Dillian went in and was throwing no punches nor keeping his guard up. These shorter guys need to learn how Mike Tyson beat taller guys or better yet watch better boxers like otto wallin.

That guy punished Fury bt fury won by points.

U can't be Shorter, with a shorter reach and yet be slower. How are u gonna hit the taller guy. undecided

Fury is good bt not that good. Dillian did rubbish, way worse than wilder.
If Tyson Fury is not so good, who is good in this era of Heavyweight boxing?

Sai Baba! Sai Buhari!! Sai Maigeskiya!!! Sai Chenji!!!! Go anywhere in the north and shout these words, you'd automatically become their friend.. Buhari is morethan a politician, he is a movement, you can call him a course of study if you want.. He doesn't laugh much, he doesn't talk much, he doesn't entertain, he is not your regular politician but the way he does it, I don't know, he is the only nigerian alive that can shutdown a whole city, his presence pulls millions of people out of their houses under the sun and in the rain onto the streets grin People just love him up here in the north.. The good thing about the man is his simplicity and love for the masses, left to him alone he doesn't mind entering the crowd and hugging every single person.. Anywhere he goes, you'd see people running after his moving car, hitting the windows, etc just to express their love for him.. For the first time since 1960 we have a leader loved my the commoners and hated by the elite. As Tuface talk am "who God has blessed, no man can curse".. Baba, as you don win election so na God win o. My prayer is that he doesn't disappoint these millions of talakawas.

how do you feel about this 6 years later? grin

As Nigeria turns 60, the writings on the wall are very clear- we are in a bad shape!

We've become more divided than we were pre-biafran civil war, Nepotism and Impunity are at an all time high and life for majority of the citizens is helish.

In my opinion, we should be rallying, demonstrating and protesting as the country turns 60, as opposed to any form of celebration.

What are you celebrating if you are on october first?

Some hard truths there. Although I do not believe for a second that the Chinese are a more advanced race than Africans because I've been to places in China with deplorable living conditions. Thing is people hardly get to see such places on TV. With that being said, I totally agree with the writer that Africa - especially the black ones seem lost on how to use their God given natural resources for the betterment of their countries and people. Nigeria aptly fits this abysmally shameful and confusing scenario. We have all the resources needed to make us an enviably rich country yet we are one of the poorest, disorganized, mismanaged, corrupt nations on the earth. Sometimes I can not help wondering if there is something innately wrong with black leaders, politicians and policymakers. Can't help it!
My good brother, i think about our leaders and i think our leaders, being from our communities are a reflection of our morals and values. Truth is most regular citizens would do the same or even worse if given the opportunity to lead so i think we have a flawed system of operating and a flawed mindset about achieving greatness. We need a complete reorientation. We also need to get rid of the mindset that "if you no get money, hide your face"

Education / "Us Chinese Believe That Africans Are Mentally Inferior" Chinese Tells African by AfricanWahala(m): 12:33am On Aug 18, 2020
A Chinese individual by the name of Xi Chen sent the email (picture attached) to a pan Africanist named Phil Scot (African American).

The content of the e-mail briefly explains that Chinese people strongly believe that Africans "mentally inferior" and Africans are a "weak race". Xi also said that "it is only natural for the Chinese to rule over Africans" because we Africans have natural resources that we have no clue what to do with them.

The email is blatantly racist and it reflects the mindset of many non-Africans about our people. The main reason why these people look at us from that perspective is because of the condition our continent has been in the last few centuries. We've always been at the receiving end of racism, we always ask for assistance and aids from Western countries and China these days, and it seems like we can't get anything done properly without involving Europeans and Asians.

The solution to the current position we find ourselves in (at the bottom of the food chain), is to build our country and continent by ourselves. We have to educate our people as much as possible on how smart we are and how capable we are of doing great things, we need to hold our leaders accountable when the misbehave and we absolutely need to unify and put aside our tribal and religious differences.

If we end up being systematically colonized by China like they have been pushing in recent decades with their debt traps and how they've established themselves accross the continent, we will be forever doomed. This is our opportunity to rise up, hold our leaders accountable, put aside our differences and unify to rebuild and leave this bottom position we currently are in.

I am American and once again I say " You don't know anything about America". You said no one ropes you into anything unless there's something you are hiding which is absolutely bullcrap. You see, in the US there is an action/crime called RAILROADING when the law does exactly what you said, rope innocent people into something that they didn't do or knew anything about, this has been going on for centuries and continues to happen everyday.

