is the 1st Muslem:
He hath no associate. This am I commanded, and I am the first of the Muslims. S. 6:163

Say (O Muhammad): Lo! I am commanded to worship Allah, making religion pure for Him (only). And I am commanded to be the first of those who are muslims (surrender unto Him). S. 39:11-12 [/i]

Abraham,Ishmael,Jacob and Jesus Christ lived and died many years before the Prophet of Islam. Infact Abraham,Ishmael and Jacob lived more than 2000years before the prophet of islam and the Quran claims they were also muslims and yet still claims that the prophet of Islam is the first Muslim.

[i]And when Ibrahim and Ismail raised the foundations of the House: Our Lord! accept from us; surely Thou art the Hearing, the Knowing: Our Lord! and make us both submissive (muslimayni) to Thee and (raise) from our offspring a nation submitting (ommatan muslimatan) to Thee, and show us our ways of devotion and turn to us (mercifully), surely Thou art the Oft-returning (to mercy), the Merciful. Our Lord! and raise up in them an Apostle from among them who shall recite to them Thy communications and teach them the Book and the wisdom, and purify them; surely Thou art the Mighty, the Wise. And who forsakes the religion of Ibrahim but he who makes himself a fool, and most certainly We chose him in this world, and in the hereafter he is most surely among the righteous. When his Lord said to him, Be a Muslim (aslim), he said: I submit myself (aslamtu) to the Lord of the worlds. And the same did Ibrahim enjoin on his sons and (so did) Yaqoub. O my sons! surely Allah has chosen for you (this) faith, therefore die not unless you are Muslims (illa waantum muslimoona). Nay! were you witnesses when death visited Yaqoub, when he said to his sons: What will you serve after me? They said: We will serve your God and the God of your fathers, Ibrahim and Ismail and Ishaq, one God only, and to Him do we submit (wanahnu lahu muslimoona). S. 2:127-133 Shakir

When Jesus found Unbelief on their part He said: "Who will be My helpers to (the work of) Allah?" Said the disciples: "We are Allah's helpers: We believe in Allah, and do thou bear witness that we are Muslims. S. 3:52


what is really happening in the Quran? But we know that Islam came about 800years after christianity, how come the Quranic claims? May God help us.

3.Allah, Adam and the Angels.
The Quran has a lot to say about the relation between Allah, Adam, the angels and Satan. In fact, some of what the Quran says regarding these persons or entities raises a series of questions and comments.

And when thy Lord said unto the angels: Lo! I am about to place a viceroy (khaleefatan) in the earth, they said: Wilt thou place therein one who will do harm therein and will shed blood, while we, we hymn Thy praise and sanctify Thee? He said: Surely I know that which ye know not. And He taught Adam all the names, then showed them to the angels, saying: Inform Me of the names of these, if ye are truthful. They said: Be glorified! We have no knowledge saving that which Thou hast taught us. Lo! Thou, only Thou, art the Knower, the Wise. He said: O Adam! Inform them of their names, and when he had informed them of their names, He said: Did I not tell you that I know the secret of the heavens and the earth? And I know that which ye disclose and which ye hide. And when We said unto the angels: Prostrate yourselves before Adam, they fell prostrate, all save Iblis. He demurred through pride, and so became a disbeliever. And We said: O Adam! Dwell thou and thy wife in the Garden, and eat ye freely (of the fruits) thereof where ye will; but come not nigh this tree lest ye become wrong-doers. But Satan caused them to deflect therefrom and expelled them from the (happy) state in which they were; and We said: Fall down, one of you a foe unto the other! There shall be for you on earth a habitation and provision for a time. Then Adam received from his Lord words (of revelation), and He relented toward him. Lo! He is the relenting, the Merciful. We said: Go down, all of you, from hence; but verily there cometh unto you from Me a guidance; and whoso followeth My guidance, there shall no fear come upon them neither shall they grieve. S. 2:30-38

The above passage brings up several questions. First, how did the angels know what the condition of man would be prior to his creation? Where did they get the idea that man would be a violent creature? Who told them? The text doesn’t say anything about Allah giving them this piece of information. Are angels omniscient?

Secondly, Allah secretly teaches Adam unspecified names in order to silence the angels for complaining against man. Was it not unfair for Allah to teach Adam these names and then proceed to challenge the angels to do likewise? Does Allah have to use deception and lies in order to vindicate himself against the charges brought against Adam by the angels (charges which turned out to be correct)? Is it not obvious that Adam would have been just as ignorant as the angels were regarding these things had it not been for Allah teaching him? What kind of vindication is this seeing that Adam only knew of these names because Allah taught him, whereas the angels were ignorant because Allah hadn't taught them these things?

