Invictus was caught cause he used his main email as backup email to the email he uses to scam which was traced to the comments he made here on Nairaland where he gave out that same email address. Remember that Hushpuppy has been on this for years and was only started getting trailed just about 4 months ago. Would he have been caught even if he was underground?? Ade3131: Having read your post I feel it will be nice I say well-done to you. I wish this Hushpuppy's case and more like it will awaken the Nigerian state to the tickling time bomb OBJ has always cried about but ironically couldn't do anything about while in power. A country where a large chunk of the population is not gainfully employed, and are youths is surely sitting on a gunpowder.
Hush is just one out of the many Yahoo boiz we know. There's virtually no single Nigerian living in the city within age 18 to 40 who doesn't know a Yahoo boy or knows someone who knows a Yahoo boy. The statistics is alarming if you consider the numbers yet they're celebrated or spoken highly about due to the decadence in the system. Even worse is the fact that some parents scold their legitimate hardworking children who are struggling with the ups and downs of life just because the son of a neighbor down the street is driving flashy cars without any traceable source of wealth.
I pray the Nigerian youth could wake up to the most fundamental ask of a citizen - question your leaders and demand good leadership. Africans at large lags in this regard. It's hard to see where that's going to come from considering how divided we are as a people. Nigeria keeps churning out graduates year in year out without any tangible plan to absorb them into the workforce of the economy. How then will fraud and crime not thrive in such a society?
You see money-miss-road politicians who before venturing into politics had nothing to offer the economy, flaunting their overnight riches and you begin to wonder if an average Nigerian is okay in the head. Politics is so lucrative here that the country would borrow to fund budgets while our political class continue to be one of the best paid public office holders in the world.
Until we start demanding and pushing for good governance, unemployed and underemployed Nigerian youths will continue to consider crime as an alternative route to breaking the chain of poverty in their lineage. There has evidently been a large explosion of Yahoo activities over the last 5 years or so and this is as a result of decades of mismanagement and bad governance and sadly Hushpuppy's arrest does little to nothing as a deterrent to people already in it or those looking to join.It already encourages it more cause now Yahoo guys will now learn to keep a low profile. I don't even want to start with the whole unemployment talk but look at Opay for example who packed up from Nigeria recently.Imagine the thousands of of direct/indirect jobs that is throwing into the streets all because of bad govt policies. How then do you encourage a group of young individuals to enter into the market as start ups when all govt policies are geared to shut them down from the get go. The truth is that Wire fraud is here to stay cause it's fast becoming part of the Nigerian culture |

If not he could have left yahoo years back. Clean up his tracks and enter legit hustle. But it's easier said than done. Nah,he wasn't careful. For him to get away with it for years means a real professional hacker was behind the scenes doing his job correctly by cleaning his trails. He probably had that at the back of his mind and that's what gave him the heart to be showing his face on SM cause no way was his face going to be pinned on those loots. Martinez39s: By all common sense and logic, the guy has nothing to worry about. However, some of laws over there are not based of morality, fairness, and logic.
According to crazy law over there, sleeping with a drunk woman is equivalent to rape even if both of you were drunk. On the flip side, a woman, drunk or not, sleeping with a drunk man isn't rape. For some weird reasons, they believe a drunk man should be held accountable for his actions while a drunk woman shouldn't. They also presume, for females only, that consent cannot be given when drunk.
When the simp Dr. Olufunmilayo released his statement that both were drunk and had sex, I knew that he dug a deep hole for himself. Not only is he a simp, he is utterly fòolish. Charging her for damages with a legal document will likely not do śhit. Ask those who signed prenup. When the idiot Dr. was running his mouth against men who were falsely accused of rape, he gave them no chance of redemption.
The girl should take the case to court in the UK, since he gave her wine before sex.
The dunce must pay for his stupidity.
And for all you guys here on nairaland supporting women who falsely accuse men of rape, may you suffer the same fate SIMPS think just because they defend women when they cry wolf, that they will look good before them. See the rubbish he wrote down all to sound politically correct and appear like a good man. Dude probably has never been laid prior to the whole thing cause any guy that gets pussy all the time knows you can have sex in any situation so far as the woman consciously accepts. He thinks it's by going to the courts. The girl holds all the cards here with the society and law being in her favor whether she's right or not and the idiot has everything to lose but he thinks some stupid explanation and threat is what will save him. By the time he comes out of all this,he will think twice before posting anything on his handle again |

