Technology MarketRe: Cheapest Inverter ever 24hrs Electricity, imported... by Afam(m): 8:48am On Jul 20, 2009
@speedy4u,

First you will need to provide the power ratings of all the appliances you stated considering the fact that the correct sizing of both the inverter capacity and the battery bank needed to guarantee the backup time depend on the correct energy need.

The power ratings of the LCDs, TV can be seen at the back panel either in watts (W) or in amps (A). Are the ceiling fans plastic blade based or metal? What is the length of the fluorescent bulbs 2ft or 4ft?

Provide information to these questions and send the email to afam@justalternativepower.com if need be and we will take it from there.

From reading the article it is clear and apparant that Jan 15th Coup was no Igbo officers alone there were also Yorubas there.
Thanks for pointing that out, I didn't need to see or even read that article to know this fact but this Negro_Ntns is hell bent on spreading all manner of rubbish and yet believes he is telling the truth.

Little wonder he asked you to explain what you mean by your post after thanking you for reading the article. I guess he wants to start thinking for people too.

Negro_Ntns:
The article offered the answer.  To extractthe answer you must analyze the facts.  Your analysis will give you the answers you eek.  Do not be lazy and expect it to be done for you, this is not news article that is pre-manufactured and pre-packaged. . .what you see here is the output of a Federal investigation and report.
It is really disturbing to realize that a seemingly educated adult would expect objective people to rely completely on a Federal investigation and report concerning problems leading to a bitter war between the Federal Government and the Region that the Federal Government won. This is the most embarrassing position ever taken by someone that claims to understand facts. You fight with someone and the people get to know the facts based on what the person you fought with says and believes everything he says. Is this a basis for facts? Is this not highly subjective and biased.

Negro_Ntns, do yourself a favor and rid your soul of the hatred, do away with the lies and your insistence on having access to facts based on your own understanding and limited knowledge. When you do these things, come back here and we will have an objective and truthful debate on what may have happened in the 60's.

The killing of any innocent person is wrong regardless of the victim and the person carrying out the crime.

The 1966 coup was the very first military coup in Nigeria led by some army officers mostly from the Igbo tribe (let us forget for a minute that Igbos from the present day Delta State are usually not regarded as Igbos by non Igbos and by some of the Igbos in the area just like the Ikwerres) and a Yoruba major.

An Igbo man (the highest ranking military officer at that time) quelled the coup and imprisoned those responsible for the coup.

In a counter coup a Yoruba military officer late Col Adekunle Fajuyi who was hosting the then head of state Gen Ironsi chose to die with his commander in chief even when he was asked to leave as he was not a target.

That man late Col Adekunle Fajuyi remains the bravest and most honorable man I have read about in the Nigeria history till date.

Obviously, this man late Col Adekunle Fajuyi though a Yoruba man did not believe the lies and misinformation this Negro_Ntns is spreading here and this man was in a position to know everything this Negro_Ntns would never know no matter what he does.

Arrogance of barbaric souls? Hmm, coming from someone claiming not to be tribalistic and still ready to blame a race (the Igbo people) for what a few military men did. You may be proud of people that even kill innocent people just to assuage your ego or to help in increasing the hatred you have for a people.

Only tribal and ethnic bigots would shamelessly blame a whole ethnic group for the actions of military men and only God knows the type of hatred such people would imbibe in their children and grand children.

One good thing that has come out of this post is that people are at least making known their hatred instead of hiding them. Well done!

@No2Atheism,

Thanks for your long posts but it seems you are the one playing to the gallery here.

You have consistently and shamefully referred to the actions of coup plotters (with majority of them Igbos) as actions of the Igbo people. This is disgusting coming from someone that claims to stand by the truth.

Your lame attempt at claiming the Igbos planned what a few military men did is unfortunate for an educated mind.

Why are you loosing sleep over some of statements I raised when they are not false statements. 63% of the lands in Abuja was not based on any sharing formula but by the buying up of properties by people who were given less than 40 pounds to begin life after a bitter war that was waged on them.

If you cannot live with such facts and reality it is your own problem not mine.

