The man in interior ministry who leaked the true result showing that Ahmedinajad actually came third has since died in questionable circumstances.
Can you substantiate this please?

Was there any evidence to prove the following

1. The man leaked a result

2. If yes, any proof that the result he leaked was the true result

It is sad that most politicians that lose elections always claim rigging.

Food for thought

Buhari, Orji Uzo kalu, Pat Utomi, Atiku etc all claimed that PDP rigged the last election.

Let us for the sake of argument agree with these allegations, my question then is

Who won the election as it is not possible for all of them to come first in the election and then Yar'adua last.

This is not the first time that Donu Korgbara has openly expressed her hatred for the Ogoni struggle and Ken Saro Wiwa. She started it soon after his father denounced MOSOP for ministerial appointment and also, before these four men were murdered by the state; therefore, I am not surprise.  In all her articles against Ken Saro Wiwa and the Ogoni struggle she has always exalted Shell.  She hasn’t complain anywhere about the devastation cause by Shell to our environment or support any move that will bring about justice for Ogoni and the entire Niger Delta region. Even without legal confrontation from the 13 families, the government of Nigeria has own up to some degree the role it plays in the killing of these individuals with appointments and cash to these families.

Therefore, Donu Korgbara is a great liar who was not even there in Nigeria to witness first hand, the brutality Ogoni people went through in the hands of the Nigerian government/Shell. She did not even care to find out from those security operatives that were sent to Ogoni to ensure the murder of these four individuals in order to justify the killing of Ken Saro Wiwa and eventually destroy the entire Ogoni struggle. All the memo from Shell, confession from  those who were paid to lie against Ken who defected, interviews from Paul Okuntimo etc  meant nothing to her as long as she is been paid to do her dirty job. Currently she has been offered an appointment by the River State government, maybe on Shell’s recommendation.

Finally, let it be clear to her that Ken Saro Wiwa earned the honor he received today even in his death, and the world understands that.  No matter how much money she may have received from Shell to embark on this campaign, she will not succeed because although Ken is not physically with us, his words have been received. I wonder why she did not speak out when Ken was alive.
This post coming from a first time poster on this forum. Think something is wrong with this setup abi people don dey register multiple usernames to post supporting arguments?

@Ibime,

Don't play with words here.

I am not comparing Ken with Ateke, get this straight.

My problem with your posts is that you have been displaying what I call total commendation and total condemnation depending on the who is being discussed.

This is my quarrel with you and would remain so as long as you continue in that light because it is wrong, misleading and coming from an educated Nigerian very embarrassing.

My apologies for making reference to a personal issue as regards your cousin but again you must respect the dead as regards the Ogoni 4 as you have consistently referred to their deaths as a result of mob action based on the youths seeing them as mere traitors and working in concert with the state government against the Ogoni people.

Allegations are allegations and certainly not enough to warrant the horrific way these men were killed.

So, stating that Ken cannot be faulted or cannot in any way be linked to what happened considering the fact that those 4 were the strongest men in terms of opposition to Ken's camp is unfortunate and highly regrettable.

He who goes to equity must do so in clean hands. Show respect for the dead people as all of them may have been killed based on lies and misinformation.

I have lived and worked in PH and Onne so I am aware of some of the problems those areas witnessed in the 90s.

Typical moronic Nigerian, always turning issues to personalities.

Confirm or deny the points made and stop thinking like a clown that you are.

Our history cannot be rewritten by spin doctors like you. The hard facts are indeed painful for some and rightfully so.

Personal advice - Good name they say is better than silver and gold. Work on this in your lifetime because when you are gone people may talk about you and if you are bad people would say it and your off springs must live with the consequences of your bad name.

@kalmebad,

Thanks for your post. That you went out to find out facts for yourself shows the type of person you are. I have full respect for your honesty and sincerity.

For starters, look at the bastardization of Igbos names in Rivers.

Umuokoro -> Rumuokoro
Umumasi -> Rumumasi
Umuibekwe -> Rumuibekwe
Umukwurushi - Rumukwurushi

For non Igbos here the meaning of "umu" is children.

