eeeeh; for the first time, the Nigerian Police impressed me; believe you me, if it had happened in Lagos, the police will make much money by arresting everyone at sight, the community, the traditional rulers, the teachers of the pupils etc.

Culture / Re: Crazy But True Facts About Culture by aduje(m): 6:25pm On Jul 15, 2013
remecy: Culture is a way of life for different people and as such what is good for the goose in your culture might not be good for same goose in mine.
What is the craziest fetish but true fact you have ever seen or heard about a culture, people or state, within or outside Nigeria......
1) in Delta, if you kill a monitor lizard, you bury just like you bury human being.
2) in Edo, Owan, if a woman cheats on her hubby and he is aware and still sleeps with her or shred uses her boyfriend money cook for him,the hubby will die and her children falls sick.
Lets hear yours............

In Delta state, there over 11 minor ethnic groups with varying cultures... I know that some part of Ndokwa i.e. Kwale (Ukwu Ani) They treat a particular part of snake with high respect. They (their core traditional people) sing her praise, spread white chalk, throw cowries to it and call her their mother. Also, they conduct a proper burial if such snake dies. If it is killed by mistake, they do some sacrifices to appease the gods.

The proper Asaba people forbid 'Ogbono soup' As a matter of fact, it is an abormination to sell Ogbono seed in their Ogbogonogo market.

The Ika (Agbor and Owa) people run after gian rat -(Big Domestic ones like you see in Lagos), for pepper soup. They can do anything to kill such rats. Ironically, Agbor people hunt and kill for delicacy, the same snake the Ukwu Ani people forbid to eat and treat like their mummy.

@OP Which one is Monitor Lizard...I need some education here!

During the cause of growing up and by the nature of my dad's work, I have been to most major towns in Delta State.

Celebrities / Re: Goldie's Husband Denied Nigerian Visa To Attend Her Funeral by aduje(m): 5:06pm On Feb 22, 2013
boron10: So Nigeria embassy can actually deny someone visa? Like seriously, does this man require a visa before visiting naija? With the degree of our border's porosity, i believe the most sensible thing he should have done is to apply for Niger rep, benin rep or cameroun visa. And then take a bus from any of these countries to wherever he wants to go in nigeria.

He does not even need a passport to come here. Naija is the easiest country in the world to visit.

I suspect the Visa Denial is for the safety of Mr Harvey; My reasons

(1) He has an embattled relationship with one Madam Ifeoma ( a Nigerian ) who is now crying that Goldie snatched her husband (though) she has remained silence until the death of Goldie.
(2) Prezzi to me appears to be a man with drug related issues (my personal opinion please) and being an entertainment celebrity, he will find his way into the country and his presence to me may further endanger the life of Mr Harvey

I think Goldie's family has some faults in these controversy: My question; why didn't they (Goldie's) family react and make statements when it was on news that Prezzi is getting married to their daughter? How come ordinary Nigerians (like me) never heard of Goldie being married until he died. Mr Harvey claimed that the marriage is about 8 years old. Another unconfirmed source said that Goldie's residence in Parkview - Ikoyi was originally rented by Mr Harvey before he even met late Goldie. I think the best thing is for the two rival husbands to stay in their country to avoid troubles. GOLDIE to me led a life full of controversies....talented though, non of her musics portray morals and culture (especially the videos). Let us always remember that we are Africans and very cultured. I think the Ekiti people will agree with me.

soye35: pls what biz can i start with 500k ? need genuine advice asap.

@OP, if you reside in Lagos or Ogun State, this can be of help to you. Locate a highly populated area of residents (usually local people) i.e. the face me I face you apartments stuff or developing (new areas) sites e.g. Mowe, Ibafon, Redemption Village, Inner Ikorodu, Ayobo, Sango, Ijoko, etc. Get a site where you can sell kerosene. You need the following for a start:

1. Steel or PVC drums = 250litres capacity x 4 = 1,000ltres for stock holding
2. Jerry cans of various sizes
3. Bottles of various sizes
4. Funnels
5. Chair or bench
6. You need to locate the nearest NUPENG unit so you can obtain sticker to avoid embarrassment
7. Carry out survey to know the prevailing price of kero in that area; (Note you need to understand various sizes of bottles and kegs. They have various names etc and their prices so you can bench mark.
8. Call on kerosene peddlers (by small tanker trucks) and get your supply.
9. With the kind of capital you have, you can pay them outrightly each time you place order until you gain their trust.
10. You can also add sale of lubricants (engine oil, spark plugs, etc) as your target market also use " I better pass my neigbour generators.
11. If you need further input; mail us at hextaenergy@gmail.com or sms to 08029965931
12. On your way to success.

