RabbiDoracle: In my opinion, this will not have effect on NSE except when the global depression hits the oil producers and cause oil prices to collapse.
Banks will breakout rapidly and catch many unawares.
As for US stocks and Indexes, they still have a long way to fall. Portfolios will be blown over there and people will understand that everything that rises so rapidly must fall later.
Commodities like oil still have further rise to make. And that will be aggressive. This fall in oil is a move to prepare for the next leg higher. My $220 forecast for Brent still stands.
At a point, dollar will have severe devaluation. Since Fed has continued to tighten and raise rates to make dollar stronger and weaken other EM currencies, China will continue to tighten supply to ensure that they don't get cheaper goods with their strong dollar. That way, the little goods avaible in the West will have severe price increases as we see now. Higher prices, higher energy cost, higher interest rates on the those with loans and squeeze on available income will soon lead to protest in the West as cost of living crisis bites.
Fed strengthens the dollar hoping that they get cheaper goods from producers and hoping that this attracts funds into the US, but the reverse could happen where instead an outflow of funds from the West and you get no goods at all from China (due to their frequent lockdowns). That way all the money printed will remain with the West with no one wanting it.
Many countries in EMs and FMs will feel the bite.... Sri Lanka, El Salvador, Ghana, Pakistan etc. Soon the developed ones (weaker ones in EU) will also start to crumble. And their's could be worst. Hailing bros, I like reading your write up and thesis but it appears you have something against the USA. While I agree with most of your take, I think devaluation of the $$ will help most Americans because this current tightening is dealing with Americans….. Keep up the good work |

STOjo: . Why are you in a hurry. It is not enough to sokale but the challenge is which bus are you entering next. For me, the idea is "don't sell your winning stock" I held SEPLAT for a year. Main reason for selling is the current yield. I can get better yield from other options at the moment. And the other options look like they have better upside than SEPLAT. Example is UCAP, forward yield is around 15% (no guarantees but a reasonable estimate). |

Dum20: Thank you for the feedback.
But you can actually see transaction history of all your buy and sell, purchase or sell price, quantity purchased or sold, date of purchase, price bought or sold.
That is why it is CSCS( Central Securities Clearing System) they clear all trades on the NSE and keep the records.
That is why when we go to our brokers, the print our CSCS statements for us.
I decided to renew mine and I could see all my trade history for some of my stocks and could not see for the others.
I wonder if anyone has had that experience. I bet the ones you're not able to view are purchases/sales you made before the companies that transitioned to Holding Cos. Since GT transitioned, all history prior to the transition vanished, and till today this has not been fixed and will probably never be fixed. |

Being as conservative as possible, is it safe to pin UCAP's Forward yield(2022) at N2?
Question is for research purpose.

gbengafaro1986: im ok with this GTCO/ Zenith Sub 23 entry price.....so im packing it, to the elders in the house, anything i should know before i spend all my money?? If you're ok with locking in 13.5% in dividends, then lock in with Zenith right. Personally, I am ok with 11-13% from Zenith/GT. If it goes lower after my purchase, that will motivate me to buy more to lock in even higher rate of return. |

GANDALF1: The Nigerian leaders always know the right thing to do in other to move the country forward, but they will never do it because they will lose the gains of the rot they are presently enjoying.
Tell me why a bank will have to submit its result to CBN for vetting and approval, before its release to the public?
Also, why must company results be submitted to SEC for publishing on its disclosures website?
If you think the banks are flouting rules in their financial reporting, why not set up hefty fines and sanctions, and punish them when they are found guilty of manipulating results?
The reason is simple!
CBN wants their cut from the largesse. SEC also wants their cut too
Now, a bank sends in results. CBN staff "vets" it and sees the result before everyone, and then if the result is fantastic what happens? The staff gets some for their self, informs friendly colleagues in other departments to do same, notifies their family members to do same, church or mosque members, et al.
And when they get their fill, they forward same result to SEC to repeat the same process, before the result is published on the disclosures website. Effect: Huge short-term trades before and after the release of results that profits individuals who never invested in the company whereas there are people who invested their money in the companies for long term and whose value is being depreciated.
How it should be: First, companies should have a direct access to the NGX disclosures website and should upload disclosures directly from their investor relations or corporate office. No other eye should see disclosures before the public apart from the directors of the company, who also should be monitored for insider trades from time to time.
Finally, banks should upload their disclosures and results directly to the NGX disclosures site after audit or release. CBN should investigate and vet the results after release for discrepancies. If any discrepancy is found, then the bank should be fined heavily and the directors sanctioned appropriately.
BUT... will this be implemented? Oga at the top no go gree because money go commot from him table
Bad condition!!! Very well put. The only person missing from this list is the bros/madam that uploads these results. Looks like they take another 24 hrs before uploading. Corruption and thieving in every aspect of this archaic process |

owolabi5: Is this not a criminal offence?
Even in advanced climes? Maybe it is, maybe it’s not, I don’t know. What I do know is this, companies have leaked their own financials when they weren’t supposed to. I saw Intel do it like a year ago via twitter. Google’s acquisition of Fitbit leaked weeks, if not months in advance. These are just the ones I remember but these things happen frequently on wall street. |

Na so Nigeria tight with information? No one has any leak/rumor about earnings, dividends or M&A? Even for America, leaks/rumors happen in advance, but for this country everybody/everywhere just dey on code!!
Leaks/Rumors is part of the world market but based on my 3 years of observation so far, leaks/rumors almost never happen on the NSE.
Nothing is known until that person in charge of uploads on NGX website shows up to work lol. |
