raumdeuter:
So tell us who was in opposition in that time
Parties are in the opposition and not ethnic groups. The fact that a lot of Yorubas were in Alliance for Democracy (AD) does not mean the Yoruba nation was in the opposition. it would even make more sense to say that Lagos was in the opposition.

Really Afam? so what do we call where they are now?
Has anybody every used the word "Opposition" to describe where Igbos are now? We have heard of marginalization and other nomenclatures but never opposition.

Shukuakukobambi:
by the same token, we could argue that igbo are not in opposition now too after all, Ngige, Okorocha, Enelamah, Onu, Nwabueze etc are all in govt together with Buhari in addition to all the other parastatals that buhari has appointed igbos to.

No tribe is obviously in opposition. only politicians are
Nobody has ever said Igbos are in the opposition despite being ill-treated by this government.

There's a saying that when a lie is allowed to go on for too long, it becomes the truth or atleast it's starts looking like it.

There's this lie that has been bandied around about how Yorubas have been in opposition politics for soo long. How could Yorubas have been in opposition when the number one citizen of the country, Chief Olusegun Aremu Okikiola Obasanjo who ruled for 8 years is a Yoruba man. Let's not forget all the ministers, heads of parastatals and senators who represented their various constituencies and were members of the ruling party at the time (PDP). Even in Yaradua and Jonathan's government, Yorubas were highly represented.

So, why do people keep saying that Yorubas have been in the opposition for so long when they're actually been represented in all governments since 1999 even more than Igbos.

Messi fanboy.

1. History would ask how a Ronaldo keenly contested the most individual coveted prize in football against your all time great such that he won it just as the same amount as him.
2. History would ask how a young, charismatic, onetime Lisbon player took the Premier League by storm to become a force, left for Spain to become a phenom.
3. History would ask how Ronaldo scored 50 goals in six consecutive seasons in the same league Messi is known for when he clearly could not do same.
4. History would ask how a Ronaldo was the first player in the history of the La liga to score against every team in a single season where Messi had been playing prior his arrival in 2009.
5. History would ask why Ronaldo won a senior national silverware while your so-called all time great cost his team a final by shooting a penalty kick into the sky, cried like a sissy and announced his retirement because he could not handle failure.
6. History would also ask why Ronaldo was announced the most complete footballer alive when Messi played in his era.
7. History would ask why Messi refused to play elsewhere but Barcelona while Ronaldo moved from Lisbon to Manchester United, became the club's iconic star and moved to Real to become goalkeeper's nightmare.
8. History would ask how a Ronaldo overtook Messi in the Champions League all time scoring chart to become its all time goal scorer.

Ronaldo would not only go down as an inspiration to players who are not regarded, but would be regarded as the best thing to happen to goal scoring feats in modern day football. One word best describe him and that is GENUIS.

onatisi:
that is what ppl dont understand
many are still sitting down saying tinubu will deliver the south west and buhari will win the north
they have forgotten that the dynamics of 2015 is no longer there
south west will be split ,same with the north , i doubt if the south east will give apc their bloc votes .
atiku may get the ticket and he may not
but one thing is certain, any northerner presented by pdp will definitely have a lot of sympathy votes.
many things are happening underground and consultations are really ongoing.
the pdp convention is what everyone is waiting for to see the outcome
Buhari and his advisers are not particularly smart. Despite the fact that Buhari got votes from non traditional areas and instead of him to use that opportunity to consolidate his popularity, he chose to plat ethnic and religious politics thereby not only losing millions of his 2015 supporters but also making sure that the SS and SE never even considers voting for him. He thinks the core North can win him the election despite failing on numerous occasions where he depended solely on the north to win.
PoliticsRe: Buhari: Kano Crowd Not Reflection Of 2019 — PDP by Afam4eva(m): 6:11pm On Dec 07, 2017
All Atiku just needs to do is to steal some votes from Buhari in the core northern states and he's good to go.