Stick to the issues. So, it is today you learnt that Zik was aware because someone stated so? It is obvious you know close to nothing about the issue you have been talking about if all these nonsense you are putting down is based on what you read some minutes or hours ago.

When educated people begin to debate rather in an unintelligent manner I worry way to much and wonder if the so called younger generation would not be far worse if given the opportunity to lead this nation.

1. The Nigerian 5 Majors responsible for the coup had a yoruba man in it so calling the coup an Igbo coup is both wong and shameless.

2. What some military men did without consulting the Igbos cannot be held against the Igbos to the extent of having innocent Igbos massacred in the Northern part of the country.

3. Igbos fought a war that was brought to them and waged mainly in their backyard.

4. In spite of all the deliberate plans of other regions in the country to hold the Igbos back it is common knwoledge to all that the average Igboman is more comfortable than people from other parts of the country even without having strong political power.

5. The Igbos can and will prosper with natural resources found even only in the 5 core Igbo states.

6. Love the Igbos or hate them, you can never ignore them anytime you see them.

7. In terms of academics it is also clear where the Igbos stand in this country thanks to objective statistics from examination bodies being run mostly by non Igbos.

8. Let people continue to mask their envy and jealousy with claims of arrogance and pride.

9. El-Rufai made a report some years ago that over 63% of the lands in Abuja are owned by the Igbos yet I am sure the original master plan did not apportion 63% of the land to the Igbos. Igbos through their businesses have made money and wown considerable number of lands in places like Lagos and Rivers and yet tribalists and ethnic bigots are busy looking for ways to say nonsense about the Igbos.

@Afam

Thanks jare.It's always a welcome relief to see that a few see beyond their noses.You know, this back and forth postings remind me of the Tutsi and Hutu genocide years ago.These people were killing themselves off with machetes (over a million people died).The massacre went on for months before some sort of intervention came in.The reason for the delay?The country was of no resource value to them.If Zimbabwe was such a country without resources,the western powers wouldn't give a hoot if Mugabe and his future generation hold unto power till the year 7000.

The people might be going through rough times now but it's always like that.After the world war,Japan was completly desimated and virtually a waste land.Severe trade sanctions were imposed on them YET in 10 years, they were back on track ,in 20 years they were classified as a developing nation and in 30 years, they were recognized as a world power.

The problem with Africa is that we don't have a strong African Union (AU).Most of the members of that board are puppets to the western forces (except for the likes of Ghaddafi).As it is, the EU can impose sanctions on us at will but the AU no get mouth for where dem they.Does that make sense?Africa is our land and the AU should be the one deciding the fate of nations here not THEM.Its outrageous.If a true leader should emerge from Nigeria and change things around including easing off the grip of the western forces on us, the western forces can easily impose trade sanctions on us and no other country would buy our oil.Is that right?Who checks their own excesses?Hmmm?They can tell us what and what not to do but we can't tell them jack.From every angle you look at it, it sucks.
@mccloud224,

The truth is that lies and misinformation don't last forever and whenever they are exposed those supporting and spreading them hide their faces in shame.

Issues like US invasion of Iraq based on lies, the last presidential election in the US that some people here claimed would be won by republicans in spite of the pre election polls, the last election in Iran and the sponsored demonstrations, Mugabe's issue and the opposition leader that was funded and supported by the West, Israel's high handedness and atrocities in Palestinian lands have been discussed here and those of us that have been accused of hating the West have always been right on the outcomes especially when the lies these guys are constantly being fed begin to crumble like packs of cards.

It is this frustration by these guys that is leading to unwarranted insults and abuses whenever they find it supremely difficult to defend a position or when they cannot engage in any intellectual argument. It is a shame that some of them claim to be educated even though I agree that education is one thing and ability to use the brain to think is yet another.

So, while Tudor will resort to insults anytime he cannot defend a position based on facts, truth and common sense thereby exposing his shallow reasoning on common knowledge issues I pity him because like others before him he will embarrass himself with his stupidity until he becomes ashamed of his chosen username and will now do what people like him do - abandon the username and register another one.

Many thanks for your time and take care.