genq: In contrary, I believe this was the other way round bro.
A typical Nigerian girl would wanna lock down a successful, popular man and on paper, Dr Olufunmilayo is a doctor, a twitter influencer and quite popular on social media... I remember when he was showing off his mortgage-bought house sometime last year .. so yeah, which girl wouldn't be on her best behaviour after such a guy has sponsored her abroad.
However, we can see in this case that the girl didn't really wanna sleep with dude. She even had to be drunk the first time round just to get wet! Second time seems to be like a consolation gift to the beta simp doctor to show appreciation for "housing" her - or perhaps he forced or threatened her to release that punni since he's been feeding her and she had no choice but to comply.
There's something repulsive about the said doctor which is why he can't seem to hold a chick down despite his "achievements". I was looking for who will say this. Dude is your typical lonely simp that is intelligent but lack real life social skills. It's quite obvious he's a virgin or he probably has never had a gf before. A simp who can't effectively hold one on one communication with a woman that's why he spends all day on Twitter defending women thinking that's how he will finally get the cookie. He manages to pull this chick who is looking for a come up. A Dr,has a good job,a house and live comfortably well. The dream of every Nigerian woman and by extension females around the world. He realises her game plan and decided to cut it off. Instead of kicking the biitch to the curb,he continues to play the good guy by housing her, feeding her, etc. When the girl realises she had lost out, there was no way she would've tasted that lifestyle and let it go. That's what brought about this whole nonsense. |

Crime › Re: Hushpuppi And Woodberry Extradited To US by Adiwana: 7:59pm On Jul 02, 2020 |
jjman2322: So much misinformation here, let me help you guys out a bit..
I'm well versed with USA criminal justice system.. So they're going to be indicted for a FEDERAL CRIME( federal prisons dont have parole.. you serve 85% of time for good behavior..) , so if you get sentenced to 20 years(240 months, as fed prisons are on months) , you have to serve 204 months, (which is around 17+ years)
So here's the problem.. The FBI win pretty much all their cases.. Before they arrested/extradited him they would have had mountains of evidence (money trail, money hitting his account, email and phone records, etc)
based on the amount of his fraud, here's what will happen.. The FBI will tell him to take a plea deal and get maybe 20 years in prison, or he can go to trial and if he loses he WILL GET 40 years.. thats how they get 99% of people to plead guilty..
FBI isnt EFCC or even state police in USA.. they ONLY INDICT/PROSECUTE If they are very sure they can win the case. If they don't have good evidence they will just let the guy go..
invictus Obi just pleaded guilty and he will be sentenced later this year.. He didnt even bother going to trial as he will lose.
Remember the FBI use their powers and get records from your banks, phones, emails, etc.. so they have ALL of hush puppi's account details, money in and out, his email/text records, his email records.. You cant hide from the government if they want you..
My prediction: HUSH will get a lawyer, plead guilty, and if hes lucky maybe he will get 15 years+.. Hes done... For people saying he will be rich when he comes out.. No he won't be.. The FBI will get a forfeiture order and collect every single naira, dollar, asset he has, not only that but any losses he caused companies he will be made to pay restitution for the rest of his life (even when he comes out of prison)
The problem is lets assume he stole $10M, but he has already spent $5m.. How does he now get the $5m to pay back everyone he stole from? He cant...
To make it worse, during his sentencing report i will assume many victims and companies will testify against him and force the judge to hand him a harsh sentence.. Like i said, i'll bet my money on 20 years.. He's case is even more complicated. Institutionalized racism is a very big problem there and is also a very big factor in determining how this sentencing are done. That's why a black man is getting 2yrs+ for selling weed. Now being a black man from Africa beating the system and scamming over 1million Americans is not a joke. Touching an American is a terrorist act in their eyes not to talk about over a million of them plus the pressure that will come from the American cooperations he defrauded for the judge to throw the book at him. I don't think anybody knows the gravity of the offense that guy made and America will make an example of him. He's finished |

ogbonti: shorrop there - what is exactly your point? that Hushpuppi will be glorified and given 21 gun salute on arrival in the US abi? email compromise and phishing sites is what American government and most entry level web developer IT kids know about in the US and every trick in it is not something new - the people that were defrauded were not careful enough in following useful tips offered on how to avoid phishing sites and all that (one of such is ensuring you transact financial business on websites with the SSL (secured socket layer) certificates - and watch out for commonsensical pitfalls like if you are banking with JP Morgan Chase for instance - and for some weird reasons you are redirected to a website that has the Chase logo but the web site address shows JPChaase - if you are careful you will see that the fake site comes with aa instead of just a - AND you will be surprised how many people do not even notice that before they put their banking details in it - So there is nothing to learn from Hushpuppi Sir
Hushpuppi is NOT a genius and stop glorifying criminality on nairaland with probably stolen data
let me ask you , WHO MADE COMPUTERS AND CREATED THE INTERNET ? I guess you do not know it is the US - However, that does not mean all her citizens are meticulous enough to spot fraud on the fly.
That dude will be tried 2 years from today - sentenced to 80 years imprisonment and when it is 3 months to his release date - (that is if he lives long enough to see the next 40 years - he will just "commit suicide in prison" - I hope you know what that means - Hushpuppi wont see freedom ever again in his life - you can take that to the bank - GO READ ABOUT BERNIE MADOFF - He is a white man - an American born investment banker turned Ponzi Scheme master - he is in jail for 150 years - they did not recruit him to work for the FBI na yeye Hushpuppi dem wan recruit
Americans don't play with their money - and being a black man from naija- he will be given the legal George Floyd treatment by the Judiciary!
You forget he is a fvcking Nigg gggur Truth is that even seasoned hackers do fall for phishing. It's a human psychology thing and not necessarily about who invented the internet. The use of SSL certificates for transactions is nothing exceptional. I can clone an SSL certificate of any websites in minutes using a framework called Metasploit if you familiar with penetesting. Again,I can easily clone a website that uses the same source code as the original website with the only exception being that a redirect to the cloned website. So any hacker/programmer that tries reading the page's source code will still see the same thing as the original except what I have mentioned before. A website that contains "l(L)" letter on its web address for example can easily be replaced by capital I and anybody reading the address bar will think it's a legit website. There are a lot of scenarios that can be done for this. In all, what I am trying to point out is that anybody can fall for any effective phishing campaign even for those that created computers |