Everyone serving time in prisons are not guilty and are there because of RAILROADING. If you like I can give you some cases of RAILROADING. The US justice system was designed and created to justly serve Caucasians and criminalize others. The protesting that is going on today is because people are sick and tired of the injustice. A lot of people believe the system is broken and needs to be fixed but in reality the system isn't broken it is working just the way it was designed to do.

The system (The US Constitution) needs to be rewritten, starting with the 13th amendment which still supports slavery under certain conditions which explains the mass incarceration of black people. The amendment clause that proclaims black people (meaning YOU) as only 3/5th human (that's why whites won't have a problem with blowing your head off because they don't see you as full human) needs to be abolished as well.

Sorry about my mini thesis but this was a teaching moment. smiley

So I have this American patient who I recently came across. He's a fat dude who is like in his late 40s but has a very jolly and likeable character. I introduced myself and we got talking afterwards.

After a while of chitchat, he asked me where I was from. I told him to take a guess and he said said, you sound like you're Nigerian. I told him (regrettably) that I was Nigerian. He started smiling and told me that he had a Nigerian girlfriend and that we both had similar accents.

He then started telling me recent occurrences that had befallen his girlfriend in Nigeria. He said the lastest story was that she was in Abuja and as she was on her way to the airport in a taxi, the taxi had an accident and she was seriously injured and had to be rushed to the hospital. He said that the hospital demanded money before treatment started and he had to hustle about $4000 and send to her in order for treatment to start.

He said that after a week of her being in the hospital, they wanted to discharge her despite her still being in pain. Because she had exhausted all the $4000 on treatment, he said the hospital had threatened to discharge her on the streets and he was trying to borrow more money to see if he could send it to her so they could continue with her treatments.

He furthermore told me that the girlfriend said that she was a Nigerian American citizen who was currently stuck in Nigeria due to her passport having expired and also due to Covid lockdown at airports in Nigeria. He said she had asked him for $300 to renew her US passport from American embassy in Nigeria.

Another thing that he told me was that just before covid struck, there was a similar pandemic which happened in Nigeria early this year and that his girlfriend had contracted the disease and he had to send her $2000 for treatment. Right now he said he's broke but is waiting for like $2000 disability check from the US government next week which he will send to her as soon as the money clears.

As he was telling me this tale, I was so angry with Nigerians and how they take advantage of people in love to scam them. I wanted to swear for the scammers angry

I'm at a dilemma here. Do I tell him that he's being scammed by Nigerians or do I continue to be professional and just ignore it. Because I don't want him to think I'm involved with it because these oyinbo people can turn everything on your head and accuse you that is your people in conjunction with you that are scamming him. They are that crazy.

The good part of me wants to help him but I'm hesitant that it may turn out bad for me. Please matured responses.

My friend you are morally obligated to tell the dude. You shouldn't even think twice about it

I can certainly understand why this degree of physical and sexual abuse towards Nigerians on their own soil by our new colonial masters is shocking, the reality is that there is a history of both direct and indirect abuse by Chinese masters that provide desperately needed employment for Nigerians. Chinese companies in Nigeria are abusing Nigerians due to the consequences of the impact of a failed state and our best export "corruption". Chinese companies were granted consents to set up industries without regulatory and governing human rights laws, health and safety nor basic employment rights. The Federal and State Government officials does not monitor nor evaluate compliance because the personnel from the Ministries responsible for monitoring compliance have been compromised, the Chinese officials have bought these so called compliant officials, and in some cases these compliance units do not even exist. This situation is even worse in Edo State where the Chinese have set up glass and tile manufacturing industries where scores of young desperate Nigerians have died needlessly from industrial accidents and severe injuries. most of these desperate young Nigerians are unaware of their rights and they have been subjected to severe physical torture and abuse. The Chinese masters act like GOD like superior race and maltreat Nigerians that are seen as subhuman. Even disturbing is the fact that these Chinese companies acquire huge lands without adequate lease contracts that would add value to the environments where they are situated. They do not provide social infrastructure nor even tarred roads or energy, but they will handover used vehicles to the locals in exchange for endless acres of land and lease. As an unwanted foreigner in China you are not allowed to own land and your rights are limited, but in Nigeria we are being colonized with our young men abused and young women sexually exploited and abused. Enough is Enough Nigerians need to rise up and regain its independence from our new Masters, our Governments cannot enable this process because this would expose the nefarious alignments in high platforms. I am appealing to Nigerians with conscience to rise up and restore our indepence for those that are marginalized and have no stake in a country that has lost its soul
Great point. I think we need to destroy the system in place that allows corruption to thrive with impunity. It's not only our leaders that are bad, it's the mindset of the average Nigerian which stems from a severely corrupt system that is in place. A good standing individual cannot succeed in this current system because he'd either join the corrupt practices or he'd be gotten rid of. We need to destroy the system, the status quo. We need a long term protest that will see our demands met from arresting and prosecuting past and present corrupt public office holders from Gowon to Obasanjo to Akpabio etc and a total overhauling of the constitution. We need a massive revolution at this point. This country is a ticking bomb!
Family / Re: I Can't Stand My Wife's Unhygienic Habits. by AfricanWahala(m): 10:13pm On Aug 11, 2020
manos:
Note: it's a bit long... I could have summarized but I want those contributing to get a crystal clear picture of the situation, so that they can give better and specific advice.

