As a linguist,i can tell you it doesn't work like that.
Language like culture is dynamic,it grows and changes moreso when it is seperated from it's roots or is in constant contact with other languages.
If our ancestors from the 13th century are allowed to hear the sort of Igbo we speak in 2017,i doubt they will be able to fully to understand us. The speech pattern might be there but the lexical items and words may not be the same.

As much as i have reservations for Tinubu, i don't think he's that bad. If he becomes the president, he's going to be the most enlightened of them all since after the first republic. But i don't see him winning or even coming close.

The stories i heard about the Igbos in Fernando Po (Now Bioko) is that they were Igbos who ran to Equatorial Guinea during the civil war and stayed there. If this is the case then the Igbo shouldn't be that different from what is spoken in Nigeria.

If Tinubu comes out for 2019 then he's not as smart as people make him to be. You expect, Tinubu who has a cult-like following in the SW to throw that all away by contesting for presidency which he's going to lose? I doubt he's even considering it. His best bet, which he would have considered is vying for the vice-president seat with either Buhari or another front runner.

I think when they said that Buhari was a man of integrity, what they meant is that he is a greedy person. I think the likes of Akande and Tinubu have realized that their benefit from the unholy union of ACN and CPC is too small compared to their input into making Buhari the president. Tinubu has tried to remain political correct but you can tell that he's not satisfied with the status quo and it is evident in his call for restructuring after a long hiatus.