And how does the naming of things justify the creation of man despite all the evil and violence he will commit? After all, if there is a superior value in humans that justifies their creation, despite their violent and sinful behavior, then it should be stated in a clear way instead of using deceptive tricks that hardly show the superiority of humans. Allah could have taught those names to anyone. This act of teaching man to name all things does not provide a sufficient reason at all why humans should be created despite the fact that they will shed blood. Allah could have simply taught those names to the angels, and then somebody would know them (if that was the objective), without there being bloodshed. So what is the point of the story, really?

Thirdly, after using deception to silence the angels Allah then proceeds to command the angels to worship the man. This command to worship was obviously the result of the man having bested them by naming the things which Allah had personally taught him. We therefore need to ask, why make angels worship Adam for being able to name things that they couldn't when the man only knew these names as a result of Allah having taught them to him? And why is Allah commanding them to bow down to Adam, a creature, when it is absolutely forbidden to do so in Islam? If it is argued that the prostration signified respect and not worship then why are such acts of respect forbidden in Islam today? It is obvious that Allah, unlike the true God of the Holy Bible, is always changing his mind and commands as time goes by.

Fourth, Iblis or Satan is blamed for not worshiping Adam even though the command was given to angels. According to the Quran, Iblis isn't an angel, but rather he is said to be a jinn:

And when We said to the angels, 'Bow yourselves to Adam'; so they bowed themselves, save Iblis; he was one of the jinn, and committed ungodliness against his Lord's command. What, and do you take him and his seed to be your friends, apart from Me, and they an enemy to you? How evil is that exchange for the evildoers! S. 18:50

4.Heaven or Earth, which was created first?

He it is Who hath created for you all that is on earth.
Then He turned to the heaven, and made them into seven heavens. -- Sura 2:29
Sura 41:9-12 also gives details on the creation process and confirms that the earth was created first and then the heavens. But then we read also:


Are you the harder to create, or is the heaven that He built?
He raised the height thereof and ordered it;
and He has made dark the night thereof, and He brought forth the morn thereof.
And after that, He spread out the earth. -- Sura 79:27-30

here it claims the heaven was created first after then the earth.

THIS IS THE FIRST PART , I WOULD COME BACK FOR MORE, I HAVE OVER 100 POINTS TO SHOW IN THE QURAN.
IT WOULD HAVE BEEN BETTER NOT TO HAVE ATTACKED THE BIBLE AND SHOULD HAVE HAD RESPECT FOR OTHER PEOPLES BELIEVE.

This man, Habila Adamu, was shot in his head after he refused to deny Christ by Boko Haram militants in Nigeria. But he survived and is here to share the love of Christ to the world.

Boko Haram is an Islamic jihadist militant organization based in the northeast Nigeria. The group came to Adamu because he is a Christian.

"They wanted me to deny Jesus. They want to ‘Islamitize’ Nigeria. That is why they are targeting Christians," he said in a CBN video posted on YouTube.

“If you agree to deny your faith you will be safe. If you don’t agree to do it, they will kill you,” he added.

And that is how he answered why he chose to stand his ground and refused to deny Christ.

cynthrob: Its so sad the level at which people die while crossing the now expanded Lekki Expressway! Just yesterday I was driving along d road only to see a fully grown guy struggling for survival after been knocked down by a car on top speed. There are for things that is so heartbreaking concerning this issue.

Firstly, I don't understand why on earth d street lights do not come on all the time at night, n we pay toll fee every time we pass through the toll gate. I asked a friend who works with LCC and he said it is because they can't run their Generator all the time. The street light is guaranteed when there is light from phcn.
So why are we paying toll fee Sometimes I don't see people crossing the road at night it is when am already very close to them I see.

Secondly, I don't know why we humans take peoples live for granted, when approaching major bus stops like Agungi, Igboefon and so on why don't you slow down when you drive?

Even when they see people crossing the road, they maintain the top speed at which they were driving not caring if they smash the person or not. A lot of people miscalculate how fast a car can move and before you say jack, the car far away before is already close to them.


Then thirdly, I also want to blame the pedestrians, how can you be strolling, making shakara esp guys when crossing such an expressway?
Sometimes just a second separates the guy crossing from the moving car. What if you stumble a bit or miss your step somehow, then you get knocked down.

Most of the accident victims are guys, they are never patient to wait for the road to be clear before jumping in it. A lady can spend up to 10min making sure its safe.