Since Griezmann is not fitting into this team for whatever reason,I think we should sell him and bring in Neymar. Sell Arthur and for the love of God,play Coutinho/Puig in the middle of the pack with De Jong and Busquet.Bring in Rodri of Man City to slowly take things over from Busquet. Gilmour of Chelsea is another young kid that'll fit very well into our system and has the system to grow at Barca than Chelsea and snatching him up before he hits 20 could be a long term investment. Start thinking La Masia. We can easily have a very good balance of Experience and youth coming up to shape things up |

jpmoriarti: Arthur was awful during the game. He should sit on the bench until he learns how to be a midfielder that offers visions and promises with his ball circulation. Puig didn't have to do much to be an upgrade Yeah,he had a bad game tbh but we are clearly lacking options. This are critical times and unless Puig is ready to put in the same performance as tonight for complete 90 minutes, then I think it's better he comes in to give us that extra kick. This would make Arthur sit up and realise that he has competition to put in something better. Another player that should be starting is Braith. Dude has proven so far that he's energetic and shows hunger on the ball. Everything is not about having world class players. At times this kind of players are needed to complement the team |

kodded: Barcelona don't need any coach, what Barcelona need is a world class LW like Neymar that can single handledy win you games on his own.
check today game, apart from messi, every other players look average when they are with the ball around the box 18
griezman for example was average again because Messi occupied his favourite position to shoot from outside the box
Suarez on the other hand has passed his prime, his shot is no longer deadly from outside the box and neither is his passing accuracy that suberp
arthur, semendo, Alba, bosquet, Vidal are all average when with the ball withing the box 18, this is because their shots are not threatening neither is their vision for passing great
coincidentally the only midfielder that has attempted more shot on target from outside the box is rakitic, this is because of his long short accuracy ability, that's why you see him getting to the scoring sheet more than any other midfielder in the team.
this is not a rocket science, when a player poses more threat from outside the box, the rest of the team will always pass the ball to him, because the other players in the team don't poses such ability.
if Barca can bring back Neymar or someone that is really comfortable playing from the LW, you will start seeing less of 'pass to Messi', because other players will be passing the ball more to the other attacking threat rather than Messi.
finally, I want you to ask yourself why did 'pass to Messi' begin as soon as Neymar left us I am a big fan of bringing back Neymar but that isn't what will solve our problems. Look at Fati. He plays highly identical like Neymar with his Neymar-esque movements. He has shown so far that he can step into those shoes. He's not afraid to take on defenders and shoots when he gets the chance.Just needs the right mentor like Neymar himself to be able to be a beast. Our problems is a structural one that needs to be sorted out. Bad decisions are continuously made at the clubs hierarchy which is affecting us on the field of play. From the bad transfers to media scandals to pass to Messi rubbish which came from Valverde which is what is starting to look like a norm. We need Bart and his gang out of the club so new ideas on how to move on from Messi can be established. Messi should be mentoring Fati and La Masia at this age not carrying this football club |

jpmoriarti: Puig was the man of the match for me. He was the only one who was able to bring the incisiveness Barcelona badly needed. Easily the best midfielder on the show.
We'll see what happens next game, if the coach will still keep him away from the starting line up I don't think he should start next game. Should be Busquet,Rakitic,Arthur. Then he and Vidal can enter the game to provide those energy needed to get these goals. Same with Fati. We are really low on rythm and this kind of players are ones that should be brought in to change games |

I will take this 3 points any time any day.Not the prettiest of wins but at this point we need results not some world class performances
Key Takeaways
Whoever thought about selling Semedo is very stupid.Dude was great making those forward runs and was really fantastic on the day. We really need Marina of Chelsea as she knows how to make real transfer decisions. Abidal maybe a club legend but being our sporting directories something that doesn't fit him well.
Messi lacked a little bit of match sharpness. Was still OK based on his standards. Fati/Puig and La Masia is the future. We should think to our academy and stop wasting funds buying players.
Arthur was really poor.Vidal was poor but improved greatly in the last 30 minutes.Rakitic continued his improvements.
Lastly,we needa coach that knows what he's doing. This game needed Griezmann and Suarez not starting the 2nd half with Braith and Fati starting in the 2nd half. We needed more energy and that what got us the 3 points |
