Politics / Re: Hundeyin Replies Akpabio: Authorise MTN, Airtel To Release Voice Records by Aeg0n: 7:26pm On May 15, 2021
design106:
cool
Here's the thing. Authorizing the release of the voice notes will confirm 2 things.
1. That Network Providers actually record private call sessions between paying customers without their permission.
2. Make everyone realize that there's nothing like privacy when it comes to the network providers who we trust with our funds and data.

Maybe they're both the same thing but you get the point.
Look for the right and legal means to get your facts else you'll just be the same as the evil people who are fighting to keep this matter silenced.

Best of luck though.

While it is known to very few, all the activities carried out on your SIM are being logged from calls to texts and data but only the top executives have the clearance to it.
Yet, the privacy policy binds them to have access to it except it is crucial to an investigation and can only be released by the courts authorization.

Those in telecommunications would agree that even a mobile phone can be tracked using a cell tower (Mast)

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: How Did You Get Your First Remote Job? by Aeg0n: 5:47pm On May 14, 2021
SmartMugu:
I dont know how working remote from Nigeria really works. I guess most into it are freelancers. But I've been working remotely for over 6 years now and never had any reasons to go to any office.

Sometimes, while I'm in Nigeria I can still work remotely for the parent US firms I work for, and many folks I know here in the IT line are currently working from Nigeria and still get paid in USD. What's the point asking techy guys to come to the office? Thats outdated in this clime, especially with covid fright everywhere.

I think it all starts with choosing a niche within the IT space, for me. I focused on Cybersecurity. Mastered as many areas as I could and got certifications upon certifications added to my bachelor's and master's degrees and let my resume do the talking. It will work same way for anyone, just differentiate yourself from the rest.

You'll be surprised with how many calls for jobs you will get from all around the world and pick which ones u want to mess with. Some firms are even in dire needs of the strengths and smartness in most of us Nigerians and won't even mind relocating you and your family closer to them, as long as you've proven your worth to them.

I dont know if it depends on the companies you have worked for in the past though. For me, all my experiences are for US based firms, none at all in Nigeria. But if you can manage to get yourself into some of the major consulting firms with presence around the globe, like Delloitte, KPMG, E&Y, Accenture, Infosys etc, you're good. Thats how I started my consulting career and later decided to contract for firms than working directly for them as a FTE.

Even in cases where your physical presence is needed, these firms will be responsible to get you there, wherever it is in the world. Got tired of that.I prefer those that are entirely remote since I contract now and have decided to cut down on travels.

So, around IT, you can't be wrong with areas like Cybersecurity, Business Intelligence, Data Analysis, Machine learning, Software Engineering /Design, Cloud Computing/Networking/Security etc. There's a huge array of lines for those in other IT areas like programming,, web designs, digital marketing etc.. im just talking about the areas Im familiar with.

Dont jump around, just stick with one area and carve a career around it. Its a common mistake for many to want to include as many unrelated skills on their resume, its wrong. Your resume should tell your audience a story about you, not get them confused about who you really are. Don't let them feel you were a farmer last year, a plumber last month and a tailor today. Choose where ur strengths are and focus on improving on it, highlight your strengths on your resume, then make your resume your tool. One of these areas can keep you employed from your home right there in Nigeria with firms from around the world.

My 2 cents. Goodluck all.

The senate will need a budget of #1.243 billion to create a new email address reason being that the address, which was earlier provided has been destroyed.
Inotherwords, the senate will constitute an "email handling" committee to review the reason the older address was destroyed,on how to go about creating the new email address and also oversee that the funds are released by the Fed Govt for this course.

HitlerGaddafi:
I'm not trying to be a religious bigot but I don't understand why these Muslims derive joy in make life difficult and frustrating for people. This jamb board was once the VC of unilorin and back then, he always found joy in people's sorrow.

Why should you make nin compulsory before registering these kids for jamb? Why make life so difficult for them all because they are trying to sit for an exam to pursue a career?

Just as I'm against the hardship people go through to get it, enforcing it on jamb applicants is just the best way to allow most people to go for it. This is Nigeria and we all know majority of us are very lackadaisical when it comes to anything invoking the government. The adults have somehow think they've escaped it and have no reason to go for it until that time will come. If these young adults don't have it now, chances are they wouldn't want to register later. This man was going to use it in the previous year(s) but cancelled it to give people enough time to register but as a typical Nigerian, they won't until the deadline.

By the way, this NIN has been on as far back as I remember. My first attempt to register was 2014. We all need it and sooner or later, we all are going to realize that. Just the useless government making the whole thing regarding this country a joke

Throwback:
I like this focused truth if indeed he will not deny it later.

Buhari is a physically and mentally lazy President who is content on being finally able to attain the civilian presidency he so much sought after.

He never should have sought reelection knowing he lacked the capacity to do his job based on his own experience during his 1st term.

On the day of the inauguration of the National Assembly in June 2015, he slept while APC legislators were waiting on him at the scheduled meeting to discuss the party position on the preferred candidates, allowing the useless PDP of the 16years of failure infamy and a crooked Saraki to take hold of the Senate.

He has been sleeping ever since.

1. To start with, JB is a Nigerian company regardless of who is leading the company or not.

2. Most of their engineers are Nigerians, we see them on site all over the place and , construction workers are support staff are all Nigerians.

3. JB not only employ over 13,000 Nigerians, they also offere schorlaship and internship that you yourself can apply so, what is the meaning of your false and disingenouse rouse about Human capital?

Is your new bogus argument and the reason why we should not build hospitals and heatlhcare infrastructure is because of human capital at JB even though nearly all the JB construction workers and engeneeres charged to build this hospital are mostly Nigerians?

You are still not making any sense, you are just lashing on to bogus and illegitimate issues that has nothing to do with this project.

It is not by force to criticize.

Nicely said! Most people don't know that JB is a Nigerian company until there's a need for them to look it up. I also didn't know until I applied for their scholarship.

I have this to say... I understand the plight of so many Nigerians and that why we all want to travel overseas or abroad as sweet as we call it grin

Nonetheless, let no one insult Nigeria. We have leadership problem as we all know but at least Nigeria is a fucking free country with the best of weathers. People are making it big in Nigeria, people are getting jobs, doing businesses, helping others in need, building houses, etc.

How many of you pay for the water you use to bath and cook at home. Once you have a borehole or well.... Gbam. Water is plenty everywhere. Light is not stable i know, but at least you are happy. Steady electricity cannot be your source of joy.

But it is not some people fault why they still want to travel abroad after they see pictures of their colleagues on the streets of London with sneakers and a hood jacket. Nigerians over there don't snap in their place of work, they can only snap when they get to one street like that or when they there is snow and you will see the picture and without thinking twice, you are already asking God when you will travel Abroad like say Abroad na Heaven grin grin cheesy

Do you even know that people dug boreholes and wells because the government failed to provide public water?

Have you ever asked yourself why they won't stop the importaion of generators and upgrade the power grids because they are the sole beneficiaries.

If your government can provide these basic amenities/facilities, do you think it's going to be for free?

I only know of fews states and Lagos; I'm aware LASG used to provide public water through Lagos State Water Cooperation and since it couldn't be properly maintained, it's now a story. The reason why everybody isn't paying taxes in Nigeria is because there's no proper documentation hence the reason for frauds in the institutions but with time, thing would change for betterment because NIN/BVN would serve Just like SSN. Because you are probably making it in Nigeria doesn't make you better than them - it's just because you are you to get a chance to jet out yet.
