What a myopic mind! So he must be working in an oil company to earn 240k, smh. You better go out and see how well some companies pay their employees.

That being said, he worked for that money because the company said employees were to work from home. If he hadn't done anything at all, or he was placed on furlough during that time, it would have been understandable. The fact that you would accept this peasantry does not mean others should. Even if the company is broke and wants to lay off, a company with sensible managers would have discussed how things have went south with the company, pay the employees their full benefits and wish them well!
They have paid 34k out 240k so what is next! You both can team up to sue the company. I'm thinking on how to cut my staff strength from 31 to 10 this month. I'm an employer that is why I'm myopic.

Hi Everyone,

I want to run this through this platform, perhaps I would get some useful input.

I switched companies in March. It was basically due to locations. I was doing fine at my former company. I moved to the latter one because it's close to my house and offered a little salary raise. Turned out it would be my worst career decision.

First week in April after the lockdown was announced, the company came up with a work from home policy which stated that staff were meant to work only Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Consequently, only 70 percent of basic salary (without the allowances) would be paid, and worse, computation would be made for only the number of days (I.e, 12 days a month).

We were assured it's just for the lockdown period, and that things would return to normal afterwards.

Surprisingly, by third week of April, about 90% of staff (including I) was laid off, giving us one week notice.

Yesterday, i got N36,000 from them as my salary for April. My agreed net salary before accepting their offer was N240,000, and that's what I got in March

Considering I'm being laid off, shouldn't they have at least paid the full salary for the month? I feel greatly cheated. Any advice, please?

Thank you.
Bro! Are you ok! They even tried to pay you something.
Employee are always selfish. Do you know if the company has broke even since they commence business or they are operating on loan. Now here come unplanned global pandemic that has melt down economies. I beg which company dey pay you 240k per month? Na oil company? Just move on, you can't do anything at the movement.

My friend you complain too much, you are the problem of that woman, nobody on earth likes it when you involve third party in your relationship. If I may ask, when last did you take that woman and her children out, show her the same old love.

Love has the power to change the devil's heart. Practice gifting, stop broadcasting her or always looking for her family members to complained to. You have your own problem or I call it shortcoming.

Believe in her strength and weakness, forgive her from your heart. Hence you said money is not your problem, use the money to change her status, if she is not working, please establish her on the business she really wanted.

God help us all. Happy birthday on her behalf you know thinking about this COVID 19 can make one forget own date of birth. Heart attack loading, and make yourself happy bro.

I can never understand the ideology of you doing nothing financially for me and you are trying to checkmate me, want to see who I am talking to and getting jealous all the time.

Am I supposed to stop talking to other guys, because I am dating a guy like you who can’t even take care of the basic needs of a woman, her hair and toiletries? Of course I am doing it myself, but there is absolutely nothing wrong with my man doing it for me. If you are broke and do nothing for your babe give her some space.

She knows you don’t have and trying to cope with you but don’t choke her up, especially now when you have nothing to offer.

Ps: if you are stingy as a man, you are not a man, you have no value. I didn’t say broke I said stingy. If you can’t do in little you won’t in much.
I missed one of my funlani girl friend. She was a bank manager, i was self employed.

She bought me a 2001 CRV Honda jeep, she bought me expensive shoes and clothes, i used one of the most expensive perfumes ever and during our relationship i got close to herdsmen where she bought me 13 cows to be taken care by those fulani's. Do you know what! The relationship couldn't work.

When there is true love nothing count.

Op if you truly love this guy, you won't come here and begin talking about "Stingy". One thing i will never forget about my fulani girl was that she was able to prove to me that nothing matters to her when it involves loving me.

Op can you go extra mile for a guy you truly love? Remember! Giving can always come from both sides just to prove a point but not mandatory until after you are both married.
FamilyRe: My Wife Is Angry With Me Because I Bought Underwears For Her Niece by afecgivers: 11:41am On May 05, 2020
Caringfather:
Good evening all

Pls is it wrong for me to buy my wife niece under wears?

I have 3 children 2 girls ages 11, 7 and boy 4 , my wife niece is also living with us. She is 15. I buy my children clothes including their under-wears without my wife complaining I was the one that bought my first daughter her first bras too.

When my wife niece came staying with us it was 2018, I noticed most her clothes were native and worn out. I have given her the money to buy new clothes for the child but she never did. For 2 years now this girl has grown so much and still wearing the same clothes and I really feel ashamed every Sunday when we are going to church. Our kids are looking very cute and this girl is looking unkempt all the time. I have talked to my wife but she doesn’t seem to care about her.

I took all kids out for clothes shopping just before this pandemic and I bought clothes including under wears for all kids but my wife wasn’t happy because I bought bras and under wears for her niece. She said the clothes are fine but I have no right to buy under wears for her. She accused me of sleeping with her niece which is not true. I only did it because this girl was in need of clothes just imagine for 2 years no clothes while she keeps changing our kids wardrobes like every 4-6 months.