Funny enough Igbos have been producing majority (if not all) of the governors in Rivers state under democracy and will continue to do so even forever because democracy is about majority and the Igbos are the majority in Rivers state.

I used to chide my friends I play football with when I was in PH about their claims as regards Igbos especially when you see someone bearing Emeka Okeke telling you that he is not Igbo but Ikwerre.

For those defending Ken and absolving him of any complicity in anything I want them to tell us where Ken's mother comes from as in her tribe. I cannot remember correctly now but I think his mother is Igbo (not 100% certain).

As naijaking has stated repeatedly you cannot rewrite history.

Ken came to Enugu to appeal for the Igbos to help fight the Ogoni issue especially as Abacha was in a very healthy relationship with the Igbos generally and wouldn't have killed Ken if the Igbos got involved but again Ojukwu reminded him that he went to school in CIC and UNN with Eastern region's money and yet spearheaded the abandoned properties program in Rivers where Igbos who were fighting a war had to lose their properties.

Even Hausas and Yorubas did not imagine doing such thing but Ken implemented this to the letter.

What goes around comes around and I do hope that those of us that are living today would use some of these things to better our ways and try to keep a decent name so that even in death people would not associate our names with despicable things and crimes.

we have the following range of inverter depending on what you want to use it for: 1000w{1KVA} for #25,000, 2000w{2KVA} for #35,000, 5000w{5KVA} #90,000. 10KVA for #200,000. etc.
1000W is not the same thing as 1KVA
2000W is not the same thing as 2KVA
5000W is not the same thing as 5KVA

shoboy9:
My inverter runs down quickly after charging (less than 2hr) even though its lights show its fully charged. Can you help? What could be wrong?
The battery charger (usually integrated in the inverter box) could be the problem.

The battery itself could be the problem.

Increased load could also be the problem.

Get in touch with the supplier or builder of your inverter.

The most difficult problem to sort out is the battery because if the battery has gone back or is dying you will have to buy another one. Getting deep cycle batteries to a large extent helps in the battery issue as they last longer than the regular wet cell (trailer battery) or even the SMF batteries.

Have u gone into the History of the British Parliament to find out how they got to where they are today?

The House of Lords membership were traditionally by Inheritance before recent reforms. Some members of House of lords today still get there by inheritance. In fact the House of Lords used to weild more power than the House of Commons.

The queen has to sign into law any bill passed by the House of Commons, and House of Lords. The House of Lords still introduces bills and has to pass every bill passed in the Commons before they become law except when there are unending disagreements.
These unelected officials still take part in deciding the lives of the British people and in the legislative process. For a country that wants to lecture others on democracy they are not democratic enough themselves.

Whenever Gordon Brown decides to dissolve parliament his next stop will be Buckingham palace to get approval from the queen for General election.

The crown has real powers is just that in recent history they have not been at loggerheads with the Government who control the House of Commons.

I believe that albeit with cosmetic differences the system of Government in Iran has some similarities with that of Britain. In fact the process of chosing the head of state in Iran is more democratic than that of Britain.

If Queen dies today, Prince Charlse becomes Head of State by default but if Ayotollah Khamanei dies today it will fall on the Guardian Council led by Hashemi Rafsanjani to choose the Supreme Leader.

Queen (UK) = Ayotolla Khamanei (IR) = Head of State

House of Lords (UK) = Clerics (IR) = Upper Legislature

Prime Minister (UK) = President (IR) = Head of Government

House of commons (UK) = Parliament (IR) = Lower House

@TayoD,

It is not about what you feel.

I reserve the right to comment on any issue whether for or against based on the prevailing circumstances.

I have always maintained that the killing of any innocent person is wrong regardless of who is doing the killing whether a person, group or nation.

I have always maintained that you cannot have peace without justice, fairness mutual respect regardless of race or religion.

These positions I have always maintained and I dare you to claim you have not seen them on my posts on several occasions.

If I am neither Arab nor Muslim what then do I stand to gain to always be against the Jews or Israelis at least on issues revolving around the middle east.