PoliticsRe: The PDP Don't Need The South West In 2019 by Afam4eva(m): 1:34pm On Dec 07, 2017
The PDP would need every zone in the country but while it's trying to court new zones it should not forget to maintain it's frontline zones such as the SE and SS.

Buhari won the 2015 election in the Middle-belt and the South-West, so PDP must be able to wrestle some states from these zones if they want to topple the incumbent. The only way that PDP would not need these zones is if it can win some states from the core north which can only be done if they present another popular northern candidate to challenge Buhari's popularity, even if it is too win just 40% of the votes.

What is the SW worth to the PDP?
As much as the SW is more APC-centric, PDP could still get considerable amount of votes in places like Ekiti, Ondo and even Oyo with the help of people like Ladoja.

A chairman and Deputy from the south?

The PDP is playing a dangerous game sha. They need the SW and can't afford another tussle.
Since the North is going to produce the presidential candidate while the south-east produces the vice, i see nothing wrong in the chairmanship and deputy chairmanship going to different regions in the north.

My only concern is, why Ladoja who was a former governor of a state has o be a deputy to Uche Secondus, also considering the fact that he's older. It just sounds strange except he has no qualms with the arrangement.

PoliticsRe: Must The Next President Be A Northerner? by Afam4eva(m): 5:42pm On Nov 27, 2017
sebali:
All about the media as regards to 2019 is Buhari vs Atiku. On the sidelines we have names like Lamido popping up. My question is, why is the south not making any move towards taking the presidency come 2019.
We produce the resources, are more educated but sit back and let the north dictate the nations politics since 1960. This has to stop, modern politics is all about the media, and we control the media (both the regular media and social media), so what are we afraid of. I dare to say we must not choose btw Atiku(desperation) and Buhari (failure), let the south feed a candidate and rally behind him.
This my theory..... If we feed a southern Christian from SS e. g Donald Duke he has a good chance of winning
1. Both SE and SW would vote for him since he is neither Igbo or Yoruba(as both tribes prefer to fight than support each other)

2. He is younger comparatively.... So those clamoring for a youthful candidate would vote him
3. The middle belt would vote him if we can use fulani menace against the core north
4. He has a good track record as governor of Cross rivers
5. The Christians in the NE could vote for him still because of fear of the fulanis and core northerners.
6. Buhari would always gt the NW bt another northern candidate means the vote in the NE would be shared that gives a consolidated sourthern candidate the advantage.
7. Finally we control the Media..... That's one of the ingredients needed to win an election.

I beg all southerners/middlebelterns alike, lets put our differences aside, Lets show the core North they don't own this country, lets stand up and effect a real change..... The Northern Islamic block has being ruling for years with nothing to show for it...... It mustn't be another Northern Muslim.
In 2015 I supported Buhari
Come 2019 am not voting a Northern Muslim.....
It Mustn't be between Buhari or Atiku..... Lets support our own.... Thats what the NW does every time.... They only vote for their own(Northern Muslim).

COME 2019 LET US SUPPORT OUR OWN. VOTE FOR A SOUTHERNER...
I WILL VOTE A SOUTHERNER.
Will it be a crime if we all join hands and support an Igbo candidate or is this your own way of campaigning for Donald Duke? I have nothing against Donald Duke, but if we must vote anyone it must be due to merit and not because he is from the south-south which is neither Yoruba or Igbo. You must think everyone else came to drink garri.

Iis open heaven more read than Things Fall Apart or the King James version of the bible? Are they the only writers in the world. Even the writer of Harry porter that sold her books to film studios for millions of dollars are not flying private jets. Open heavens ko, closed hell ni.

That is their cover up -- "BOOKS". The reality is that book sales are not that much... it is the offering and tithes that make up the bulk of their income.
What books have they written? Are they Chinua Achebe or Wole Soyinka. Even those that wrote the the King James version can't afford to buy private jets.
