Buy some now and be ready to buy more when prices go lower. If you plan to be in it for the long run, 50 kobo here and there is not going to make that much of a difference.

I bought some UCAP at 5.5, some at 8, some at 14, as long as you have the discipline to continue to buy when prices fall, you’ll do just fine in the long run.

If you are comfortable with dividend that is less than 3% from MTN, then you can go and grab your cake.

MTN’s current yield is approximately 6% and not 3%.

So because of what is happening in the country is the reason why a property should sell for N100 million in Ikoyi or FBN should have a market cap of less than N700 billion, or a Zenith Bank should have a market cap roughly N1 Trillion or approximately $1.2 billion.

GT and Zenith valued at around $1.2 billion or less is really ludicrous when you think about it! Not with the kind of profits they print, their brand name alone is worth around $500m imo!

The currency situation in the country is only favoring export oriented companies( i work in one) as export demand has increased but this is being counterbalanced by a sharp decrease in domestic demand........
All in All, I see the euphoria in the market as a way of letting heavyweights cash out......

The problem here is that most of you are too scared of seeing prices go up than coming down. Most of the stocks are grossly undervalued hence the need for repricing. Although, from a technical perspective, they are due for a 50 to 60% correction as most of them are already trading in overbought zone. That is why people should avoid FUGAZ and other stocks in this range for now and wait for them to pull back before entering rather than chase and get slaughtered. My one cent..

Holding certain stocks that one likes can affect one's rational thinking, especially when one receives regular dividends from them.

For example, I bought 85,000 units of Zenith Bank at 22 naira and held onto them for a while, and the price went up to 30 naira. With a system to detect when a stock is overbought or ripe for a correction, the smart thing to do would be to sell and buy back later after the correction. Just selling at 30 naira and buying back at 27 naira, would have increased the holding from 85,000 units to 92,500 units without adding any new money.

Someone like me, who has developed cavities from the sweetness of dividends, would be happy to receive even more dividends in return.

The point is that holding a stock indefinitely may not be the best strategy, especially if one can spot a correction coming.

Don't forget that most of the people here throwing tantrums like little kids are only doing that because they sold their stocks just before markdown, because they were so SURE prices will come down after markdown. You and I know how the story unfolded after that.

No one knows for sure what direction the market will go.

They come here to preach how they consistently time the market to perfection every time without proof.

Slow and steady wins this race, I have been replenishing my savings in this euphoria, patiently waiting for that pullback or generational low.