The major problem here is that she mixes up things to be done in the kitchen with things done only in the toilet.

I have been married to my wife for over a year now (no kids yet) and there are certain unhygienic habits she has been displaying, since we started living together. I have been seeking ways to help her improve on it, but a calm correction from me always leads to a bitter argument between us. (She claims I complain too much whenever I point it out)

For example, she always clears her throat early in the morning and spits in the kitchen sink. (despite the fact that we have 2 toilets with wash hand basins; one in the room and also a guest toilet, with a wash-hand basin which is basically 3 steps from the kitchen). Then she goes to the bathroom, gets her toothbrush and comes back to the kitchen to brush her teeth, while doing several things with toothpaste and saliva drooling from her mouth all through.

The other day, she prepared breakfast (spaghetti) for both of us with the drooling toothpaste mouth and i refused to eat from it. I didn't complain to her either, until she asked why I didn't take my portion of the spaghetti from the pot, later that evening. I mentioned to her that, as always I find it disgusting to eat spaghetti, seasoned with toothpaste drool and saliva. The response I got from her was a hiss and then she said that, next time I should inform her if I am not going to eat the food she cooked so that she would not cook for me."

I let that slide but I felt she missed the point. The next day was her birthday and I decided to prepare breakfast for her.
While I was in the kitchen cooking, she came in with the same drooling toothpaste mouth to take a kitchen Scissors in order to cut something on her pants, even though we have another scissors in the room for such purposes. In the process of trying to pick the scissors, her hands which were covered with toothpaste drool had to cross the pot which I was cooking with. I mentioned to her that I was not comfortable with that and she just hissed as usual, still picked the Scissors and left the kitchen while angrily saying that I am just a complainer. I lost it at this point and proceeded to give her a lecture in anger about basic hygiene and why I can not keep quiet over these things because we live in a shared space and how her actions have a direct effect on me. It ended in a shouting match till she kept quiet, without accepting she was wrong.

This is the pattern almost everything takes when I try to correct her. The worst part is that I would still have to be the one to apologize for shouting at her because if I don't, I might be subjected to a week long silent treatment which I dread.

There are other more unhygienic things that are done by her, which I might not be able to post here due to the fact that I am not completely anonymous and she is still my wife but I hope this information is enough for someone to understand my frustration and profer a solution.

My good brother, marriage is not easy and that's what's you're facing. Keep correcting her and look for a way to do it without causing a fight. To the clowns calling you a sim, believe me majority of them have no clue what it's like to be married and they're just liars and frauds. You're just one year into your marriage, it'll get better as fast as you communicate in a respectful manner

YoungandDepress:
My story is quite a sad and long one.
I wish I could write it all out. My life has been a terrible mess.
Where did it go wrong for me, I have no idea.

I am writing with so much emotion, my heart is full and heavy.
Life is bitter.

I am a 23 years old guy.
My life all started to go in the negative direction when I gained admission at age 16.
A 16 years old boy in the university, so much freedom and exposure.
I messed up my life, I became addicted to bet9ja virtual gambling I lost focus, Gambling killed me, I started failing exams, at the end I dropped out without my parents Knowing, but the truth came out when I was supposed to graduate, I could not hide it anymore. I told them the truth, my parents forgave me like the prodigal son.

They still believed in me especially my mom, she keeps reminding me of how intelligent I used to be.

Well I'm not here to talk about my past life but here to talk about how it is still affecting me today.

Ever since I started university all over again, I have been miserable and frustrated. Nothing has been working in my favour. I'm currently now in 200level hoping to graduate before 25.
All my mates I started with have done their NYSC.

I'm still stuck in the same stage.
I have no idea what I am doing with my life. I'm young, broke and depressed. I get irritated over little things. I feel disgust at how I uselessed my youthful life. How gambling destroyed me.

