Foreign AffairsRe: Israel: Between The Devil Of Terrorism And The Deep Blue Sea Of Denial. by Afam(m): 4:23pm On Jun 21, 2007
It seems that some people are getting frustrated with their inability to sell their positions that are based on lies and religous bigotry.

Now, davidylan, state just one sentence you own/wrote on this thread apart from the "from my mailbox" line which you complained about when others posted articles they wanted to post on a public forum. Inconsistency and hypocrisy at work here.

You ask for one to point out what one disagrees with in the article. Why should anyone oblige you? You think it is fashionable to come out with sometimes crazy and phoney statements and expect people to educate you or correct wrong conclusions you arrived at based on wrong premises. No way, this forum can never be a substitute for real education.

So, while you and I-man/4Play support each other no matter how narrow minded or myopic your analysis may be, don't just hope that people will help you explain things that are clear. But wait a minute, do I really expect a hate filled person to see things normally? Nope. Continue with your warped sense of reasoning, good luck and google more.

@I-man/4Play,

True to type, your response had nothing to do with the thread but to focus on anyone that does not agree with your twin ideology of hatred towards the muslims and unconditional support for anything US or Israel.

Go through you post and see if it had anything to do with the issue on board before accusing others.

I warned you earlier, you will self destruct on this forum and no amount of ID changing can save you.

Afam and I-man, both of you are powerful advocate of political mind in this forum. I enjoy both your disagreements and believes.
I do not subscribe to any political leaning whatsoever regardless of the person, people or country in question.

I believe in honesty, fairplay, peace and justice and will always make comments when powerful people oppress, maim and kill innocent people simply because they believe that might is right.

The killing of any innocent person is wrong regardless of the person, group or nation.

Blind support for a nation, religion or race is wrong and those that are heavily involved in this should wake up and stop hiding under the mask to promote hatred towards a people.

This is a typical neo-american/jewish propaganda!!!!!
Thank you for stating the obvious. The poster is blinded with hate towards the muslims and the arabs so would naturally and unconditionally support Israel regardless of the facts on ground (oops! he maintains that enough archeological findings by some people fully support the forced occupation and killing of innocent people).

So, it seems that gradually the die hard fans of Israel are beginning to agree that Israel lost the war it wrongfully waged in Lebanon.

Truth is sacred and can never be hidden forever. Let the lies come and we shall see them fall like a pack of cards.
PoliticsRe: Obasanjo Angry With Yaradua Over Kingibe by Afam(m): 4:07pm On Jun 20, 2007
It seems that Nigerians like to complain about almost everything.

Can those that complain about this appointment suggest Nigerians Yar'adua should have appointed as the SFG and why?

A country where almost everyone is always complaining and suggestions are hard to come by won't develop fast.
PoliticsRe: I Thought You Should Watch This by Afam(m): 3:54pm On Jun 20, 2007
I guess this forum will give you more than enough time to expose your level of reasoning.

1. So, you are now defining rigging for us abi? Well done. Maybe Bush manipulated honestly for public gains.

2. With a wonderful judicial system in the US it is interesting to see that the winner of a free and fair election will be heading to the Supreme court to determine the legality or otherwise of an election that was being contested.

Why won't you be confused when you rarely think before you post?

If things are glaringly obvious why lie about themhuh??

I-man:
The documentary is tendentious and farcical. No wonder Democrats, don't repeat the accusations made in it.No where would you see Al Gore or any of the senior Democrats claiming that the 2000 elections were rigged. Why cry more than the bereaved?

Did you say it has nothing to do with Moore's views? What a load of tripe? Moore is an avowed leftist who campaigns and spends his money for the Democratic party.
Interesting nonsense from a clueless person hiding under multiple IDs on a public forum.

Al Gore contested the election result up to the supreme court and here you have a Nigerian talking nonsense about Al Gore not claiming the 2000 elections were rigged.

Maybe Al Gore went to the courts (up to the highest court in the land) to ask for ice cream and pizza, clueless imposter, abeg make I hia word.

An open minded person? You are the very anithesis of open mindededness. You said yourself that you are a leftist. The documentary maker,Micheal Moore is an avowed leftist, and surprise, surprise, you agree with his views.
The shameless liar at it again. Reproduce anywhere in the world where I said (or better put, wrote) that I am a leftist. Failure to do so further shows that your lying skills are eternally irredeemable. I hate liars with passion and honestly believe they ought not to be among the living as they cause more problems in the world today.

Meanwhile do not divert attention from the documentary, it has nothing to do with Moore's views, the footages were real clips by the participants, not actors or actresses and that makes the documentary real.

when and which countries has Isreal ever bombed? the only 2 countries i can recall are Egypt (during the 6-day war) in their attempt to survive Nasser's plan to destroy them and Iraq (a successful strike at Iraq's nuclear facilities).
During the Gulf war, Saddam ignored the attacking American army to launch scud missiles unprovoked at Isreal and yet Isreal never responded!
Well, it seems that the bombing of Lebanon last year was a minor incident not worthy of being mentioned even when over 1000 civilians were massacred in cold blood.

