 It’s unfortunate you wasted your affection, time and money on her. Many of these girls are damaged by their incredible greed, their friends and the community of women that raised/mentored them. This is why as a man, you must raise your daughter to treasure her personal dignity. A good thing you saw the truth on time. You felt you saw someone who deserved better but you were wrong. She actually desired and deserved that abuser and that’s why she left you after experiencing the peace of mind and dignity you offered. A normal person would see the contrast and choose peace but a greedy damaged person will despise your peace and treat you bad. She will stop taking your calls. She will make sure you understand that she is irritated by your presence/attention. You should not pity her. She doesn’t want your pity. Move on and be grateful it was short lived. You should not cast your pearls before swine. They will trample on them and attack you. Ideally, abusive people should not be allowed to have partners. They should remain alone for their entire lives so they won’t procreate and perpetuate the cruelty in their blood. Which kind topic lala dey post for front page today? First that Toks thread about so called “real men” marrying single mothers and now this? If you want to marry later on, believe me, your body count matters. Women don’t be deceived. If you were “sexually liberated” in your 20’s and suddenly think your man won’t mind now that you want to settle down, you will be surprised. Men that genuinely don’t mind scandalous body counts are rare. Don’t think for a second you’d meet them as soon as you’re ready to settle down. Don’t deceive yourself. There are some things that are gendered in this age. A man may have a reputation for promiscuity and it won’t affect his chances of marrying but a woman with such a reputation has a scanty array of choices for marriage and they are often unpleasant men. That’s why women hide their body count. They innately know that it will affect their chances of bagging a suitable suitor. You guys need to stop demonising it.A woman’s biological clock ticks fast. It is what it is. Not all women who desire to have children in marriage will have that opportunity. For some it will boil down to a choice between being a baby mama or not having kids at all. Some guys just won’t marry you no matter how good you feel you are. They advise us guys to stop going for beauty and to pick character. Nairaland babes are doing as if they don’t understand how the OP got there. Biologically, compared to men, the odds are eternally stacked against women as they cross the 30 year old mark. What’s more? In today’s society where women gain almost all the benefits of marriage and divorce, more men are reluctant to marry. There is no benefit for us that a girlfriend cannot give. As long as we have unjust laws demonising a man for losing his marriage and forcing him into huge financial loss, men will always be apprehensive and they will increasingly embrace the idea of having baby mamas. Women have made marriage a big financial risk for men. And as we know, a man in financial trouble is closer to depression than ever. He cannot be paid for his looks, his gender or for having sex. He is a man. And when he is forced to work only so a lazy ex wife can collect half his earning in the name of alimony or inflated child support, he will live a very sad life. The solution for women like OP is to marry younger men who may be only after the comfort she provides. That doubt will always be there and she must live with it. It will take a miracle for her to meet a man in her age bracket who fits her ideals, as even 30+ women struggle to marry the man of their dreams. |