By the grace of whichever god exists, I am no longer addicted to gambling. I have quit the addiction for almost a year now but nothing changed, I still feel miserable. I hate having people around me even my family members including my mom.

I have no true friends. Nobody checks on me, nobody calls me.

At this age, I can't boast of having 500 naira in my account.
I'm broke and miserable.

I have started hating God and question my belief in God. I hate Sunday's. I hate hearing about God, I don't blame God for my troubles but I'm angry at the fact that despite my parents being dedicated Christians, things are not working well in my family.
My elder ones are graduates, but no solid job yet.

Only my eldest brother who is doing quite well now and I thank God for his life but we don't talk. I can't remember the last time I called him on phone. They don't hate me, I hate myself.
I have disappointed them a lot.

I just lost the last #1000 I had in my life today and I cried. The money fell out my pocket when I went to get something.

At 23 years, I have no idea what I will do with my future.
I still live with my parents and I have never rented an apartment of my own even in school.

What is wrong with me, why am I miserable?

I have no good clothes. My clothes are all worn out.
I have nothing doing, i live off my parents.

Since schools were shut down, I have been at home doing nothing.
Completely broke, damaged and miserable.

Can my life be any better. What do I do. I am depressed.
I keep asking myself these questions but there
Seem to be no answer.

When I was 23, I felt almost this exact way but today at 34 still with many challenges,I look back and laugh at those tougher times in my early 20's. Your story is actually much more common than you think and a lot of those your ex class mates are actually not as happy as you think they are.

Focus on your life and take it one step at a time. Have a goal and push towards it. Make sure it is not a criminal goal though. You will be fine in time

Culture / Four (4) Reasons Why Africans Look Down On Ourselves But Adore Foreigners by AfricanWahala(m): 7:04am On Jun 19, 2020

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=igZ_ljO9oWo&lc=UgyU96RlNl7qQdimvVN4AaABAg

One huge problem we have as African people is how we treat one another in a crappy fashion, as opposed to the high regard that we give non-Africans like Europeans, Asians, Arabs, etc in our countries.

At Muritala Mohammed airport which is the first point of contact in Nigeria to majority of first time visitors, you will notice how the customs and immigration officials act rude to African travellers while they glorify Europeans, Asians and every light complexioned traveller.

The reasons we behave this way are numerous but I have come up with just 5 reasons:

1) the Legacy of colonization on our people's psychology is profound. Our people still have not been able to shake off the low self esteem that is deeply rooted in us from the times of colonization and slavery and neo-colonization these days. Our people exchanged our religions, traditions, languages and way of life for European and Arab style so we have been mentally dominated by these foreign entities. We need to snap back to reality ASAP.

2) The fact that we want what the foreigners already have in basic amenities, reliable infrastructure and decent living conditions, it makes us continue to look up to them in our achievements and we always use their standards to judge ourselves. What we need to do to correct this is start holding our leaders accountable so that they would be fold and start meeting our demands.

3) Our leaders look up to the foreigners as well: The fact that our leaders who represent us at the global stage already have severe low self esteem in how they interact with Europeans, Americans, Chinese and Saudi people, it makes it difficult for us people to have any self belief. Our leaders literally live in a lot of these foreign countries too. When they steal money, it becomes a competition as to who has the best house in Dubai, Maryland or London. Our leaders influence us a lot and since they already have inferiority complex when dealing with foreigners, it has been passed down to us the regular citizens too.

4) The media constantly shows the continent of Africa in a negative light and even though a lot of these stories they talk about are real, the stories do not entirely represent us. The constant propaganda though has successfully brainwashed us Africans as well as many other people from other groups to feel pitiful and to view us from a sorry point of view. This has created severe low self esteem among our people. Also the media only shows "quality" products as non-African products like Gucci, Versace, Ferrari, etc (which are all european) while the media would hardly showcase locally produced African goods as top notch.

Sir, do not make the mistake of lumping all of Africa in the same bucket as Nigeria. Many African countries are progressing while Nigeria is regressing or standing still at best in the indices that enable long term sustainable development. Our close neighbor Ghana is making significant progress. Today, it is the #1 choice in West Africa for large multinational manufacturing companies that want to do business in an ethical fashion, consistent with the way they are used to operating in their home countries. Isn't it ironic that the West African market is essentially Nigeria, but they prefer to produce outside of it and only do arms length trade within its confines?

oh absolutely!