The most painful of all is when this accident occur people leave the victim to struggle and die on his own, instead of calling the toll free LCC emergency number, they gather the victim, taking picture of him and holding their head.

The past 29/30 days have taught many of us how a prudent low income salary earner manages his meagre salary and tries to stay debt-free for the month.

In the cause of upholding one of the 5 tenets of Islam, we all have managed to deprive ourselves certain comforts to get closer to our God and still went about our businesses without one hindering the other. In other words, the 24 hours most of us complained not enough to combine business and prayer have been more than enough even to add some supplications.

However, this could not have been possible without self discipline and determination. A low income salary earner would always complain about his ridiculous remuneration if the token is not properly planned upon at least, pending the time he gets a better offer.

Ramadan on the other hand, has served has a template upon which a believing muslim should draw a schedule of engagement with his creator and still go about his normal business without the two clashing. During Ramadhan, I saw bank tellers leaving the counter for congregation prayers and yet, they were not fired and the reason is that we've portrayed ramadhan to be the only period God answers our prayers as muslim.

Ramadhan has come and about to go, five daily prayers still remain, alms giving is still an act of Ibbada, supplication through nawafil still remains, weekly fasting (tatawah) still remains, good deeds are not going with ramadhan, immodest dressing isn't only 'unramadhanic' but also unislamic, Allah frowns at violence, back bitting and taking advantage of the feeble are still sinful acts before God. Let us utilize every minute of our lives to get closer to our God after ramadhan because, only Him knows those who would witness the next one...Eid-ul-mubaraq in advance!

• The odour of the mouth of a fasting person is sweeter to Allah than the fragrance of musk.
• The Prophet (Pbuh) said, the sleep of a fasting person is Ibadat and his silence is Tasbeeh (recitation of Subhan Allah).
• Fasting is a shield as long as the fasting person does not rupture it with lies and back-biting.
• Saum and the Quran will intercede on behalf of the servant of Allah. Saum will say ‘My Rabb! I forbade him from sleep at night and desires during the day, therefore, accept my intercession on his behalf.’ The Quran will say: ‘I forbade him from sleep at night, therefore accept my intercession on his behalf.’ Thus, their intercession will be accepted.
Who should Fast?
Fasting during Ramadan is compulsory for every Muslim, male or female, who meets the following requirements:
• Is mentally and physically fit i.e., sane and able.
• Has attained the age of puberty and discretion, which is normally about 14 years.
• Is present at their permanent settlement, hometown, farm or business premises etc.
• Is fairly certain that the fasting is unlikely to cause any harm, physical or mental other than the normal reactions to hunger, thirst etc.
What is Sahri or Suhoor?
• Sahri is the act of arising from sleep during the course of the night to partake of some food or drink in anticipation of the next day’s fasting.
• Sahri is Sunnat regardless of whether one feels like eating anything or not. One should rise and eat even a date or two or merely take a gulp of water.
• It is of greater merit to delay Sahri. But it should not be delayed so much that Subah Sadiq has almost set in, causing doubt in the validity of the fast.
• It is not permissible to forgo a fast because of failure to wake up during the night for Sahri.
• If Sahri was missed if one has overslept, one should not forgo fasting. It is not permissible to refrain from Saum because of having missed Sahri.
What is Iftar?
• It is important to hasten with Iftar (breaking the fast) as soon as the sun has set.
• Iftar should be made before the Maghrib Salat.
• The Muezzin should have his Iftar before proclaiming the Azaan.
• At the time of Iftar, it is Sunnat to recite the following dua:
“O Allah! I have fasted for you. I believe in you.
I have trust in you and I make Iftar with the rizaq (food) provided by you.”
• Iftar should preferably be made with dates. In the absence of dates, water is best.
• It is Makrooh to have Iftar when in doubt regarding sunset.
• If it is overcast, Iftar should be delayed until there is absolute certainty that the sun has set.
• If Iftar is made even a minute before sunset, Qadha of the fast is incumbent. It is Makrooh to unnecessarily delay Iftar.
• The time of Iftar is very auspicious. Dua is readily accepted at the time when the fast is about to end.
What Makes the Fast Valid?









THINGS WHICH DO NOT BREAK THE FAST:

• The using of Miswak
• To take bath during the day or to pour water, over the head due to the summer heat.
• To smell perfume.
• To apply Surma (Kohl) in the eyes, or oil to the hair.
• To eat or drink in forgetfulness.
• To inhale a fly or smoke or dust without one’s will or intention.
• To pour water into the ear unintentionally.
• To swallow saliva or phlegm.
• To gargle or take water in the nose, while performing ablution (Wudu), but care should be taken that no part of water enters the throat.
• Blood tests during illness.