It is disgusting to see that some religous bigots here are ready to sacrifice truth and facts at the altar of lies, misinformation and deceit just to continue to spread their hate filled ideologies.

Better wake up young man, do you intend to use this forum for people to be correcting you all the time?

So, you google up something, post it as fact (even if you knew nothing about it before) and expect people to prove you right or wrong. I guess the best way to go with people like you is allow them to continue with their faulty reasonings, it seems sweeter that way to see someone talking about things he/she knows very little about.

I once stated that these christian fundamentalists are too busy hating everything arab or muslim and at the same time imagine that they are objective in their line of reasoning.

Well, even pastors these days dey commit very grave crimes so it is not surprising hearing from these self acclaimed defenders of Israel writing rubbish based on limited or even outright lack of understanding.

Wasn't in the least surprised that none of them heard or knew that the State of Israel was supposed to have been created in Africa because they can't find it in google.

segebee:
so how much does it cost for hosting and domain? not to talk of guys like us who use lister generators,

i like that okada analogy lipsrsealed is it true huh
Ok, maybe it is time to clarify a few things.

1. Web design or programming or even development to mean does not include the domain name and web hosting as these are entirely different parts of the whole website.

2. We have just one hosting plan for static websites and it is N24,000.00 per year while our hosting plans for dynamic websites (with PHP and Mysql support) starts from N42,000.00 per year. We do not compromise on the reliability of our servers as we have dedicated email, web, database servers.

All my references and comments on this thread are based on the premise that web design or development precludes domain name registration (we charge N3,000.00 per year) and web hosting. Any confusion created is regretted.
Foreign AffairsRe: Israel Doesn't Want Peace By Gideon Levy by Afam(op): 9:22am On Jun 14, 2007
I believe quite a number of Nigerians are fast learning from Bush whose modus operandi is to obey every command (no matter how silly) or get attacked (even if based on lies).

What is the business of I-man/4Play in how the Palestines have managed Gaza after the ISraeli withdrawal? Must you be interested in the type of soup every woman is cooking in her kitchen?

I do not believe that people come here to support extremism on the part of Hamas or even celebrate suicide bombings because it will be a wrong thing to do.

But it seems that anyone that does not blindly support Israel in this matter (regardless of mistakes or killings of the innocent) automatically becomes a supporter of extremism.

Who sets the standards? Is killing of innocent people by a particular group justified while other groups are condemned?

These are the real issues not the religous bigotry that has tainted an otherwise very clear issue.
PoliticsA Protest Note To Spanish Authorities by Afam(op): 9:15am On Jun 14, 2007
From my inbox,

A Protest Note to Spanish Authorities
Dear Friends,

Please find below, the link to a letter of protest to Spanish Authorities by concerned Nigerians living in Diaspora on the needless, brutal and dehumanisig death visited on Mr. Osamuyia Aikpitanhi, a Nigerian Citizen in Spain.

In a bid to deport Mr. Aikpitanhi from Spain to Nigeria , We understand that Spanish law enforcement agents employed measures that were unreasonable, inhumane, illegal, and, ultimately, fatal. According to reports, Spanish law enforcement agents arrested Mr. Aikpitanhi, beat him, bound his hands and legs firmly with ropes, and put a gag over his mouth. The Spanish Officials then loaded him like an animal onto an Iberia aircraft bound for Lagos , Nigeria . Finally, the law enforcement agents covered him with a sack in order to prevent other passengers traveling on the aircraft from observing the undignified and inhumane manner in which Mr. Aikpitanhi was restrained. Mr. Aikpitanhi, a human being, was treated worse than an animal. Shortly after the aircraft became air borne, Mr. Aikpitanhi died. He died an inhuman death, bound, gagged and soiled in his own waste.

The time has come for us as Nigerians to say out loud to the whole world that we would no longer accept these types of treatments that has now become commonplace against our fellow citizens.

WebmastersRe: All Web Designers In Nigeria Are Amateurs by Afam(m): 9:14am On Jun 14, 2007
To begin with what is a professional website?

I guess the answer to this question will go a long way in clarifying the issues here.

Professionals I believe are people that get paid for what they do.

Amateurs on the other hand are not paid for what they do.

Who sets the standards for websites? I guess there is a body responsible for that and websites (atleast for now) should be judged based on the adherence or otherwise to the set standards.

Anything outside of this is pure subjective, personal and sentimental.

For me the best websites are the ones that are task focused and are easy and fast to use unless people are just browsing aimlessly on the web.

Professional organizations tend to make some very retrogressive decisions. Politics can be harmful to business.
I tend to agree with the first statement as this is obvious in many professional associations in Nigeria as they focus more energy on how they can benefit even to the detriment of the people that are supposed to be providing services for.

Seun:
When the computer village vendors came together, the only result was that they banned price advertisement.
The issue of banning price advertisement has nothing to do with the vendors but with complaints by the public that some of these prices were being used to lure people to their shops only to find out that the products are either more expensive or non existent.

WebmastersRe: Abeg, Who Are These People Designing Websites For 4k? by Afam(m): 8:56am On Jun 14, 2007
Chest beating and bragging won't do anyone any good.