Unfortunately, some people here (including you) have wrongly believed that I hate Jews or Israel. Even though I have a right to do so if I so wish I do not hate them.

So what is your problem with Isreal or Jews? Why always hammering on them when other races do not even practice anything close to what they do? Why the hate?
@TayoD,

I do not hate the Jews neither do I hate Israelis.

It is the blanket commendation given to them irrespective of whatever atrocities that they commit that I am against.

I do not believe in blanket commendation or condemnation of anyone, any group or nation.

I prefer to judge people and nations based on their actions, blaming when it is necessary and supporting/praising when necessary.

I hope I have answered your question.

Are you kidding me? Are you implying all press in the region are "Western influenced"? Even Al-Jazeera and "unwesternised media outlets" are reporting there is a problem - same line of report as that of the so called western media. It is a bad thing to restrict freedom of the press. Especially in this kind of scenario that the whole world is watching.

A few respected political analyst have doubted the margin in which Ahmadinejad won. I will take their view over yours any day am afraid. Also a recount is an indicative that there is definitely issues [vote rigging?] as alleged all along. Look at the images coming out of Tehran, clearly the opposition have loads of support.

Call a spade, a spade. The election in Zimbabwe was flawed and rigged. If people like you cannot call a spade, a spde, then no point trying to debate with you. Was it the westerners as well that made mugabe cling on to power and then saying "only God can remove him"? Or was that taken out of context. Dude. Open your eyes man. I get the impression you just refuse to see the point at hand.

Let me get this straight, you want Nigeria to adopt a hardform of Islamic law? You want your wife covering her face? You want your sex to give sex on demand? You want to stone and hang adulterers and homos? Right. Now I know where your school of thought comes from. I think I will rather debate with someone like RichyBlack than someone with your mind set.

You keep missing the point. Regardless of media input or not, the US was ready to strike him. Besides, that is not what this debate is about. I have a feeling you also like moving goal post. Gosh, you have all the worst attributes of a rubbish debater am afraid.
Without bother to respond to the different points you made I will state the following.

1. You behave like the typical Nigerian lacks the courage to accept a mistake

2. When faced with superior logic you resort to name calling and focus on personalities

3. People who reason like that do not deserve any wastage of time on them.

When you are ready to debate issues without resorting to personalities let me know.

By the way Mugabe was actually right in his claim that only God would remove him from power, not so?

When did the Western press begin to see Saddam as a bad person?

When the US was providing him with weapons?

When the US never objected to the gassing of the Kurds?

When the US supported him for the duration of the 8 year old bitter war with Iran?

When exactly?

The hypocrisy of the West and the many lies they have told makes it perfectly normal for anyone to question their motives whenever they get involved in the internal affairs of any nation.

Please read the content below in blue. It must not be the Supreme Court. The point here is that having a sizable number of people in another country can produce such scenarios and as such should not be seen as a favor but a right for those that practice democracy.

You rightfully stated that Latinos have not been able to get to a position in the US and I brought in a case of a Muslim being elected into the US House of Reps.

Tayo-D:
@Afam,

We are here talking about Jew - Arab dichotomy as well as other racial biases because of Richy's statement. Which one is the Christian/Islam twist you are now putting on this? How is that relevant? IS the Christian you talked about a Persian, Jew, Black or Latino governing in a mostly Arab Iraq?

And by the way, Latinos are a sizeable percentage of the US population. No Latino/Latina has ever been on the US Supreme Court! Instead of acknowledging the good that an Arab on the Isreali Supreme Court represents, you just have to find every way to condemn the Jews. You care to answer the question I posed to Richy as well?

I wonder what RichyBlack have to say to all of these?
Restrictions placed on foreign journalists are good since all they do is misinform the public just to suit the agendas of their owners and interests.

A partial recount goes to prove that Ahmedinejad has nothing to hide especially as the opposition does not have enough supporters to win any election as even stated in all the polls conducted before the election.

The same foreign journalists tried the same nonsense in Zimbabwe and while the West lied all the way to the media quite a number of well meaning African leaders knew the facts and supported Mugabe and today we know how peace came to that country.