You shut it and shut it good.The Zimbabweans weren't faring any better when the "colonialists" had most of their land.The only indigenes that profited from them where the ones working on "their" plantations.Mugabe came in with a vision to liberate the country.What is going on there is no different from what happened with Liberia (think with your head not your ass).Under the leadership of Ghadaffi, the country prospered and got a lot of sanctions and bad press to show for it.The great difference between them is the severity in Zimbabwe.

The Western powers have been getting back at him for many years with numerous sanctions and as it is, the country can't trade even if they have valuable resources.For years, the media has demonized him to the extent, people don't remember how it all started.All people (like you) know is the trash that is fed to you about him on CNN.This is a typical repeat story of what happened to Moses in the desert.When the Israelites got thirsty and hungry, they completely forgot that a while back, they were slaves. And even the ones that remembered the slave days protested that they preferred slavery to their current circumstances.Nobody remembers what his goal was and still is.All people know is the crap the western powers are making up about him.Bloody ingrates.
@mccloud224,

Many thanks for your post above. The blunt truth is that some of us here are simply incapable of thinking through issues but would quick to repeat what the West feeds us using propaganda, lies and misinformation. It is a shame that some of us have sold our souls to the white man and would rather water down any achievements of the black man while dismissing even very glaring atrocities committed by some of these Western countries.

My happiness is that even in Zimbabwe there are a lot of people (even in the majority) that know the facts on ground and would rather stick with Mugabe than allow foreigners to take control of the country.

The Igbo of post-independence Nigeria were arrogant and proud. They did not carry along the other tribes with them when choosing the name of the new republic, the lingua franca of the new state and the boundaries. That is why they did not get our support at that time. We would have suffered the same fate in Biafra. If at that time they cornered most of the federal scholarships for their tribes men then what else could one have expected. The lessons of the past and present is for all Nigerians to learn from.
The Igbos were arrogant and proud? Sounds more like envy and jealousy here. Saro Wiwa benefited from scholarships, it was alleged that an Ijaw name suggested the name Biafra and Gen Effiong who was Ojukwu's second in command was not an Igbo man.

I guess he expects an Igbo man who got an education to act and behave like an uneducated person and expects an Igbo man that worked hard to make money in business to trek to anywhere he wants to instead of buying a car because some people will feel and think that he is proud and arrogant.

It is this type of envy and jealousy that inhibits one to achieve his potential in life.

An allegation cannot be regarded as baseless UNLESS it has been investigated and revealed to have no facts backing it up - till that is done, it remains an unproven allegation.

1. Something alleged; an assertion: allegations of disloyalty.
2. The act of alleging.
3. A statement asserting something without proof: The newspaper's charges of official wrongdoing were mere allegations.
4. Law An assertion made by a party that must be proved or supported with evidence.

The content in bold refers, I never acknowledged Charles Taylor's statement was baseless, this is another shameless lie by a cursed idiot.

I need not debate about hating America because I do not but will always point out atrocities and wrong doings by countries especially the West because it is the West that goes around with this "holier than thou" attitude and I object to it.

Obama visited Ghana and talked about democracy and African leaders but the first stop on African soil was in Egypt, a country that practices a type of democracy the US would object to if the president of that country was not doing their bidding. Even Saudi Arabia does not practice democracy and yet the US does not openly condemn the country even in spite of the human right issues there.

So, while you may have sold your soul to the US and you are ever ready to insult anyone that does not share your stupid commendation you must understand that there are people that think with their brains and not just allow some people to force them to accept all forms of propaganda, lies and misinformation.

I have not claimed Charles Taylor is 100% right and I went further to interpret it as allegation because it is not an established fact.

However, I queried the rationale behind someone calling people dolts and dumbos simply because those people do not share in his beliefs or convictions.

On Charles Taylor and jail break it is not hard for any intelligent mind to understand that such high profile prisoner cannot just escape from a high security jail in the US and return to his country to become president.

What if what Charles Taylor said is 100% correct? What will that make you?

It is well known that CIA has been involved in things like what Charles Taylor is alleging, so why the name calling?

@topic,

Foreign influence in Africa is not a secret. Charles Taylor could not have escaped from a high security prison in the US and ended up being the president of Liberia if he did not have support right from the prison escape.