THINGS WHICH BREAK THE FAST:

• Sexual intercourse even if there is no emergence of semen.
• Smoking.
• Inhaling smoke by one’s own action, e.g. inhaling the smoke of incense, etc.
• Swallowing any substance or object which is not normally consumed as food or medicine, e.g. pebbles, paper, a coin, etc.
• Saliva mingled with blood will break the fast if the taste of blood is discernible when swallowing it.
• Eating deliberately. (Eating by mistake does not break the fast).
• Deliberately inducing oneself to vomit will break the fast if the vomit is mouthful. If the emergence of the vomit cannot be restrained, the vomit will be said to be a mouthful.
• A food particle, the size of a chana (about the size of half a pea) stuck in the teeth slips down the throat.
• Masturbation. In addition to it nullifying the Saum, it is an immoral and a sinful act.
• Ejaculation as a result of caressing and handling the wife even if there was no sexual intercourse.
Kaffarah, Qadha Saum and Fidyah
• A fast of Ramadan broken deliberately without valid reason, after having made the Niyyat for fasting during the night, brings about the penalty of Kaffarah.
• A traveller is permitted to refrain from Saum, although it is meritorious for him/her to fast, if the journey is not a difficult one. The traveller shall make Qadha of all Saum omitted during the journey.
• If a woman starts menstruating during the course of the fasting day, the fast is not valid. It is not incumbent to abstain from eating during the remaining part of the day. Preferably, it is better to avoid eating in the presence of those who are fasting. She can compensate for her missed fasts later after Ramadan.
• When a pregnant woman has a genuine fear for either her own life or the life of the child she is bearing, it will be permissible for her to refrain from Saum. She will have to make Qadha of the Saum she misses as a result.
• A very old person who is truly unable to fast, is permitted to refrain from Saum. He has to offer compensation by means of paying the Fidyah.
Qadha Saum
Qadha means to fulfill or to compensate for fasts which are not executed when they were due.
• It is necessary to make Qadha of Saum as soon as possible since one does not know when death will overtake one. While it is not Wajib to make the Qadha immediately after Ramadan or on any other specific day, Qadha should not be unnecessarily delayed.
• For the validity of Qadha Saum, it is essential to make Niyyat during the night, i.e. before Subah Sadiq.
• Saum omitted on account of menses has to be made Qadha.
• It is not obligatory to keep the Qadha Saum all at once (consecutively). The Qadha Saum may be spread over a period or they may be kept consecutively.
• If by the time death approaches, the Qadha has not yet been discharged, it will then be obligatory to make a bequest for payment of Fidyah.
• Similarly, if due to old age or sickness one is unable to fast and the Qadha has not yet been executed, wasiyyat to pay Fidyah will be wajib(obligatory).
Kaffarah of Ramadan
• Kaffarah (compensation) is the penalty which is imposed by Shariah for the deliberate and flagrant nullification of the Saum of Ramadan.
• Kaffarah applies to only the Saum of Ramadan.
• Kaffarah comes into force only if the Niyyat for fasting was made at night, i.e. before Subah Sadiq. Thus, if Niyyat was made during the night to fast the following day, and then the fast is broken without valid reason, the Kaffarah penalty comes into effect.
• Kaffarah for flagrantly breaking a fast of Ramadan is to fast 60 consecutive days- sixty days, one after the other, without missing any day in between.
• The Kaffarah will be rendered invalid if for any reason- be it a valid reason, even a single day is omitted during the 60 day-Kaffarah course. Thus if a person fasted for 59 days and failed to fast on the 60th day due to illness, he will have to start the Kaffarah all over again. The only interruption which will not invalidate the Kaffarah is the monthly menses of women.
• A person who is unable to discharge the Kaffarah because of ill-health or very old age, will have to feed 60 poor persons. Each miskeen (poor) should be given two full meals for the day or the amount in cash which is given as Sadaqah Fitr. This amount is the price of approximately 2 kilograms bread flour. Instead of the cash, the flour may also be given.
• A single Ramadan, makes Wajib only one Kaffarah irrespective of the number of fasts flagrantly broken during that Ramadan
• If fasts were flagrantly nullified in more than one Ramadan, the number of Kaffarah will be equal to the number of Ramadans. So if fasts were flagrantly broken in three different Ramadans, three different Kaffarah will be obligatory