We have seen bad websites costing over N200,000.00 just as we have seen well setup websites costing much less so in reality the price does not necessarily guarantee the quality of the website built.

If you require a static 5-10 pages website it can be built (provided the content is available) for N4,000.00 if the web developer chooses to collect that amount. In any case it won't take up to 2 -4 hrs to set it up so someone making N4,000.00 every four hours will certainly make more money than someone rejecting N20,000.00 and waiting for people to pay say N100,000.00 or more.

The bottomline is the skill set and experience, enough of the boasting jare, that is why Nigerians find it difficult to make money because they always want to play the big man even when those they see as poor men are having it better.

The average okada man makes more money than the average banker that leaves the house before 6.00am and comes home by 8-10.00pm every work day but the perception is different.

@Steeve,

Have you forgotten that a lot of Nigerians prefer to dwell on rumours and gossips than to dwell on facts?

It is all about sensationalizing issues, go through this forum and see that the most active threads are those that dwell on irrelevant issues because when core issues come up quite a number of users disappear or attempt to turn the thread into a personal bashing one.

Chimaroke Nnamani performed better than a lot of governors and Enugu State came first in a study carried out by over 8 foreign ministers from the EU (not that I care about what the foreigners think anyway because we see these things ourselves) based on infrastructural development.

I admit that I do not have the time to respond to every single nonsense you write here so don't get worked up about popping in once in a while.

My position on the middle east issue is crystal clear and I will not be drawn into an open ended narrow minded discussion with you.

To refresh your memory here are my views from day 1, they do not need being repeated on every page to become visible.

1. Israel should withdraw to the pre 1967 borders

2. A palestinian state should be created that will co-exist side by side the State of Israel with the 2 states having the right to exist

These have been my positions and if you cannot live with them just jump into the nearest lake.

The killing of any innocent person is wrong whether such killing is doen by an individual, group or state.

You cannot have peace without justice, euity and fairplay.

The statements above summarizes my positions on anything that has to do with Israel/Palestine.

Well, who sold Nigeria into the hands of IMF? Is it not the NLC acting as a representative of the people that forced the Obasanjo government into signing the IMF agreement through strikes and protests? Just because they saw a part of the document which IMF leaked that contained a clause for salary increment by about 1000%. Was Oshiomole not wise enough to know what was going to happen? Why didn't the masses select the NLC's selfish bargain.

If OBJ had ignored those protests, we would say he is wicked. IMF wants to better the lot of Nigerians but OBJ doesn't want it. In fact that's what people said in those days. When South Korea and Russia were kicking IMF out, our NLC were begging the government to open the door for them.
Tell them make dem hear.

When we say that Nigeria should send the IMF and the World Bank packing they say we do not like the US, empty heads.

Unfortnately when these issues are brought to the fore those that find it difficult to organise their thoughts will disappear from the thread and focus on threads where they make one line statements like Yar'adua is this", OBJ is that, how many of these people know what is happening even when some of these infromation can be found on the public domain?

All is not lost in Israel, here is former Israeli minister of education Shulamit Aloni on Israel's intransigent behaviour.

"I cannot live with the fact that our sharpshooters are killing people. I cannot live with the way we continually wail that we are the victim, and do not examine our own morality. It's important to realise that appalling as suicide bombings are, aerial bombardment kills more. While we feel the pain of our 900 dead, we tend to forget that we have murdered 3000 Palestinian civilians. We are the violent ones; we are the cheats. Our very foundations have been undermined by our adulation of force, and all this is called a democracy. There cannot be democracy when we rule over three million people who have no voice."
As usual they will discard the view of this former minister and accuse him of being paid by the arabs just as they are discarding the views of an adviser to a former PM.

The highest point of hypocrisy is when people dwell on lies and at the same time try to criminally present these lies as TRUTH.

Trying to even explain the issue of what led to the Intifada in 2000 is ok but if I were you I would not bother, I would leave these guys to continue to dwell in their ignorance since the only source of information they have is google.

THat Ya'Adua would have won in a transparent election is a moot point. The fact remains that the April (S)elections were not 'free and fair'. This is the only relevant situation on ground. The citizens of Nigeria were cheated and disenfranchised ans Yar'Adua's presidency remains illegitimate and lacks the people's mandate.
@Bankole01,

So, what are you suggesting? That Yar'adua steps down and hands over to God knows who?

Can you just state what you expect him to do so we can get a handle on this issue.

@I-man/4Play and Davidylan,

It seems crystal clear now that you guys don't even understand the reason for referencing the US elections that were rigged and there is very little I can do to make you understand what has been unambiguosly stated here.

To further expose the level of understanding you both share I will put down the reason again

One of you stated that it is only in a country like Nigeria that elections will be rigged and the people will do nothing and accept the results.

My response was that even in the US where the poster resides, we have seen 2 rigged elections and the heavens did not fall.

Conclusion: It is not only in Nigeria that elections are rigged and it is not only in Nigeria that the citizens will not go to war over elections.

If you have anything against the conclusion reached above state it otherwise don't bore me with your low level of comprehension abeg.