I have no intention of sleeping with her niece neither am I sleeping with her. I take her as our first born and am like her father. If I want to cheat on my wife, there are plenty women around me, no way I will stoop so low to sleep with her niece.

I have daughters, sisters and nieces, what I don’t want to happen to my kids then I wouldn’t do it to another person's child. My act was innocent but my wife is angry.

Please be honest with me, was my decision wrong?
Your Stupidity is worst than COVID 19 lab error. Imagine your uncle buying underwear for your wife? Won't you ask how e knew your wife needs them. And maybe you have never bought for your wife before o. Pardon me i couldn't read the story because the heading provoked me.

PoliticsRe: The Strange Satanism Of Bill Gates - By Reno Omokri by afecgivers: 9:23am On May 05, 2020
ochejoseph:
In John 10:10 Christ said satan’s mission is to steal, kill and destroy. Since the year 2000, Bill and Melinda Gates have spent $5 billion feeding Africans and saving African lives. It thus betrays ingratitude for Africans to call them satanic agents. Can we not give them the benefit of the doubt? We have produced no evidence to substantiate these rumours, yet we are so prepared to forget all their good deeds and just label them anti Christ.

How can you say Bill and Melinda Gates are satanic agents when Christ said satan came to steal, kill and destroy? For years, they have been doing the opposite of that. It is particularly disappointing for politicians to make that claim. Can you do for your people what Bill Gates has done for them?

Sadly, misguided Africans insulted Bill and Melinda Gates when they expressed concern about deaths on the streets of Africa. But look at Kano. If we had taken their warnings seriously, Kano won’t be a #COVID19 hotspot today, despite having tens of thousands of mosques and hundreds of churches.

How can you have individuals who have not lifted a finger to help their people. Who have not shared palliatives out of their pocket. You have not done a giveaway.

Their only contribution to the #CoronaVirus fight is to insult Bill and Melinda Gates, who have spent more money on African’s health than their own governments Bill and Melinda Gates were not satanic agents when they provided anti malarial medicines to Nigeria, or when they provided food aid to the insurgency ravaged Northeast. Now they are satanic. Africa and ingratitude. What a shame!

Right now, there will be racist haters of Black Africans, approaching @BillGates and laughing at him, while saying ‘did we not tell you that no matter what you do, they will never be grateful?’. Africans. Without evidence, we have crucified a friend of Africa!

Those calling billgates and melinda anti Christ are more anti Christ than the real anti Christ. The way we use antichrist is so daft. Think on your own...what is anti virus and what is the antichrist.

CareerRe: Ever Lost A Job Doing The Right Thing? My Experience Doing One by afecgivers: 8:09am On May 05, 2020
Mike4S:
I graduated some years back, and never wanted to teach in secondary school‎ because of the trends in Nigerian education. I took to the labour market and focused only on primary schools. As the job did not come, I decided to include secondary schools.

One later came my way and it was the later. Having stayed long in the unemployment line, I accepted the offer. I started teaching and it was as I thought before. Having the hindsight, I did not bother. After all before the examination I will have gathered some amount.

My colleagues were particularly vulnerable to the impact of our boss. Whenever they discuss, they always say all kind of things about the pressure from the boss. They saw it as an act of routine expediency that had to be done.

First term passed, second term passed, at this juncture, she called a meeting and we mustered. The major thrust of the meeting was the strategy to engage to pass the children.
She did not call it exam malpractice. She used a euphemistic language. At the end, she asked if we understood. Everybody nodded yes and gave an affirmative answer. This was at the end of the second term.

Soon it was time for the exam and the staff time table was out. It was arranged such that every teacher on duty will be supervising exam on the day his subject was to be taken.

Choosing principle of expediency, I refused to take part in the exam malpractice I was uncomfortable with.

The woman called and persuaded me to engage in the shady deal. I kept mute but inside me I had already made up my mind like the biblical Shedrack, Meshack, and Abednego.

The next day, I was on duty and I insisted on my principle of expediency. She simply gritted her teeth and moved on with it.

Sometimes it is desirable for people to be free of fear of attack or sack as the case may be in order to invoke honest opinion.

The woman endured it because she did not have choice than to continue with me. Guess what! Some parents were ready to go with me!
She endured it until the term ended. I was not surprised when she called me and announced my exit.

Today, I am happy that i'm teaching in primary school where I am not forced to do exam malpractice. I'm even happy to have my pay raised.
I suspect! This is where your problem lies: Guess what! Some parents were ready to go with me!
She endured it until the term ended. I was not surprised when she called me and announced my exit.

You might have been exposing the institution secrets to parents and not all were with you as you claimed.
One thing you must know again is that if you are working in a one-man business...you do not have your own principle, you work with the principle of your employer. So your doing the right thing in such a setting is relative. Your diligence will pay off in the longrun. Weldone