Romance / Re: My Girlfriend Is So Boring by aduje(m): 1:27pm On Jan 10, 2013
pope732901: I've been with this girl for about six months. She is actually everything I looked for in a girl - gentle, lovely, igbo, intelligent, has a lovely diction, excellently dressed, neat, and rubs my back right.

But she is not fun to be with! She is intelligent, and gets very good grades at school.

But she does not say intelligent things! She only thinks about boring things, and has no interest in any half way intellectual discussion. Her favorite activity is just staying at home and lying in bed or watching Nollywood movies. I feel like we never really say or do anything worthwhile.

Also, we never do anything really fun together, because of her lethargy. I like doing things like running, jogging,  climbing, going through bars, visiting weird stuff, trying new things but with her, her lethargy just infects me and all I want to do is chill and watch TV.
@ Poster, if you truly love her and hope to marry her, she will be a great wife i suppose. All you need do is compliment her and teach her gradually. It may be that she grew up under a very disciplinarian parent or an academic who like subjecting children to indoor. You need to expose her, gradually take her to the peak of dating and outing. Get her to know a lot of social life and catching fun... going to cinemas, beaches, restaurants, comedy shows etc. I think is an introvert and a reserved one for that matter. My wife use to be like that before I got married to her. She never attended social events, games, etc. Someone counseled us and I started with going to eateries, shows, drinking places, fun centres and etc, I was the one who exposed her to so many attraction leisure centres across the country including flying in a commercial aircraft. The price is much, but it is worth it. Our marriage will be 9 years in April. She has become such a wonderful calm but bold personality.

And she is the type of person that wants me to always do things with her, she expects a boyfriend and girlfriend to always spend time together. Basically, she wants to be my best friend, but is not able to intellectually interest me like my usual friends do!

She is dependent, wants me to do everything in the relationship and when I ask her, all she tells me is that "You're the guy" and it just disgust me so much because I believe in two sided relationship whereby no one is to rely on the other to take a step first. If you're in the position to do anything in the relationship, just do what comes naturally and not wait for your partner.

It's a confusing situation, what could I do?

topeorekoy: Don Jazzy is being accused by a Lagos socialite Princewill Ojukwu of battery, oppression and dehumanization. Princewill alleges that he had a row with Don Jazzy at his newly opened club POP, which led to the latter ordering his thugs to beat "the life out of him."

Please note that the picture above was taken on January 7, 2013. Ojukwu still walks around in pains, cannot wear shoes and has constant migraine.

Don Jazzy sent an sms some days back apologising and asking for an account number to send money for the hospital bill, but Mr Ojukwu says;

'' Its not about the money, this could happen to anyone,it is abuse of power and needs to be checked before someone is killed all in the name of the other being a celebrity.Don Jazzy stood there pinging on his blackberry as his thugs beat me up,that is the last thing i remember before i fainted.it....''

afam4eva: If there's one thing I've noticed in life, it is that people always embrace things that will benefit them. With the infiltration of western culture into Nigeria, our ladies have been mostly receptive to this culture. They embrace it and even carry it into their search for a spouse. I've heard ladies say things like "I can't marry a traditional man". Meaning that, they don't want a man who's a stickler for African tradition. I think this is just because these ladies know that African culture does not favour them so, they'll rather marry someone who has a western outlook on life.

They want a man who won't require them to cook as a typical African woman will readily do.

They want a man that will give them the kind of freedom that they desire to do whatever they want? Ask Tonto Dike.

They want a man that won't rule over them as the head of the family. Infact they want someone they won't submit to.

Isn't it ironic that the same ladies will want advice young people that they should respect their elders because it's part of African culture.

You can see that these ladies use and dump African culture when it suits them.

Your post is in order but why Tonto Dike again. I AM REALLY IN LOVE WITH HERoooooooooo lolzllolzz