I recognize the fact that many sub-Saharan African countries are doing much better than Nigeria in terms of progression. Examples are: Botswana, Rwanda, Senegal, Ghana and some others but Nigerians are too arrogant to realise and we are often deluded by thinking we are the giant of Africa because of our economic and population size. The real measure of progress should be how the standard of living of the average citizen is improving.

What would make us stand a better chance as a group (Africans) is to unify and partner to grow together. The Chinese don't ask us what countries we are from before they discriminate against us in Guangzhou, the Europeans don't care where we are from before they treat us like trash in their countries and in the US.

Us being divided like we currently are makes it easier for us to be conquered and the tribalism we have in nigeria has been a curse that only benefits Europeans and the Chinese these days.

God bless you. Same here. I came here in January on business and got stuck. I relocated back to Nigeria in 2010 after about 35years in U.S. I tried to explain to these young generation that nobody is going to respect the black people until they develop their continent.

Running away from the country is not going to solve any problems they are just going to U.S. or Canada to enslave themselves for food and shelter. That's is it.

Sometimes i just feel that most black people prefer slavery than freedom. I just can't understand how some people will sell their properties and move abroad.

God bless you and keep safe. Thanks

Thank you for your insight sir.

To be honest, I was one of the most critical individuals on Nigeria from a young age Soni had to leave and live abroad and witness the lifestyle for myself.

To be honest, life in Canada has been much better than it is in Nigeria and I've been here for 8 years but the more I grow, I realise that we Africans cannot continue to escape from our problems. The scariest part is realising that the educated ones among us are the one that make their way to Western countries and develop these countries at the expense of sever brain drain input country.

Our leaders definitely don't care about the future of Nigeria because if they did, they should have started mitigating this mass exodus/brain drain situation currently going on because it's a recipee for disaster in the future for example: NMA has about 77,000 registered doctors and dentists out of which 40,000 practices abroad. This leaves a population of 200 million people to depend on 37, 000 doctors. It is not sustainable.

At the end of the day, we have a massive problem and the solution is to unite as Africans regardless our tribes and religions and we need to build Africa by ourselves...not the Chinese, not the Europeans or Americans. We Africans have to do something otherwise we are going to remain at the bottom of the food chain FOREVER

Nigerians abroad, how many of you are considering relocating back to the 'motherland' once this whole pandemic/lockdown debacle is over?

If you are, state your reasons here..

This is a great question. After this lockdown is over, I will not be relocating back to Nigeria immediately because the country is still very messed up in general but I know that I am obligated to relocate at some point in the future because Africans worldwide will continue to remain disrespected until we fix our continent.

Now many Africans are disillusioned by thinking that if they acquire wealth or political power, they are immune to our global disrespect but you can ask rich and powerful people of African descent like Oprah Winfrey, Buhari, Obama and Dangote if they've experiences of being sidelined when discussing on tables with other non-African rich and powerful people.

Africans gets disrespected because our land hasn't thrived to anywhere near its capacity. In Nigeria for example, we almost worship anyone that has a pale skin tone; see the red carpet treatment we give to Chinese, Lebanese, Indians and Europeans when they come around even our politicians and leaders are mostly subservient around these people and always asking for handouts for us.

We can't be respected if we keep along this trajectory but at the end of the day, the only way we can start getting some respect is if we can truly unify and build and repair out continent by ourselves (Africans)

We need leaders that cherish the country's development above their pockets.
Did you see sacrificial death required in my own needs?
You will not start with what is plausible be looking for who will die there, nonsense and ingredient.

It's understandable that you fall into the category of the majority- which is people that are comfortable with our current situation.

You probably have political dreams too but for the wrong reasons. You've might have even convinced yourself that you want to be a politician to make a positive difference but with your mindset, you can't achieve sh!t.

We need more youths in Nigeria and Africa as a whole to knock out these old school people that have been ruling since independence with nothing to show.

We need youths that aren't lost like the majority whose only life ambition is to make lots of money no matter what.

We need youths to engage in politics who don't look up to flamboyant current and past leaders like Dino Melaye, Paul Biya, Sani Abacha, Micheal Sanko, etc because the ones that look up to them would only want to participate in the sharing of the "national cake".

We need youths that are not zombies for the frivolities we see on our music and movie industries, but the ones that genuinely are only interested in the progress of our continent.

It's unfortunate that majority of our youths are lost these days, and many will come forward and pretend like they have our progress at heart, and many people will sentimentally support them based on friendship, religion and tribal affiliations but that's not what we truly need.

What we truly need are young people that will be will to lay their lives for the progress of our countries. People that will be ready to make enemies in the already established status quo of the corridors of power. ✊