However, in spite of what CIA may have done he should be bold enough to accept full responsibilities of his actions and based on his actions he deserves the death sentence even though killing him would not be enough to right the wrongs he did while in power.

Unfortunately, he is being tried by foreigners in a foreign country, it would have been nice if Africans can dish out their own style of trials and execution for crimes like these on their leaders.

Nigeria has what a lot of countries would want to pay for and trust me there are buyers everywhere.

During Abacha's regime it was clear that doing business with the US was just another option out there.

I think you are just saying rubish here. When did Americas debt put them down to your level ?
Or to the level of Germans and Japs for that matter?
Who bloody cares what you think? What you think is completely irrelevant, what matters is the reality.

Your comment on the debt goes to show that you are completely clueless.

Who is the US indebted to? Even as the world's most indebted country they are still borrowing. Borrowing from who? Will these loans ever be paid back? Having access to unlimited loans from institutions you either control or own and being able to print money anytime you need it is certainly not a model a country should copy.

We have our problems in Nigeria no doubt and we can solve these problems if we can solve the leadership problem and downplay the ethnic and tribal sentiments while insisting on fair play, equity and justice.

But trying to tie the future or success of this country to the president of the most indebted country in the world is the most stupid comment I have read from someone all my life.

Oh yeah, always blame the west for your problems, typical black man attitude, abeg carry go jare angry
unfortunately, once a slowpoke always a slowpoke. Highlighting the complicity of the West in any problem they contribute to in Africa or elsewhere for that matter is not the same thing as blaming the West for all the problems but it is understandable when idiots like you cannot understand that simple fact.

Make them hear me, the truth must be told, the man was a terrible ruler. He was an ideologue and not a pragmatic person. He squandered the surplus that the brits gave him after independence on building Airlines, Nuclear power plants, and other white elephant projects. In fact, it is said that when he was told that there was only 500,000 pounds left in the nation's reserves he sat stunned into silence for 15 minutes and he wept.

The economist.com? Why don't you reference documents written by Britain, Australia and US so that you will have a complete reference? Do you brain a favor and use it to think, that is why God gave you one, it is not just for cap or head tie.

On how to achieve the aim of the Niger Delta people, he canvassed for an alliance with Igbos who he said have the know-how, the population and zeal but not the resources for self determination.
Wrong! The Igbos have the resources for self determination unless I don't understand what he means by resources.

In spite of the criminal transfer of oil producing communities in Igboland to Rivers when the state was created it is common knowledge that while Imo and Abia have crude oil and as a matter of fact are part of the 9 oil producing states in Nigeria that Anambra sits on a considerable amount of crude oil which for obvious reasons the FG has termed strategic reserve just to avoid empowering the East by exploiting the crude oil there.

Move to Enugu state and you will find very high quality coal. Interestingly you can use this coal as a foundation for a viable steel industry by just getting iron (that we will gladly pay for from anywhere) and you can certainly use coal to produce crude oil by hydrogenating the coal. South Africa produces oil this way so we have more than enough resources to want to stay on our own if Nigeria cannot be far to everyone.

The Igbos do not need special treatment, they are not interested in favoritism, all they ask for is fair play because an average Igbo man will succeed and survive anywhere as long as there is equity and fair play.

So, Biafra failed because there were betrayals from our own neighbours and brothers in the South South. Even Bakassi was ceded to Cameroun for the part that country played in blocking food supplies into Biafra that led the to killing of many innocent men, women and children through starvation.

Take a trip to Ebonyi and you will find a state blessed with many natural resources like limestone and they state can practically feed all the Igbo states.

Let the Niger Delta say what they want to say about making peace with the Igbos but none of them should ever make the statement that the Igbos cannot sustain themselves even if only the core 5 Igbos states are left on their own because not only do we have enough natural resources we also have the human capital, zeal and intelligence to turn a nation into a vibrant and progressing one.

Love the Igbos or hate them but you can certainly not ignore them.

Peace to all lovers of equity, justice and fair play!

What's the big deal about the president of the most indebted country in the world visiting Nigeria?

I think people are thinking way too much about this Obama man instead of looking for ways to solve our many and sometimes very unique problems in Nigeria.