Facts don't lie and the sooner we started basing our positions on them the better.

The US used lies to invade Iraq and today uncountable number of innocent people have been killed. We all know the roles of the media and foreign journalists in demonizing Saddam.

A 2 state solution has been the only reasonable solution all along but the hypocrites and lobbyists in the US and Israel would not want to hear of it until Obama stood his ground and Natenyanhu knew his options were all of a sudden grossly limited.

This is what honest conflict resolution is all about, not the nonsense Bush and co were doing in the past, wasting time, allowing more killings and spreading hate each time an innocent life is wasted.

The content in bold refers, this is because the Arab is from a place Israel has forcefully taken and that place is within the seized lands. Considering the fact that the people inhabiting the state of Israel today ran away from some countries in Europe and were settled in the land of Palestine it is very very normal to see Arabs holding key positions in Israel because they are citizens in that country since Israel was not able to either kill all the Arabs they met there or send them away, far from the present state of Israel.

Saddam had a Christian as his second in command in Iraq even though Christians were in the minority - about 5% of the Iraqi population.

It is sad that this thread has been reduced to Saro Wiwa being hero worshiped by some.

Is it the same man that spearheaded the abandoned properties program in Rivers state where properties of Igbos were seized by people who could not own their own houses.

The same man that was made a commissioner at around 26 years in return for his position went to CIC Enugu and UNN with Eastern Region money.

The same man that came to plead with the Igbos to help him fight the Ogoni issue in Enugu where Ojukwu was reported to have told him Good morning as he was just seeing what Ojukwu saw a 1/4 century ago as at that time.

I do not believe that talking about the dead is the best way to discuss the issue at hand but to show apathy to the murdered people while trying to project the late Saro Wiwa as a perfect man is plain nonsense and shameful.

A lot of us are mere hypocrites and nothing more.

I have never been in support of the Nze Ndi Igbo title in Lagos, in fact I support the Lagos State government on this but your myopic sense of reasoning would not allow you know where people stand on issues.

On Jim Nwobodo/Alex Ekwueme there is absolutely nothing wrong in Nwobodo refusing to support Ekwueme because it was the same Ekwueme that worked in concert with the NPN to rig Nwobodo out of office simple because he state then was being controlled by NPP with Nwobodo as governor.

Ekueme's issue should teach us as individuals to know that sooner or later we shall reap what we sow.

This has nothing to do with Anambra/Enugu factor because Enugu State was a part of Anambra state when Ekwueme was the vice president.

I am not condemning her for her bitterness. I took utter care not to directly state that these guys were corrupt. I only said, that is how the Ogoni people perceived them to be. I can not accuse any of these guys cos I am not EFCC and because there is a fine line. GB Letons sons are my compadres so I wouldn't yarn anyhow without evidence. As well as the four that died, there were 4 others who survived as they were warned by villagers on their way to the meeting, including GB Leton. Saro-Wiwa himself expressed regret at the actions of the mob. Like I said, the fault lies with the mob, not because Ken incited them to do anything. Infact Ken was not even in town when they were killed. He simply accused some of them of corruption. Is that a sin? It was not an accusation he repeated often and it was no Hitler-esque style incitation.
Put differently, you cannot accuse Sani Abacha of the murders people usually attribute to him because chances are he never fired any shots and he was never at the scene of the crimes.

It is sad when educated people try to apply the same rule differently depending on the target.

Those 4 men died because some people believed the allegations of Saro Wiwa, allegations that were never proved and for all I care may be completely wrong.

It is sad and wrong for the memory of these men to be insulted by some of the comments you have made here.

I am from Enugu state and in no way related to any of the players here but we must learn to speak in tune with our conscience for those that still have them.

Mugabe was able to rubbish such nonsense when the opposition leader in spite of the funds and support from the West couldn't become president.

Even Hamas won a free and fair election in Palestine yet the West refused to recognize the will of the vast majority.

Today Ahmadinejad has won a re-election and some people want us to believe that he lost because the opposition has not accepted defeat or that some people are protesting the result.
